............now I just had to get away ........from HIM, his magical feel....his captivating eyes......argh nooo...not again.....I just had to GET AWAY!!!

Geet ran out of the class and literally sprinted across the corridor, being careful to not get caught by any staff lurking about.....wouldn't want to get told off that too on her first day and after such a dreaded start to the day (well Tishuu would think otherwise about the day), Geet could really do with nothing else potentially going wrong. But of course...it had to after all this was Geet Handa we are talking about.......aur uski life mein koi hick up na ho aisa toh ho nahi sakta......Tishuu aisa hone nahi degi....anyways.........Geet found that out later when she reached home that evening.

Geet and Pinky were determined to keep their summer busy as they knew that once college started, they would not have much time with each other as their studies were beginning to get tough and they needed to tone down the masti and frolics they would carry out and get "serious" in life.....so they set by doing exactly that by getting jobs together at various places, coffee shops, department stores, and of course the local school where summer school and camps were held so they both helped with the activities, so as to spend as much time as possible with each other. Needless to say they thoroughly enjoyed their and even were offered weekend part time jobs so they could carry on throughout their college years too.

Although both were aware that their timetabling was to be different since both were doing absolutely different subjects, (that is one thing that was different about them, like all other "best frends" they did not want to turn out to be twins of each other and had their own choices in life yet still shared a very close relationship), so yh even though both were going to be busy with their studies, they had promised each other to at least phone one another or meet for lunch or meet at the weekend to keep up to date with each other. That day........Geet had been too flustered and so rushed to Pinky's class just in time as she saw Pinky come out:

Pinky: Geet??? What are you doing here?? And.....why are you soo red?

Geet: Pinky....are you free now?

Pinky: yes I'm free.....but what's up?? Tell me....

Geet: Kuch nai.......er kuch baat karni thi.....

Pinky: kya baat hai.........*seeing no response from geet* acha chal......canteen chalte hain......teri class kab hai??

Geet: Class khatam hogay.......aaj ke liye sirf drama tha....

Pinky: Kya??? Oh wow thats good...toh chall.....

Geet: Kahan? As she was dragged by Pinky towards the gates

Pinky: Meri bhi classes khatam hai........chal hum apni fave place pe coffee peete hai aur phir......*as she mentally thinks of a plan*

Geet: Kya........why didn't you tell me before.....Nahi nahi Pinky.......Coffee chod.......hum shopping chalte hai.....chal bohot mazaa ayega...chal chal..

Pinky: But i thought you said you wanted to talk to me.....aur waise bhi...tere chehre se lagta hai....tere 12 baje hue hai....u said you had drama haina..........oh god Parker ne kuch kiya – kuch kaha?? Bol naaaaa *as she shook Geet from the elbow*

Geet began going over what happened in drama and lost herself but then returned to reality when she felt Pinky shaking her

Geet: huh......nahi nahi....ermm wohh main *she stutters as she thinks of an excuse*

........she knew she wasn't being fair by not telling Pinky but Pinky and Geet had gotten this moment to be together and have their fun after so long and she didn't want to spoil it and so decided to tell Pinky later on at a much different and appropriate time

Geet: arre aisa kuch nahi hai......I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to go shopping........that's all *smiling, hoping Pinky would buy that*

Pinky saw the rather fake smile creep up on Geet's face and instantly knew she was lying but didn't want to question it as she knew if it was worth telling then Geet would surely one day tell her at ease.......she had to be patient....and be happy as they were going to do their fave thing ever....SHOPPING!!!!!!

Needless to say they were total shopaholics!!!!! They spent majority of the day shopping and buying different things and mostly clothes for their college as they no longer had to wear uniform but still decent wear...... flaunting their hard earned cash from their various summer jobs.

After hours of shopping, and grabbing a bite, Pinky's dad gave them a ride back and after dropping Geet home, made their way to their own home. Geet made herself some cold coffee with coke and cold milk(Tishuu says try it guys its actually nice) and sat down to check her timetable for the rest of the week and thought she'd try and start her assignment on drama – might as well get it done now...who knows what other work she may get from other subjects....aur waise bhi...fazool baithe rehne se toh acha hai..........bore toh nahi hogi woh......and since her Mum was in India on a holiday to see her family (she usually used to go in the winter months.....but her naani was a little unwell and so Geet's mum left earlier and since Geet had college soon- she couldn't go but promised to come over in the summer) and dad was at work....she may as well make some use of the time and keep herself occupied.

She sat down and looked into her bag for her planner.....................except....it WASN'T THERE!

Geet looked in her bag for the millionth time but still no planner....she began to get panicked........she had lost it...on her first day......no no this cannot be happening......that is not possible -not in Geet Handa's book it was not......she began to panic even more and looked around the whole house, her shopping bags – everywhere but found it nowhere. Then she thought back and thought maybe it fell out of her bag and instantly picked up her phone to call Pinky.

Ring Ring Ring...the phone just kept on ringing.....no one was answering

Geet hung up and tried again.....still no answer.... Geet began to get a little annoyed....and dialled once more

Ring....ring.....ring.......and just as she was about to hang up...

