Pari was amazed by her cousin's determination. The girl had it going on-"Lexie i can't believe you've managed to get through all the books Abhay had in his stude. That's very impressive. We'll have to raid the University library and find all we can on dark magic and then test it out someplace where nobody would dare to go looking for us."

Lexie was exhausted. Reading made her hungry-"I'm famished."

Pari smiled-"U always did get an appetite after studying. I'll go make something for us downstairs."

Lexie saw Pari head out. This was her chance to try out the first incantation of the day. Controlling the actions of another person. Pari would never agree to this so it was down to her to cast a spell on her doll she'd prepared earlier. It represented a certain man in her life. Kabir would be her first test subject. Pari and all the others in the house were easy targets. She needed to find solid proof. Kabir would do her bidding by giving Sid a slap in the face. It was mean she knew it but Sid was a nuisance. Now this was anything but dark, technically it was on the light side of the darkside. Lexie began to call for Sid from her room. She closed her eye's forcing her way in Sid's mind requesting him to come to her place so he could keep Lux occupied with his company. He needed someone with a similar experience to get him through the hard times. Lexie found it amusing how easily Sid had taken her offer. She'd read his mind telling her he'd rather be at hers than at his place with his father. Any distraction was welcome compared to the c**p going on at his home. Lexie began to perform her incantation on the doll using Kabir's bandana around it. She started chanted out the old language as her eyes turned black. She began surging energy within herself charging it towards the doll. Lexie found the more she pushed the more she wanted to go further. She reined in her enthusiasm to avoid going in too deep. The dark side was too tempting. She had to keep control of the situation by herself than rely on others to do it for her. Now it was all set. All she needed was to wait for the boys to do their thing. She heard Pari coming up the stairs. Lexie quickly hid her resources away under her pillow. Lexie took down the guard spell. Pari would be on alert if she sensed it around her.

Pari brought in some Pizza-"Here U go. I brought yor favourite with extra jalapeno's and olives."

Lexie took the tray off of Pari placing it at her bedside table-"Smell's gorgeous. Thanks for this Pari. How is Lux doing?"

Pari's face went grim-"I think it's starting Lexie. He seems to be showing signs of the change already. We don't have long before he transforms fully."

Lexie's eyes remained unmoved by this news. Only her heart had felt the stab-"I don't know what to do any more. I'm just clutching at straws here Pari. I don't want to discuss this in front of Lux in case i break down in front of him."

Pari watched Lexie's body language-"Lexie it's Ok to release some tension. Crying about it doesn't make U weak. It lets out some of your built up frustrations making your mind a little lax."

Lexie disagreed with Pari-"Crying doesn't solve anything Pari. Actions speak louder than words. We should get on with taking down our enemies. All of them in one go if possible. We've already started preparations for the war."

Pari handed Lexie the Pizza in her hand knowing full well talking about their enemies would sabotage Lexie's appetite-"Eat first then we can debate all we want on how to tear down the opposition Ok. I'm hungry too."

Lexie takes a bit into her Pizza-"MMMMMMnnnn this is delicious."

Pari took a slice and starting eating away. Then she takes her diet Coke sipping it down-"Now i feel reenergized. Are U coming down?"

Lexie nodded-"We'll finish up here and then head down. The others don't suspect anything do they?"

Pari shakes her head-"No they are too busy dealing with Lux. Chand and Haseena are with him right now checking out his vitals. Abhay's trying to keep Lux from attaking them for annoying the hell out of him."

Downstairs Abhay has Lux pinned down as Lux starts to feel his bones shift around making cracking noises. Lux growled in pain, screaming down the mansion causing Lexie and Pari to run down the stairs to see what the commotion was all about? Chand and Haseena had grabbed on to Lux's arms and legs on the table. The girls were in shock when they heard Lux's ribs crack. His eyes changed into a black colour. Sidharth made his entry at the Raichand mansion. Pari used her telekinetic powers to open the door. Sid came and ran straight to Lux who was at the turn at an alarming rate. His skin had turned into a bluish colour.

Sid reassured the girls after watching their dread in their eyes-"Don't worry this stage will pass soon. Call it the beginners path to weredom. I've just roughed it out in the woods on my way here. Which is my reason for looking as if i've been at war with myself."

Chand noticed Lux's violent convulsions calmed-"I think we can loosen our hold on him now. The boy is over the worst."

Lexie burst out-"He's over the worst? What do U call a full blown attack?"

Abhay let go of Lux keeping his eyes firmly on him-"Lexie Dad meant Lux's condition has calmed for today. We are trying our best."

Lexie went closer to her brother stroking his hair with her fingers-"Look at him. i've never seen him like this before. He's like a different person."

