JP-"Armaan Bhaiya, aap se ek baat puchhni thi"

Ammy busy looking in his patients' files-"Haan bolo"

JP-"Woh kal raat kya baat huyi thi jo Dr.Keerti ne Dr.Heena ko akele ghar jaane ki permission nahin di?"

Naina-"Haan aisi kya baat huyi. Dr.Heena ne toh Sanjeevani kal hi join kiya hai "

Ammy stops reading his files, looks up at his interns, and goes-"Tum logon ko yeh baat jaanni itni zaroori kyon hai?"

JP-"Nahin Armaan bhaiya, hum toh waise hi..."

Armaan smiling at his curious but kind-hearted interns-"Well bas baat yeh ki Dr.Heena Sanjeevani ki ek visiting attending doctor hain, woh bhi ek foreign citizen. Kal raat kisi idiot ne unke saath chhedkhaani karne ki koshish ki thi jab main parking lot mein tha"

JP all excited-"Ah samajh gaye, sab samajh gaye. Aap ne uss gadhe ki pitaai ki thi tab. Hai na?"

Ammy a little irritated that JP is always jumping to false conclusions-"Arrey nahin yaar. Dr.Heena ne mujhe apna laptop aur purse pakra diya, aur khud chal padi thien uss idiot ko sabak sikhane. "

JP and Naina confused-"Kya? Aapke rehte huye? Aapko apna purse pakra di?"

Ammy turning towards JP-"Haan kyunki Dr.Heena khud karate ki black belt champion hain. So meri ek baat maano tum sabhi male interns. Tumhare muh se jo yeh laad tapakti hai na unko dekh kar; usko control karo, varna tum par bhi woh apna karate wala haath chal deingi, aur tab ilaaj karwaate rehna Sanjeevani mein"

JP getting intimidated-"Arrey baap re. Yeh Dr. Heena toh Amitabh Bacchan ji bahut badi fan lagti hain! Unki tarah hi angry young woman hain. Kaafi karak hain. Humein abhi bhi unka morning wala gussa yaad hai. Woh toh Hitler ki bhi nani nikli! "

Ammy laughing at JP's analogy regarding Dr.Keerti-"Achha guys tum log abhi jaao, mujhe bhi apna kaam khatm karne do. Waise bhi Dr.Keerti agar aa gayein yahaan toh problem ho sakti hai."

JP-"Achha theek hai Armaan Bhaiya, hum baad mein milte hain aap se"

JP and Naina leave as Heena enters. Armaan is checking Nana's files. Nana sees Heena.

Nana to Ammy-"Eh Apple, tujhe kuch sunayi diya kya?" [Desi Girl score playing]. Ammy shakes his head in negative.

Nana grabbing Ammy and whispering as he points towards Heena-"Apple yeh chaand kahan se dikh raha woh bhi Sanjeevani mein!"

Ammy giving a sigh, as he should have figured out earlier-"Arrey nahin Nana. Woh chaand nahin, woh Dr.Heena hai."

Nana all excited, his eyes getting big!-"Woh doctor hai. Sun na, mere ko bhi ussay ilaaj karana hai. Kya mulgi hai Apple. Main toh ussay dekhte hi theek ho jaaonga!"

Ammy getting stressed, as he doesn't want Heena to get offended by hearing Nana's stupidities-"Arrey Nana chup ho jaao. Varna woh Jhansi ki Rani tumhare bhi haath paeir tod degi"

Just then Heena goes-"Hello Dr.Mallick"

Ammy looking up -"Oh hello Dr.Heena"

Nana giving a goofy smile-"Hello Dr.Heena ji"

Heena looking at Nana, and smiles-"Hello er..."

Nana-"Nana, mera naam Nana hai"

Ammy wishing that Nana would shut up-"Haan, yeh Mr.Nana Despande hain"

Heena smiling her famous 1000W smile (which would be a tough competition to Madhuri Dixit's smile)-"Oh achha Mr.Despande. Aap se mil kar khushi huyi. Mujhe yakeen hai aap Dr.Mallick ke ilaaj se ekdam theek ho jaayenge"

Nana getting a little loud and excited-"Arrey khaak theek ho jaaonga. Is Apple se kuch nahin ho raha!"

