Nikki screamed seeing the sight and cried "Abhi!!" . She rushed towards him and slid on her knees infront of him ,one hand on his shoulder and other trying to touch his cheek to see the extent of his injury . But Abhi raised his hand from his knee restraining Nikki's hand on shoulder, trying to avoiding her touch by moving his head from side to side, as it was paining immensely. Nikki said with glistering eyes "Oh my god! Abhi, let me see. It's bleeding". Finally Abhi let her place her hand on his chick ,she raised his head to check his injury. Nikki said "Its bleeding from your nose and you have a cut on your lips as well". Nikki's friends were surprised to see that Nikki still cared about him. Armaan was getting angry with Nikki that in spite of what Abhi has done to her, she was still showing concern towards him. Nikki continued to tend to Abhi asking "Are you alright Abhi ?". Abhi nodded his head while inhaling deeply and said "Yes I am fine".

Armaan who had had enough of this, went up to Nikki and pulled her up by her hand. "Don't worry Nikki; he is getting what he has given to you, Pain". Nikki's face strained with tears looked incredulously at him and asked "Why did you hit him Armaan. See he is bleeding". Armaan disbelievingly said "You are concerned for this man who betrayed you? He deserves much more than this. Nikki! He hid the fact that he is married from all of us and especially you". Nikki avoid her eye contact with him and said in a weak voice "No, he didn't betray me. He never hide it from me. He told me everything the day I confessed my feelings to him". Armaan and all her friends were shocked to hear this, they could not believe that Nikki knew everything from the beginning and hide it from them. Nikki saw her friends expression full of anguish but continued "It's me who took the decision whether I want to be with him or not. So if anyone deserves any punishment, then its me. If anyone has lied to you, its me not him". Nikki lowered her eyes as she was left with no more strength to face her friends.

Armaan got disheartend hearing this and said "I can't believe that my best friend lied to me, that she hide such a big truth from all of us. This mean you knew that you were going to make the biggest mistake of your life, you knew very well that its wrong and still you went ahead with it ! That's why you hide it from all of us, so that we don't stop you from committing this mistake. You lied to your best friend for this person, I still can't believe it. See what he made you Nikki, a liar and a fraud. He stole my best friend from me, he changed my innocent friend into a liar". Saying this Armaan left from there while others followed him silently and Nikki couldn't stop her tears from flowing, it seemed there was no end to the pain in her life.

Abhi got up from his place slowly, he could feel Nikki's pain. Nikki kept looking at her friends hoping that may be one day they would understand her, without giving any explanation. All Nikki's fears had come true now; she hadn't wanted her friends to leave her alone, and that was exactly what had happened. She didn't know what stopped her from telling them the truth, whether her fear of loosing Abhi or the fear of loosing their friendship. Nikki didn't want to loose anyone of them, but she also knew that her friends would never understand her love for Abhi.

"Nikki!" Abhi's voice broke her reverie; she wiped her tears with her fingers and turned toward him.

Nikki started walking toward him and asked "First aid box". Abhi replied without taking his eyes off from her "It is in the car". Nikki quietly took out the first aid box from the car and put it on the car's bumper. She took out cotton and put some antiseptic on it to clean the blood. She was busy with her work while Abhi kept gazing at her. Then she took ointment on her finger and tried it to put on his lips but he grabbed her hand mid air. She looked up into his eyes which were pouring into her and felt herself weakening from inside. She was so close to him, tears which she had tried to stop from flowing were making their path down her cheeks. Abhi wiped the tears from her cheeks with his other hand and she closed her eyes at his touch, she slowly lowered her head on his shoulder to set herself free from the pain which she was feeling in her heart.

He put his hand on her head, while the other hand covered her shoulder. Abhi was always a silent comforter for her who gave her strength at hard times. He gave her space to cry her heart out, free herself from the burden which she carried on her slender shoulders. She could forget her troubles in his arms'''Suddenly realizing her closeness to Abhi, she composed herself and drew herself out from his embrace. Lowering her eyes she said "I am fine". Abhi also took his eyes off from her and asked "Is there anything which I can do for you?" Nikki took one step back to create some distance and wiping her tears said "Yes, you can". Abhi turned to her asked "Tell me Nikki. I'll do whatever you want. What do you want?" Nikki looked seriously toward him and said "Leave me. Don't hold me back. I don't want this pain or this relation any more".