Haseena huskily voices-"With this new complication namely his hybrid state my dear U have to expect a change in personality. We will all have to adjust with Lux. He will find this transformation challenging on a personal level. He will need us to be strong for him. i know its difficult to watch him like this but imagine how frightening it is for him." Both Chand and Haseena leave the kids to talk.

Sid-"Lexie he is a strong person. He can handle anything U throw at him. Fact is we have to bear and grin this out. The only hope we have is the transformation gets easier once we've fully morphed."

Pari went in the kitchen to get Lux a damp cloth to wipe away his sweat-"Bro U will be fine. Just rest a little."

Abhay took Lux in his arms taking him up the stairs to a spare room. He covers him up with a blanket. Abhay watches over Lux with his unexpressive eyes. Lux's deteriation had knocked him a little. It came out of the blue. It started with a random outburst as Lux's temper got the better of him. Lux hurled some abuse at Chand for prodding him with his torturous instruments. They were in fact a scientific method to determine skin depth, sweat glands, taking bloods, the usual precautions Chand had often used to dissect a werewolf to find out their weakness's. Abhay at the time was against their way of torturing another being for the joys of science but it came to good use for Lux. They were uncovering some interesting facts within a few days time. Then Lux crouched down to the floor in pain writhing away. Abhay had rushed straight to him not knowing what to do. Abhay had been relieved when Chand and Haseena took over the rest. Lux was in for a ride of a lifetime. Abhay hoped Lux could handle what was coming his way. The road ahead was filled with rough. Lux looked so sweet as he lay asleep.

Abhay whispered in Lux's ears-"We are always here for U Lux. No matter what we will always be here for U." He kissed his forehead and left the room switching the lights off.

Lexie felt Kabir draw close to the mansion. She ran up the stairs to get the doll down in her cardigan.

Abhay heard Kabir at the house. This was unusual. Kabir normally ever popped round with Misha and Piya. They weren't with him. He sure need Piya with him this moment. Her beautiful normally made him find solace. It always lit him back to life even when he was feeling down. Abhay witnessed Kabir slap Sid (Lexie had made the doll do its work). Sid grew mad at this insult. How dare he lay a hand on him. Lexie used her magic to keep both men apart. She kept Sid still in his position. Lexie took Kabir away to the study room asking him to remain there.

Lexie returned back to the others-"Kabir's feeling the blues. He is mortified by his actions. Sid i need U to calm down. Pari will U make him a coffe please. Thanks and Abhay U might want to open the door Piya and Misha are a block away from here."

Abhay heads to the door while Lexie reveals the truth to Sid-"This was my doing. I'm so sorry. I know it was mean but i was testing out if i could control another person."

Sid was miffed-"It was a cruel thing to do Lexie. I could have punched his lights out. Poor man has no idea why he slapped me. No wonder he's mortified. Lexie whatever you're meddling in it can't be good. U can't use people. It's not who U are."

Lexie didn't need a lecture-"How do U know who i am? None of U really know apart from my brother and Pari. Please don't say anything to anyone. If U value our friendship then you'll do as i say."

Sid saw Lexie's eyes were filling up-"I don't know if i wanna be friends with someone who wants to slap the hell out of her friends. But because its U i'll let this slide. Lexie i may not know U but i sure want a chance to get to know the girl behind the hard exterior."

Lexie-"Sid U know if i wasn't into Kabir then maybe but i like him a lot."

Sid had to give it a shot-"I understand. Lexie never pull a stunt like this again with me or any of your friends even if they deserve it. I mean it or i'll blow your cover."

Lexie smiled-"Deal. In return i'll help U with Piya. Don't worry i won't make her love U against her will. She'll do it of her own accord. Besdies Abhay's on the case already."

Sid beamed-"You guys really rock."

Lexie grinned-"I know"

Piya arrived with Misha in tow. They were greeted at the door by Abhay. Misha gave Abhay a hug giving him her mischievous little grin. She let him go and went n to give her brother a hug. Then Piya gives Abhay a much need hug. Piya had found the warmth she missed throughout the entire day in Abhay's arms. While Abhay got lost in Piya's embrace. The stress of the night forgotten for this one moment with Piya's smile illuminating his world with light.

Piya broke the silence-"I missed U so much Abhay."

Abhay's eyes normally were expressionless were mixed tonight almost dark-"Abhay has something happened? Is it something we can discuss in the house or shall we go for a walk outside."

Abhay-"Do U want tp take a stroll round the estate? It's a little dark outside."

Piya's eyes twinkled in mischief-"U have too many people in here. We won't be able to do anything in private. Besides i think it's romantic taking a long walk with U in my arms what more do i need?"

