The Kidnap
Recap:
Maan was angry, but he got a grip on his anger, because he knew that geet must be going through so much pain right now.
Geet was so angry. Her life was becoming such a disaster. She felt the need to take her anger out on something, so she broke everything she could. When Maan came she just got even angrier and blasted at him. He was still standing there.
"Please! Just Get Lost! I Don't Want To See You!" Geet shouted.

Chapter 4:
Maan looked at her and then, hesitantly left the room. Geet sat leaning against the wall and started crying.
"Stop Geet! Don't cry over that loser! He's not worth it!" Geet said to herself, but the tears wouldn't stop.

It was the next day. Offically, the third day of the kidnapping. This time, Maan made the food. He made Geet some toast with butter. He sighed, and went to the room she was in. He entered. Maan saw her sitting against the wall, sleeping. Maan reluctantly walked over to the sleeping beauty in front of him. He reluctantly tapped her shoulder. Geet got up startled, and gave a cold look when she saw Maan.
Ignoring the look she gave him, Maan said, "Eat this."
"I don't want to," Geet said. There wasn't the same life in her voice. She sounded completely emotionless.
"Zid mat karo. Eat it," Maan said again.
"I said, I don't want to!" Geet said angrily.
Maan looked at her angrily for a few seconds, then said, "I know Dev cheated on you and you're all sad and whatever, but seriously just get over it! And don't forget that you're kidnapped. You're going to listen to what I say!" Maan said harshly.
Geet looked at him with hatred.
"You know what? Just get lost! I don't care what you say! Who are you anyways? Maan Singh Khurana, a bloody criminal!" Geet said, losing her cool.
In an instant, Maan pulled her close by her arm. "And you're dad isn't?" Maan asked angrily.
Geet looked at him confused. "Don't dare say anything about my dad! He isn't a kidnapper! And he definitely isn't a criminal! Next time, think twice before insulting my dad!" Geet said angrily trying to get herself out from his grip.
Maan furrowed his brows in anger. She definitely had no idea about her dad's doings. Maan slid his hand down to her wrist, twisting it behind her back, while she struggled. "You have no idea about what your dad has done. Your dad is a m-"
"Shut up! Don't say anything about my dad. He's the best dad in the world!" Geet shouted furiously.
"This dad of yours, made me an orphan!" Maan yelled angrily still holding her and his gaze piercing into her.
"Don't even go there, Maan Singh Khurana! Look at yourself before accusing my dad of anything!" Geet hissed angrily.
"Geet Handa! I do not want to fight with you. Just shut up and eat your food!" Maan said keeping his cool. He let go of her and walked away.
Geet stood there staring at the food. It was in her best interest to eat, because after all, that Maan Singh Khurana was a kidnapper and was quite dangerous, so she ate it.

A week went by. Their cold behaviour towards each other continued. They talked to each other in a rather rude way. Geet was losing her patience each day. She was awaiting the end of the week when Maan would call her family. Geet thought she might get some clue of Maan Singh Khurana's plan.
The day finally came. It was the tenth day of 'The Kidnap.' Geet felt miserable being locked in something that seemed like a normal flat in a building. Except for the fact, that the building was deserted. She felt suffocated. She rarely came out of the room which she could call hers, because her suitcases were there and she slept and stayed mostly there. All she had for entertainment was the games on her iPhone. She hardly stepped out of the room because, even though she didn't show it, she feared that Maan Singh Khurana guy, a lot. After all, he could do anything he wanted, in a situation like this.

There was a soft knocking on the door. Geet closed her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. Why was he here now? He had already come and given her food. Geet opened the door.
"What is it?" Geet asked annoyed.
"Itni attitude se baat mat karo," Maan said, "I came to invite you to listen to my conversation with your dad, because I know you will eavesdrop anyway." Saying this, Maan started walking off in the direction of the living room.
Geet followed him without replying or saying a word. Geet made herself comfortable, sitting on the couch. She silently watched Maan put the speaker on, and select her dad's number from his list of contacts. Geet for some reason was getting nervous and impatient. Maan glanced at her. The call was waiting to be picked. Geet's heart beat faster with each ring.
