Chapter 16: Moments of Sparks

Nupur was standing in front of the dresser getting ready doing her makeup Just then Mayank came out of the bathroom. He looked at nupur and was shocked she was looking gorgeous wearing a dark green knee length dress, her hair were in culs, she had light eye makeup on. Mayank was amazed looking at Nupur, he was so lost in her that he forgot he was shaving and accidently cut his cheek from the blade.

Mayank: "Ouch". Mayank yelled holding his cheek, nups turned at mayank's voice, blood was coming out of his cheek. Nups rushed towards him.

Nups: "omg Mayank are you okay, (she said trying to get the look at mayank's cheek), wait let me get some cotton". Mayank tried to deal with the pain while nupur brought cotton.

Nups: "here show me". Nups said holding mayank's face with her hands, she put some liquid medicine on cotton and started cleaning mayank's cut.

Mayank: "ouch ouch". Mayank whispered as the medicine burned his cut.

Nups: "Sorry". Nups looked into mayank's eyes, they were standing really close, their eyes met, slow wind blew from the window and a layer of nups hair fell in front of her eyes. Mayank slowly put the layer of her hair behind her ear, nups shivered at his touch. As usal mayank's phone started ringing and both realized their proximity and stepped back a little.

Mayank: "Uh thanks".

Nups: "your welcome". She whispered.

~After an hour mayank and nupur were sitting inside Mr. Segal's Office discussing the deal.

Mr. Segal: "I don't understand Mr. Sharma, why did you come so far for the deal".

Mayank: "well My manager was quite busy, so I thought of coming here myself to enclose the deal".

Mr. Segal: "well its really nice to meet you, and your marketing manager, Miss Bhushan". He said looking towards nupur, mayank was getting really irritated, because Mr. Segal was more focused on talking with Nupur then on the deal.

Mr. Segal: "I must say you look really gorgeous".

Nups: "Thanks". Nups said trying to lower her dress, though she was enjoying watching mayank get irritated but she felt a little uncomfortable under Mr. Segal's gaze.

Mr. Segal: "Are you single?".

Nups: "Yes". Mayank flinched at nups answer, his hands formed into fist and her glared at nupur.

Nups: "What". She mouthed it to him.

Mr. Segal: "Really wow, that's amazing such a young beautiful girl single, that's impossible".

Nups: "well what can I say'''.". Nups was interrupted by mayank.

Mayank: "She is my would be wife mr. segal, we came here together to get to know each other better, so if you don't mind can we please sign the deal, so then I can take my fianc on a tour of this place". Mayank said in a loud tone, nups smiled in victory, finally mayank got possessive over her.

Mr. Segal: "oh sorry, sure we can sign the deal". Three of them looked over the deal and it was signed.

Mr. Segal: "Mr. Mayank I think we can look over the designs and rest of the formalities over dinner tomorrow night at the SeaSand restaurant, since I will be leaving for business meeting on Monday and office is closed tomorrow".

Mayank: "yes that would be perfect". Both shook hands and mayank and nups walked out of the huge office building, it was almost 7pm.

~Mayank started walking in the direction of their hotel.

Nups: "Oh hello Mr. Sadu where are you going?". She said walking behind him.

Mayank: "Where does it look like am I going back to our hotel obviously". He said in a irritated tone.

Nups: "Oh hello remember you said you will take me sightseeing".

Mayank: "I lied you can go alone!". He snapped at her.

Nups: "fine I will take Mr. Segal with me". Mayank suddenly turned around, his nose was flaring with anger, just the reaction nupur expected.

Mayank: "fine lets go". Both mayank and nups started walking towards the beach, the city was looking wonderful. Mayanka and nupur were walking at the beach. The ocean was calm, and city lights were reflecting into the water.

Mayank: "People are right women are characterless, no one can understand them". He mumbled.

Nups: "excuse me, women are much better then men understand, we are more loyal to you jerks".

Mayank: "Yah that's why you were openly flirting with Mr. Segal". He snapped.

Nups: "Oh excuse me he was flirting with me".

Mayank: "and you were enjoying it, saying you are single and all".

Nups: "Oh hello I am single, did you forget you want to call of the wedding and everything, so I am single".

Mayank: "Whatever but as long as you are with me you are my fianc, understand". He was boiling with anger, he felt a pang of jealousy, yah he hated nups for what she did, but he couldn't bear seeing her with someone else, that was what got them separated.

