The Key to Your Heart
Maan was not able to contain himself, he had told her he hated her, her tears but now was he not becoming the liar he had accused her of. He could not stop his tears at the gnawing pain inside him. He will never be able to erase Geet out of his life. He should remember that they are bound together by the Taveez, by destiny. They are one. But she was someone else's, she was pregnant with someone else child where does that leave them. Nowhere. There was no them. He tried to tell himself again and again, he said it like a litany but he knew he will always love her, he will always protect her, even it meant from himself.
Maan had felt her presence; he knew she was around why oh why did his heart do a somersault when he felt a waft of her perfume in the air, why did he feel his heart beat to the rhythm of her footsteps. He has walked in a trance to where he thought she was and then took a hold on himself but he knew she was here the minute he had found her dupatta on his face. He knew he was not wrong; his instincts were never wrong where Geet was concerned. He was going to search for her but had ended up in the empty conference room and the door shut.
Was this a joke? Who dared to play a trick on him? But then he had heard her voice and his whole being had stilled before he had gallivanted into action of trying to open the door but she was calm. She was insisting on saying her piece. He was not going to be duped again by those eyes, those beseeching eyes that drew him into them. He was not going to melt with her tears. He was not going to let her trample his heart again; he was not going to let her take the decision that was going to change his heart. He needed to lock his heart so that he did not have to feel anything again, he did not want to once again go from ecstasy to despair in space of few seconds.
Geet had seen the pain on his face, the anguish he was going through as he had said, he hated her. She knew he wanted to distance himself from her but she needed to tell him the truth before he took any decision. If they were not meant to be together she will accept that and move away, make a life for her and her child alone, she was prepared for that. But she was not prepared to go without him knowing the whole truth. After that if he rejected her, her love, her baby she will know what to do…or would she? But she was not going down without a fight. She had just found a small amount of happiness and she was going to hang on it if it took all she had to convince him that her truth was something he had to hear before he passed a judgment on her, on their love.
She had gone to the office and found Pinky crying after facing his wrath and she was going to fight for her and she had devised the plan to get him to listen to her, she was not a jattani just like that. If he was Maan Singh Khurana who did not bend to anyone's wishes but his, she was the Hoshiarpur Express who did not heed a stop sign once she started.
Geet had cornered him in the conference room and she let him know in no uncertain words that he will have to hear her if nothing, he will have to know even if he wanted her to go away from him.
She told him what happened with her. She told him how she was duped not just for her money, her land, but her very being. She had been robbed of her innocence, her youth, her dreams. The man had wormed himself into their lives and in space of few days had taken everything she knew and was familiar with.
"Woh aaya, hawa ke jhokein ki tarah Maan aur toofan banker meri zindagi tabah kar gaya" she explained with a sob in her voice cracking it but she held on to her strength, which was unfurling at seams and shred. But she continued, she was not stopping now, she was not going to let pain stop her from saying what she had to, she added,
"meine socha tha nayee shuruaat hai aur kya mila mujhe, sirf andhera, tanhayee." She could not stop her tears from falling at this point rolling down her cheeks. She could not stop herself from shaking with remembered anger of the time she had burned the suhaag ki nishani that night when she had decided to rise like phoenix from the ashes and make a life for herself and her child.
Geet continued between sobs, her body shaking with each and finally her torment and anger culminated into pulling the lapels of his shirt and asking him as if he had answers, "Kya galti thi meri, ke mein ek larki hoon? Kya galti thi meri, mujhe toh shaadi bhi nahi karni thi par ki, meine jisse ek saccha rishta samjha, woh jhooth nikla, fareb."
"Jis aadmi ne us shaadi ki buniyaad par mere saath raat guzari aur chorr gaya, chorr gaya….."she could not continue and took a breath that screeched but she closed her eyes to still the pain that was still raw before she added, "usmein meri kahan galati thi, kyon, kyon mere saath aisa kiya….kyon?" She screamed holding Maan's shirt tighter.
"Meri kya galati thi ki mein iss bacche ko janam dena chahti hoon, kyon mere ghar wale mujhe maarna chahte the, kyon? Kyon meri zameen, mere paison ke liye itna bada dhoka kiya? Bolo Maan, bolo, kya mein galat hoon, kyon aap sunna nahi chahte meri sachchai ko" she stopped suddenly looking at the anger on his face, letting his shirt go and turning away.
Maan just grabbed her then, turning her into him and hugging her tight, he wanted to absorb her pain, her torment into him. He should have known, he was a blind fool to not trust her. He had been wrong, once again where Geet was concerned, he could never see straight. She clouded his brains, he only felt and now he needed to feel her, next to him. He needed to hold her to give her strength that he somehow did not have for all he was red. He wanted to make everything right but right now he felt like flinging things, to scream, to kill the man who had done this to her. But he could not do any of the things for she was in his arms and he could not hurt her, he could not let her see his fury lest she gets scared. He was trying to get a hold on his emotions and give her the support she needed. He knew he was her only anchor and he had to stand strong for her not give in to his anguish and rage he felt for her plight.
Then everything flashed in front of him, why she had said "mujhe haq nahi hai aapke liye kuch mehsoos karne ka", "aap mujhse door rahiye", "aap meri zindagi ke bhojh ke tale dabb jaayenge", of the times she had tried to stay away from him, of the times she had tried to tell him the truth, right her in this room.
"Geet chup ho jao, bas, aur kuch mat kaho, mein dekh nahi sakta tumhein itna dard sehte hue," in a broken voice, his eyes closing forgetting his own rage, he only tries to soothe her. For him alleviating her pain was of paramount importance, to stop her from crying, to expunge her of the emotions that make her remember the time that brought only torture.
He made up his mind though to find the man who had done this to her and punish him for the misdeeds, he promised himself that he is going to murder him with his bare hands. He will make him suffer for each and every tear he gave Geet, for every pain he inflicted on her. "Har ek aansoon ka hisaab lega…"
The Key to Your Heart – Neal McCoy
Hearts get broken and walls get built around them
That's why I can't break through to you
If there's a way in, no I haven't found it
I'll keep searchin' till I do
If I could find the key to your heart
I'd unlock the part that let's you trust again
And then you could begin to love
You'd open up inside and let me in
If only I could find the key to your heart
There's a doorway that I know will lead me
To a place beyond your doubts
Darlin', someday, I hope you'll believe me
I could never let you down
If I could find the key to your heart
I'd unlock the part that let's you trust again
And then you could begin to love
You'd open up inside and let me in
If only I, I could find the key to your heart
Girl, I give you all my love every day and night
You have all that you've been dreamin' of
For the rest of your life
If I could find the key to your heart
I'd unlock the part that let's you trust again
And then you could begin to love
You'd open up inside and let me in
If only I could find the key to your heart
i love the dialogues of geet when she tells maan the truth, all these questions that she has unaswered, what did she do to deserve this in life, the emotions were portrayed perfectly Vru, she never even wanted to marry him in the first place
