mujhe neend nahi aa rahi thi.. so i decided id write this part as well.. here it is...!! its awefully long .. and i am tired.. and may be sleepy as well.. geet ki tarah kal subah main bhi faint na ho jau.. ! 😉

Part 7:


The khurana family plans this impromptu dinner, where they decide they want to spend quality time with one another.
Dev: dadi, main hum log aise kitne saalon baad bahar aaye hai na?Yaad hai bro, bachpan main dadi humko humesha kaise humare favorite jagah le jaati thi aur mom toh…
Before the can complete the line, dadi gives him a warning look and maan looks away and Dev also stops.
Dadi: hum toh abhi aap logon ke saath waqt bitana chahte hai.. par yeh sahadzaade… humare chote Maan se… Maan Singh Khurana ban gaye hai, jinke liye humare paas koi time nahi hai…
Maan: ho gaya? Dadi … aap ko kya milta hai meri khichaayi karke…
Dadi: itni kheenchaayi kar kar ke humne aapko itna laamba kia hai… bachpan main..hum har roz aapki maalish kia karte the… par yahan toh dadi ko koi credit hi nahi deta…
Maan: dadi aap toh bilkul gee… ( he stops as he suddenly remembers he had promised her he would come back home and help her with her work! He looks at the watch and it is already 10 in the night.. and by the looks of it, it doesn't seem like either dadi or Dev are in a mood to get up….
Dadi: kash… viki bhi iss waqt humare saath hote.. tab humara parivaar poora hota.. haina..? maan?
Maan looks up and nods… (still with thoughts of Geet on his mind)
Maan: wo so gayi hogi…
Dadi and Dev exchange a look and giggle…
Dev: koun bro?
Maan: mera matlab hai… raat hone ko hai.. Viki jahan bhi hoga so raha hoga…
Dadi: hum sab samjahte hai maan… we are a part of your family… hume bhi apne secrets batayiye…
Maan: dadi.. koi secret nahi hai.. ab chale? Bahut der ho gayi hai…
Dev: kya baat hai bro.. aapko badi jaldi ho rahi hai jaane ki.. sapno main kisi ne aane ka wada kiya hai kya?
Maan: (under his breath) sapno main nahi, sach main…errr… dadi.. ma.. please chale.. kal bahut important meeting hai…
In the meanwhile at the outhouse-geet is feeling really sleepy-but there are no signs of maan anywhere. Since he had gone with dadi, she didn't want to call him and bother him… and finally as she gets restless, she decides she would call him once, but it says it is out of calling area. She sets an alarm for half an hour later and dozes off thinking maan would wake her up as soon he comes there.
But when Maan returns he notices that the lights in the haveli are off.
Maan: arey… so gayi! Maine toh kaha tha ke main aunga… ( he is little hurt)
He wants to call her but his phone is off-he decides he will talk to her the next morning.. he doesn't feel like waking her up. He does his part of the work on the laptop and calls it a day.
But sadly geet wakes up in half an hours time.. and she notices that maan's phone is off-she is worried-she calls on the land line-Nakul picks up the call and says that saab and dadi returned like ages ago and have now retired for the day. Geet is also miffed now as she isn't sleepy! She takes the huge file and runs through the pages- like a school kid she tries to by heart whatever she can-she is not sleepy neither is anything getting into her head-she decides to make herself coffee-occasionally she peeps through the window to see if the light is on at the haveli, but it is not. She is like…
Geet: maan sir kyun nahi aaye… itni raat ho gayi hai! Main jaaun?
She walks towards the door but realizes that the door has been locked from the outside…
Geet: yeh maan sir bhi na… tala laga dia.. unka fone band hai.. aur main yahan akeli baithi bore ho rahi hoon.. mujhe kuch samajh main nahi aa raha. She tries her best to understand as best as she can but none of the conditions or the clauses actually go to her head. At every click of sound she thinks he is coming but he doesn't. The entire night passes and she notices the break of dawn. She thinks she will catch up with sleep the coming day. Though she is really sleepy-but somewhere around 7 o clock she falls asleep… only to be woken up by a phone call later in the day. Its 10:00 am…
Pinky: oye Geet tu kahan hai?
Geet: ghar pe she says.. aur kahan!
Pinky: Geet.. jaldi se office aaja … maan sir bahut gussa hai…who tumhare liye pooch rahe the…
Geet: sone de na pinky….
Pinky: 10 baj rahe hai.. aur tu abhi tak so rahi hai…
Geet falls off the chair.. and is shocked to know it is 10-she quickly manages to find clothes, tripping here and there-wondering in between why Maan neither woke her up nor took her with him! For now she was needed at the office and she had to rush. She runs to the office, as everyone stares on. She has worn a wrong dupatta over her dress with a different salwar and a kameez…