Heena smiling and turning towards Ammy-"Apple huh? Well Dr.Mallick I was just passing by, and saw you. Wanted to ask you around what time will you be done for the day, as Dr.Rai has instructed me to go with you"

Ammya little embarressed with Nana's outburst-"Well, I should be done by 5 pm today."

Heena-"That sounds good. In case you don't see me in my cabin, I'll be in the gym alright? Just page me. Or should I meet you in the parking lot?"

Ammy thinking-"Ah no, well actually it would be best if you waited near the reception desk"

Heena-"Alright then, as you wish. Thank you Dr.Mallick"

Heena turning towards Nana who was scrutinizing Apple's conversation with Heena- "And Mr. Despande, I wish you a speedy recovery". Saying this smilingly, she patted Nana's shoulders and left the ward.

Ammy who got completely confused with her behaviour was scratching his head "Mujhe toh laga Nana ko bhi yeh jhaapad degi. Par yeh Dr.Heena toh ek paheli hai. Kabhi koi reaction, toh kabhi koi aur reaction"

As Ammy was lost in his thoughts, so was Nana. Nana who was envisioning Dr.Heena in a typical Maharastrian attire, absentmindly goes -"Hay, Apple sun Heena Despande sunne mein kaisa lagta hai? Achha hai na?" This last statement of Nana's was enough to jerk Ammy out of his confusion-"Bahut hi kharab lagta hai. Nana uske sapne dekhna band kar. Agar usne Durga Ma ka roop le liya na, toh teri woh haalat karegi woh Dr.Heena, ki main toh kya, Dr.Shashank bhi ilaaj nahin kar paaenge tera!"

Sanjeevani Reception Desk 5:15 pm:

Heena is at the reception desk. Her face is glowing after her 1hr squash workout.

Sister Stella the gossipmonger smiling-"Hello Dr.Heena, kaisa lag raha Sanjeevani aapko?"

Heena-"Achha lag raha Sister Stella. Kaafi differences hain yahaan aur USA mein. But I still do like India"

Stella-"Oh yes, aap toh bahar se hain. Humne suna kal raat jo aapke saath hua"

Heena-"Well, India mein sabhi bahut caring hain sister. Aur yahaan mere seniors ko bhi mera bahut khayaal hai, isliye Dr.Rai ne mujhe akele ghar se mane kar diya. Unki baat ka maan rakhkar main Dr.Mallick ka wait kar rahi hoon. Dr.Rai ne unhein instruct kiya hai mujhe ghar chhorne ke liye jabtak Sanjeevani se mere transportation ka intezaam nahin ho jaata"

Just then the Modi couple comes. Riddhima to Heena-"Dr.Heena, aap chahein toh hum aapko chhor dein ghar?"

Sid-"Yes Doctor, aap chaliye hamare saath"

Heena gracefully declines-"Thank you for the offer Doctors, but I've already confirmed with Dr.Mallick, and I don't go back on my words. It looks bad if he comes searching and doesn't find me. Chaliye phir kabhi jaoongi aap dono ke saath"

As Heena finishes her sentence, she sees Dr.Mallick with his sportscoat heading towards her hurriedly.
Ammy-"Sorry to keep you waiting Dr.Heena, I was just caught up with an intern"

Heena teasingly answers back-"It's alright Dr.Mallick. It happens. But next time please don't be late, as I hate to wait!"

The Modi couple seeing Ammy get uncomfortable. They take their leave.
Sid-"Well we should get going as well. See you tomorrow then"

Heena-"Yes, and do be prepared for the Oncology cases doctor." And then looking at Ammy-"So shall we Dr.Mallick?" Ammy nods, leads her to his car.

As they head out, Stella thinks-"In dono ki jodi kitni achhi lagti hai. Dr.Heena mein zaara bhi ghamand nahin itni honhaar hone ke baad bhi, itni milansaar hain woh. Aur Dr.Armaan toh hamesha apne kaam ko badi lagan se karte hain aur hamesha bade respect ke saath sabhi se baat karte hain "

As Heena sits in Armaan's car next to him, Riddhima's eyes moisten thinking of the times when she was the one occuping the front seat in Armaan's car. She reasons with herself "I'm no longer Riddhima Gupta."

On the way to Heena's Hotel:

Heena sees chaatwala stands, and gets the urge to try paani-puri and vada paav.