"Hello" said the other end.
"Mr. Handa," Maan said. "Have you found any clues about your daughter?" he asked.
Geet looked at him narrowing her eyes angrily. Maan saw and ignored.
"No, the kidnapper is really professional and hasn't left any proof. Nor has he called," said Mr. Handa sadly. Geet also frowned sadly. "I didn't recognize you. Aap kaun?"
"Who you just complimented and who's call you were awaiting," Maan said smirking.
Geet looked at him angrily and shifted in her seat, sitting on the edge now.
It took Mr. Handa some time to realize what Maan meant. "What?" Mr. Handa practically yelled into the phone. "Kahan hain Geet?" he asked impatiently, as a tear escaped Geet's eye, missing her family. "Tum zyaada der nahin bach sakte!" Mr. Handa exclaimed, "Kaun ho tum?"
"Calm down Handa!" said Maan. "You know me. Remember back to years ago." Maan said.
Geet looked at him confused.
"Oh just shut up! Stop talking in riddles!" said Mr. Handa. "Just tell me what you want from me," he said, "Actually, first give the phone to Geet. Who knows, you might just be a fake!"
Maan rolled his eyes, and then gave the phone to Geet whispering in her ear, "Think before you blurt anything. Or simply, just remember back to last time..."
Geet glared at him and then snatched the phone. "Hello d-dad!" Geet said between sobs.
"Geet beta! Are you okay?" Mr. Handa asked.
"Yes dad! Please get me out of here soon!" Geet said.
"Don't worry Geet! You'll be out soon," said Mr. Handa.
Before they could talk any longer, Maan took the phone from Geet. "Do you believe me now?" asked Maan. "Now, you might want to hear what I have to say."
"Hurry! I want my daughter back as soon as possible!" exclaimed Mr. Handa.
Maan smirked, "I'm sorry, but this wish of yours may not be fulfilled." Maan turned to look at a horrified Geet.
"What do you mean? Tell me how much money you want, and give me back my daughter!" Mr. Handa said, losing his patience.
Maan let out a laugh, "It's not as easy as you think Handa. I do not want your money." Maan said.
"Then, what the hell do you want! Tell me, damn it!" yelled Mr. Handa.
"Burn down your mall in Hoshiarpur, Punjab," said Maan. He had a fierce look on his face, as if remembering back...
There was chaos all over. The Khurana family was crying. They lived in Hoshiarpur. They were a rich family. They worked in fields. They had their own crop which was how they earned their money, like all families back then. They had the biggest crop area. But, now their fields were on fire. There was nothing they could do about it. The damage was done. The crops were burnt .Everyone thought it was an accident. But, no it wasn't. It was their family friend, Mr. Handa who got rich and started business all the way in Delhi. The Khurana's fields were on a place where Mr. Handa could build a sucessful mall. But, obviously the Khurana's disagreed. No matter, how much Mr. Handa persuaded, they weren't going to give up their ancestral land. Mr. Handa burned down their fields. He was the cause for the Khurana family's struggle.
But, this was not all. Definitely not. There was more to it. A lot more to it...
"Burn down your mall in Hoshiarpur, Punjab," said Maan.
There was silence on the other end for a while. Geet just sat wondering what all this was about. "You're kidding me, right?" asked Mr. Handa, "Do you have any idea how much money I spent on that mall. That would be an incredibly big loss!"
"The mall, or your daughter? What is more important to you? You decide." Maan said.
"But'"
"And by the way, if you think that this all. You're wrong. There is a lot more to it..." Maan said, hanging up.
There was a long silence and Maan was about to get up and leave when Geet spoke up. "Why are you doing this?" Geet asked curiously.
Maan who was in the middle of walking into his room, slowed down. "Your dad knows... Ask him next time you meet him." Saying this he left.
Geet sat there puzzled. There was definitely some reason to this. The last bit gave her some hope, that she'd actually get to see her dad again.