Sasha: miss hoshiarpur koi fashion statement set karne waali hai.. how hideous can it get… btw Geet.. MK tumhe dhoond rahe he, wo already client ke saath meeting hall main hai…
Geet: babaji .. Maan sir.. conf room main.. aur main yahan… please aaj mujhe bacha lo…
She runs into the conference room making a loud noise with the door and everyone stares at her! Maan is embararsed. She mumbles " Good sir, good morning every body!
Client: toh Mr. Khurana, jab key eh aa gayi hai.. start kare?
Maan: Geet shuru karo!
Geet: sir main?
Maan: haan tum! ( with anger building up)
Geet is lost for words, as she cant figure out what to say.. she suddenly blanks out. She doesn't know what to say… " actually sir.. main wo.. actually.. yeh jo project hai.. wo…
Client: Mr. khurana aap hume issi liye wait karne ke liye bol rahe the….
Sasha comes there and covers up for geet, while maan eyes are fixed on geets! The client is pretty happy and says, he will get back! Adi leads them out and Maan loses total control as geet says…
"I am sorry sir"
Maan: bas Geet! Bahut ho gaya! Main har baar tumhare liye cover nahi kar sakta… itni laa parvaahi…
Geet: par sir…
Maan: ek toh tum late aati ho, uspe, tumhe iss project ke bare main kuch bhi pata nahi.. tum apna kaam seriously kab logi? Ya tumhe iss project main kaam hi nahi karna…
Geet has tears in her eyes-each of his words stab her like daggers!
Geet: ( almost crying)
Maan: Ab rona band karo samjhi tum!
Tasha toh sasha : ek kaam karte hai! Flight se isey ghar wapis bhejte hai…
Sasha: pata nahi wahan airport hoga ki nahi..
Both of them giggle!
Maan: tum log yahan kya kar rahe ho… get back !
Geet is still standing there, totally embarrassed not knowing what to say! Her tears refuse to stop. Once everyone disperses…Maan and geet are left alone in the conference room.
Maan's anger slowly starts to melt as he see's her cry. He tries to come close to her-and he slowly wipes her tears off. She looks into his eyes, their eyes meet, but she looks away and says..
Geet: mujhe nahi chahiye aapki jhooti humdardi…
Maan: (hurt) Geet…!
Geet: haan! Aap badal gaye hai.. pehle jab aap mujhe daante the, toh meri galti sudhar n eke liye daante the… lekin ab bin wajah…
Maan holds geet firmly by her shoulders and says… "main tumhe bin wajah daant raha tha?
Geet: ( still crying and not letting him touch her, moving a step backwards each time he makes an attempt to come close) maine aapse pehle hi kaha tha.. ke mujhe kuch nahi aata.. aur aap mujhe sab samjhane waaley they.. maine raat bhar kaam kiya, lekin mujhe kuch samjah nahi aaya.. aur aap bhi nahi aaye.. aur .. aur.. subah subah.. jab galti se meri aankh lag gayi, apne mujhe uthaya bhi nahi… bas office chale aaye…
Maan: is shocked…
Geet: mujhe aaj se aapki koi help nahi chahiye… main apna kaam khud karoongi.. aur … aapko dikhaungi.. !
Maan regrets it now, as he realizes there could have been some misunderstanding…
Maan: geet, please… meri baat suno…
Geet: nahi.. main apna khayal khud rakh sakti hoon ( as she says this, she suddenly feels giddy, but she tries to stay strong)
Maan comes to manage her.. but… she moves away…
Geet: mujhe… (she is about to say) and she faints…
Maan: Geet!
He rushes to her! As she is lying on the floor. He gets all restless looking at her in this state-
Maan: aankhen kholo .. he pleads.. I am sorry geet…
He then lifts her up in his arms and runs to the list-He looks so agitated, everyone in the office is shocked. The lift is 20 floors above and he cant afford to waste time-he rushes down the stairs carrying her with him..
He drives her to the hospital.
At the hospital the doctor checks Geet as a restless maan waits outside. He recollects all those things he had said to her. He closes his eyes as tears roll out of them! Just then the doctor comes out and calls maan.. she asks maan to come inside.
Maan: doctor kya hua geet ko?
Doc: dekhiye.. pregnancy main yeh normal hai…lekin aapko inpe aur dhyaan dena chahiye…
Maan: par ab wo kaisi hai…
Doc: wo theek hai.. lekin, usne kal se kuch nahi khaya.. aur who bahut stressed lag rahi hai… aapko unka aur unki baby ka khayal rakhna chahiye.. after all aapka bhi toh farz banta hai…
Maan simply nods….
Maan: kya main use mil sakta hoon…
Doc: zaroor.. lekin please aap unhe zyada stress mat dee jiye…
Maan slowly comes out.. and as he walks towards the ward he remembers the day when they had confessed their feelings for one another….
a couple of days back: kyun geet kyun pleads Maan, kyun apne dil main dabey zazbaat se bhaag rahi ho tum…
Geet: please sir, aap mujhse pyar mat kee jiye.. mujhe pyar karne ka koi haq nahi hai.. khaas karke aap se…