Pinky: Hello......*breathless, as if she was running*

Geet: oy hello ki bachi...itni dair kyun lagai phone uthane main.....do you realise how worried I am here and you are taking your time to answer the god damn phone – how can you be so lazy huh???

Pinky: Geet shant!!!!!!!

Geet: Kaise shant hojaoon – you knw meri saans yahan ataki hui hai...aur tu...

Pinky: ut oh...Geet shant...deep breaths – come on.....relax.....acha ab bol kya hua....aur dheere se!!!

Geet: Ok ok ok ok...woh actually.....woh........

Pinky: Geet!! are you going to speak or shall I hang up???

Geet: Naiiiiiiiii..ok well you see...erm

Ok I cannotfindmyplannerandIjustwantedtoknowhaveyouseenit *geet said in one breath*

Pinky:*confused* come again.....and dheere dheere

Geet: Ok......I cannot find my planner – I've looked everywhere....and I was hoping....that have you seen it somewhere - perhaps in your dad's car of something.....when he came to collect us from the mall........

Pinky: Oh my WHAT??? Thats bad.........

Geet: Pinky.........tell me..........mujhe aur kitna bura feel karvayi gi??

Pinky: ok......calm down... don't panic....I'll go check the car now...and then call you back...theek hai...but in the meanwhile think back to your day and think when you last saw it....okkk

Geet: hmmm ok...thanks pinky.....*Geet heard someone calling in the background* Koi aya hua hai??

Pinky: huh haan woh......meri daadi ayi hui hai.........and when she came, we had gone outside to greet her- probably why we couldn't hear you call issliye koi utha nahi paya.... sorry yaar

Geet: felt bad......arre nahi....sorry toh mujhe hona chahiye........*falling short of words*

Pinky: no worries......listen I have to go...but I'll have a look and call you back – okay – but relax and think hard about the last time you saw it.... hmm acha I have to go bye bye

Geet: bye....*pinky hangs up* ....and thanks...*but geet realised it was too late* Geet began to feel bad – she shouldn't have screamed at Pinky....bechari zaroor bhagti hui ayi hogi.........

Geet sat on her bed and rested her head on the headboard and began thinking about her planner and events from the day.....

She soon realised, she hadn't needed it after drama because she had no other classes and there was no reason for her to take it out............then it dawned upon her.......DRAMA!!!!

She must have left it in drama.......when the moti had asked them to write down the project dates and brief outline for the project that was due in soon.

Oh noooooooo now what do I do?? I must have forgotten it in all that fluster of........of............and Geet could no longer find words to put a sentence together as her mind kept thinking of what happened in that drama lesson and what she had began day dreaming about but shouldn't have done so in the first place............. jus then she realised something else too.......

When she had, been in the rush to get away from drama and HIM.......she could faintly recall someone calling out for her.........but she was so eagar to get away.....she hadn't bothered too much about it..........uffoooo............I'm such a flop....I should have turned back – maybe someone had seen my planner and realised I forgot it and wanted to give it to me..........oh my....I'm sooo stupid.........

Kya hojata agar main mudke dekhti...........so what if he was there..........it's not like he would have eaten me....why did I have to go away – why was I running away from him..........it's not like I wont have to see him again....not like I wont have drama again aur agar drama nahi toh I'll definately see him in college anyways – ab toh woh yahin hai na........babaji.....usse koi aur college nahi milla – babajiiii tusi ki kar rahe ho..........

Geet was lost in her thoughts when she heard the phone ringing.....thinking it would be Pinky she picked up instantly to let her into the little info she just seemed to piece together

Geet: Helloooessss meri jaan!!!! (Geet said with a smile hoping she could make up for before's rude behaviour Geet always called Pinky by such loving names)

Phone: *silence*

Geet: Hello??

Phone: *silence*

Geet: Hello.........

*hung up*

Thinking it would be something to do with some connection problem, Geet let it go.

The phone rang again – Geet picked up on the 1^st ring;

Geet: Hello

Phone: *Silence*

Geet: *weird* ermm...is anyone there??

Phone: *silence*

(Geet could hear a faint giggle in the background and assumed this was another sad prankster calling)

Geet: Ohhh go get a life!!!! – Gosh!

And with that hung up irritatedly.

If there's one thing Geet really didn't understand – that was why people went out of their way to find time to call someone and then not speak a word – what was the point??

Geet: Aavain bill banane ka shauk hoga issliye – zaroor koi ameer baab ki bigri hui aaulad hogi!!

10 minutes later, the phone rang again – this time Geet had enough, there was no way she was going to bother to pick it up – so she let it go to the answering machine(AM);

AM: Hello, You have now reached the private voicemail for Miss Geet Handa – I'm sorry I don't seem to be around to take your call – but worry not, leave a short message with your name and number and i'll get back to you soon. If its urgent then you can try and contact me on my house landline number by pressing the hash button after the tone. Thanks

Phone: *Silence*

Geet gave up and just laid down on her bed in a foetal position as she usually did that when she felt tired and was feeling a slight chill and couldn't be bother to go through her cupboard to get a jumper. The phone rang again but this time she was least bothered, and just lay there staring at the ceiling and ...........................thinking.........