Heena-"Dr.Mallick kya aap apni car side mein park sakte hain. Mujhe paani-puri khaana hai! Saalon beet gaye hain, chaatwalle ke yahaan paani-puri khaaye"

Ammy suprised at her request-"Par kya aapko yeh sab hazam hoga? I mean aapki immune system nahin handle kar paaegi."

Heena-"Aap mujhe underestimate na karein. Chaliye na please"

Ammy-"Theek hai, theek hai. Aap khud doctor hain, tabiyat kharab hogi, toh ilaaj kar sakti hain!"

As they ate pani-puris, Ammy saw Heena had a hard time finishing her paani-puris. The fact was that Heena's jaw was small, so she wasn't able to completely eat her paani-puris in just one bite. Seeing her misery Ammy smiled "Kaun keh sakta hai yeh wohin doctor hai jo aaj subah subah itni strict thi apne interns ke saath. Sach yeh bahut hi conflicting personality hai"

Heena sensing that Ammy was smiling her struggle to eat her paani-puris in just one bite, explains-"You see Dr.Mallick, even my dentist tells me that by looking at my mouth, one thinks it's the jaw of 12 year old kid. Sometimes she's like you don't talk much do you Heena. I bet that's why you have such a small mouth".

Ammy amused by her explaination-"Well Doctor, that's quite interesting! Tell me one thing, it's been baffling me all day. How come you didn't give Nana a karate blow today? I was so expecting it"

Heena smiling slowly-"Well that's because he is patient, and did not pose harm to me in any way. And I figured if I was gentle with him, it might help him recover faster"

Ammy started to reflect on her saying "She's so mature and caring towards patients. I guess Dr.Shashank was right in her praises. She is very sensible for a doctor her age. Just like Riddhima" Once again his momentary happiness became engulfed in his never-ending sadness.

Heena-"Earth to Dr.Mallick are you here?"

Ammy, coming back his senses-"Huh, yeah what happened"

Heena-"Seemed like you got lost somewhere. So I figured I needed to break you from your trance!"

Ammy trying to cover up-"Ah no, I started to think a little on Nana's case. That's all"

Heena-"You sure? You can tell me you know. I'm good at keeping secrets"

Ammy smiling-"Thanks for the offer. But I'm absolutely fine Dr.Heena. I never thought you'd want to eat at a Chatwalla's though! Especially for someone born, brought up in North America, educated at elite medical schools"

Heena giving a mischievious look-"Seems like you have a lot of stereotypes. Don't worry, I'll shatter them all. Just wait and watch. And I'd like you to remember one thing about me always: I'm more Indian at heart than you could ever think. Probably even more than you Dr.Mallick"

Ammy smiling at her statement reminiscing "That I've already seen Dr.Heena. The way you were awkward on my bike. It demonstrated to me how traditional you are. Don't worry I have no doubts about it"

Intern Locker Room:

All interns talking among themselves about Dr.Heena:

Yuvi-"She's strict, but she knows her work well. We'll get to learn a lot from her"

Suvarna-"She's efficient, plus she's also got class. Look at the way she dresses, and carries herself around"

Naina-"Yup she's so perfect. Wish we can be like her"

JP-"Kya like her. Unse itna darr lagata hai. Pata nahin kab karate kar de hum par, jaise uss loafer par kiya tha"

All the interns are puzzled, and then JP and Naina explain what they learnt from Armaan.

Suvarna-"Now I see why Dr.Keerti wants her to go with Dr.Armaan"

JP-"Haan Armaan Bhaiya hain bhi tandurust. Woh unki protection kar sakeinge. Phir dono senior doctors jo hain"

Sid-"Hmm, so the chick knows karate as well. She's getting more and more interesting"

Suvarna-"Bhai, why do you address her like that. She's our senior doc. And don't do that. You're already married"
All the interns start laughing. Sid gets smug, and tries to change topic.

Sid-"Arrey Yuvi, kal tera b'day hai. Party kahan rakh raha hai?"

Yuvi smiles as Naina chimes in-"Club Diva tomorrow at 7pm. How about it guys"

All interns-"Yup sounds good"

Sid gets an idea-"Hey why don't we invite Dr.Heena, she can give Riddhima company"

Suvarna thinking-"But bhai, then we need to invite Armaan as well, since he's the only senior doc left. And it doesn't look good if we exclude him"

Sid-"Arrey kya yaar"

Yuvi-"Sue's right. Don't forget humein Dr.Armaan ke neeche kaam bhi karna hoga. So unse pange mol na lein wohin achha hai"

Sid-"Fine unhein bhi kar lo invite."

