"ALRIGHT.!!! If this is what u want, then let it b so.!!" Mayank's voice ranged across the huge master bedroom of their house where both had just now came and were about to sleep.
"Mayank, Why r u shouting, I told u ,its going to be for just for 2 more days, that's it.!! Then I will be free. And this is not what I meant "Nupur replied. Tears welling up in her eyes.

"Then what the HELL do u mean? Can u explain???? Mayank roared with anger. "This has been going on for the past 1 month. whenever I think of both of us being together for even 5-10 minutes, ur new designs and ur new fashion show is d only thing that comes up 2 ur mind!!!."

"Mayank please'.. Try to understand,. I was just'".

"Yaa, its me who has 2 understand every time. I canceled my tour 2 times last month just because u wanted me to..Even I have my important clients and meetings. not only u who has ur shows n all stuffs'when I can cancel, why can't u??

"Ok,so the only thing that bothers u is that u cancelled ur meeting for me n hence evn I have too, my work can never b a bit more important than urs. .thats what u mean????isn't it??? Nupur retorted back this time, both with d anger and pain in her voice.

"No..thats nothing '.,u r taking me wrong. Nupur

"I know it now. Typical male ego of urs'its raising its ugly head now Mayank. No one can b more busy and important than u. that what u feel. And if that's proved wrong-u flare up'.",Why can't u understand me for once at least.????

"I had had enough of it Nupur.i can't take your blame any more."Mayank walked across the room and went out of the room, slamming the door behind him..

"Mayank'.Mayank 'Please'.listen to me u can't just go like this. Mayank ..Please'..I m sorry Mayank'MAYANK'"

She heard the main door close and rushed outside to see Mayank storming towards his car and, without a single glance back at her, got inside it and sped away.

It was so painful for her. It had always been she who had to apologize, and make up with him.



Mayank spent a sleepless night at a downtown hotel. Visions of Nupur kept coming to his mind.

Their college, their early married days''

And Nupur's warmth, compassion. And caring. Could I have been that wrong bout her? Her LOVE..???



Nupur stood dazed inside the enormous room which was supposed to be used for her fashion show. NO, not any more now. HAD supposed to be .Coz her dreams had been shattered mercilessly. Her dream, of having the largest fashion show in Mumbai '..
Why had it been shattered????
Coz her designs were considered to be not at par with the other designers!!! She didn't match up to their standards, hence they were rejected, She had been rejected..!! Her ideas, her dreams had been rejected. Her toil, her hard work, her dreams, her slogging for the past 3 months for today had been rejected, and cruelly within 3 minutes'It was so easy for them.

"Nupur'.."

It was Diya ."I m really sorry for what happened Nupur. I tried to tell them the main theme of your designs, but they simply refuse to understand."

When Nupur spoke, her voice was unnaturally calm." Don't worry, Diya.I really am fine'U don't need to worry".

"Diya'..."

"Yes?"

"Can a woman love a man so much?"

"What?"

Her voice sounded dead."Mayank has left me".

"What? It can't be!!!. How can he do this??? "Diya was almost in hysterics .She knew bout their fights for the past 2 months but never thought it could lead up to this much that both will part ways and that too, now, when Nupur needed him the most.

"He feels I don't love him anymore, all I love now is my designs n job, which I failed miserably. He is not taking my calls Diya..I don't know where he is. I lost everything. Mayank,my dreams, My love'

"That's a pretty stupid n dumb reason to do something as such. Let me talk to him. How dare he do it with you? He just can't." Diya was swelling with anger.

"No,Diya ,u won't talk to him .I have disturbed him too much. I made him lose out on his important meetings, his clients twice'.He blames me for all that. I can't make him suffer anymore. I worked to make him happy, to give him this surprise that I can do it finally

"But that's wrong. You didn't mean to make him lose out. How can he even think of it? It was just that u needed him then'."Diya's voice trailed off.

"Leave it all Diya. Its d Fates'

"What'?"

"I said-Its d fates Diya 'they all went against me".

Five minutes after Nupur left, Mayank telephoned the office.

"I am sorry Mr. Sharma. You just missed her. She's on her way to her sister's place."

He felt a sharp pang of disappointment. He was desperately eager to see her, ask her forgiveness.

He made a second telephone call .spoke for another 10 minutes and was off. He needed to do it now-for HER'!!!

I've got to find Nupur. Mayank thought. I 've got to find Nupur.


