Heena looked at Ammy. She was furious that the song track had to change right when she stepped on the dance floor. But the situation was out of her control. What could she do now? As Heena and Ammy both stood on the dance floor contemplating their next move, JP signalled at a guy.

The guy came and bumped Heena in such a way that she landed in Ammy's arms. As soon as Heena sensed Ammy's arms around her thin 23 inches waist, she felt awkward and looked up at Ammy. This was the first time she was in this kind of situation. She swore in French in her thoughts about the whole situation. Whenever she was mad, that's what she would do to get her frustration out. 'Qu'est ce que je pourrais faire de sortir de cette maudite situation- What could I do to get out of this annoying situation'. Ammy grinned at her softly, in a sense gesturing an apology that he didn't expect things to turn the way they did. Figuring that the only face saving way out of the whole mess was to stick it out on the dance floor for a while, Heena nodded her head in acceptance of his gesture.

As they danced, Heena avoided looking in Ammy's eyes directly. Ammy felt uneasy as well. He remembered how there was a time when he would have the love of his life in his arms. Woh bhi kya din thei, kya khoobsurat lamhe thei. Pata nahin Riddhima ki tabeeyat theek hai ya nahin. Then his head would reason back 'Uske paas uska pati Siddhant hai. Who ab Siddhant ki responsibility. Tum mat karo uski fikr. Siddhant hai na uske liye. Apne aap ko sameto Armaan.' He also felt sorry for Heena, because he knew she was uncomfortable, and perhaps was in this kind of situation for the first time, and all of this in a sense happened because of him. While he was busy blaming himself, Heena was on the other hand frustrated at herself for accepting the dance. Why didn't she just say no? Why did she make it an ego issue? Well pay the price for it Dr.Heena Verma. You will have put up with Sanjeevani's Dr.He-man because you asked for it Heena you idiot!

On the other side of the dance floor, Yuvi-Naina, Suvarna and JP were watching their senior docs dance. As the song went "Har ghadi badal rahi hai roop zindagi", The interns commented among themselves:

Suvarna-"Man they look good together. They're like putting fire on the dance floor"

Naina-"Dono kitne shy lag rahe hain, but cute hain na!"

JP-"Dr.Heena toh ekdam ek lal gulab flowerji lag rahi hain Armaan Bhaiya ke bade muscles wale baahon mein"

Riddhima as she saw them so close, couldn't bear the pain. The lyrics 'Chaahe tumhe jo poore dil se, Milta hai woh mushkil se' echoed in her ears. Right in front her was Ammy whose arms were around another girl. Perhaps a more deserving girl she thought. But he is still my Armaan, no? Perhaps no more Riddhima. Her mind retaliating 'You decided to leave him, even when you had the chance to go ahead with the divorce, you betrayed him. Then how can he be yours? Why do you keep oscillating? You chose Sid, so stay faithful to him. Why does seeing Armaan interact with Heena cause you unbearable pain? You chose that pain Riddhima. You made Armaan bleed a million deaths, still the poor guy didn't complain. You wiped off his smile, still he didn't complain. And now when he has finally started getting back to his old joyful self, you are having a hard time accepting? You are just so selfish Riddhima, when did you become so selfish?' Unable to watch Armaan any longer, she faked a headache to Sid, her husband:

Riddhima-"Sid, meri tabeeyat ab aur kharab lag rahi hai. Agar tum rukna chahte toh theek hai. Par main sochti hoon main car lekar chali jaaon"

Sid-"Kya hua Riddhima? Achha theek hai chalo ghar. Main bhi waise aaram karma chahta hoon. " Turning towards Yuvi-"Hey dude, ab hum chalte hain. See you guys. Bye"

As the Modis went out, Mrs. Riddhima Modi gave a small fleeting glance at Dr. Armaan with teary eyes.

Heena got out of her self-blaming mode only when she felt she was suddenly pinned to the wall as Ammy got pushed by someone while dancing. As Ammy moved apart from Heena, not only did he get a whif of her perfume (Ralph Lauren's Chaps for Women), but also his gaze met her big deep sparkling green eyes. She quickly lowered her eyes, and he too didn't want to look into them. He always felt that eyes reflected the person's purity. He had already once looked deep down in one pair of eyes, and he felt that he had made a mistake. How could his judgement be so erroneous he always wondered in his free time.

