Muskaan sat down right there in the middle of the road not knowing what to do.
Closing her eyes, she remembered all the time she had spent with Uncle, how he always used to take Rahul and her for ice cream, even when their mothers used to say no.
She remembered one time when she had a big argument with Rahul cause he called her toy silly, and she refused to speak to him till he apologized. But Rahul was no less, his ego would never let him bow down, especially not in front of Muskaan. Uncle then had to make amends between them, by telling each of them that the other was sorry for what they did.
Muskaan smiled through her tears remembering all the moments. No matter how big or small their mistake was, uncle was always on her side. He never treated her differently than Rahul. She was the daughter he never had.
Not able to stop herself Muskaan broke down crying as all the old memories pierced her heart.
Rahul walked back towards where he had left Muskaan.
Although he was least interested in seeing her right now, he had a responsibility. To get her home. To protect herself.
Chiding himself for always putting himself in such a position, he looked for Muskaan near the car.
As his eyes wandered over the road ahead of him, he saw her.. sitting exactly where he has left her.
