Abhay took Piya to the study room. He breathed in a sigh of relief. The night wasn't a total washout. Chand had reined in his temperament with Haseena's support. The lady was a godsend. Abhay could feel Piya's curiosity take over her mood. He couldn't lie to her nor could he tell her the whole truth not without looking like he'd done a bunk from a mental asylum. Abhay showed Piya some of his interest in architecture. He showed her some of his plans that he drawn for Dehradun. It was still a working progress. It was something to put Piya's mind distracted from the portraits.

Piya glibly blurts out-"Abhay your parents are interesting people. Eccentric comes to mind. I get the feeling theres more to U people than meets the eye. There is something U are hiding from. I can feel it in my bones but U won't say anything. It just makes me want to know even more."

Abhay-"Piya this isn't the right time or place to be disclosing my skeletons. U are still thinking about those portraits aren't U?"

Piya-"Is it so bad that i want to know little facts like U draw women who i might are not your girlfriend apart from the last picture. Wouldn't U want to know if i have a hidden secret waiting to come out. I can handle it. I've had enough experiences in my life to be able to handle anything U throw at me."

Abhay-"It's not that i don't want to share it with U. More like U need to be ready for it in due time. Sweet Piya please listen to my pleas. U will find out everything. I swear. I know i'm being cryptic but it's the way the cookie crumbles in my weird life. I can't let anything spoil it. Not this time."

Piya-"Sometimes U scare me Abhay. U make this sound like ground hog day one where only U know what going on while we all catch up with U. I want answers Abhay. I'm willing to wait for them."

Abhay-"Good now can U at least tell me how U found my other master piece." Pointing at his plan.

Piya-"It's big and bold. I love it but i doubt the people of Dehradun are ready for a big development like this. Maybe in a few decades time. I'm kidding. I'm sure once you've tuned things around it will be beautiful. U are a man with many talents Abhay i am a lucky girl."

Abhay-"I'm glad U like it. As i said before it's still in the development stage. Not quite finished yet. It's getting late we'd better go take U home."

They head out of the study. Chand looks pensive as he'd heard about Piya wanting answers. He gave Piya a handshake. Piya shivered slightly and went to Haseena. She gave Piya a warm robotic smile. Piya could see her eyes turn a different shade of brown. They looked like the night. Haseena turned away quickly averting her eyes away from Piya.abhay came between them taking her away from the premises.

Haseena-"It was nice to have finally met U Piya. This time on a more personal level. Hopefully we haven't been too overbearing with our quirky behaviour. Like we said earlier we don't socialize unless we have to but you've been an absolute delight."

Piya-"It was nice meeting U as well."

Abhay-"I'll be back don't wait up for me."

Abhay took Piya in his car. While he drove her Piya wanted to know why Haseena's eyes changed colour. in fact come to think of it Abhay's did the same but Piya had always been in awe of how perfect looked she'd never seen anything different.

Abhay lied through his teeth. He wasn't prepared for a barrage of questions but understood Piya's plight-"Haseena wears contacts. They give off a different shade of colour depending on the lighting. We are big on contacts."

Piya-"U guys are so cooky its not funny. It may sound plausible to U but i'm not dumb Abhay. I do have some intelligence in me."

Abhay retaliates back-"Well what other explanation do U want me to give U. That we're vampires hiding out in our bat cave sucking the life out of civilisation as we speak. Monsters that go bump in the night. Will that make U happy? I can't tell U the truth. U know this. Its for your own good."

Piya laughs-"Now that to me would make more sense than the contacts storyline except vampires don't come out in the day. Plus U would have sucked me dry by now. Abhay U have such an over active imagination and i thought i was bad."

Abhay could feel himself sink. He told her the truth in a jokey kinda way and Piya didn't believe him. Just his luck. He'd rather she laughed at that than scream out the car.

Piya-"Abhay i get it U want some things to yourself. I'll get over it. U got to admit the vampire thing is kinda funny. U should have said Your a witch i'd have believed U then. U can run fast. U know practically everything there is in College compared to our tutors. Brilliant at sport and now U have a flaire for drawings ."