Stepping apart from her, Ammy apologized-"I'm really sorry Dr. Heena"

Heena still feeling uneasy-"It's ok Dr. Mallick. It wasn't your fault"

As Heena finished her sentence, Ammy felt his cell ringing. Thank God this rang he thought to himself. He felt relieved as he excused himself from Heena to attend the call. While Heena waited for him, she figured that she would let him know she was feeling tired, and ask him to drop her home. 'He won't refuse that' Heena thought to herself. As she was contemplating her exit strategy, a flirtatious guy approached her.

Guy -"Well hello Gorgeous, where have you been hiding all this time? Care to dance"

Heena -"No thanks. I'm tired"

Guy -"How come beautiful? Come on, it's only one dance" Saying this he tried to grab Heena's left hand.

Heena was trembling with fury, her face became red -"How dare you have the audacity to do this"

"Hi Jaana, kya ho raha hai"- Ammy came and put his arm protectively around Heena. Giving the guy a stern look "Koi problem hai kya Sweetheart?"

Guy as he backed out being intimidated by Ammy-"Ah I thought she needed something. I didn't know you were here. I'll get going now"

Heena removing Ammy's arm-"Yeh kya kar rahe ho? Aur yeh jaana aur sweetheart mere upar mat use kiya karo. Plus interns bhi yahaan hain. Woh kya socheinge. Main nahin chahti ki Sanjeevani mein humein lekar log gossip karein"

Ammy smirked, sensing how conscious Heena was about rumors-" Waah kisi ka bhala karo, thanks toh dur ki baat. Upar se daant hi milti hai. Kya zamana hai!"

Heena a little upset-"Listen I didn't mean in that way"

Ammy giving an evil cute smile-"So in what way did you mean it? Agar yahaan interns nahin hote toh theek tha kya?"

Heena all angry-"Bhaad mein jaao tum. Main jaa rahi hoon." Heena proceeded to walk out of the club.

Ammy shook his head chuckling to himself 'She's so teasable! Who would think renowned Oncologist Dr. Heena Verma can get irritated like this...Ok I better take leave from Yuvi, kyunki iss sirphiri Heena ka koi bharosa nahin, aur raat bhi kaafi ho chuki hai.'

Club Diva's Parking Lot:

Heena muttering to herself-"What does he think of himself. Beyhuda mazaak karega, aur main seh loongi. Bilkul nahin. Ek number ka gadha hai woh"

"Aur gadha gadhi ke peeche peeche hi jaata hai"-Ammy called out to Heena mockingly

Heena all frustrated-"What did you call me?"

Ammy-"Maine tumhe kab awaaz di? I just said gadha gadhi ke hi peeche jaata hai. Waise hi ladke bhi ladkiyon ke peeche jaate hain. Kyun sahi kaha na?"

As Ammy heads towards his car, he sees that Heena is still at the gate. 'Ah so Miss NRI wants to get a cab ride'- he shook his head. Ab issay kaun kahe ki cab nahin milne wali, aur agar milegi bhi toh yeh Mumbai hai meri jaan, koi USA ya Canada nahin. God she's so naive this girl. Chalo Sanjeevani ki musibat ko ab ghar mujhe hi chhorna hoga. Kaafi bhaari padi hai mujhe Sanjeevani ki yeh imported aafat. Dr. Shashank par pressure dekar iske transportation issues jald hi solve karne honge, varna main sach mein pagal ho jaaonga.'

As he started his car he glanced once again at her, her innocent face in a pout due to her irritation at her colleague. Ammy reved up his car's engine to get her attention, but she ignored him. Kya Nakhrewaali hai yeh ladki. Mujhe hi kyun nakhre sehne padte hain.

Heena turned her face in the opposite direction as Ammy's car approached her. Ammy kept reving his car's engine, but to no avail, He honked at her, but still no results. She remained indifferent. Finally he got out of his car, and opened the passenger's side door for her.

Ammy bowing to Heena-"Memsahiba, banda haazir hai aapki savaari lekar. Ab toh chaliye please"

Heena just shot him an icy stare.

Ammy finally getting serious-"Dekho raat kaafi chuki hai. Aur yeh India hai, USA ya Canada nahin. Please car mein baith jaao. Agar tumhe koi baat nahin karni mujhse then that's fine. Bas sirf car mein baith jao. Tum baithe baithe bhi mujhe yeh gusse wale looks de sakti ho. Come on now, please"

Heena thought to herself- 'Hmm, ab aaya na uunth (camel) pahar ke neeche.' "Fine"

Neither Heena nor Armaan were aware that their beloved interns were attentively watching their whole charade. The interns knew that had Ammy and Heena found out it was the interns' plan to get them together to dance, they (interns) would have surely been assigned to rectal duty 24 X 7 for atleast 3 consecutive months!

