Part 23-
Sujal was taking his coat off and loosening his tie still thinking about kashish. He could hardly believe the fact that he was in love with Kashish. She was the same Kashish who had made her life a living hell and whose life he had made one too. Sujal started thinking time changes people and makes you realize what you were doing was wrong. He was thinking about how lucky he was to have her. Now the only thing left to do was to make her realize her true feelings but how would he do that. It was going to be a difficult job, and he needed help but who could he talk to about it. Then it finally hit him Anjali, he should talk to Anjali she would probably know what he should do. He decided he would talk to her tomorrow. He went to the bathroom to get freshened up. Kashish entered the room and there was no sign of Sujal then she realized he was in the bathroom so she decided to wait for him. She saw that his coat was lying down on the sofa so she decided to put it back. When she smelled the cologne which was still on it, it smelled so nice even though it was strong it was good. She was busy smelling the cologne with her eyes closed when Sujal came outside and saw her. He was amused by her action, what was she doing smelling his coat. He went near her and stood right in front of her and pretended to cough. Which brought Kashish back to her senses. She opened her eyes and saw Sujal standing right in front of her smiling at her. She was standing there like a kid who had just been caught doing some mistake. There was total silence between them and both of them were looking at each other, when Sujal broke the silence by speaking.
Sujal teasingly "What were you doing with my coat?"
Kashish nervously " umm...Sujal...I was"
" I was...what?"
"I was just going to put it back."
"okay."
Kashish put sit back on the sofa...
"I warmed up the dinner....do you want to eat it downstairs or should I bring it up?"
"I'll eat downstairs."
They both headed downstairs to the dining room. Sujal was sitting on the chair across from Kashish who was serving him dinner. She was putting the food on his plate while he was staring at her intently. It was disturbing Kashish and she was getting extremely nervous. She finally decided to say something about it.
"Is there something on my face?"
"No."
"Then why are you looking at me like that?"
" I wasn't looking at you," he replied while lying to her.
Kashish embarrassed replies " Sorry I thought you were looking at me." Sujal thinking obviously I was looking at you.
"so why aren't you eating anything?"
"I already ate"
"Really?"
"yes."
"fine."
Then there is silence again. Sujal is eating and keeps glancing at Kashish. Kashish on the other hand had lied about already eating was thinking about food and playing with her bangles. Then there was a growling noise and it was Kashish's stomach.
"What was that noise?"
"I don't know"
"Really? I t sounded like someone's stomach was growling"now smiling mischievously, "I wonder who could it be?"
Kashish with her eyes lowered down "I don't know...you are just hearing things"
Right then it growls again.
"Why are you lying to me?"
"I'm not lying"
"You so are....you didn't eat and now you're stomach is growling...am I right?"
"Yes."
Sujal then stood up and sat next to her. Then he got out some food for her and then started to feed her. Kashish who was totally shocked by his behavior did not know how to react, while Sujal held his hand with a spoon in it for her to take. She was staring at him like he was some kind of freak.
"Why are you staring at me like that...eat it...come on."
Kashish opens up her mouth and Sujal puts the food in her mouth which she swallows.
"Thanks...I'll eat it myself."
"Okay,"
They both eat together in silence. Sujal can only think about one thing which is Kashish. Kashish on the other hand is so lost on her thoughts about Sujal, is he really changed or is he just pretending? Is he just being nice to me to get rid of me. But he accepted me as a friend. But ONLY as a friend. Will this relationship ever move on? Am I ready to move on with this relationship? All these questions were troubling her. While Sujal was trying to get her attention by snapping his finger in front of her. Finally, Kashish realized he was trying to get his attention.
"What happened Sujal?"
"Where have you been lost...I'm trying to get your attention for so long."
"Sorry....was just thinking about something....do you need something?"
"Yes."
"What?"
"I want you to go with me somewhere."
"Where?"
"To the beach."
"Have you lost it...it's so late."
"Come on...lets go na...and I know you love the sea."
"So?".
"So what are you waiting for...lets go"
Sujal now smiling "you are ready to go with me?"
Kashish replies rolling her eyes "No...I'm going with your bhoot."
"Not funny Kashish."
"Wasn't supposed to be...now let's go."