Nups: "okay fine relax sadu I won't do it again".

Mayank: "And one more thing don't wear dresses this short". He said looking at many guys who were staring at nupur, he was becoming really possessive.

Nups: "what".

Mayank: "don't wear dress till you are with me". Nups was amazed and happy at mayank's possessivness.

Nups: "why Mayank, why should I listen to you, you don't care about me then why should I care about you, I can wear whatever I want and why do you care'''''why are you being so possessive".

Mayank got more angry, because now nups was questioning their relationship, yah he had broken that relationship long ago, but it was still present somewhere in their hearts. He stopped and held nups by her shoulder tightly, and pulled her towards him, she bumped into his chest. They were so close that they could hear each other's heartbeat.

Mayank: "I being possessive cause I love''" he realized what he was about to say but stopped and shrugged his hand of nups arms, pushing her a little.

Nups: "why Mayank why are being possessive?". Nups asked, mayank calmed himself.

Mayank: "I am being possessive because you are my fiance after that issue is solved you can do whatever you want". He snapped louder and started walking, nups became quiet and followed behind him.

After 15 minutes of silence, mayank turned to nupur, who was very quiet and lost.

Mayank: "Nupur". He said taking her hand in his. "I am sorry for my behavior, I should have been that rude to you". Nups was surprised that mayank held her hand was apologizing cause that was not so mayankish.

Mayank: "I think we should try to coporate with each other for the sake of our parents they have really high hopes on us".

Nups: "fine".

Mayank: "so starting now no more fights or argument we will be friends, okay".

Nups nodded and smiled atleast mayank had stopped the fight nups was becoming successful, now she was surer that she could get mayank back. they both started walking, suddenly nups foot slipped over a rock and in an instant of second nups was on the sand and mayank was on top of her, they shared an eye lock, on top of that it started raining. Mayank and nupur got up and ran towards their hotel. By the time they reached their room both were drenched.

Mayank: "Wow that was amazing". He said picking up a towel.

Nups: "I know". Mayank smiled, looking at nupur for the moment he forgot everything, only the happy memories were left of their first rain their first kiss on cheek.

Mayank: "I think we should change before we catch a cold, you go change in the bathroom and I will change here". In fifteen minutes nups came out wearing her pink night suit. Mayank was not in the room, it was kind of dark the only light was coming in from the open windows.

Nups: "mayank'''.(yeh kahan chala gaya, whispering to herself) Mayank".

Mayank: "oo foo Nupur I am right here you don't have to be scared of anything". He said coming behind her in his vest and pj. Both looked at each other remembering the moment, when they were stuck in a cottage, because of a bad storm in Mumbai.

Mayank: "coffee". He said handing a cup to nupur, they both settled into the chairs by the window looking outside at the city, it was raining lightly.

Mayank: "Life is so odd na, you never know what it can give you".

Nups: "yah sometime you end up from where you start, but life is also beautiful because it gives us people that love us".

Suddenly they heard loud music, they both got up and went out in the balcony and looked down, someone's wedding reception was going on.

Mayank: "wow it sucks for them that it started raining on their reception". He said looking at the bride and groom and other people who were wet and dancing.

Nups: "No it doesn't in fact the rain has made this moment more special for them, rain is really romantic". Mayank looked at her, she was looking amazingly beautiful even without makeup, moon light was making her face glow more. Mayank didn't know why but he gave his hand towards nups asking her for a dance. Nups smiled and took it. Mayank pulled her towards him, he slid his other hand around her waist nups blushed. Mayank and nupur slowly started dancing at the slow music. He twirled her around. To their blossoming romance lightning struck with a bolt of thunder, nups hugged mayank hiding her face in his chest, mayank slowly put his hands around her and hugged her. Both were lost at the moment. While one thunder got them together the other thunder separated them, nups looked into mayank's eyes, both sensed the love they held for each other, but mayank was not ready to let it out just yet, he let go of nupur.

Mayank:"I think we should go to bed it's very late".

Nups: "What?". Nups said in an instant, taking the bed line.

Mayank: "I mean we should go to sleep, it's very late".

Nups: "oh". Both walked back into the room.

Mayank: "you can sleep on the bed, I will sleep on the sofa".

Nups: "okay, Goodnight". Nups said walking towards the bed, while mayank settled on the sofa.

Mayank: "good night".

Hopefull you guys liked this part! I tried to add some romance in it but i am not very good at it.