Naina chalo hum unhein invite karne chalte hain. All the interns go to find Dr.Heena

Shanky's Office: Padma and Heena present

Shanky-"Yes Dr.Heena, yeh rahi aapke ghar ki chabhiyaain. Sorry it took some time"

Heena-"No problem Dr.Gupta. I guess I need to go buy some household stuff now, to make it look like a home! But I still have my transportation problem. I hate having to hassle Dr.Mallick to drop me off home. And I can't torture him to come along shopping with me. It would be taking too much liberties with the poor fellow"

Padma laughing-"Beta, chalo mere saath abhi. Meri car hai, aur driver bhi. Tumhare saath main chalti hoon. Waise bhi tum nayi ho yahaan, toh main tumhari help kar doongi, aur meri bhi ek chhoti si outing ho jaayegi"

Shanky smiling affectionately at his wife-"Haan Dr.Heena, Padma's right. Why don't you go with her"

Heena-"Well thank you so much. I feel so bad though"

Shanky-"Oh don't be. Now hurry up, get your stuff, and go with Padma"

Heena smiling-"Yes Dr.Gupta. Ma'am I'll meet you at the reception desk in 5 mins. I'm just going to get my purse. Ok thank you"

As Heena leaves, Padma goes to Shanky-"Kitni hansmukh hai. Achha swabhav hai. Sochti hoon agar Armaan maan jaata toh..."

Shanky concerned-"Padma, jaldbaazi mat karo. Armaan ko waqt do, ussay apne aapko phir se sametna do. Abhi toh yeh bas ek dosre ke colleagues hain, unme dosti hone do. Abhi bahut waqt hai Padma. Armaan ke zakhm itni jaldi nahin bhar jaayenge"

Padma melancholic with a downcast look-"Umeed karti hoon shayad Heena unn zakhmon ka ilaaj kar paae" Saying this, a tear fell from her eyes. For her, Armaan was the son she never had. She had long suspected the relationship that Armaan shared with Riddhima, and she adored him as well. Fate didn't let him become part of her family. Still she always prayed that God gave him peace, and returned him his smile in one way or another.

Reception Desk:

Heena was waiting for Padma to come when Armaan arrives.

Ammy-"Hi, was looking for you. You going somewhere? We'll need to discuss the case of Mrs.Talwar soon"

Heena-"Yes I suspect something there. But right now I'm leaving. Can this wait till Monday? Or else if you want we can discuss this during the week-end"

Interns (Yuvi, Naina, and JP) coming-"Hello Dr.Heena, Hello Dr.Armaan"

Ammy & Heena-"Hello doctors"

Naina-"Kal Yuvi ki b'day bash hai Club Diva mein. And we'd like you both to be there"

Heena-"But I can't."

Armaan-"Sorry guys, I have stuff to do"

Interns-"Oh no, you have to come. It's for Yuvi"

Yuvi-"Please Ma'am, and Dr.Armaan, aap meri khatir aa jaaye"

Heena-"Woh toh theek hai,, but I've never gone to clubs in my life"

Interns shocked at her statement, including Armaan.
JP-"Toh ab chaliye na. Zindagi mein har cheez ke liye ek 1st time hota Dr.Heena. Kyun sahi keh rahe hain na hum Armaan Bhaiya"

Ammy a little lost thinking Riddhima would also probably be there-"Haan JP woh toh hai"

Padma pitches in from behind-"Kya tum dono bhi. Ab itne pyaar se invite kar rahe hain, aur tum dono nakhre dikha raho. Jao, thoda enjoy karo."

Ammy & Heena-"Par..."

Padma-"Par var kuch nahin. Mera order hai"

Heena-"But Ma'am, mujhe toh pata bhi nahin yeh Club Diva kahan hai. Main toh abhi abhi Mumbai aayi hoon"

Naina-"Toh kya hua, Armaan Bhaiya aapko pick up kar leinge"

Ammy suprised-"Kya"

Padma smiling-"Aur nahin toh kya. Itna toh yeh kar hi sakta apne colleague ke liye. Kyun?"