Yuvi commenting-"Takkaar hai"

JP adding his rural knowledge -"Humre Mughalsarai mein log kehte hain ki jahan pyaar hota hai, wahan takkaar bhi hota hai"

Naina thinking-"Meaning, agar yahan takkaar, toh pyaar bhi ho jaayega! Right guys?"

Suvarna beaming brightly-"Right!"

Ammy's car approaching Heena's Place:

Throughout the whole ride, both senior docs were quiet. Heena was quiet because she was offended by Ammy's remark after the incident at the Club. She was always very sensitive about her image. She never wanted any link-ups with her name. Heena did realize that she did owe to Ammy for coming in time to help her from the idiot she met at the club, and for driving her safely home. However, as much as she wanted to acknowledge his kind acts, she was equally furious at his 'Agar yahaan interns nahin hote toh theek tha kya?' comment.

On the other hand, Ammy was quiet because he didn't want to upset Heena more. He did shoot quick glances now and then at Heena. He too realized that perhaps he shouldn't have said what he said to Heena ' Main bhi idiot hoon. Jaanta hoon woh conservative hai, toh phir bhi eisi baatein kehta hoon jisse ussay chhidh hoti hai. Ok Armaan, maafi maangne se tum chhote nahin jaaoge! Maang lo maafi. Arrey main hi kyun, kya usne nakhre nahin dikhay? Ab ussay ghar bhi drop kar raha hoon main yeh sab ke hone ke baad bhi.'

As Heena's place came, Ammy stopped his car. He didn't look at Heena. Heena's good nature overpowered her irritation, and she broke the silence:

Heena-"You made one mistake, and that is something hits me at my core. I never had any link-ups, and have always wanted to keep my name clear of all this. If you want to think of me as the behenji type then you are free to do so. That's your opinion, and and you control that. However, for getting the jerk away from me at the club, and for dropping me home safely, I'd like to thank you. "

As she stepped out of the car, she looked at him and said-"Thank you Dr.Armaan" and left for her house. She figured that Ammy was perhaps not in the best of his moods, so it was wiser to let him cool down.

As she left, Armaan drove back to his house, imitating what Heena said 'You made one mistake, and that is something hits me at my core. I never had any link-ups, and have always wanted to keep my name clear of all this. ... However, for getting the jerk away from me at the club, and for dropping me home safely, I'd like to thank you. Thank you Dr.Armaan' Suddenly his head processed what she said 'Wait, did she address me by my first name? She called me Dr. Armaan? So wait does that mean she has finally broken the walls of formality with me, and considers me a friend? Armaan tu sahi mein idiot. Maafi maang leta. Dekh usne thanks bhi toh kaha tujhe, aur dosti ke liye aage badhi. Stupid hai tu! Phone karoon kya? Arrey nahin, itni raat ko theek nahin lagta hai. Kal karna, arrey nahin, behtar hoga agar tu ussay in person kahe. Toh kya uske ghar kal jaaon kya kal. Arrey phir wahin stupid wali galti. Jaanta hai na tu kitni conservative hai woh. Ab toh Monday se pehle nahin hoga yeh sab. '

Part 9

Sanjeevani 9 am, nurse station. Everyone except Dr. Heena is present

As Dr.Keerti assigns duties, Ammy notices that Heena is not present, however he wonders if it's safe to ask Dr.Keerti about her. He also notices that Riddhima has puffy eyes, but he knows it is better to avoid talking to her in order to prevent another ugly situation being created in Sanjeevani.

Keerti-"Dr. Naina, aap please Dr. Heena ke cabin mein report karein"

Naina worried in case Heena found out about the interns' Saturday plan-"Dr. Heena ke office?"

Keerti irritated at Naina-"Yes Dr. Heena aaj yahaan subah 7 am ko hi aa gayi thein. Unhein patients ke kuch tests karwane thei. Woh results dekh rahi hain apne cabin mein. Aur aap unko iss case par assist kar rahi hain."

Ammy thinking to himself-'Achha aaj subah subah hi Sanjeevani mein. Wow, really impressive Dr. Heena.'

As Keerti finished, all the interns and senior docs left for their duties. Keerti stopped Ammy.

Keerti-"Dr.Armaan, ab aapko Dr.Heena ko ghar pahunchane ki zaroorat nahin hai"

Ammy a little suprised-"Huh, I mean woh kyon Dr.Keerti?"

