Nupur was busy talking to Gunjan when her phone rang again.

Nupur: " jee dad?"

Mr. Bushan: " beta wo Mayank aa gaya hai bahar."

Nupur: " jee dad . red wali car bheje hai apne?"
Mr. Bushan: " nahe nahe.. us ke car hai.. kaunse hai ye to pata nahe.."

Nupur: " dad then how will I recognize him?"

Mr. Bushan: " acha ruku…"

Gunjan : " kya hua dii?'
Nupur: " hona kya tha? Dad ne us ko bhej to dia but how on earth are we to recognize each other?"
At that moment Nupur's mobile rang again. It was from an unknown number this time. She usually rejected unknown calls but this time she felt like picking it.

Nupur: " hello."

" I am waiting outside.. black Mercedes.."

Nupur recognized that voice. it was the same hoarse voice laced with arrogance . she felt a strange nervousness engulf her..that voice held a strange magnetic effect…

Mayank saw her first and felt his heart beat fast.

Nupur came towards the car followed by Gunjan. He didn't bother to step out of the car so Nupur herself had to escort her own self. Gunjan refused blankly to sit on the front seat so Nupur had no choice but to sit there herself.

Nupur sat down quietly without looking at Mayank but stealing glimpses now and then. Mayank: " hello. "

Nupur looked up at that and saw Mayank fully for the first time after years.

Gunjan: " hello Mayank bhai."

Mayank smiled at Gunjan. He always liked the girl. She was very sweet to him always and was always on friendly terms with him. He was happyto be back. Finally he gained whatever he wanted.. he had money… he had friends… he had good looks to go along with his money.. but still their was something missing.. however the first thing that Mayank he realized was that even after these years Nupur still had the same strange effect on him...3 years ago , after the club scene he had felt possessive about her.. a feeling he had never experienced..he had wanted to protect her.. to console her shivering form.. he could have killed that boy for touching her…

Nupur: " hello"

Gunjan: " kese hain aap bhai?"

Mayank: " how do I look?"

He smiled and Nupur felt butterflies in her stomach. She shook herself for behaving like an idiot…

Why was she so nervous of him all of a sudden?

Meanwhile Mayank was stealing glances at her. she wasn't changed much. he could still see the innocence in her eyes but her face registered confidence.

He controlled his grin when he realized Nupur was conscious of him. She was constantly touching her hair..she kept her eyes down most of the time…and when they reached home she jumped out of the car.

Watching her leave..seeing her go away developed a strange sense of loss in him… before he could comprehend that feeling , Nupur turned and looked straight at him…

That was the first time when he realized what was missing in his life…

the next day Nupur was sitting in her room when Gunjan came running to her.

Gunjan: " dii! Suna apne? Mein itne khush hoon dii!"

Gunjan hugged Nupur.

Nupur: " haha! tum khush to mein khush! Wese hua kya hai?"

Gunjan: " hehe! Mom wanted to tell you herself but I said," dii ko to mein he bataon ge.""

Nupur was smiling at her younger sister's excitement and thinking that it must be some friend's wedding. Gunjan was crazy about marriages. She was the sort of girl who lived in her own dream world. Nupur did too but after the night 3 years ago she realized life is not a dream.. the question of what might have happened if Mayank didn't arrive on time always haunted her..she had decided she would never let that happen to her sister.. she will make sure her Gunjan will survive in that dream world without it being shattered..

Gunjan: " dii! Kahan kho gaye?"

Nupur: " kahen nahe! Han jee aap bolen ab kya hua?"

Gunjan: " hua nahe hone wala hai! Haye dii meine to socha he nahe tha ye ho jaey ga!"
Kinza: " kya ho gaya batao ge bhe?"

Gunjan: " oho dii ap bhe na! Thora sa suspense to banta hai!"
Nupur: " tum rakho apna suspense apne pass .. mein chale!"

Gunjan: " dii! Acha sunen… diii!!!! apke …. Shadi te ho gaye hai!"

Nupur was blank was a whole minute.

Nupur: " kya? Gunjan! Your jokes are getting worse!"

Gunjan: " dii! I am not joking… apke shadi ho rahe hai! Haye…"

Gunjan went into that dream land of hers and the dreamy look in her eyes and her smile were proofs of that.

Nupur held Gunjan's hand, " Gunjan mujhe kuch samajh nahe aa rahe tum kya keh rahe ho!"

Gunjan: ( almost yelling) "dii! Apke shadi ho rahe hai …wo bhe ….. Mayank bhai se!!!!!!!"

Nupur stared at her sister trying to make any sense of her words.

Nupur was alone in her room trying to comprehend what was happening. Gunjan just told her she was getting married to ..Mayank? but.. how was it possible? And more importantly why was it happening? How could she marry Mayank?

she only left her room when she had decided what she will say to her parents. If what Gunjan said was true than she had to tell her parents she couldn't marry Mayank. Why, it was a common knowledge that she disliked Mayank.

Although she had overcome that feeling because of the favor Mayank had done on her 3 years ago but that didn't mean she would marry him.

Even if she didn't said it , she also had some dreams.. one of them was to marry a man who loved her… who cared for her..who would be kind to her…but Mayank? Mayank was a rude , arrogant man and nothing could change her views on that.

She was still thinking when someone knocked her door.

Nupur went to open it. Her dad stood there with a strange expression on her face.

Mr . Bushan: " dinner is almost ready. You are coming na?"

Nupur: " jee dad.. I was just coming…"

Mr. Bushan stood there looking at her daughter and then said: " I always wanted the best person for you… you deserve it … but I was afraid I will never find such a man… but today I have no fears.. Mayank is just perfect for you.. he is just what u deserve…"

Mr. Bushan eyes were shining with unshed tears. Nupur stepped farward and hugged her father.

Mr . Bushan: " he will keep you happy .. always…are you happy?"

Nupur didn't know what to do but one thing she did know was she could never say no….

Nupur: " yes…I will marry Mayank…"
