Abhay in the Woods
While Piya is being cared for at the Dobrials which was a relief. Piya couldn't stay in the hostel alone nor be at his mansion. Chand was unstable over the century he'd hardened his heart seeing Abhay in pain was too great. Abhay had gotten in touch with Lexie against his better judgement. The Only person who could help him. Blood was thicker than water that was what the saying was and te bond he'd shared with his estranged family though weak at times due to his nature his link was strong with his progeny. Lexie was super special as were the rest of his family but she had something extra. He was proud of her and watched out for her and her siblings over the years until they were strong enough to take care of themselves. Her brother Lux was powerful in his own right but powers were generally poured into a female as they were deemed as the eternal Mother. It was a wiccan thing. Abhay recollected from his memory what it was like to practice magic. He'd missed that aspect of his life though he sucked at casting spells but his progeny had inherited their true power from Hecate and adding his blood to the mix made them even more powerful. Lexie and Lux were fully fledged powerful witch and Warlock. He just hoped their mother had calmed down after the shock he'd given her 20 years earlier. Abhay knew Lexie was dying to meet Abhay much to the disappointment from her mother and Lux would follow his sister anywhere. Abhay wasn't going to risk his family for Piya but extreme measures were needed to stop his foe. She was too strong for him or his vampire clan to stop. She had probably sensed where Abhay was or worse yet Piya. On top this problem with Maya. He had too much on his plate. Maya was safe in hospital. She was suffering from flu like symptoms but was recovering well. Her uncle was collecting her from the hospital.
Abhay closed his mind at the edge of the forbidden land he was warned not to enter. Problem was that he'd broken that line of never entering this are thanks to Maya's suicidal incident which forced his hand to save Piya. Now the gloves were off and he was scared for the unknown. There was going to be hell to pay and this time there was no stopping them from coming after him. Lexie can U hear me? The silence was beautiful until he could hear faint tingling sound in his mind. The message wasn't clear but the longer he concentrated the more stronger the reception got. Abhay triedharder to maintain this mental link. He could feel a static buzz encircling him with lights in his mind. He captured the image of a beautiful girl with raven hair. He showed her an image of Piya. Then shoot a holographic image blasted out of his mind. Lexie was impressive with her Wiccan powers growing day by day. Then Abhay could hear Lexie speak though her lips weren't moving. "Give me a few days we are coming." It worked. This was the first time he'd done this but after 3 hours of trying not a bad days work.
Piya at the Dobrials
Arnav ordered in a Chinese take away for the whole family and Madhu made Piya her famous Chicken soup. The atmosphere was warm. Part of her felt jealous of this closeness the Dobrials had. She wished her fate were different but then she'd never had met Abhay. He was her world. The image of Abhay in her mind was of her fearless warrior Prince always coming to her rescue. Her Special man only made for her. One she'd never share with anyone. Piya wished her Mom was here. She used to cry to sleep every night before she came to Dehradun but since she's been with Abhay that pain has eased until seeing the Dobrials in the flesh. Piya's heart ached for her mother. Piya was feeling much better now but she wished Abhay would ring in he was gone for too long. Piya was worried about Abhay. Was he in trouble? He tried to hide his fears but Piya knew Abhay had done something to annoy his father Chand. Abhay never really spoke about Chand or Haseena as parents just in passing like they weren't his family members. The comparison between both families were as clear as day and night. The Dobrials were amazing people cared for her like she was their daughter so much love they had to give yet Abhay's parents seemed strict and harsh no wonder Abhay never spoke of them. Piya had an inkling she was about to find out tomorrow provided she was a 100 percent. Piya saw how Misha was around her Dad and how Panchi was with her Mom again. This was overwhelming the perfect family portrait and she was watching them as an outsider. Mrs Dobrial noticed Piya's lost look in the eye.
Madhu-"Is everything Ok beta? U seem so quiet. Do U need anything?"
Piya-"No Aunty U guys are so kind taking me in like this. I feel much better thanks to all the love and care i've been getting." Piya beginning to well up. "I'm just remembering my Mother and how she used to be like. Seeing U guys like this brings up a lot of memories i'd buried away."
Madhu-"It can be hard on a girl when her mother is taken away at an early age. Think of me as your Mom. I don't know if i can lessen your pain but i can try to give U a mothers love if U let me. Misha and Panchi have always brought in new friends but U are the first girl Misha has attached herself to completely so to me that makes U special in my book."
Misha-"What now i have more competition in the form of Piya Mom seriously i'm beginning to think U are trying to gain another daughter by getting rid of Panchi."