Abhay sat in silence while Piya kept on going on about her usual discussion. Panchi's engagement party was set on Wednesday. She was excited and wanted Abhay to come as her date. Piya got out of the car. Abhay walks her to the door deep in thought. He had to hand it to Piya the girl was on the right track. He'd underestimated Piya by a mile. She was special after all.

Piya-"Oh Abhay U look pretty Hot when your deep in thought. When your eyebrows arch like that it makes it hard to say bye every night. Then again Abhay U really do take my breath away." Piya plants a big kiss on Abhay's lips lingering a little too long. "That was a special Kiss so U remember me through the night."

Abhay goes back to his Mansion. Piya was getting too close for comfort. He didn't want her to find out yet. He knew Chand and Haseena were trying to sus out Piya but they were dumbstruck on how their powers didn't have the effect they wanted. Piya wasn't under their compelling spell. He was too aware on Haseena's sudden burst of hunger for Piya. Good job he was prepared for this. Piya's blood was potent just by the smell. He could only wonder how her blood would taste like.he still remembered Maithali's blood on his lips and Luna's they were like a drug.

Haseena-"So U drooped the girl off i presume U haven't told her everything. Our existence depends on it. Our kind will not take this U know that Abhay. She is getting too close to the truth. U have to do something."

Abhay-"That's what i want. But not like this. I don't want to scare her. It's bad enough U were hanging on by a thread. She noticed the change in colour of your eyes. I made some excuse about the contacts U wear."

Chand-"Piya is an interesting girl. She appears strong on the outside. I am still making my mind up on whether she can handle this mad world we live in. Can she fit in as a human?"

Abhay shouts back-"She will fit in as a human. I don't want her turned. Am i understood? I want her to remain pure. Untouched by our nature. She's too delicate. i'm going for a quick hunt and when i come back this topic is closed."

Chand-"Fine but i fear one day U will have no choice in the matter."

Next morning

Piya, Misha and Kabir head off to College. They meet up with Ruhi and spread the word to their friends about the do they have at Misha's house for Panchi's engagement. Its the official do. T wants to go but needs an invite which Misha keeps from her. Misha hated T to the core. The brat had gotten on everyone's nerves. She hated her taunts and revelled in teasing T.

As they proceeded to go outside their class they saw a girl lying on the ground badly bruised. Piya took a closer look. It was Sheila. Wasn't Sheila picked up by her uncle? Thats what Abhay told her. Kabir advised the students not to move her just in case. The girl had her wrists slit open. Abhay passed through the streams of students looking away a little while his eyes changed colour. he slipped on his shades to hide his eyes. Abhay zoomed in to the nurses officeto get some help. Danish and Panchi saw all the commotion. They were shocked to see Sheila. She was a year below them. Panchi had come to invite some of the teachers at her party. The nurse checked the girl out thoroughly.

The nurse-"We'll have to take her to a hospital and fast."

Kabir-"We've already called for help."

Piya-"Poor girl. First her suicidal attempt and now some monster did this. I could kill that creep"

Panchi-"Whoever did this needs to pay. The nerve to do this on college grounds."

Abhay- "She was placed here by whoever did this. Look at the tracks leading out. She must have been here sometime."

Kabir-"Good observation man. He's right. This has never happened before. Why would anyone want to hurt this girl?"

Piya-"Guy's her ex was quite vocal about his opinion on how Sheila could get rid of the baby."

Misha-"The guy needs locking away. Sheila man what was she thinking. I don't condone this behaviour but girls like her make me sick for falling for sadistic men. I mean knock some sense in."

Panchi-"Love is blind Misha U will understand when it happenes to U. We got to report this to the police. They can handle this. For now we need to go check up on Sheila and ring up her relatives."

