Part 5

As Adi, Pinky, Dev, and NT made their way back to the table they could hear Man and Geet bickering again

NT: oh lord now what happened, can't these two be civil for 2 seconds

NT said laughing as they sat in their seats

Maan: Geet that was my water you drank from...can't you see that yours is right in front of you

He said picking up her glass

Geet: big deal so I drank out of your precious glass...you have clean on in your hands now so drink out of it now....why must you make an issue out of everything

Geet said as she rolled her eyes

Maan: GEET

Maan said irritated as he knew that she was right

Adi: alright you two there is no problem her Maan just use that glass instead....always shall we order now we do have to be back in the office in an hour

Adisaid as he looked at his watch

As they all looked through the menu pinky noticed Maan still looking at Geet

Pinky: Adi

She nudged and whispered at him

Pinky: look at Maan!

Adi looked over and saw Maan had a slight hint of a smile on his face as he was looking at an enlightened Geet as she was deciding what to choose on the menu

Adi: I think this is going to be an easy plan to get Maan to fall for our Geet...he already seems mesmerized by her...the only thing I'm worried about is Geet do you think she will be able to get over her sorrow and pain

Adi asked concerned as he looked over to Geet who was now like a sister to him

Pinky: yeah that's what I am worried about too....I want Geet to be happy and enjoy life again....I hate seeing her so depressed

Dev and NT caught the last bit of what Pinky said and where a little confused

NT: is everything alright with Geet (she asked concerned) why is Geet so sad all the time

Adi and Pinky looked at each other and didn't know what to say

Adi: woh actually....(Adi said hesitantly) woh kya hain na...

Piny: (jumped in to help Adi) woh actually Geet's family doesn't talk to her and broke all ties with her because she decided to move to Delhi 3 years ago and not get married to some villager in their village

Pinky said as she gave Aid a kick under the table to agree with her

Adi: yah....but don't bring it up with her because doesn't like talking about it

Dev: oh wow that sucks, but that's good that she stood u p for herself don't worry we won't say anything

Adi: thanks

Adi said as he grabbed his phone and texted Pinky

"why didn't you tell them the whole truth"

Pinky texted back

"because I don't want Geet's past to affect her present, it's something that Geet should tell people if she wants to it's not our place to tell them...it's hard enough for me to tell people I lost my brother and them giving me concerned looks....imagine how it would be for Geet if she told people that she lost her husband....people would never leave her alone and constantly ask her how she is doing....by taking this job Geet has somewhat moved on I don't want her to go backwards in life I want her to move forwards"

Adi read this and knew that Pinky was right, he looked at pinky and gave her a smile and nodded his head

Maan: WAITER (he called out loud)...we're ready to order

Waiter: good afternoon ma'am and sir

The water said as he looked at Dev and NT

NT: hi abhay how are you

NT said with a warm smile

Waiter: I'm good...what can I get for you

NT: um I I'll just get the soup and bread

Waiter: and for you sir

Dev: abhay you don't have to be so formal with us...our employees are like our family

Waiter: I know but still it's a little intimidating

Dev laughed as he ordered the same thing as NT...Adi and pinky both ordered a Greek salad with the glazed Salmon

Waiter: and for you sir

He said as he made his way to Maan

Maan: um whatever is you special of the day

Man said as he was busy texting on his phone

Waiter: and for the beautiful lady (The waiter said as he stood my Geet)

Maan shot his head up hearing this

Geet: I don't know actually everything sounds so good

Maan looked as he saw the waiter standing closer to Geet and flipping her menu over as he touched Geets hand and she quickly retracted it back

Geet: for a lovely lady like you I would go with the garden salad that comes with the fettuccine

Geet: (giving the waiter a smile) sounds good

Maan saw this and couldn't understand why he didn't like that the waiter was flittering with Geet

Waiter: good choice...by the way you have a beautiful smile just like yourself

Geet: oh thanks

Geet said a little uncomfortable...abhay grabbed everyone's menus and left to go place their orders

Dev and NT saw how angry Maan looked and whispered to adi and pinky

NT: look at veerji getting jealous

NT said with her eyes wide

Pinky: I know I've never seen Maan like this before

They all laughed as they looked over to Maan....Maan looked up and looked at all 4 of them baffled

Maan: care to join why you 4 are all laughing

Dev: nothing bro adi just told us a good joke

Maan: hmmm

As the waiter came back Maan could feel his blood boiling

Maan: (thinking to himself) yeh mujhe kya ho raha hai....why am I getting so mad when this waiter talks, stands or touches Geet (he shook his head still thinking to himself) it's nothing your over thinking it Man

The waiter handed the food to everyone and finally made his way to the other side of the table

Waiter: and sir here is your special....and last but not least the salad and fettuccine for the beautiful lady....enjoy your food

Maan looked at the waiter and gave him a spiteful look as he took a sip of his food

They all started to eat and enjoy their food and talk..

