Chapter 7:

Geet walked insider her house with Maan and was shocked to see Maan's Dadi there with her mom and dad.
She looked at Maan who was smiling and winked at here
Geet Dad: Geet you have come..meet Maan's Dadi Savitiri Devi
Geet: I know her...namaste Dadi
Dadi: Namaste beta
Geet Mom: Maan beta why are you standing..please sit
Maan: Thank you Aunty
Maan looked at Dadi...and was signaling her
Dadi: umm the reason why I am here is because I wanted to ask your daughter Geets hand for marriage with my grandson Maan
Geet who was standing up almost fell to the ground and couldn't believe her ears...she steadied herself..and looked at Maan...Maan looked at Geet and smiled at her...
Geet mom and dad were equally shocked as well...they couldn't believe that an alliance that too from a big high society family...they were so happy for their daughter
Geet dad: I couldn't be more happy with this alliance
Geet mom: I will get sweets for everyone
Dadi: Well I am glad but I want to know Geet's opinion as well
Geet who was still standing there like a statue and lost in her own world..her dad shook her hand...
Geet dad: beta why are you so quiet, are you happy with this alliance
Geet excused herself and went to her room...unable to comprehend what just happened...
Maan: Excuse me uncle do you mind if I meet Geet?
Geet dad: umm no beta...she must be in her room...it is right down the hall
Maan left to go Geet's room...once entering her room he saw her standing there by the window looking at the moon...he stood right behind her...
Maan: Geet aren't you happy with this...I know you like me and I like you too and please don't deny it...
Geet didn't say anything...Maan turned Geet around..and saw tears in her eyes
Maan: Geet why are you crying....and started wiping her tears away
Geet: I don't know...
Maan: smiled...what do you mean I don't know
Geet: I don't know if this will work...
Maan backed up a little...
Geet continued: I am from a middle class and what will people think
Maan: Geet do you really think i care what people think?
Geet looked at Maan...but
Maan put his hands over her mouth..bas Geet you don't have to think about people...just listen to your heart...Maan placed Geets head on his chest...listen to my heartbeats Geet it will only say your name
Geet closed her eyes...
Maan: Geet did you know...i feel in love with you the first time I saw at the engagement party at my Dadi's friends daughter...and I saw you dancing and mimicking sridevi to that song...whts the song name..i forgot...hmmm
Geet: mere hatton mein nau nau (9 sorry didn't know how to speel nine in hindi lol) choodiyan
Maan: chuckled...haha yeah that song...btw you have to teach me some dance moves lol
Geet: hit him on his chest
Maan continued: Anyway after seeing you dance I couldn't stop thinking about you at all..whenever I closed my eyes you would appear, whenever I tried to sleep you were there...you know you gave me a lot of sleepless nights? then you started working in my office and again I couldn't sleep...all I did was think about you day and night..i couldn't concentrate with you around me and it drove me mad...
Geet: If I drove you mad then why this proposal?
Maan: Think of this as my payback..laughed...you have to pay me for what you did...
Geet blushed and went near the window unable to look at Maan...
Maan: Geet I know this is not like the most romantic proposal but as moon is our witness I will promise to always keep you happy no matter what...So I will ask you Ms. Geet Handa...will you maary me?
Geet: looked down on the floor and shook her head..Yes
Maan hugged Geet so tight out of joy...
Geet: Maan I can't breathe
Maan: Ohh sorry I got so happy...and continued to hug her..
Maan's Dadi came in the room...ahem sorry to disturb you guys..everybody is waiting outside..smiled
Maan: woh Dadi I was asking her decision
Dadi: yeah I can see
Geet unable to meet her eyes kept on looking down on the floor...
Dadi: Alright well come outside then and tell us the decision...(knowing the answer already)
They all left and went outside..
Maan: Geet said yes
Geet mom and dad couldn't be more happy....
Dadi: There is one condition though..
Geet dad: Condition what condition...
Dadi: Well I know its not the occasion right now or we are properly dressed..but I would like both of them to get engaged right now..Maan had already went shopping with Geet today...and he picked out an outfit for her to wear tonight...if it is ok with you guys...
Geet looked at Maan and Maan winked at her...Maan left to go to the car and pick up the outfit..now she understood why he made her try the outfit out...
Geet Dad: Yeah that is fine...but why in a hurry?
Dadi: There is no reason...it's jsut that I want Geet to come to my house as soon as possible..and we don't care about big event either and plus engagement is just a formality for us...the wedding will be a grand wedding...
Maan came back with the outfit and gave it to Geet...and in the process held her hand...Geet looked at Maan and tried to free her hand...Maan just looked at her and then at everyone..not letting go of her hand...
Dadi: Geet why don't you put the outfit on..(completley oblivious to Maan and Geet holding hands...as it was covered by the package)
Geet: huh ummm Ji Dadi..she looked at Maan
Maan let go of her hand...and wispered in her ears "for now am letting it go but your hand will be in my hand soon enough"
Geet rushed insider her room and changed the outfit into the dress that Maan brought...while Geet was changing...
Dadi: I know you guys are suprised and am sure you must've wanted a big engagement party..
Geet Mom: No we are just thankful that our Geet will go to such a loving family...
Dadi: Don't worry about the marriage ceremony either...the cost will be from our side...
Geet dad: No, you already did enough for us...what more can we ask...
Dadi: I am only doing this for my grandson happiness and we did nothing in return we are getting the greatest treasure...GEET
Geet Mom: We don't know how to thank you
Dadi: please don't embarase me by thanking me...I will come by tomarrow and ask the pundit for a good time for them two to get married
Geet came out wearing the outfit although Maan had already seen her in the outfit he still couldn't believe how beautiful she looked in there...he couldn't keep his eyes off...
Dadi: Maan for god's sakes stop staring at her...
Maan looked at Dadi and blushed..
Geet came and stood next to her parents....Maan next to his dadi
They both exchanged the rings...couldn't stop staring at each other...finally they were gonna be together...