They walked to the beach since it was so close to their place. It was dark outside with sparkling stars in the sky making a beautiful atmosphere. Kashish was walking toward the shores while Sujal was tagging behind her watching her as she went forward. Suddenly, she just stopped by the sea and started to look beyond. Sujal came and stood by her, waiting for her to break the silence. But no such luck she started to cry instead. Tears were just spilling out of her eyes and there was no way to stop them. Sujal tried to comfort her by putting his arm around her but she jerked it away and sat down on the sand. She was crying abruptly and not stopping at all. Sujal couldn't handle it anymore and decided to ask the reason.
"What happened Kashish? Why are you crying so much?"
There was no whatsoever reply from Kashish, she continued to cry. Kashish had been crying for quite a while now and Sujal could not handle it anymore. He decided to get up and leave when Kashish held his hand and stopped him from going. He turned around to see Kashish holding his hand stopping him form leaving. He just stood there and Kashish kept on holding his hand. Finally, Sujal sat down beside her again and looked in her eyes deeply. Sujal couldn't bear to see the girl he loved with so much pain, so he turned his face away from her. Kashish finally spoke.
"Sujal I don't know what to do. I'm so damn confused and I can't share this with anyone else but you."
When Sujal heard it he was so happy that Kashish thought he was worthy of her importance it made him feel special.
"Tell me Kashish I'm ready to listen," replied Sujal.
Kashish looked at him with her eyes filled with innocent and said " I met Kavya today."
This didn't surprise Sujal because he had seen her with him today. Sujal thinking had she been crying because of him. Did she love him and he didn't love her back. Is this what was all about. IS that the reason she was giving their a relationship a chance because there was no future with Kavya. He had to find out.
"So, is that why you have been crying?"
"Yes and No."
"I don't get it."
"Well, meeting Kavya today turned my life upside down."
"How?"
"Well, I don't know if you know that I have known Kavya for a very long time."
"I know."
"Well, you must know that he was my beast friend even before Sanjana and that we always used to hang out and stuff."
"I know and people in school always thought you guys were a couple."
"How did you know that?"
"Everyone thought that."
"Even you."
"Yes, even me."
"Well, to tell you the truth even I did. I used to think that we were friends but at some point of our lives we would realized how mush we love each other and get married."
"But that didn't happen because of me."
"No, Sujal not because of you. Marrying you was also my decision and I know that even I wasn't your first choice or come to think of it your last but we did get married which changed a lot of things."
"In a good or a bad way?"
"Both. I mean it has made me more mature and responsible which is good. But I have to share a room & also a bathroom. Which is not a good thing" she completed her statement with a tiny laugh.
He was happy that at least now she laughed.
"I think the same goes for me."
"You know meeting Kavya today made me remember my past which I tired to forget."
"What past?" he asked curiously.
"Nothing that big. Stop looking at me like that."
"Fine. What is it?" he said getting impatient every second.
"Since Kavya was the only guy in my life except my dad I always admired him. He was the most honest, sincere and kind-hearted guy I had ever met."
Sujal thinking I had asked you about your past not to praise that loser Kavya.
"And?"
"My life always revolved around him until he left me all alone. Five years back I thought I loved this guy and the way he treated me I assumed he loved me too. I was the happiest girl until my dream shattered. I had always gotten whatever I wanted so I wasn't use to hear a NO. I was total spoiled brat due to the excess of love from my parents & Kavya. I didn't know he didn't love me back he only thought of me as a friend. So, we met at Caf Bistro like usual I expressed my love and he toled me he was leaving." She stopped and let a few tears out the continued again. "That night for the first time I had not gotten what I wanted. It was like an awakening to me that ht world doesn't revolve around me. I was depressed, angry, mad at once. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't blame him or anyone else. I turned into an even bigger jerk after he left. The things I did to you in college was not because of our parent's rivalry or the hatred for you inside me. I think it was because after that I was adamant not to hear no from anyone but you were always there to bring me back to reality either by insulting or taunting me. In a way you made my life miserable but you also made me a better person." She finished smiling at him.
"And I want to THANK you for that. If it wasn't for you then I might not be able to live. Because after kavya left I had no reason to live but your usual taunts and insults made me a new reason to live. To bring you down like I was. I know a self-fish reason but at least it helped me. Man, I feel so much better now," she stood up "and you know what I had no idea you were such a great listener. I also think you might be a great best friend material too. What do you say?" she finished winking at him.
Sujal who was shocked by all the information he had received in the past few minutes was unable to reply. He had just found out Kashish was in love with Kavya and not him. What was a guy to do? He couldn't come between them could he. This was too much. He finally said something.