Keerti sensing that Ammy didn't have his morning coffee-"Kyunki unki transportation ka intezaam ho gaya hai. She's been provided a car for her travel needs"

Ammy putting up a smile-"Ah ok Dr.Keerti." ' Chalo ab Nakhrewali ke nakhre mujhe nahin uthaane honge!'

Dr. Heena's Office:

Heena and Naina are going over test results, and Naina is taking notes. They are discussing the best approaches regarding the patient's case.

Heena-"We've determined that the tests are positive, and that it is the initial stage"

Naina-"So we have good chances to remove the cancer"

Heena as she emails Naina some attachments-"Well better chances, but we still need to stay vigilant. To ensure we have completely eradicated the cancer, we need to have the patient under surveillance for the next 5 yrs. So Dr. Naina schedule a briefing session with patient and the patient's family. We need to get going asap. And please refer to the notes I've emailed you. They are vital for the treatment. You need to know the techniques if we are to use them. And if you don't understand something, don't feel shy to come ask me. That's why I'm your senior, Ok?"

Naina-"Dr. Heena, can I ask you something"

Heena looking away from her laptop, towards Naina-"Sure"

Naina-"How are you so knowledgeable? I'm in awe of you at times"

Heena laughing -"No need to be in awe Naina. I hope you are not intimidated!"

Ammy knocks at the door as Heena finishes her sentence.

Heena looking at the door-"Yes Doctor, do come in. Something I can help with?"

Ammy-"Yes, we need to discuss this bone cancer case Doctor. I hope I'm not disturbing you"

Heena looking at Naina as she's unsure if Naina has more questions. Naina figures it's her cue to leave.

Naina-"Well, Dr. Heena, I'll go prepare myself. Thank you"

Ammy smiles teasingly at Heena as Naina heads out-"And Dr. Naina you don't need to be awe of a doctor who already in her intership days had medical articles published in the American Journal of Medicine"

Naina smiles at Ammy thinking 'Waah, kaafi research kar rahein Armaan Bhaiya Dr. Heena ke baare mein. Main inki baatein chupke chupke door ke peeche se sunti hoon'

Heena smiling-"So you were playing detective I see"

Ammy as he sits- "Well, see I have this patient's case. And I figured let's see what would be the best treatment, and guess what I found. So many articles written by Dr. Heena Verma. The very same Dr. Heena who was with me Saturday evening. Who would have thought!"

Heena remebering the night-"Yeah yeah..."

Ammy getting a soft-"Heh listen. I wanted to say something. I wanted to say..I wanted to say..."

Heena looking at Ammy wanting to irritate him-"Yes go on Doctor...You know I don't have all day!"

Ammy annoyed by her pushing him-"Arrey yaar, Sorry bolne ka time bhi nahin deti ho tum."

Heena started giggling at Ammy's confession. She knew he was a good person at heart.

Ammy feeling a little relaxed-"Haan, mujhe woh nahin kehna chahiye tha Saturday. You were justified in your temper. I wanted to apologize you this Saturday night itself, but I couldn't call you so late, and then I figured it was best to say it person, but I couldn't met you Sunday, because I know you wouldn't like me coming up at your place, so I had to wait till today. And I was waiting for you in the morning at the nurse station, but Dr.Keerti said you already were waiting for Naina in your office, and abhi abhi mujhe break mila! So I'm sorry about Saturday"

Heena smiling at Ammy-"Apology accepted"

Ammy grinning cutely-"So, ab hum friends hain na?"

Heena pretending she didn't get what he meant-"Excuse me, I don't think we're on the same wavelength"

Ammy-"Chalo chalo. Ab bano mat! When I dropped you off Saturday night, you addressed me as Dr. Armaan. Otherwise you never do that!"

Heena-"Ab kya har baat tumhe specify karni hogi buddhu ram? Just in case you were still lost, yes I've decided to be a little less formal with you"

Ammy still a little unsure, and wanting to make no mistakes this time-"So friends?"

Heena sighing as she rolled her eyes-"Yes, friends!"

Naina in the meantime was busy eavesdropping, and her eyes get bigger as she hears this 'Waah, kya baat hai. Gaadi pattri par aa rahi hai dheere dheere!'

Sanjeevani Cafe:
Naina rushes to the Cafe, to give the hot news to her friends. As she informed her gang, everyone 'hi-fived' each other on a mission well accomplished.

All the interns are then busy looking at the pictures of Yuvi's b'day bash. They even took pics of Ammy and Heena dancing, and of when Ammy had put his arm around Heena.

Suvarna on the senior docs' pic-"They make a hot couple, no?"

