Part one: Crashed
"All Passengers of flight number 8492 to Amsterdam please proceed to gate number 5."
"That's me mamma! I'll get going. Tell Papa that I've boarded the flight. I'll call as soon as I reach there. And I'm going for only a couple of weeks mamma....would you please stop crying?"
"You won't understand! My daughter is going away for two weeks! You're going to be all alone...I am bound to worry, Kripa."
Kripa Patel. A bold, bubbly, and beautiful young Guajarati girl at the age of 21 was bidding her mother a goodbye before parting at the Pearson Airport in Toronto, Canada. She was going to India for her friend, as well as roommate's wedding.
Kripa actually lives alone on university campus for the past 3 years because her hometown was too far from her school. Yet, her mother always worried too much for her. Gayatri had come down to Toronto especially to see off Kripa.
Kripa rolled her eyes at her sentimental mother. "Mamma....you're coming there in two weeks anyway!"
"You won't understand right now Kripa...you stay away from us anyway and now you're going out of the country all alone...."
"Oh god! Help me! Why am I stuck with such emotional parents? Mamma cries every time she says bye and dad doesn't even come to see me off at the airport because he hates goodbyes. Okay...can I go now, mamma? Please? Or else I'll miss my flight." Kripa was starting to get a little impatient. She knew that if she stayed there for a few more minutes...her mother wouldn't be the only one crying.
"Will you be alright on the flight?" Gayatri asked filling tears in her eyes again.
"Well...you know how that goes mamma...me and planes....never mind that...I'll handle it somehow. I really think I should go now mom...I still have to go check in!"
Kripa gave her mother a hug and walked towards the security check doors, turning around waving at her mother. She pulled her small trolley bag behind her and walking in through the door and crashed into what she thought was a pillar.
While all this was going on in one end of the airport...a similar scene was happening in another area of the airport...well...somewhat.
"All Passengers of flight number 8492 to Amsterdam please proceed to gate number 5."
"That's me! Mom...Dad...take care. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." A young man with a deep voice spoke.
"I'm sure you will be Angad. Tell Armaan we'll be there for his wedding for sure!" said his mother.
"Yeah...as soon as the business meetings are done, Naina and I will come there." Stated his father, matter of fact-ly. "Do congratulate Armaan on my behalf as well, Angad."
Angad Khanna. 21 years old. Hot. Tall. Muscular. The I-Drive-Girls-Crazy-Wherever-I-Go man bade goodbye to his mother and father before leaving for India.
"Are you excited?" asked Naina, his mother.
"You bet! I'm going to India after ten years...of course I'm excited" replied a full of excitement Angad.
"I know...Dilip has been busy with work lately...Even I've wanted to go for a while." Naina Smiled sadly.
"But both of you get to go now, so quit complaining", Snapped Dilip.
"Dad! Why are you always so irritated?"
"I am NOT irritated!" he snapped again.
"Okay. Whatever you say dad. But please...leave your suits at home. I'm sure you'll look just as handsome in sherwanis." Angad teased.
"Whatever Angad. Go now. You'll miss your flight otherwise."
Naina decided to intervene. "Bye beta! Have a pleasant journey and enjoy the engagement and other ceremonies."
Angad often worried why Dilip was always so irritated. Especially with Naina. Angad has never seen his parents being even a teeny-tiny bit romantic with each other. It was more like Dilip avoided the romantic moments. Angad never questioned them because he felt like he was invading their privacy but he had promised himself that he will ignite the romance between his parents, somehow.
Angad had always made his own decisions and his parents never interfered. 'It's his life, he has a right to live it the way he wants' was their answer when someone questioned them about the amount of freedom they'd given Angad. And so he felt it was only right to give them their privacy and freedom.
He was so lost in his own thoughts as he entered the doors of the security check that he didn't notice someone who was walking towards him from the opposite direction. He snapped out of his thoughts when someone bumped into him and let out a shriek.
