They had a wonderful time at lunch. Even though Nupur could sense Mayank was still angry it was covered by the appreciative glances he threw at her. Nupur frequently caught him staring at her and this was enough to keep her in a good mood for the day.

Sam: " So Mayank? Start!"
Mayank raised an eyebrow, " what exactly?"
Sam: " oh come-on tell us about your love story!"
Nupur cheeks tinted pink while Mayank said: " Sam it is high time you grow up!"
his phone rang at that time and saying excuse me he left but he surely passed a warning look to Sam before leaving. However as usual Sam ignored it and turned fully to Nupur: " You speak up Nupur! Mayank falling in love! Now this is something I had lost hope of ever happening!"
Sam grinned while Nupur felt a strange gloominess engulf her…" Mayank don't love me…"
Nupur didn't realize that she had spoken her thoughts out loud.
Sam: " ofcourse he do! Why else will he marry you!"
As soon as Samrat said it he knew he had trespassed. Nupur's face yet again betrayed her.. Samrat realized things were not as greta as they seemed…
A frown crept on his face…

Nupur was shocked by Samrat's statement. She realized she has indeed never pondered over the most important question.. Why Mayank married her?
She felt her heart beat fast… could it be… can Mayank really love her?

Samrat was pondering over Nupur and Mayank's relation when he looked at gUnjan. She was laughing at something and her beauty again caught him. Her face was all innocence completely opposite to the never ending flirtations of Ria.
He again felt that attraction towards her….

Mayank soon joined them and Ria and Pooh took over the conversation.
They reached home late while Samrat went to drop Gunjan, Ria and Pooh.
Nupur was already not feeling well.se could feel a headache building. Mayank sensed something was amiss and said: " You okay Nupur?"
Nupur was touched by the concern she heard in Mayank's voice.
Nupur: "yup..just a headache.. I will go lie down for a while."
Mayank ( trying to wipe away the worry from his face) " yeah..you go get some rest.."
Nupur was walking towards her room when Mayank called, " Nupur…ermmm.. if you need something I am right here.."
Nupur turned around, passed him a smile, " I know..".
By the night Nupur's heachache transformed into fever. Nupur was extremely irritated and difficult to deal with whenever sick and Mayank found the prove of that in the very first hour. She refused to eat anything and was moaning very often. Mayank was constantly by her side . He called the doctor too who prescribed some medicine and complete rest.
Mayank: " I need to give you something to eat Nupur! you need to take the medicine."
Nupur : " please Mayank! I don't feel like eating anything."
Having said that she covered her face with a blanket and kept on tossing and turning for an hour. Her voice told that swore throat was about to follow.

Nupur felt cool air touch her warm face as Mayank slightly displaced her blanket.
Maynak: " enough of childish behavior Nupur! its time you get something inside that empty stomach!"
Nupur sat up and looke dat her husband sitting beside her, " please Mayank I don't feel like eating anything."
Mayank held the bowl of noodles and he brought a spoon closer to her mouth.
Mayank: " Open your mouth Nupur."
Nupur made a face but still obliged and ate quietly.
Mayank: " now that's like a good girl! Now take this medicine and get some rest!"
Mayank was about to get up when he felt a slight pressure on his hand.
Nupur: ' mayank…"
Mayank turned around and sat beside her again.
Mayank; " hmmm…?"
Nupur : " I am sorry for last night!"
Mayank felt his heart melt.. she looked adorable sitting there waiting for his response…he was drawn to her… unconsciously he leaned towards her..
Mayank: " and what am I expected to do now?"
Nupur : " what ever you want.."
Nupur knew she was turning all red …. Mayank's intent gaze was compelling her.
Mayank lightly brushed her cheek with the back of his hand…
Maaynk: "whatever I want?"
Nupur nodded her head , too nervous to say anything..
Mayank kissed her eyes…
Mayank: " phir sochlo…"
Nupur shivered from the contact but met his teasing gaze…
Nupur: " sochlia.."
Mayank pulled her closer and without breaking the ey contact , leaned into her, and kissed her…
For a moment Maynk feared she would push him away but Nupur did something completely unexpected. She entwined her arms around his neck and kissed him back…
Mayank felt a wave of love flow though him… he loved her so much.. it ached to keep his hands off her… he ached to make her his…
When finally Mayank pulled back himself he saw Nupur was all red. Nupur was feeling embarrassed but as soon as she saw his smile she felt a warmth radiate through him… she felt like a wife… a wife who finally succeeded in making her husband happy… it was then that it struck her how badly she wanted Sam's words to be true.. how badly she wanted her husband to love her… how badly she wanted this man to say those words ….
Mayank kissed her on the cheek, " now get some rest love… I don't want the doctor to blame me for this red and hot Nupur.."
Nupur blushed while Mayank chuckled.