JP-"Aapne bilkul sahi kaha ji"

Soon Riddhima came to join them. Siddhant was missing the fun as he was in OT. She forced a smile on her face as the interns showed her pics of her and Siddhant. However, Ammy & Heena's pics caught her attention. She just kept looking at them without blinking an eye. Kabhi socha bhi nahin tha ek din eisa aayega. She then remembered her stupid fights with Ammy over Dr. Shubhankar's cousin Babli, and how it all now seemed meaningless. 'Woh zindagi mein aage badh gaya hai Riddhima. Tumhe khush hona chahiye ki jiske saath woh aage badha hai, woh ladki har tarah se uske laayak hai.' This was her head, but how could she convince her heart? Riddhima excused herself from the interns on the pretext she had to some run some patients' tests. She couldn't let anyone see the tears that were brimming her eyes.

Shortly after Riddhima left, Ammy had coaxed Heena in coming to the cafe with him to ensure that indeed she had fully accepted his apology. The interns started to whisper as they see both Ammy & Heena coming together:

Naina-"Pyaar ki pehli seedhi takkaar, jo in mein Saturday ko ho gayi. Aur ab pyar ki doosri seedhi dosti par chadhey hain humare pyare pyare senior docs"

Yuvi-"Ab dekhein aage aage hota hai kya!"

JP-"Jo bhi ho Bade Bhaiya, humein khush hona chahiye , ki kam se kam ab Armaan Bhaiya ke liye ek dost toh hai"

Suvarna agreeing-"JP sahi keh raha hai"

As Heena saw the interns, she smiled and waved at them.

Suvarna-"Dr. Heena would you like to see Yuvi b'day bash pics?"

Ammy teasingly addressing Suvarna-"Yeh invitation lagta hai sirf Dr. Heena ke liye hai!"

Yuvi-"Arrey nahin, Dr. Armaan please aap bhi aayiye. Aapke bhi pics hain"

Heena compliments her interns on their pics:

Heena-"Well Dr. Naina & Dr. Suvarna you both look so pretty in the pics. And the male interns as well are very dashing"

Suvarna & Naina showing the pic of Ammy with his arm around Heena- "Well Dr. Heena, we thought someone else was looking breathtakingly gorgeous Saturday"

Ammy seeing the pic, decides to self-compliment himself to tease Heena -"Arrey, gorgeous nahin girls, you mean to say handsome, charming, macho" and turning towards Heena he whispers "waise iss pic ko dekhkar koi nahin keh sakta tum behen ji type ho!" And then he drops his teasing tone and tells Heena "And I don't think you're the behen ji type. The first time I saw you, I was shocked to learn that you were such a renowned doctor. Tumhari jagah main kisi kharoos buddhe ko soch raha tha!" Heena couldn't stop herself from smiling after hearing Ammy's last line. The interns on the other hand were exchanging looks and smirking at the interaction between the two senior docs.

Sanjeevani 9 p.m:

Shanky passes by Heena's office. He is suprised to see Dr. Heena still in her cabin working. He knocks at her door

Heena seeing Shanky, gets up-"Ah yes Hello Dr.Gupta"

Shanky-"Hello Doctor. How come you're still here. You've been working long hours I've heard from Dr.Keerti."

Heena-"Ah, no Dr.Gupta. There was just some things that I wanted to wrap up before tomorrow. But I am done now, and was about to leave"

Shanky-"Then come along then. We'll go together"

Heena-"Sure"

As Heena and Shanky came to the reception desk, they met Sister Stella. She didn't look well.

Heena-"Sister are you ok? You don't seem well"

Sister-"Just very tired Dr. Heena"'

Heena approached to touch her head. Sister Stella had a burning fever.

Heena-"Sister you have a fever. Have you taken any medications?"

Stella-"No Doctor"

Shanky then prescribes the medications-"Sister aap please yeh meds le lijiyega"

Stella-"Thank you Sir"

Heena-"Sister go take the meds. I wil drop you home afterwards. I'm here waiting for you. I know it won't take you more than 5 mins"

Stella-"Thank you so much Dr. Heena"

Heena smiling-"Ah don't mention it. Just hurry up Sister"

Shanky addressing Heena-"Well Dr. Heena, I'll get going now. Bye" 'Kitna kaam karti hai yeh ladki, kabhi kabhi lagta hai yeh machine hai. Aur har waqt doosron ke baare mein sochti rehti hai. Bahut kam eise log hote hain duniya mein.' Shanky thought as he parted towards his car.

Sanjeevani June 21st, 2010 8:45 am, nurse station.