It must've been at least 2:00 AM. There was a thunderstorm going on outside. The wind was howling and the rain was hitting against the window. There were two rooms in the condo they were in. Geet was in one, and Maan was in the other.
Geet shivered as she sat cuddled in her blanket. She was feeling really cold by just looking outside. Geet had always been terrified of storms. Dhara always used to sit with her and comfort her. A tear escaped her eye thinking of Dhara. She wished there were curtains blocking the window. But, there was nothing. Geet could clearly see outside. She had seen that Maan's room didn't have a window. Obviously, she was too egotistic and at the same time really scared of the man and wasn't going to ask to trade rooms for the night.
2:00 AM turned to 2:30 AM, which turned to 3:00 AM soon. Geet had had enough. She got up mustering courage, wrapping the blanket around herself to stay warm, and slowly walked towards Maan's door. She knocked softly. Obviously, he was in a deep sleep considering it was 3:00. She knocked harder a few times. Maan who's sleep had been disturbed was angry. He got up and walked to the door extremely cranky.
Maan opened the door, "Kya hain?" he asked totally annoyed. He looked at her angrily
Geet tried to not show that she was scared. "Uhh... I can't fall asleep in my room. Can I sleep in this room?" she asked.
Maan looked at her angrily, scaring Geet even more. Maan had always hated when people disturbed his sleep. "Mere saath sona chahti ho?" he asked angrily.
Geet gasped and looked at him, disgusted. "Eww! Shut up!" Geet exclaimed.
Maan let out an exasperated sigh, realizing what the hell he was saying. He shook his head and said, "Okay. You can sleep here, I'll sleep in the other room."
Maan picked up his blanket and started towards the door. Geet sat down on the bed.
"A 'Thank You' wouldn't hurt," Maan said, waiting for her to thank him. Geet being her stubborn self, didn't bother to care and lied down. "Hello! I'm talking to you. Say thanks." Geet pretended she was asleep, pulling the blanket over her and turning to the side.
Maan got irritated with her stubborn behaviour. She was stubborn, but he was no less. He walked over to the bed and lifted her up and started walking out of the room. He was carrying her in his arms.
"What the hell? Let go of me!" Geet exclaimed kicking her legs and not holding onto him. They had reached her room while she was telling him to let go.
"Okay!" said Maan. He dropped her on the bed. Geet landed with a thump. She looked at him angrily.
Geet looked outside. She knew, it wasn't going to stop raining. She sighed and said, "Thanks!" through gritted teeth.
Maan smirked. Before she could stand up, Maan lifted her up, over his shoulder this time. Geet hit his muscular back with her fists, and kept yelling things like 'Put me down!' and 'I know how to walk.' Maan threw her on the bed in his room and walked outside.
Before leaving he turned around to say, "Good Night." Geet glared at him. She was totally ticked off. She rolled her eyes and went to sleep.
_________________________
It was the morning after. Well, it wasn't exactly morning. It was 1:00 PM. Maan had just woken up and Geet was still sleeping. Maan had to leave the house to buy the groceries, but he didn't want to go without telling her. Maan walked into his room where Geet was sleeping peacefully. He decided to wake her up. She had enough sleep.
"Geet!" said Maan. Geet didn't budge. "Geet!" he repeated louder. She stirred in her sleep. Maan let out an exasperated sigh. Slowly he reached out to nudge her by her shoulder. As soon as Maan's hand touched her bare shoulder, Geet quickly sat up in her sleep.
"Huh...What happened?" Geet said, "And why were you touching me?" Geet asked suspiciously moving back on the bed.
Maan rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Listen Geet Handa. I do not have any interest in you! Your not good enough for me anyways, simply because you're a stupid Handa."
Geet sat on the bed glaring at him. Maan watched her fume. "You know what! Your insults don't even matter to me, so why do you bother?" Geet said looking away to the other side in annoyance.
Maan watched as the strap of her nighty on her left shoulder, slid down an inch, further exposing her shoulder. He tore his gaze away. Maan was about to tell her why he came there in the first place, but was continously distracted by the way her strap was continuing to slide. Geet was oblivious to that. Or perhaps, she was to frusturated to pay attention.