Maan: geet…magar main tumse …
Geet: mat kahiye sir…! Main jaanti hoon, uss ehsaas ko mehsoos kar sakti hoon …jo aap lavzon main bayan karna chahte hai… lekin.. please, bhagwaan ke liye chale jayiye.. please
Maan had held Geet close to himself and asked her what it was .. and why she was running away from her feelings, when she finally told him what it was…. "sir main pregnant hoon and with that he had come to know about why her brother was chasing her, how she landed in Mumbai and what she wanted out of life…but he had promised her that day, that irrespective of what it was his love would not change and that he loved her no matter what)
Now as he is about to enter her room.. he thinks just outside…
Maan: main apna wada itni jaldi kaise bhool gaya…
Geet looks weak, she is lying on the bed…
As soon as maan enters she looks away…but maan walks to her.. sits next to her, and slowly takes her hand into his...she still is looking away…
Maan: geet.. meri taraf nahi dekhogi…
Geet doesn't say anything…
Maan: I am … (he hesitates as he hasn't said this too often and it is still hard for him) .. Geet, I am sorry.. please mujhe maaf kardo…! I promise aaj ke baad main tumhe kabhi aise hurt nahi karoonga…}
Geet feebly looks at him..
Maan: chalo… maine doctor se baat kar li hai.. tumhe ghar le jaata hoon.. aur wahan sirf rest…!
Geet: sir main theek hoon…
Maan: chup! Samjhi tum! Theek se bola bhi nahi jaa raha aur kehti ho ke theek ho…
Geet: sir!
Maan: haan
Geet: us project pe main akeli kaam karoongi…
Maan: Geet ( angry) .. uss project ke bare main ab hum koi baat nahi karenge.. pehle tum theek ho jao…
Maan brings geet home-he calls office and tells Sasha to cancel all his appointments for the day and refuses to leave her side even for a second.
Geet is still weak so he makes soup for her and feeds her with his own hands. Throughout this time, there is not a single smile on his face-he does it all as though it is his duty and responsibility. When he brings her food and she refuses to eat as she says she is full he says.. she has to have it atleast for the baby!
Geet: sir main aap pe aise bojh nahi banna chahti…
Maan: bahut filmey aur serials dekhti tum.. ab chup chaap isey khaalo… tum meri zimmedari ho.. aur kyunki yeh tumhara baccha hai.. uski zimmedari bhi meri.. ab chup chaap khaana khaalo…
She eats and he puts her off to sleep. She holds his hand and falls asleep on his lap. Shortly after she has fallen asleep, there is a power cut, and maan decides to go to the kitchen to fetch a candle. Barely does he manage to light the candle that he hears a loud shriek! Maan rushes to the room with the candle and geet on looking at him hugs him tight and starts crying like a baby…
Geet: sir.. aap kahan chale gaye the.. main bahut darr gayi thi…aap please mujhe chod ke kahin mat jaana… she refuses to leave him.. as the wax continues to fall on his skin..
Maan: geet main yahin hoon.. dekho.. tumhare paas..
Geet: lekin aap kahan chale gaye the….
Maan now manages to put the candle aside and gently strokes her hair like she were a baby and says…
Maan: geet! Tum so jaao.. main kahin nahi jaa raha hoon…!
The power comes back just then and maan blows the candle off.. and Geet notices the burn on maan's hand…
Geet sits up.. " sir yeh kab hua"
Maan: wo aaj shaam ko…
Geet: dikhayiye mujhe…
She tries to look at it but Maan keeps moving it away.. and she tries to come closer .. and before both of them are so close, their lips are just a couple of centimeters away from touching…

Precap: Maan takes Geet of the project! She is hurt she doesn't know why but he has a valid reason for the same. Maan has something on his mind! Is he planning a date? Geet meets someone from her past finally!

you know, i exactly know what you mean! it happened to me the first time i made friends over a TV show as well on a blog.. infact two of my closest friends are friends i met on the DMG blog.. and yes, it feels wonderful to unwind and be a part of this maddness !

Yuu know I only join ed very IF recently ..just out of curiosity and to find out more about Geet .. through that I have found so many talented writers and made quite a few friends!!

It amazes me to no end that despite being from so many different backgrounds .. a simply love story and cute characters brings so many of us together!!

Wonderful! I love how Maan is looking after her.......on second thoughts......he actually should do that.......he made her stay awake and shouted at her for no fault of hers......dusht danav kahin ka! Aww......Geet is such a baby.......lolz.......precap......hmm.....so MSK is planning a date.....nice! Lolz.......do continue soon.