All the interns along with Riddhima had assembled, and were briefly chit chatting. Armaan came with his files and avoided looking at Riddhima. He already knew that he had to be working on a case with Siddhant, so he felt it was wise to keep friction as low as possible. Thankfully on this case he was not alone with Sid. He had Yuvi and Suvarna working as well. However, his biggest sigh of relief was having Heena on the team as well. After all it was a bone cancer case, hence there was the absolute need of both an Oncologist and an Orthopedic surgeon.

Soon the interns' attention got diverted to a 'tak tak' sound. [Desi Girl theme playing] They realized that Dr. Heena was coming, and that too in her signature style of brisk walking. Somehow she held all of Sanjeevani spellbound. Everything about her was unique, and her charisma easily attracted attention of even those who were not paying attention to her in the first place. She arrived at the Nurse station in a blue skirt suit, paired with a pastel pink shirt. Accentuating her beautiful neckline was a thin necklace of cultured pearls with matching earrings.

Shortly afterwards Dr.Keerti arrived and guided the interns to their duties. Dr. Heena and Dr. Armaan were followed by Sid, Yuvi, and Suvarna to a small conference room where they would discuss the findings of the tests that were readied by the Radiology dept. Heena knew it was important to test the knowledge of the interns on the case, as later in the afternoon they would be meeting up with the patient and his family. Hence, it was absolutely necessary that all interns were aware in detail about the case, and understood the course of treatment. Heena started to ask Yuvi and Suvarna questions, and they answered satisfactorily. Sid on the other hand did not prepare during the week-end. He had too many turbulent problems in his marriage, and these problems were draining the energy out of him. Sid fumbled as Heena asked him questions. So she decided to ask him easier questions, and still he was not able to provide convincing answers. Heena realized that Sid had made no preparations, and that it was unsafe to have him on the case. Any little neglience on Siddhant's part could prove to be diastrous towards the patient. Heena squeezed the 'stress ball' she always carried in her knee length white lab coat. She knew what course of action she had to take, and she hated having to do that.

Heena in a calm firm voice -"Dr. Modi, where is the door of this room?"

Sid a little confused along with the rest of the doctors at this question, points to the door-"Uhm.. it's that way"

Heena-"Then use it. I'm discharging you from this case"

Everyone shocked at her statement. Sid tries to protest.

Sid- "But Dr.Heena I .."

Heena getting furious that her intern had not heeded to her first day's warning-"Siddharth maine keh diya so keh diya"

Everyone shocked and looking at Heena with puzzled looks thinking 'who is Siddharth?' They knew that Heena was too efficient to just say any name out like that as an error. There was definately a connection with the name 'Siddharth' and Dr. Heena, however right now was not the best time to ask. Heena on the other hand, realized what she said, and rectified it immediately "I mean Dr. Siddhant Modi please leave. We will discuss your status later in the day. Alright"

Sid had no choice but to agree. The rest of the doctors continued discussing the case, what the approach would be, and how they would inform the patient Major Rathore and his family. After the meeting, Heena who was furious at having no choice but to kick Sid of her team, walked away in her 'Tommy Hilfiger' blue pumps in a fury towards the cancer ward to check up on her other patients.

Mid-day Sanjeevani corridors: Riddhima stops Ammy to ask what happened in the morning that Heena removed Sid from her team:

Riddhima as Armaan sees her and tries to walk past her with lowered eyes-"Armaan ruko"

Armaan stops. How could he not stop? It was after all Riddhima calling him.

Riddhima, continuing-"Armaan yeh main kya sun rahi hoon? Dr. Heena ne Sid ko oncology cases sey remove kar diya?"

Armaan feels daggers being thrown in his hearts witnessing the concern Riddhima has for Sid. His mind pacifies him -' She's Sid's wife. It's natural for her be concerned about his well-being' He kept his composure intact as he answered without looking at her-"Because Heena didn't feel that he was well-prepared. And this could harm the patient whose responsibility lies on Heena. The best I can do is perhaps try to reason with her to allow Sid back on the team. However, knowing how dedicated she is towards her work, I doubt I can influence her decision. I don't think even Dr. Shashank will be able to change her decision. She does what she says" Saying this, Armaan gives Riddhima a quick glance and leaves to meet Major Rathore heavy-heartedly.

Riddhima reflecting on what Ammy told her- 'Ab yeh dono itne kareeb aa gaye ki bas ussay Heena kehta hai Armaan. He no longer addresses her as Dr. Heena . You had your chance Riddhima, and you lost it. You can't keep anyone happy, not Armaan, not Sid, and neither your own self.'