Ammy beaten-"Jaise aap sabki marzi." Murmuring "Aurauton se baaton mein jeet hi nahin sakta main"

Heena-"Well ok, if you all insist so much,. Sorry once again Dr.Mallick, meri wajah se aapko aur pareshaani hogi. Aap mujhe apna cell # de dein. Main apne iPhone mein save kar leti hoon"

As Armaan gave his cell number, all the interns exchanged looks. Padma smiled hoping that soon Armaan would atleast get a good friend if not a companion.

Coming up: sizzling saturday night with the heat being increased due to Riddhima's envy.

Part 7

Saturday 5:45 pm, Ammy's Place:
Ammy getting dressed to go to the club. He decided on wearing dark blue classy jeans, a white sleeveless zippered top with a hoodie. After shaving, Ammy had a hard time deciding which aftershave to use. It took him practically 5 whole minutes to decide, and use his 'Ralph Lauren' aftershave.

As he gelled his hair, his cell rang. It was not a number he recognized, however once he took the call, the voice was one that he could easily identify. It was the same Koyal bird voice that he had gotten used to hearing these past few days.

Heena-"Hello Dr.Mallick, are you on the way?"

Ammy lying, as he didn't want Heena to know he was still getting ready-"Ah, of course Dr.Heena. I'll be at your place shortly"

Heena knowing that he was lying-"Really, and how would that be? Bina address ke kahaan jaoge Dr.Mallick. You're such a liar. If you need to lie, lie smartly for God's sake!"

Ammy embarrassed that Heena so easily caught his lie-"Well I just started my car uhm.. achha kaho address kya hai"

Heena laughing at his quick admission of liying, laughed as she gave her address.

Heena cheekily-"Hope you don't get lost on your way."

Ammy annoyed-"Very funny, I won't be. I'm not the new doctor on Mumbai blocks you know"

Heena sensing he was getting irritated by her teasing-"Haha, ok then. Go get ready first! Bye" and she hung up.

Ammy thinking 'wait how did she know I'm not even ready yet. Argh yeh ladkiyain bhi na mujhe pagal rakh kar chhorti hain. Ek taraf yeh imported paheli Heena, doosri taraf naak mein dum karne wali intern Naina, phir Dr.Gabbar er I mean Dr.Keerti, aur in sab ke upar Padma aunty. Argh ek bechara ladka kare bhi toh kya!'

Heena's Place 6:30pm

Heena was giving her 'Saanjh' prayers. She was carrying the deep and agarbatti in her hands, and just as she opened her front entrance, Ammy came. He was actually about to ring her doorbell, but she had opened it right at that instant to give Saanjh prayers.

They were both suprised. None had anticipated that they would come face to face the way they did.
Heena-"Uh.. Dr.Mallick uhm... please come in I guess. I was just finishing my evening prayers. Give me two minutes to wrap up."

Ammy still a little suprised-"Sure Dr.Heena"

As Heena left towards her puja room, Ammy smiled once more at Heena's character seeing her dressed in a modern 'sauce wala color' dress giving evening prayers 'She's seriously a living paradox, hmm why don't I tease her a little, afterall she teased me too.MUHAHAHAHA' Thinking this, a devilish smile played on his lips, a smile that had been considered long lost.

Heena on the other hand was tensed, as it was the 1st time in her life a guy unrelated to her was in her house. It was not like she didn't trust Dr.Armaan, but it was just she felt her traditions and principles were shook with him being present at her house. And to top it off, she had to play host, having to detain him a little more, atleast out of courtesy asking if he wanted something to drink. She was mad at herself-'Arghh maine pehle hi Saanjh ki puja kyon nahin ki'

She went to wear matching red high heeled sandals that would compliment her red 'Vera Wang' cocktail dress. After throwing a fleeting glance at herself, ensuring her white cubic zircona necklace looked good with its matching dangling earrings; she picked up her red 'Louis Vuitton' clutch purse, and went to greet Dr.Mallick who waiting for her in the living room.

As Heena came out, she greeted Ammy, a little nervously-"Well, I hope you didn't have to wait long. You know I have to give evening prayers and all"

Ammy grinning-"Well, Dr.Heena, I thought you got scared or nervous seeing me. And that's why you went to hide. I figure it's your 1st date and all"

Heena sensing he was giving back for teasing him, spoke with confidence and sarcasm trying to undermine Ammy-"Very funny Dr.Mallick, now tell me, would you like some coffee to drink and spend the whole time here when Dr.Yuvraj is waiting for us, or shall we get going?"

