Ar: See they are flashing a number which gives the passenger list, let's call that number and find out.

K: You won't be able to get that number easily. You note it and keep trying on the way to the airport.

Ar: Actually how did the accident happen?

K: The Kochi flight was about to take off when another flight was landing in the same runway, so the pilot of the Kochi flight tried to move to aircraft aside and it skid off the runway and hit the fence.

Ar: did they say how bad was the casuality?

K: They don't have any details so far.

The traffic was so thick it was taking them ages to reach the airport. After innumerable trials at last Archan managed to get that number. She spelt out the names and her face turned white as a ghost from the reply she got. Kartik shook her and called her names several times but she wasn't responding. He put the car on the side and slapped her face. She wept out loudly, Kartik, Armaan and Akshat were on that flight. He pulled her into his arms but his eyes also started watering.

He couldn't help thinking what a great person Armaan was. So friendly, the way he doted on his family. Should they inform Riddhima or get more information before speaking to her?

Riddhima picked up her watch and saw that the time was 8.30. Why hadn't he called as yet. His flight should have landed by now. When she tried to call, the call wasn't going through. Akka asked her to come and have dinner, but she said she wasn't hungry and just had some milk. Her mind was uneasy. From the time Archana called she was restless. Usually Archana soothed her, but today it worried her.

Ani woke up for his feed but continued to sleep after being fed. She wasn't able to get sleep so she joined akka on the sofa to watch the tamil serial. Suddenly akka screamt when a flash news was broadcast in between. Riddhima saw akka's face ashen. She had never seen her like that. She shook her and asked what happened. Tears started pouring down her cheeks but no words came out. Finally she only managed to say "Armaan Thambi" and started crying even more loudly. Riddhima was perplexed. On shaking her up and enquiring further she caught the words, "Kochi flight accident". Riddhima started feeling giddy and she fainted.

Seeing her akka controlled herself. She ran and got some water and started sprinkling it on Riddhima's face. When Riddhima still didn't open her eyes, she ran out and brought one of the neighbours, who called a doctor. Akka explained the matter to her and the doctor said it was sudden shock. She gave Riddhima an injection and said she would get consciousness soon.

Akka immediately called Archana and conveyed everything to her. Archana and Kartik had just reached the airport then. They promised to get all possible information but asked akka to call some of Riddhima's friends to help them at home. With the neighbour's help akka managed to call Lakshmi. She arrived in 10 minutes along with Geeta. Riddhima was just getting conscious then. Seeing such a crowd in her house made her think the worst. Armaan Akshat she screamt and started crying violently. Lakshmi held her in her arms and tried to console her while Geeta politely requested the neighbours to disperse, thanking them very much for their timely help. They started leaving one by one, asking her to call them, at any time of the night, if help was needed.

After a few minutes there was a call from Archana enquiring about Riddhima and relaying the information they had collected from the airline's office at the airport, that the casualities were shifted to the nearest GR hospital. They said they would take a look at the patients there and inform them further. Meanwhile Riddhima who was better now wanted to go there herself and see. So with one of the neighbour's help Lakshmi took Riddhima to the hospital in his car. Geeta remained with akka and Ani. Akka was also crying inconsolably and sitting before the diety praying for her thambi. "God take me away, but please don't let anything happen to my brother or the kid. If anything happens to them, four lives will be shattered."

As soon as they entered the hospital Riddhima rushed to have a look at the passengers who were admitted and Lakshmi went to check the list with patients name and ward number. Thankfully there were not many casualities. Riddhima didn't find either Akshat or Armaan. When she tried to call his cell it still said that it was switched off. Riddhima went berserk. Then she saw Kartik and Archana speaking to some people but their queries also didn't yield any information about Armaan or Akshat. Ambulances were still flowing and the stream of paaengers continued. Most of them were only found to be in shock with minor physical injuries. They were prescribed some medication and sent away.

As time elapsed all of them were getting more tensed regarding Armaan and Akshat. The authorities had been sure that there had been no deaths, thanks to the presence of mind of the pilot, who had averted a major accident. Suddenly Riddhima's phone rang and she prayed it should be Armaan calling, but it was Anjie.

An: Riddhima, we just saw the news. Armaan was supposed to be on that flight na? How is he?

Riddhima broke down telling her she wasn't able to find him as yet and that she was very scared.

An: You should have at least called us na? Is there anyone with you?

R: Di my brain wasn't working. My friends are all here. There's no news about Armaan and Akshat. Di I'm very scared.

An: Don't worry Riddhima either me or Atul will come over in the first available flight. Give the phone to one of your friends.

Riddhima went over to Archana and handed the phone to her saying my sister wants to talk with you. Anjie enquired about Riddhima's state and pleaded with Archana to stay with her till one of them reached there. Archana assured her that she and her husband wouldn't leave Riddhima's side.

Riddhima asked Kartik "Did you manage to get any information about Armaan." He just shook his head and pursed his lips. Just then the next Ambulance arrived. An elderly couple came hobbling in with the help of some ward boys. They were talking in Tamil.

woman: Such a nice person, helping everyone, unmindful of his injuries.

man: Even the little one, so fearless. Standing by his father and doing his share.

Lakshmi heard them and wanted to find out if they were talking of Armaan and Akshat. She remembered that she had taken a photo of Akshat on her cell the other day. She opened the photo and showing it to the couple asked if this was the same boy they were talking about. Both didn't have their specks so couldn't see clearly. Lakshmi was disappointed. She kept calling Geeta from time to time to check about Akka and Ani. She was told Ani was fast asleep after his feed.

In the meantime Kartik was talking to an elderly gentleman, who was a little bruised. Kartik enquired about Armaan by giving his physical description, and the man started crying. Had it not been for that man I would have been alive today. Kartik beckoned to Riddhima and both of them listened to the man's narration.

The flight had moved off the runway and into a muddy patch. In panic all the people had rushed to the emergency exit. Armaan was the one to organize them. His son had hit his head on the window, but was ok. He had asked all mothers to exit with their kids first and then the senior citizens. Just as he was helping the gentleman, the aircraft had sunk further in the slushy mud as the weight on the exit door side was more. He would have been thrown down had not Armaan held on to him and helped him balance before letting him slide down. When kartik asked him about Armaan's condition he said he had seen him holding his right arm and wincing but the paramedics had ushered him into the ambulance, so he couldn't see anything more.

Riddhima was feeling somewhat better after hearing something about them, but she was anxious to see them. Suddenly there was a chaos at the hospital entrance, as paramedics rushed in with a stretcher announcing that it was an emergency and asking everyone to move out of the way. As they rushed past, Riddhima spotted that it was Armaan on the stretcher and screamt "Armaaaaaan."