Pinky: wow that was an amazing lunch...seriously you guys have the best restaurant and cooks in town

Dev: thanks guys

As they were all getting ready to leave the waiter came by with the bill

Waiter: thank you for services whenever you are ready I'll take your payment

Maan: lunch is on me guys

Maan said as he went to go pay

NT: that was nice of Maan...we'll before be head back I'm just going to freshen up

Geet: i'll join you

Geet said and pinky NT and Geet went to the washroom

Adi and dev just sat there talking when abhay came back

Abhay: dev sir can you please give this to Geet when she gets back thanks

he said as he rushed to his next table

Adi: what is it (he asked curious)

Dev: OMG (he said laughing) it's his number

Adi looked at Dev and started laughing as he saw NT and pinky coming back

pinky: what's so funny

Dev: abhay just gave me is his number to give to Geet

NT: REALLY! This is perfect let's see how Maan reacts

Adi: by the way where is Geet

Pinky: oh she's coming she said she will meet us out her

Dev: oh here some Maan just follow my lead guys

Maan came back and sat at the table and wondered where Geet was but didn't ask

Dev: um bro me and NT needed to show adi and pinky something for their wedding so you wait her for Geet

Maan: fine but make it fast we need to head back soon

Dev: no problem...oh by the way can you give this to Geet

Maan: what is it

He asked as he took the paper and placed it on the table

Dev: it's abhay's number he wanted me to give it to Geet...we'll be right back

Dev, NT,Adi, and Pinky got up and left the table and stood behind a statue as they watched Maan

Man picked up the paper and opened it and saw what abhay had written

"from the moment I saw you today I was mesmerized by your beauty...here's hoping that we'll see each other again" Maan read the note as he saw his number

He could feel his blood boiling

Maan: who the hell does this guy think he is giving Geet his number

Maan saw Geet coming to the table and quickly ripped up the paper and placed it under his napkin....Dev and the gang saw this and couldn't believe it

NT: oh he so likes her but doesn't know (she said giggling) don't worry Veerji we'll help you

It was 9 o'clock back in the office and all the employees had left, Geet was still there waiting as to when Man would leave

Geet: does this Maan never leave his office, doesn't she know that other people are waiting for him to leave they can leave to...what does he think of himself God's gift to the world ufff babaji I'm so hungry I want to go home

She looked up at the door and was shocked to see Maan standing there with his arms crossed hearing everything that she said

Maan: I don't think I'm god gift to the Miss. Geet...I just came to say that you lasted today without annoying me so you're not fired and that you can go home I'll see you tomorrow

Get didn't know what to say she was embarrassed that Man heard her she just gave him a faint smile and nodded her head and started packing her belongings to leave..as Man left her office her he heard her worriedly talking to herself

Geet: haaye babaji it's 9 at night there's no bus at this time...and I'm sure taxi's won't be in this area too....what should I do...right I'll call adi...oh I hope him and pinky aren't busy

As she started to dial adi's number Maan came in and hung up the phone

Maan: there is no need to bug adi tell me where you live and I'll drop you off

Geet: sir it's ok I'll manage

Maan: Geet just be quite and listen to me sometimes lets go

As they sat in his car Geet told her that she lives with pinky and Maan headed to drop her off home

Geet: thanks for the ride

Geet said as she rubbed her arms for some warmth...

Maan: how are you cold it's July

Maan said as he turned the heater of his car on

Flashback

Ranbir: Geet honey it's the middle of July how are you always cold I'm burning up

He said as he turned the heat of his on

Geet: you know I'm constantly cold it's not my fault...besides I don't need the heat on

Geet said as she turned it off and grabbed Ranbirs arm and wrapped it around herself

Geet: when I have you holding me who needs the heater

She said as she nuzzled her head on his chest and he kissed the top of her head

Ranbir: I love you Geet always and forever

Present

Maan looked over and saw tears flowing out of Geet's eyes when he stopped the car in front of Pinkys house

Maan: Geet's what's wrong

He said as he lifted his hand to whip away her tears but stopped not knowing why he needed to whip them, not knowing why her crying made his heart cry...he grabbed a tissue from his dash board and gave it to her

Maan: are you ok

Geet: ji sir it's nothing thanks for the ride I'll see you tomorrow good night

Geet ran out of the car and into her house

Maan was just left there dumbfounded not knowing why Geet was crying but even more confused as to why her crying was making him restless