"Leave! Why are you just standing here?" Geet asked him.
"This is my room," Maan replied arrogantly. He tried keeping his eyes away from her, but he couldn't help but notice that her strap just slid two more inches down her beautiful creamy skin, without her noticing a thing.
Maan decided it would be best if he left before he does anything. But, right when he turned, he felt a sudden urge to turn back. He walked all the way back to the bed where Geet was sitting still oblivious to the fact that her strap had slid down a quarter of her arm. Geet looked at Maan confused. Maan reached towards her arm. Maan slowly pulled it back up to her shoulder. Geet realized her nighty's strap had been slipping the whole time. She was lost in Maan's eyes as he pulled her strap up.
Maan leaned in towards her while she moved back. "I'm leaving the house to buy groceries. I'll be back soon, don't miss me too much, jaan." said Maan in her ear, like a typical husband would. Then, he pressed his lips on her cheek kissing it and turning to walk out.
Geet snapped back to reality. 'For god's sake! He's a kidnapper!' Geet yelled at herself. She threw a pillow at Maan as he walked to the door. "Idiot!" she shouted.
Geet sat on the bed still, with her arms crossed over her chest. She quickly got up as an idea struck her. She rushed towards the main door, where Maan was about to leave. She quickly put her hand on his arm stopping him.
Maan who had just opened the door, turned towards Geet, who was holding his arm and raised an eyebrow. "What happened?"
"Oh! Umm... I was just thinking I'll come with you too. That way I can help you a bit," Geet said smiling a bit too sweetly. Maan stepped forward, leaning on Geet who was against the door.
"Definitely! Why not Sweetheart?" Maan said, sarcastically adding, "Because, I'm the biggest fool in the world," while moving his face closer.
Geet looked down sighing exasperatedly at her fail attempt. Then suddenly, she realized that the door was open. This was her chance. '1,2,3!' she counted in her head. On three, she quickly pushed Maan off, ready to run, when Maan's muscular arm, pulled her backwards, causing her back to hit up against his hard chest. She groaned at another futile attempt of hers. She tried to free herself. Struggling, Geet pinched Maan as hard as she could on his arm.
"Oww! You junglee!" Maan said flinching in pain.
Taking advantage of the oppurtunity, Geet pushed him and ran as fast as she could.
"Shit!" shouted Maan, as he ran after her.
Geet knocked on doors as she went by running, but it was no use. The building was empty. Maan was approximately 12 feet behind her. Geet was a fast runner, but so was Maan. Geet didn't bother waiting for the elevator. She hurried down the stairs. Geet was running so fast that she stumbled every few steps. Maan had gone into the elevator. Geet realized this when she didn't hear him running after her. She knew Maan would wait for her at the end of the stairs on the ground floor. She stood catching her breath. She was on the 5th floor. Five levels down, Maan would be waiting for her. An idea struck her mind. She turned back and hurried down the staircase on the other side of the building. Her heel broke as she hurried down. She stopped to take her sandals off.
She finally reached the last staircase that would lead to the first floor. Geet stopped to take a rest, incase Maan was there, so she'll have energy to run. I'm depending on you, BabaJi! Bacha lena! Geet prayed in her head and then ran down the stairs. Maan probably found out about her trick because when she reached the ground floor, Maan was standing there, with his arms crossed over his chest. Before he could get a hold of her, Geet flung her sandal at his face and ran outside with the other one. It was really cold outside. The wind was blowing like crazy. She ran like a mad woman. After running for like fifteen minutes looking for people, she reached another building. It was also deserted. It was half built only. She ran to the back of the building and hid behind some bricks. She peeked out. There were no people around and the area was creepy and deserted. The area seemed extremely dangerous. The wind was still howling like anything, blowing Geet's curly hair back
After some time, Geet thought it was safe to come out. Right as she was standing up, A hand from behind clasped her mouth and pulled her back down. She had a feeling it was Maan. She managed to let out a small squeak.
"Stay quiet!" said the voice. Now she was sure it was Maan.