From the past six months they hadn't conversed, but still there was a hidden hope in their heart, of being united once again .Now Nikki's words hit Abhi hard inside, this was the only thing that may be, he would never be able to give her. For him it was impossible to leave her, he couldn't even breathe without the love he had for her. His love had becomes his life and how could anyone live without his life. Only she could make that choice, not him. Abhi inhaled deeply and said with heavy voice "If you want to move ahead in your life then you are free from my side. But please don't pressurize me to stop loving you because it's not in my hands". Abhi sarcastically smiled at his own words and said "Actually nothing is in my hands, I can't stop loving you, I can't make you mine and I can't even leave you. But I'll not stop you from going ahead in your life, I can promise you only that !". He immediately settled himself in his car and drove from there, if he stayed any longer ,then there was no guarantee that he would be able to live up to his promise.

Abhi's words brought tears in Nikki's eyes and she realized that they were both stuck in life where they couldn't go back and not even move forward. Both of them had reached at a point in life where they couldn't hide the fact that they loved each other nor could they move forward with that.

Today Nikki had lost everything, her friends who always brought a smile on her face and Abhi whom she couldn't even call her own ,even she knew he loved her a lot.

The whole gang was at Armaan's house, all sitting quietly, disturbed at what they had found out today. They still couldn't digest the fact that their Nikki had hidden such a big truth from them. To break the silence Ridhimma asked all, specially Armaan "Now what next? I mean how long can we stay angry with Nikki. We meet her daily at the hospital, we can't ignore her guys. I know what she did was wrong but she is our friend, we have to support her in all circumstances". Armaan furiously blurted out "Yes she is our friend, she took very good advantage of our trust. I can't believe she is the same Nikki who was with me in college. Nikki, my best friend who never hide anything from me has now started lying ,that too because of that cheap and two timing Modi".

Ridhimma said "Armaan now you being unfair to Dr. Modi. He told about his being married to Nikki, it means that he never had intention to cheated on her. He could have hidden this from her and built a relation but he didn't". Armaan gave her a wired look and said "I am not getting you, why are you still defending him after all that he had done?" Ridhimma argues "I am not defending anyone. I want you to stop being judgmental. I am just saying that he hadn't lie to us, who should have know the truth, knew it". Armaan stayed unconvinced "oh I forgot, you are the one who suggested letting Nikki take her own decision and that Modi is a nice guy. Don't interfere between them, accept Nikki's decision. Blah blah .....See Nikki's has taken this decision. What do you have to say now ?"

Ridhimma said "Armaan you are just looking at only one side of the coin. You are angry with Nikki that she lied to you. But you are not seeing that her fear of loosing Abhi made her to lied to you. She knew that you were never going to understand it". Armaan interrupted "Of course I don't understand it. She knew everything still she made this decision. She is out of her mind, what is she expecting from this relationship. I don't understand?". Ridhimma gave a smile and said "Exactly!, she knows that you never understand it that's why she lied. She did it all only for love". Armaan gave a twisted smile and said "Huh 'love'. Ridhimma said with determination "Yes love. Love doesn't understand logic. Love is a feeling, an emotion which compels people to being with your love, no matter what is right or wrong, whether it is acceptable or not. People say that Love is blind because love makes people forget the world around them, for them world is limited to their partner. Same thing happened to Abhimanyu and Nikki, both ignored the reality of their life".

Everyone somewhere agreed with Ridhimma as everyone in the gang had felt the emotion of being in love, but couldn't nod their head in agreement as it was not acceptable in the society. Armaan also didn't interrupt her this time but still he was not able to forgive Nikki. Ridhimma knew that it was difficult to make Armaan understand, but if he wasn't arguing then it meant that he agreed but would never acknowledge it. Armaan silently moved away from the room and all others also left by bidding their goodbyes to each other.

Ridhimma thought it better to leave Armaan alone as right now he was very upset and not in a position to understand things. She knew he took time to come along but she was sure he will soon.

