It was 10:00pm in the night. I am not sure of the station name, but only remember that it started with 'Mu'.

Shall we get down and get some food? she asked. I said 'Ok'. We both got down from the train and I asked a person 'How long will the train stop here?' He said for 15 to 20 minutes as the water tanks of the train needs to be filled. She said that if she can get idly or dosa that will be sufficient. Since it is 10 in the night we couldn't find people who used to sell food parcels. I told her to be there and I will go and get something for her as I couldn't find anything nearby. But she refused to stay there alone and wanted to come with me. We walked for a few steps and we could find a small shop which was still open.

When we were walking I asked her 'Engagement is for whom?' 'Why are you so eager to know that?' she asked. Till then I had liked her very much. But when she asked that question I didn't like her. I din't want to go with her anymore. I slowed down my speed and wanted to tell her to go alone and get the food. But I din't want to do that. She had known me only for the past few hours and she had come with me alone, that meant I should respect the trust she had on me. I dint want to break the impression which she had on me. But I still wanted to know and I asked her one more time. With a smile in her face she said 'My brother's'.

I started walking faster. I was very happy but dint know why. I felt that something was happening to me. We reached the food shop and luckily there were few food parcels left. 'Is idly available?' I asked and 'Yes' replied the shopkeeper.

Got the parcel and started walking towards our coach. 'U look very happy' she asked. 'Yeah, we managed to get food for you na, that's why' I replied. (How many more lies I have to say till the end of journey? Thinking ). Got into the train and sat in our seat. Almost everyone else slept. She switched on a light and started having her food. 'Are you not hungry?' she asked. 'No, I am not hungry' I replied.

I have seen many people but have never had such a wonderful feeling which I was experiencing then. Suddenly I got a doubt 'Is she committed?' What a stupid thought? How could i get such a thought?. (What to do, 'I am also a normal person, normal human being like you and others'.) Made up my mind to ask her the same. I called her by her name. She responded with a beautiful smile.

'What Mayank, tell me'. 'Nothing yaar, just called' I replied. Still 20 hours journey was there and y should I ask such a question to her then and there. But so many doubts in my mind, whether she was already committed, whether should I ask her that. 'She is beautiful and surely she should be committed' said my mind.

'If a girl is beautiful should she be committed or what? Go Mayank go, ask her, nothing wrong. If her reply is 'Yes', then wish her all the best for her success. But if the reply is 'No', then………" while i was debating these thoughts within me she asked, 'Mayank, do you have any girl friend?'. Oh god! What should I answer for this question? (Time to say one truth Mayank) I replied 'No'. 'Why', she asked. 'Don't know', I replied.

She smiled for a while and said 'Don't lie Mayank'. I liked her smile very much this time. What is wrong if I ask the same question to her now? Decided; but didn't ask. 'You won't ask me the same question Mayank?' she asked. 'How can I ask that to you?' I replied. 'I am not asking anything, but if you wanted to tell, you can' I said. With smile in her face she replied 'Boy friend………hmm, I …..'. 'Mummyyyyyyyyyyyyy', the baby in the next seat started crying. 'Can you please switch on the light, I have to take my child to washroom', the baby's mother requested.