Madhu-"U are both special to me Misha and Panchi. I can never replace my babies. Misha maybe i can replace U by a real daughter because U are my son na. Piya is my second daughter."
Misha-"On that note i guess family photo. To captures this moment."
Piya-"Misha come on. I don't even appear human looking like a ghost. My red nose is a joke."
Panchi brought out a camera and set the timer while they all took a photo. Madhu appeared to lose some of her spark. She wipes away a single tear. She covers up her emotions with a smile. Madhu makes an excuse to get some hot chocolate for everyone. Misha and Piya head upstairs to watch some movie Dabangg which is Misha's favourite. Piya liked the movie because of Abhay his favourite actor was Salman Khan.
Piya asks Misha what all that was about. Misha replies-"Mom gets like that when we talk about the three of us. See i have i mean Panchi and I have a brother in the UK but we aren't allowed to talk about it out loud.Sidharth's his name. He studies abroad. Sometimes he'll call but Dad and he are at loggerheads about something us girls aren't allowed to ask why Sid left all of a sudden. Mom misses him a lot and Dad just gets moody. Then its up to us girls to bring our parents around."
Piya-"I didn't even know U guys had a brother. Must be hard on all U guys but for him especially. I know how its like not to have anyone Misha. Its lonely and a guy will never admit this even if U begged him to. U will see in time things will get better."
Misha-"How are U babes? At least you've stopped moaning now though thats not a Dobrial trait. We like to kick up a fuss about everything. Are U missing loverboy? U are aren't U so cute! Makes me sick all this faltu love business but it suits U yaar. I can tell U guys are made for each other. Abhay has this intensity in his eyes whenever he's around U like he will go to great lengths for U. Its deep man. That kinda love U only get in movies not in real life."
Piya-"I'm lucky to have him but i fear that i will lose him again. Misha i don't trust in my fate. He's the only good thing in my life. All else pales in comparison. It almost seems like its too good to be true. U know. My life has never run smoothly."
Misha-"U need to relax. I'm saying this an awful lot but stress nahin leneka. Stress deneka. Thats my motto. Abhay isn't leaving U in the immediate future and if he does then i'll break his legs for U. So U wanna talk about your Mom. U need to open up babes. I'm your friend come sister so i can be your security blanket. Someone U pour heart out to. I'm wise U know. Tell me everything from the beginning."
Panchi enters Misha's room with some hot cocoa with whipped cream and extra sprinkles of chocolate. Piya was being spoilt rotten.
Misha-"Look Panchi is trying to fatten us up. So much whipped cream on ours and on hers nothing. What are U plotting Panchi? Trying to kill us off with sugar. Cool dudes U are the best."
Panchi laughs-"I didn't get U one they are both for Piya. After all she's ill not U go get one for yourself. Piya here take this shawl and wrap it around U."
Misha-"So mean. I'm taking this one and that's final."
Panchi-"Already so stubborn. Dad's little princess when are U going to grow up."
Misha-"Not on your lifetime. Now sit down and listen to Piya's Kahaani."
Piya-"My what?"
Misha-"U were going to tell us about your Mom!"
Piya-"I never said that Misha U wanted me to spill my guts and i never agrred to it."
Panchi-"Piya one thing U will learn Misha always gets her way. So if she asks U something in due time she'll get it after she bugs U to death."
Misha-"My own sister paints me as a mafia in front of my friend. I'm not that bad."
Piya giggles-"Fine i'll do better than tell U everything about her. I will show U a photo of her i've kept safe." Piya takes out a Photo and shows Panchi and Misha. They study the picture and then look at Piya.
Panchi-"U look like her with the curls and the eyes. She's beautiful like U."
Misha-"U guys are a cute pair. I can see how much U guy's loved each other."
Piya-"She was my world. The two of us against the world. Mom was the best mother ever. She yold me to face adversity and never glance back at the past and move on with life. The stories she told me every night before bed i remember like it was yesterday. I can picture her in my mind but it's not how it used to be. I remember her perfume she used to wear all floral. She used to hide her sadness in front of me but i could see how lonely she was the hurt in her eyes. Her big heart was always the draw for people she was kind to everyone. A great cook. She made the best Bhajia's mouth watering i remember the taste so well.. Mom used to dress me up on my birthday as a fairy. She used to make the best chocolate cakes ever with hearts all around. Our girls night in and the holidays we'd have on the beach are the memories i cherish. Her laughter at when i crack a joke illuminated my world with light. We used to go to the park a lot and play games. Whenever i used to feel ill she'd make me her special remedies and stay by my side until i was better. It was her that told me i was her special angel who lit up her world but in reality she was my angel. I can feel her presence sometimes when i'm at my lowest point. I look at the moon and reminisce our time together. Her illness hit us hard. I spent months trying to believe that Mom will pull through for us but destiny had torn us apart.those moments i had at her bedside were the most difficult times of my life. Trying to show her i was fine with all this but inside i was dying by the minute wishing it was I that could take her place. Mom soldiered through all this trying to hide her anguish from me but i knew. Mom made me promise that i'd stay strong and in her absence to think of the Brightside of life. If i was ever lonely to look at the moon and just imagine she was there listening to my problems and that she'd guide me beyond the grave.