Ammy grinned figuring his target hit the right spot-"Bullseye! er I mean, yes let's go" Heena picked up the bouquet that she bought for Yuvi, and followed Ammy.

Club Diva 7:15pm:

All the interns are along with Riddhima. Riddhima is trying to look cheerful.
Naina-"Riddhima didi, aapki yeh majenta dress bahut achhi hai."

Riddhima-"Haan yeh Siddhant ne liya tha. Woh chahta tha ki main issay pehnu"

Yuvi going towards Naina-"Abhi tak Dr.Armaan aur Dr.Heena nahin aaye. Zaara Dr.Armaan ko phone lagana toh Naina. Kahaan hain dono. Unhein saath saath aana tha na"

Riddhima hearing this feels crushed. Unn dono ko saath saath aana tha? Then she remembers Heena's words ' I don't go back on my words. It looks bad if he comes searching and doesn't find me' Riddhima's heart again questions- 'Why didn't you wait Riddhima? He promised you he'd always be there for you. Even now if you called for him, he'd risk his life for you. Or would he now? If you moved on, doesn't he have a right to move on as well?'

Breaking Riddhima's train of thoughts was the appearance of Armaan walking with Heena on his side. Riddhima's mind reasoned with her heart-'Yes he has every right to move on, and perhaps he has already started. Look at Heena, all of Sanjeevani including your own father is in awe of her knowledge, her work, her beauty, her charisma, and her behaviour. Why wouldn't a guy go for her? Even your own husband tries his best to impress her for God's sake.

Heena addressing Riddhima-"Hello Dr.Modi"

Riddhima forcing a smile-"Hi Dr.Heena"

Heena-"Hmm, you don't seem to look too well? Are you feeling alright" Ammy hears this and gives a quick look at Riddhima 'Yeah she doesn't look well. What's wrong with her. Should I ask? No, I can't. Not after what Siddhant has accussed me of. It's better to keep distance, so that her marriage stays intact.'

JP along with Siddhant came with the cake-"Chalo ab sabhi aa gaye hain. Bade Bhaiya cake kaato"

Suvarna whispering to Naina-"Hmm Armaan and Heena do sizzle together no?"

Yuvi as he passes them-"I think so as well."

As the cake was cut, Yuvi fed Naina, Sid took his cake piece and fed Riddhima purposefully in front of Armaan. Heena on the other hand didn't want Armaan to feed her. It was already so stressful for her. She was the typical conservative Indian girl at heart. Today already so much had happened to her for the first time: Having a guy at her house to pick her up it was practically a semi-date like situation, going to a club, and now all of this. She knew she had to stay clear of all this, or else her nervousness would get the better of her. Armaan felt upset seeing Sid feeding Riddhima. He too wanted some time to compose himself, and decided to sit down. If it wasn't a social setting he would have left, but keeping in mind that he was at a party, he decided to find a quiet spot to sit.

After a while Yuvi looking for Armaan-"Dr.Armaan yahaan akele kya kar rahein hain. Please kya aap Dr.Heena company de sakte hain? Hum sabhi dance floor par hain, aur JP ko unse darr hi lagta hai isliye woh unke paas bhi nahin phatak raha"

Ammy smiling at JP's fear-"Theek hai tum chalo, Main aata hoon."

Yuvi assurred by Armaan, left to catch up with Naina at the dance floor.

Heena was sitting herself, sipping a virgin pina colada watching her interns have a good time dancing. she smiled to herself 'Kitne befikr hain yeh sab. Meri zindagi mein toh yeh waqt kabhi aaya hi nahin.' She opened her purse to look at a picture-'Kash woh sab na hota, toh aaj main itni akeli nahin hoti.'

"Feeling homesick Dr.Heena?" Ammy asked as he approached her.

Heena pulling herself together-"Ah no Dr.Mallick, I have Overseas Citizenship of India you know. So technically India is just as much home as North America is for me" She drifted once again in her thought-' Home what home, ghar toh logon se banta hai Heena. Tere paas toh bas ek makaan hai'

Ammy figuring she was lost in her thoughts-"Earth to Dr.Heena, are you there??"