Abhay turned around to speak to the others-"Guy's Piya and I are heading out for a while. Will see U later OK."

Misha joked-"Yeah more like getting some alone time together. I know how U two work"

Lexie waved them off-"Be careful Abhay. I don't have to say why do i?"

Abhay-"Yes Dadi anything else you'd like to add?"

Lexie gave a wide smile-"No you're free to go."

Abhay shut the door behind him Piya wlks step by syep with Abhay. She occasionally glances at him then looks away trying to figure out what's unsettling Abhay. He was usually so calm under pressure. While Abhay could tell Piya was going through her own issue. Piya reached for Abhay's hand. Both headed out of the estate.

Piya loved the night life. It was so peaceful. Shame their moods remained so dull-"This feels good the fresh air. I've missed the simpler things in life. Don't have the time any more to enjoy taking time out."

Abhay knew what Piya meant. He was always on a constant move-"I know. Life keeps us throwing surprises at us lately. Is there anything U want to talk about Piya? I know something's upset U."

Piya laughed at her own problems which were nothing compared to Abhay's-"It's my Mr. Dobrial. He's found out i'm his daughter. I kind of hurled a tirade of insults at him. not feeling too good about the way i treated him."

Abhay took Piya in his arms caressing her gently-"Piya don't feel bad about expressing yourself. U only did what was any hurt person would have done. I know lashing out is never the answer but sometimes it lightens the built up pain we have stored up. I'm sure he'll understand. In time U can both move past this."

Piya loved the sound of Abhay's voice. It was so hypnotic-"Abhay i have no room for a fther in my life. I have all i need and that's U. Misha and Panchi as friends is a bonus."

Abhay-"What about Sid? He's your brother too. U can't ignore him."

Piya-"I know. He just reminds me of him."

Abhay-"U need to get past all this Piya. Lifes too short to hold a grudge. Sid is innocent in all this. He doesn't deserve this fury. Give him a chance. Let him be a brother to U."

Piya looked away-"I don't know i i can. Abhay. I've spent my life without depending on anyone. Now i'm surrounded by people. It feels wrong."

Abhay-"Piya do this for me OK? Family means everything to me. I want U to experience the positive side to it rather than only see the negativity. Do it for yourself. U owe it to yourself. U have a bigger heart than anyone i know."

Pia gave Abhay a kiss on his lips-"U always say the right things to me Abhay. Fine i'll give him a shot. Besides he's been hanging around your place a little too much for my liking. I can't even be myself around U with him there."

Abhay gave a meek smile-"See U already have some connection there. A sister wouldn't normally be comfortable kissing her boyfriend in front of her brother."

Piya gave Abhay another kiss-"I think i should take advantage of this time alone then."

Abhay kissed Piya back passionately breaking it off-"These kisses seem to be getting too hot for me Piya."

Piya blushed-"It's not my fault your such a good kisser and too hot to resist."

Abhay joked-"U got that right. But i have the hottest girlfriend ever."

Piya-"I wish we could always be together Abhay. For life. I always want to be with U."

Abhay felt the same-"I know Piya but right now its important U get yourself sorted."

Piya-"So what's going on with U Abhay? Is it Lux?"

Abhay nodded-"He's started his morphing. This is why i am more adamant on U being there for Sid Piya. Lux and Sid need the people they love around them. It's gruelling emotionally and mentally for them to change so brutally. I don't want to scare U but it's not a pretty sight. Lexie was shaken inside. I'm worried about them."

Piya-"Abhay we'll be there for them. No matter what. Ok. We'd better head back. I'm a little tired."

Abhay grinned-"I guess Arnab must have worn U out. Do U want a back ride. It's fun."

Piya enthusiastically beams-"I love the mad. Come on what are U waiting for?"

Abhay placed Piya round the back and raced all the way home. They saw Misha, Sid and Pari watching True Blood on the HBO channel. It was a show on the supernatural beings. Piya began watching it to understand the nature of werewolves for Sid only they were shapeshifters than werewolves. She loved Eric the Viking Vampire, he was her favourite. Luckily they came to the end of the credits.

Misha-"Piya U missed an exciting episode. Sookie is a faery. Dude i did not see this coming. Bro found it a little too graphic."

Sid-"Mishoo we'd better head home. I'll drop U off."

Piya waved an olive branch towards Sid-"U don't mind dropping me off too do U?"

Sid smiled back-"No. Come on Kabir. To show there's no hard feelings i'll give U a ride back."

Kabir apologetic again-"Seriously bro i don't know why i did it. A moment of madness. I'm sorry again."

Sid-"For the umpteenth time U are forgiven. Now head out before I leave U behind."

Piya gives Abhay a hug-"Bye."

Pari waves them off.