Dr. Heena's cabin, 8:00pm

Heena is sadly looking at some pictures which she safe-keeps in her drawers. She thinks of her past and sees how void her present is.

Breaking her from her train of thoughts is Sid knocking at her door.

Heena putting away the pictures-"Come in"

Sid-"Dr. Heena, you called for me"

Heena softly speaking-"Yes I did. Please take a seat Siddhant"

Heena stands up and goes about explaining him the risks of being unprepared, the different complications that could arise, and the after effects of those complications. Sid is astonished by the knowledge she just imparted to him, and he realizes that her decision was right. She was justified in removing him because the patient's safety could not be compromised. What suprised him more was the caring way she further addressed him:

Heena-"Dekho Siddhant, main tumhari dusman nahin hoon. Tumhara bhala chahti hoon. I'm your senior and mentor, I'd always want you to succeed in life. And you have the traits to become an excellent doctor. You just need to focus a little. Tum mere liye mere chhote bhai ki tarah ho, and if you demonstrate to me you've become more focussed and responsible towards your work, I'll have no problems re-instating you in my Oncology team." Saying this, she patted Siddant's head the way an older sibling would, and gave an assurring smile.

Heena smiling to Sid-"Well, is that alright with you? I'm sure you will be able to prove yourself Dr. Modi"

Sid replying back-"I promise I won't let you down Dr. Heena. Not this time. Thank you, I should be going now as Riddhima is waiting for me"

Heena happy that Sid understands her point of view-"Ok then, Byebye"

As Sid left, he felt an enormous amount of guilt. How could I throw such cheap comments like hot NRI chick at Dr. Heena. I mean she is so above us all. She treats me like a brother, and I ??? Argh I hate myself now. People like her are rare to find in this world. Sid engrossed in his own thoughts failed to notice Armaan who was behind Heena's Office door. Armaan too was lost in his thoughts as he headed out of Sanjeevani 'Aaya tha main Heena ko samjhaane. Par iski koi zaroorat hi nahin. She's so wise, and understanding. Ussay main kya samjhaoonga. Hitler ki Nani jitni khud ko strict dikhaati hai, utni hi soft bhi hai. A total complex character indeed' Armaan smiled as he thought this. He loved the analogy 'Hitler ki Nani' that the interns had given Heena. However, if they witnessed what he did, he was sure they would never further address her like that.

Part 11

Sanjeevani August 23rd, 2010 9 am, nurse station.

Everyone except Dr.Heena is present. Dr. Keerti assigns everyone their duties.

Naina-"Dr.Keerti, Dr. Heena kahaan hain?"

Keerti-"Unhone aaj leave li hai. Par unhone kaha ki agar koi emergency ho toh unhein hum contact kar lein"

Naina-"Oh ok"

General Ward:

Ammy treating Nana

Nana-"Eh Apple, Dr. Heena kaisi hain?"

Ammy irritated at Nana-"Achhi hain. Kyon?"

Nana-"Arrey bharakta kyon hai? Bahut din se nahin dekha, isliye puchh raha tha. Sun na, mujhe unse mila de aaj. Unhein dekhoonga, toh achha lagega"

Ammy-"Nana woh aaj nahin aayi hain. Unki chhuti hai"

Nana- "Samajh gaya, isliye tu itna chidchidha hai!"

Ammy getting annoyed-"Nana, aisa kuch nahin hai. Woh meri colleague, achhi dost. Humein ek saath kaam karna hota hai, toh understanding hai hamare beech"

Nana-"Toh log kya doston ko miss nahin karte? Tu bhi na Apple!"

Just then Suvarna and Yuvi came to see Armaan regarding the bone cancer case. They wanted to understand something from him. From the bone cancer case files, a piece of paper fell down which Yuvi picked up. He was amazed reading the paper, and what was more amazing in whose handwriting it was written in:

Jo karte hain sadke maut ke
Kyun milte hain unhein deedar zindagi ke

Suvarna-"Yuvi tum kya dekh rehe ho"

Yuvi looking at Suvarna & Armaan-"Sue, yeh handwriting Dr. Heena ki hi hai na?"

The other two doctors confirmed that indeed it was Dr. Heena's writing.

Suvarna-"Dr. Heena shayaari bhi karti hain? Wow, I am suprised."