Heena smiled at Ammy repeating her line-"You know woh meri line hai"

Ammy smiling back-"Maine toh koi copyright nahin dekhi, By the way, I can sit next to you right? After all, technically I am your date tonite" Saying this, he winked at her with a little mischievious smile. He knew for someone so traditional as her, it would irk her to no end!

Heena was definately irked, but she knew Ammy was teasing her, and she couldn't show her irritation or else he'd continue even more-"Why of course Dr.Mallick, I'm suprised you even needed to ask to confirm this! Do seat yourself"

'Bullseye'-Ammy thought as he sat down.

Ammy-"So I saw you leaving with Padma Aunty, how come? Dr.Shashank ko maska laga rahi hain aap abhi se?"

Heena-"Makkhan lagana aap karke honge. Padma Ma'am meri maddad kar rahi thien. You know getting household stuff and all"

Ammy-"Oh I see. Hmm so kaisi lagi aapko Padma Aunty?"

Heena-"Sweet hain. Aur helpful bhi."

There was an awkward silence afterwards between them. Neither knew what to say, both were trying desperately trying to find something to say as the silence was making them uncomfortable.

Heena finally broke the silence-"Oh yeah, you were mentioning Mrs.Talwar's case. What did you want to discuss about it?"

Ammy-"Yes, you were right there is something fishy about her case. All her tests seem normal, yet her RBC (Red Blood Cell) count keeps getting lower with each blood test. So you don't think it has anything to do with muscle pain?"

Heena-"I think we need to do some more tests targetting the abdominal area where she complains of severe pain. I'm afraid that she might be suffering from abdominal cancer."

Ammy-"Are you serious"

Heena a little concerned about her patient-"I wouldn't joke about cancer Dr.Mallick"

As the two senior docs discussed their cases, little did they realize that their interns were keeping an eye on them.
JP to Suvarna-"Yeh log toh hospital se nikal kar bhi hospital ki hi baatein kar rahe hain"

Suvarna-"Humein hi kuch karna hoga. Yeh dono toh bas 24 hrs kaam hi karte rehte hain"

Apart from the interns, there was another pair of eyes that was keenly watching Heena and Armaan from the dance floor. Those eyes in whom Armaan had once thought he had found his reason for living. Ironically today the situations were such that he couldn't even look towards those eyes, forget looking into them.

Suvarna and JP approach Heena and Ammy, and ridicule them for still being caught with hospital affairs.
Suvarna-"Aap dono itne hip & happening place par bhi patients' ke cases discuss kar rahe hain. You're both impossible you know!!!"

Ammy and Heena get a little embarrassed, and don't know what to say to Suvarna's comment.

JP pulling Ammy's hand-"Arrey Armaan Bhaiya, chaliye na dance karne. Kya saara samay yehin par beethe raheinge?"

Suvarna to Heena-"Dr.Heena aap bhi aayiye na"

Heena-"But guys I can't"

Ammy finding the perfect opportunity to tease Heena to get rid of his embarressement in front of the interns, with a devilish grin goes-"Kyon aapko darr lagta mere saath dance karne mein? Kya yeh aapka pehli baar ek ladke ke saath dance karna hai"

Heena got shellshocked at Ammy's comment. Of course she didn't want to dance with him. She never danced with guys. She stayed away from them. But this Dr.Mallick had put her on the spot in front of her interns, and was challenging her. There was no way out. It was a messy situation, but she couldn't lose. So with confidence she replied back-"Well my so called date all this while hadn't asked me to dance, so how could I?"

Ammy grinning that Heena was probably furious, extended his hand towards her-"My apologies. May I have the honor to this dance please". Suvarna and JP exchanged looks, and were happy that their mission was accomplished.

Heena took his hand as he grinned at her. He had begun to really like her zest and no fear attitude along with her sarcasm. On the other side of the dance floor, Riddhima while being with Sid, painfully watched as Ammy led Heena to the dance floor.

Dostana's 'Shut up and Bounce' song was coming to an end. Suvarna had already asked the DJ to play something soft and melodious. Kal ho Na ho's title song 'Kal ho na ho' started to play.

Now even Ammy was embarressed as he didn't expect soft music to be playing right at the instant he would come to the dance floor. But he had no choice, and to top it off he had dragged Heena as well.
