She is on H1B and she gave her notice to the NY office before her marriage so as of the last day, they would send notice to INS to revoke her visa.

Since she has already accepted the SF job before marriage she has another visa petition going from the SF company, which is the only one grounds upon which she can stay in the US. Else she has to go back to India.

Here they can at least meet once every few weeks....packing her off to India would not have worked.'Trust me I try to research and know all the rules too before I could form an update...and anyways this was a crucial part of the storyline, so I had done quite a bit of information gathering there.