The ambulance arrives taking Sheila away as the students look on. Danish looking shifty weasels his way out of the crome scene while Piya keeps a close eye on both Danish and Kabir. One of those guys were the culprits and it was up to her to get justice for Sheila. Make them pay but which one was it. Kabir Piya trusted fully the guy couldn't hurt a fly although he did have a record of dumping the most girls while Danish was with Panchi for a long time. Piya recalled the conversation she'd heard the night Sheila tried to drown. The man was already engaged which led to her answer. The guy was Danish. He wouldn't do that to Panchi would he? Who knew? People changed colour all the time. Piya didn't know how but she had to find out from Sheila.

Abhay could feel a faint humming sound with all the noise. Someone was calling out to him. Abhay did a fast U turn and his worried face soon turned to a grin as he was faced by two of his girls. One of them hugged him so tight in front of all the students and a livid Piya who was going to throttle the girl for even touching Abhay as if she was going to lure him in her world. The girl let go and then the other one gave Abhay a huge kiss on his cheeks making Abhay smile even more. Piya could feel her face go red out of anger. A guy came in the frame frowning at Abhay. He looked mad. Misha, Panchi and Kabir along with T and Ruhi were gobsmacked that Abhay had any other girl in his arms other than Piya.

Piya dragged Abhay away from the two over zealous. How dare they touch her man. She had enough on her plate with Sheila being in critical condition without having to deal with crazed women after the one person Piya held closest to her heart and Abhay was lapping all this up. Well he was going to pay for this big style. For now she'd deal with these two hussies. She glared at Abhay who was smiling mischievously. Abhay knew he was in trouble but he was pretty confident that Piya would see the fun sude to all this. Then again Lexie and Pari sure knew how to make an entrance. Wrong place at the wrong time. He could see the rage in Lux he was mad but he never called for him to come he made his own choice.

Piya-"I don't know who U girls think U are but have U no shame higging strange guys like that in public. He's already taken."

Misha-"Ditto. We've got enough girls vying for single guys here. U want to seek single guy's girls. The man's Piya get that sisters."

Lexie-"Piya U must be Dada's girlfriend. I mean Abhay's right? Long time no see hey."

Piya looked puzzled-"U girls know Abhay?"

Pari-"We're family or can U not see the resemblance?"

Piya tried to see what they were on about. The girls looked like each other but not so much with Abhay. They had the same eyes. Hazel eyes stared back at her. The guy on the other hand could have passed off as Abhays younger brother. Same build, same height but he was leaner. Dressed like well a male version of Misha. He sure didn't seem to like Abhay. The stare off was giving her goosebumps. She saw anger in the eyes. What was this guys problem. Lexie read Piya's facial reacyions.

Lexie-"Sorry we didn't introduce ourselves. I'm Laxmi but U can call me Lexie, Laxman's sister but we call hum Lux he's not keen on old fashioned names like me. That over here is or cousin Pari. We are Abhay's relatives. U could say he's like a grandfather to me."

Piya-"U guy's are for real right? This isn't some kind of funky thing going on here. He's never mentioned U before."

Lux-"There's a reson for that we don't like him."

Lexie-"What my rude brother is trying to say is his family and ours don't mix. We're like oil and water but Abhay we love."

Lux-"Speak for yourself."

Pari-"Ignore him. He's just sad he had to come with us. He doesn't like Lexie on her own. They are twins. He doesn't like any guy even if they're his own cousins getting in the way."

Misha-"Abhay dude U really are a dark horse. Well U guy's came at a convenient time."

Pari-"Misha right! We saw that. Such a sad thing poor mite. She'll be fine though."

Misha-"How did U know!"

Lexie-"Abhay told us the mouthy one is Misha and the guy is Kabir."

Kabir taken back by all this beams-"Nice to meet U."

Abhay-"Piya i'll explain later. Chand doesn't know about this so don't go looking for trouble Lexie."

Lexie-"Would i dare do that. The great Chand. The guy is like an eclipse."

Piya giggles-"So U guys are really family then."

Lux-"Unfortunately Yes."

This one i feel i put a little too much action. Sheila being attacked to the intro of Abhay's family.