"So do you still love him."
"That is such a silly question."
"Answer me."
"Yes."
Did he hear her right YES. These three letter were too much for him. He couldn't believe it the girl who he loved, was in love with someone else. But then she continued speaking
" I did and will always love him but only as a brother. I was crying because of him I had hurt you so much in the past which I am so sorry for."
"Even I am sorry. I also made your life a living hell. I was the one who started all this. So it's my fault not yours."
She kept on surprising him every second. She had said brother, yes. He was happy, now he had a chance. This was too good to be true. He had to do something fast. Suddenly, a lighting struck in the sky scaring Kashish, who leaned on to Sujal for support. She hugged him tightly and hid her face in his chest. Then it started raining making the perfect moment even more perfect. They were both standing in the rain hugging each other tightly and their bodies were getting wetter by each second passing. They were hugging each other passionately not letting any space come between them. When Kashish let go of him and looked at him. She looked even better in the rain, he hair all wet getting a few curls. Her sari was completely drenched and was stuck tightly on her prefect shaped body. He looked so handsome wet in her opinion and his eyes were full of passion which was increasing by each second. The lighting struck again sending chills down her spine and the look in Sujal's eyes wasn't helping her either. The rain poured down faster again and then Kashish started to leave when Sujal grabbed her wrist. He started to sing.
Sujal with passion in his voice now "hey hey hey hey hey....

At first Kashish was surprised to hear his voice, it was wonderful and full of so much passion. It sounded so good to her ears. She looked at him and sang in her sweet voice while looking at him.

jalte rahe hum khayalo ke lau se, sahi humne barso judaai
cham cham barasti suhani ghata ne, ajab si agan hain lagai

Sujal's passion was increasing by each second and to him Kashish's beauty was increasing too. He was in love. He came closer to her and looked at her passionately the continued to sing his feelings out.
"na tum hosh mein ho na hum hosh mein hain
behak jaaye na tum sambhalo hamein"
Kashish gave him a pleading look and replied him with innocence.
"gujarish yahi hain tamannao ki
sanam baajuo mein tha lo humein"
He looked at her and picked her in his arms. He was looking at her and she was looking at him. They were both staring at her continuously. The he broke the silence.
"jasbaat ke din aaye mulaqat ke din aaye
hum soch mein the jinke us raat ke din aaye
barsaat ke din aaye barsaat ke din aaye"
She blushed and got out of his arms and started to get wet in the rain. She was making her body get even more wet which was turning Sujal more on. Now both of them were again staring at each other like crazy still getting wet in the rain. In the background the music turns up and the chorus sings "deewani deewani jawani mastani
garm saanson emin toofan hain
deewana deewana sama hain deewana
jara si chahat bhi beimaan hain"
Now she looked away and smiled to herself. She was embarrassed. She turned her face away from him and let her feelings out.
"dhua sa uthe hain kahi jism se
kaho baadlo se baraste rahe."
Sujal looked and her and smiled. He came towards her slowly while singing.
"saha jaaye na yeh judaai ka gum
bhala kab talak hum taraste rahey."
He was now standing right in front of her. He looked at with intensity while she had eyes lowered down she then sang.
"baraat ke din aaye mulaqat ke din aaye
hum soch mein the jinke us raat ke din aaye."
He then replied her, "barsaat ke din aaye barsaat ke din aaye
barsaat ke din aaye
hey hey ......"
They both continued to stare at each other with so much love and passion inside each other. The intensity was growing between them. Sujal looked at her with full intensify and cupped her face. Kashish looking at him, while Sujal was coming close to her with each second passing by. His face was so close to her that she could feel his warm breath on her cold wet body. They both could hear each other's hear beats which was racing up. He met his lips with hers very slowly and gently. It was like the world had stopped for both of them. She closed her eyes letting herself transfer to a different world. She had never imagined kissing him would be like this, he was warm, gentle and patient and not at all aggressive or forceful like she had assumed. When she kissed him back too he was shocked. She tasted amazingly sweet. Sujal grabbed her by her waist puling her even closer not leaving any distance between their wet bodies. Kashish took her hand and passed her hand through Sujal's hair. The rest of the world disappeared. It was as if they were the only two people left in the universe. The rain continued to pour down to rain, but neither of them noticed. They were too absorbed into each other. Their kiss kept on continuing with the rain.