Yuvi getting a little serious-"Suprising woh nahin hai Suvarna. Suprising hai Dr. Heena ne likha kya hai. It's like worrisome"

Armaan dismissing Yuvi's fears-"Yuvi, shayad unhone kahin se copy kiya ho. We can't be sure of anything with this piece of paper. Par tab tak main issay rakhta hoon."

Heena's house 5pm:

Heena hadn't ate nor drank anything since the day before. August 22 was the day she hated the most in the whole year. It was the day her whole life changed. The life which was blissful for her changed dramatically. That dreaded day, everything changed, and impacted Heena the most. Dressed in a white salwar kurta, she was griefing and her griefing knew no end. At fate's hands she had lost everything.

She spent her time flipping through her photo album, revisiting memories which now could never be relived. Tears covered her sad face. How she wished that it should have been her that day, not Siddharth. She prayed God to continue giving her the strength to carrying on in her life. Suddenly Heena heard her cell ringing. It was a call from Sanjeevani. An emergency had occurred, and she was required ASAP. Heena promptly went to start her car, and headed towards Sanjeevani.

Sanjeevani 5:20 pm

Heena hurried towards the cancer ward in Sanjeevani. In the car ride itself, she had been briefed by Naina about the emergency. Heena lost no time, she went straight ahead with the patient's chemotherapy, monitoring at what dosage the chemo should be done and what kind of chemo to give.

As she gained control of her patient's condition, she assigned Naina to monitor, while she headed out. She was feeling weak, and as she passed by the general ward, she heard Nana calling out to her. she glanced, and saw Ammy, Suvarna, and Yuvi. Ammy seeing her was shocked. Well it was the first time he saw her in traditional clothes, but what struck him more was the sorrow on her pale face. He hurried towards her, and just in time caught her before she fell down fainting.

Ammy stressed out-"Heena, Heena. Kya hua"

Patient Room 6pm

Dr.Shashank and Ammy looking at Heena as she is slowly regaining consciousness.

Heena as she opens her eyes-"Ah, where am I"

Shanky-"Dr. Heena, you fainted. You've been working too hard, and it appears that you have not ate for 2 days. Doctors bhi insaan hote hain Dr. Heena. This continuous over 10 hrs shifts each day is taking a toll on you"

Heena as she gets up slowly-"So exersion is the culprit" How can I tell anyone. I have to hide my pain. I have to be strong in front of everyone.

Ammy concerned-"Itni efficient doctor jo khud apna khayaal nahin rakhti. Kitni ajeeb baat hai na Dr. Heena"

Heena becomes a little smug at Ammy's comment. She couldn't think of a comeback. Just then Sid and Riddhima come to see Heena after hearing the news.

Shanky-"Aap lucky hain ki Dr. Armaan ne aapko sahi waqt par dekh liya tha Dr. Heena. Aap thoda rest karein. Phir aapke patients ko bhi aapki zaroorat hai" Shanky left giving Heena a reassurring smile.

Sid-"Dr. Heena, ab kaisi tabeeyat hai aapki?"

Riddhima adding in-"Haan Dr. Heena, ab aap kaisi hain?"

Heena smiling-"No, I'm alright now. I believe I'm going to be just fine under Dr. Armaan's supervision" Then turning towards Armaan -"Right Dr. Armaan?"

Ammy smiling back at his patient-"You're absolutely right, and I am discharging you tomorrow. So you will have to spend tonight in Sanjeevani. And guess who is the unfortunate doctor that has night duty today?? "

Heena giggling-"Hmm let me guess....Dr. Armaan? Oh lucky me! I will be annoying you as much as I want now"

Ammy playfully answering Heena back-"Arrey! Patient ho gayi ho toh iska matlab yeh nahin ki tum mujhe harass karo. You're only a patient for tonight remember! Aur agar tumne aaj raat mujhe tang kiya, toh main badla zaroor loonga Dr. Heena. Dekho panga mat lena, main keh raha hoon!" Saying this Armaan does some wacky stupid karate moves -"Mujhe bhi karate aata hai"

Heena pretending to be scared-"Oooh I'm so scared, NOT!!" With this being said by Heena, both her and Armaan started laughing at themselves for being so childish!

Riddhima thinking to herself Armaan ko kitna khayaal hai Heena ka. Dono khush lag rahein hain. Shayad yehi sahi hai. Par kyon main inn dono ko saath dekhkar dard mehsus karti hoon.

Sid on the other hand noticing the comaraderie between Heena and Armaan -Dr. Heena aur Armaan achhe dost bann gaye hain. Agar dosti se zyada ho jaaye toh?

Coming up: Shashank inviting doctors for an evening dinner at his place where he wants to announce some important news.