Next day in Sanjeevani, all the doctors gathered at the nurse station for special announcement to be made by Dr. Shashank. Nikki was standing far from the gang as if she was not a part of it anymore. Ridhimma noticed that no one was making any move toward her so she moved forward to greet Nikki and took place beside her in an attempt to assure her that she will always be by her side no matter what. Armaan and Ridhimma eyed each other showing what their own decisions in this matter were. Others were watching this but didn't understand whom should they support.

Dr. Shashank voice made everyone realise why they were here. Dr. Shashank said "Hello Doctors, Meet Dr. Siddhant Mehta a cardiologist surgeon. He is joining Sanjeevani today. I want you all give your assistance and support to him. Thank you". Dr. Shashank left after giving his best wishers to him.

Sid moved forward for a formal introduction with everyone. Sid said "It is nice meeting you all. I hope we all have a good time together. Dr. Shashank told me that you all finished your internship here and became resident doctor. Wow yaar it's awesome, it means you all know each other from quiet a long time. You all are very lucky to have your friends beside you even in this new phase of life. Otherwise mostly friends get left behind as people move apart when trying to achieve their dreams in life". Ridhimma suddenly jumped into the conversation "You are right Dr. Siddhant but some people don't understand the importance of friendship when they have it" and gave an eye to Armaan.

Sid replied "Call me Sid please. Siddhant sounds like I am an ancient person coming right from a history book". This statement gave everyone a reason to giggle and he added "Well we are human beings and we are made to make mistake. People don't understand the importance of a person until they loose them. Life teaches us as we make mistakes. So it depends on person whether they want to learn before or after they loose". Ridhimma raised her eyebrow impressed "Wow great thought Siddhant, I mean ''.Sid".

Sid laughingly replied "Thanks! Well I used to say those lines to impress girls. I know all girls like it". Armaan replied "Be careful man. She is my girlfriend". Sid said "Oh it means I said this line to the wrong girl". ". Muskaan replied "Yes you are right ! some people are loser and will always been losers their entire life" and give a side glance to Rahul. Sid noticed this and asked in suspicion "May be you have fallen for that loser right ?". Muskaan just ignored the question and looked away, Sid understood that there was some problem going on between her and Rahul. Sid asked Anjali "Well I am starving; you guys also come along with me. Let me give you a treat to our new friendship". All agreed and proceed toward the cafeteria, Ridhimma draged Nikki as well with her to join them who hesitated.

Sid ordered snacks and cold drinks for all of them. Sid said "I have done my internship from New York Medical College and My mom always wanted me to settle in India, to get a sense of the culture of this contry. My mom is a totally Indian dramatic Maa, she kept my name Siddhant so that I always remember the Siddhant of our Indian culture. Can you believe it? Actually her real purpose to send me here is to find a beautiful Indian bride for marriage. She is scared that may be I will find a foreign girl for myself if I live there. Well there is one more reason for me to join Sanjeevani". All were busy chatting with Sid and getting to know him well except Nikki who was sitting there absent minded. Sid noticed that everyone is chatting with him except her. So he couln't stop himself from asking "May be I bored you with my babbling. That's why you are so quiet". His voice forced her to snap out from her thoughts and said "No nothing like that. Actually I am thinking something else". Sid asked "oh then it sure is the matter of love. People generally get lost even in the crowd, so who is the lucky guy?"

Everyone was sitting understanding Nikki's furious mood except Sid who was confused as to what he had said wrong.

Awww a nice update.. So the gang came to know that Niki hid the truth of Abhi being married from them.. Poor Niki, I feel so bad for her.. She is so torn between her friends and Abhi.. She telling Abhi to let her off..🥺 thats so sad ya.. But I loved the answer Abhi gave her.. Way to go.. And its true as well.. How can one stop loving?? Riddhima's words are so right but the gang doesnt want to hear coz they are still in shock of Niki's lies.. But Im sure they will understand it one day.. Sid is such a cool guy.. But Niki was so high on emotions that she herself didnt realise that Sid was pulling her leg.. Her outburst confused him.. I hope the gang understands Niki..