Piya put the photo back in her bag wiping away the tears that were flooding out. Her emotions were all out. Everything she'd thought she'd buried was out in the open. She saw Panchi and Misha well up. Great she made everyone depressed. Piya saw Madhu at the doorway listening in on the conversation with Arnav. They couldn't believe how much a young girl like Piya had gone through. How strong this girl in front of them was after facing so much at a young age on her own. Madhu could feel Piya's pain at losing someone even if Sid was miles away he was a piece of her. Alienated from their family. Arnav felt Piya's paina s he'd lost the love of his life Sugandh with his daughter. He could relate to this girl. Piya had brought out a protective side to him for Piya. He saw his dead daughter in her.
Arnav-"Sorry we didn't mean to eavesdrop but we came to check up on U girls and Piya sharing her past was too compelling. Beta what about your father? Where was he in all this?"
Piya-"It's ok uncle. Dad was never around. He was like a drop in kinda Dad. When he was around we were a perfect family but then he'd create problems and make Mom upset. He had another family and when Mom found out she was heartbroken. He left us without a second glance. I hope wherever he is he's happy. i don't even miss him. Sometimes i look at other kids Dad's and wish my Father was around but lifes what U make it. Mom taught me that. Sometimes we don't get what we wish for so not to ponder on what could have been. To focus on what we have and how we can move forewords. I'm not sad i don't have a father. U can't miss what U don't have right?"
Arnav-"U are well rid of him in my eyes the guy needs a good beating. Some men aren't meant to be fathers."
Madhu-"Piya beta U really have been through the mill."
Piya-"It's strange telling people about my broken family but i guess i needed to do this. I can't believe i'm not over this. I must be the blubber queen of the year."
Madhu-"It's understandable. I'm amazed how well U have handled all this. From now on think of this as your own family. With us around U will never be alone."
Arnav-"Yes. U are my daughter from now on."
Misha-"See i told U this was a great idea. Therapy for free Misha style. Lets watch the movie yaar. We need TLC after this. Piya enjoy the TLC because the Dobrials do it in style. Woh bhi Dabangg style whoop whoop. Panchi put the movie on Sis. We need a family night in."
Panchi-"Yes my master! How hi do U want me to jump my master? This girl na Dad U have spoilt her rotten. She doesn't do anything herself. Everytime she orders about!"
Misha-"Argue later pehle movie. Sallu screen pe no more talking. Mom popcorn lau aur mast ho jao."
Piya for the first time got a taste of what it was like to be an actual family. It was a moments she would keep forever and the movie was smashing. Everyone went off to bed. Misha and Pia were sleeping in the same room. Watching Salman Khan reminded her of Abhay and how he'd been AWOL. He'd left her a while where were U Abhay? Everyone headed to bed but Piya felt restless. Abhay was on her mind. She was concerned for his safety. Was he ill? He did save her and Sheila from the river last night. Then there was a noise. Piya got out of bed and see what it could be? Abhay was outside. Piya ran outside with a blanket around her. She opened the door and hugged Abhay tightly squeezing the life out of him. Good job Abhay was a vampire. Abhay tried to give her a little kiss but she moved away.
Piya hit Abhay's chest with her hands-"That's for not contacting me all day. I was worried that U might have gotten ill. U aren't invincible U know."
Abhay-"Charming thats the welcome i get. On top I don't even get a kiss. I ought to stay out of the way more often. I wonder what U would do next?"
Piya-"Abhay i don't want U to catch my cold silly. Where were U all day?"
Abhay-"Its a surprise! How was it at the Dobrials?"
Piya-"Great. We are getting on really well. What about Sheila? How is she?"
Abhay-"The doctors have let her go. Some Uncle came for her but she's safe. U relax and i'll see U tomorrow. U look better. The colours back in your cheeks. Now get some rest. I need my Piya to be in good shape so that U can kill me with your extra loving care. I need some TLC from U for trying my best see U on the mend by letting the Dobrials take care of U. I've missed U a lot. See ya" Abhay gives her a little kiss and disappears.