She stood in the centre of the deserted living 'room of the Bhushan house and looked around. Everything came back to her. Their first day in this huge city. Excel college'She could remember her Bauji's voice so clearly."We have changed our city only, not our selves'She thought of Morena and Bui's kothi where they had grown up. She remembered their first day at Excel college..Men's room. Talent parade '
Professor Shukla and Devdhar sir.."Nupur ,baith jao"'.Academic meet'..d bus they missed ,the fights, the stares. The eye-locks. .d falls'

Mayank,hum jeet gaye,humlog the best partners hai, the best Jodi and solid Jodi'.

And then'.her office, her dreams. Her boss." this is going to be the largest and most successful fashion show of this year. I trust you Nupur.. "But now, no one trusted her'!!Not even He..
Mayank'Her Loch invar..The man she adored'That was the greatest loss of all.

"Di. Tum yaha??'.Chalo'andaar chalo'"Gunjan came towards her.

"Lets go to the hall. Uday bhaiya is there, waiting for you.He took a break to just come to meet you here."Uday worked for the Gourmet Magazine in Pune and had come to visit Nupur for her special day today.

She went towards the hall and was surrounded in darkness. "Gunjan,where r u????U know I m afraid of darkness !! Please'Gunjan'.don't do it'.!!!

The lights of the huge living hall came on and...
Nupur stood there, stunned'

Several voices called out almost at once-Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you'."

She stood there dazed'The room was filled with people she knew, her cousins,-Uday ,Diya,Gunjan'.her friends. Over the years they had lost contact with, CJ, Annie, Chako.. Uday had brought Tamanaa Ma'm too'.!!!!Her office colleagues, 5 of them. Her best buddies Ramona, Tina .Two of them she didn't recognize'

But the only one Nupur saw actually was Mayank. He was moving towards her, his arms outstretched and she suddenly found it difficult to breathe'

"Nupur''It was a caress'''.. And she stood there, fighting to hold back tears. In his arms was she now and this meant everything .She thought-This is where I belong to, nothing else mattered now. She was in his arms, and it was a healing, a blessed feeling. She felt a warm glow simply as she held him close.

People were crowding around them and everyone was wishing her.

"Happy birthday to you Nupur.."

"You look wonderful, were u surprised??"

"You really look so beautiful'Why did u get late???"'.

Gunjan came foreword. "Di,u liked it???

"Thanks Gunjan..i was'."

"Naah' don't thank me.. Jiju did it. For you'..He arranged everything."

"Mayank..i love you'.OMG..!!!"

Uday was saying" Whatever happens, you will be my ultimate favorite designer sister. Three cheers for the most successful lady I ever saw'"

Everyone was congratulating her.

Tamanna Ma'm said-"It really doesn't matters Nupur that it didn't work out this time, I m sure something much better awaits you and mark my words-it will be very soon."

"Thank you Ma'm." Her eyes filled up with tears. She knew her family, her friends were with her and most importantly-Her love-Mayank was with her.

Mayank said-"I m really sorry Nupur that I left you when I should have been with you the most. I' m truly sorry. Dill se sorry, actually sorry.!!Diya told me everything. And don't worry- I m sure something much-much better awaits my wife's wonderful creations. Something which no one else has ever seen earlier".

Everyone raised a toast to the birthday girl, d most wonderful lady.Nupur was ecstatic. She had got back what she felt she had lost only last night. Nothing cud have been more beautiful than this reunion of theirs. She looked around the whole room. Everyone was their, her family, her friends. And most importantly-she had HIM by her side..

Finally, the party began to break up after 10 in the night.
After seeing off the guests, the family got together to chat for a while before retiring to bed.Gunjan,Diya ,Uday'Samrat and Benji also were staying at their place that night.
It was raining and the suddenly Nupur
'"We really don't have a proper dress to go out in the rain. What do u all wear? It gets so wet n no proper maintenance n all.

Mayank,!!!Why don't I start working on my new range of designs? It will be fun u know! Rainy designs. I have decided on the colors to b used. it will b light-pastel shades. something soothing 2 eyes, like sea-green n blue..wudn't it be great?!!Diya,let's start working on it. Tom morrow I m going to tell Sir bout it.he will agree,I m sure,coz the last year too my design were loved by everyone n I m sure this year too, he will like them. I m positive!!Right Mayank?!!!

Everyone just stared at her, her words. No one can make her feel let down .she had always risen up above evryone's expectations and well,has been the best!!!!

Mayank stood up, looking at her.He was staring at her,mesmerized!!!

Nupur turned to face him, her voice charged with excitement ."Now,here's my plan. The Designs would be''."

And her loved her for being in his life..for now and for ever''''!!!!!
