Chapter One (I)
Tuesday Night
A girl is getting ready to go bed when her cell phone rang. She quickly pick up her phone in case it could be emergency at the hospital but turn out to be her colleague. While she is talking to her colleague her father enters her room. "Hey i'll call you back later on" she hung up her phone and looked at her father who seemed disappointed with her.
Girl: Papa is everything alright?
Her father kneel down beside her on the bed and takes her hand in his hand "if i ask you something will you be honest with me Riddhima?"
Riddhima looked at her father with concern...
Ridzy: Of course Papa
Shashank: Um... Riddhima Beta
Riddhima starting to get worried because her father never had trouble speaking to her about whatever he wanted to ask her or tell her.
She interrupts her father "Papa" takes deep breathe "main apnki Riddhima hoon phir why are you having trouble speaking whatever is in your mind?"
Shashank takes deep breathe: Beta is there something you wish to share with your father?
Riddhima gets nervous because her father never asked her these type of question before. Yes, they would have father-daughter moment on special days like father's day or their birthdays. She doesn't know what to say.
"Riddhima" she heard her father calling her. She snaps out of her thoughts and looks directly into her father's eyes "Papa, why are you asking me these questions? Before you never asked me these type of questions?"
Shashank smiled at his innocent daughter "because I wanna ask you something, but before that I want to know what's inside my daughter's heart about marriage and love because I won't be able to bare my daughter's sadness if she had to choose between her love over my desire about your marriage"
Riddhima gets more confused than before "what do you mean? Papa" Shashank touched Riddhima's forehead "nothing" gave her a kiss before leaving her room.
Next day
In the canteen of Sanjeevani...
Riddhima sat alone lost in her thoughts regarding what her father meant yesterday night without noticing Sid enter the canteen and sat opposite her. Sid snapped his fingers in front of her "huh" only thing came out of her mouth.
Sid: Ridzy, what are you thinking that you didn't notice me entering the canteen?
Riddhima looked at him with worried look on her face...
Sid placed his hand on top of her hands "what's bothering my Ridzy? Aren't you gonna tell me?"
Riddhima closed her eyes and blurts out "I think Papa knows about us" Sid's eyes pop out "what are you saying?"
Riddhima gets more tensed than before after witnessing Sid's reaction.
Sid's pager rung and he left without saying anything further leaving Riddhima shattered. Riddhima gets up to leave from the canteen when her other friends come and surround her.
"Hey Ridzy" Atul placed his arms around Riddhima
Riddhima smiled at him "Hi Atul"
Atul settle down beside Riddhima while the rest of their friends grab their seats. Nikki and Muskaan were chatting away with Rahul.
Atul is the only one who notice Riddhima quiet among them.
Atul: Is everything alright Ridzy?
Ridzy: I don't know
Nikki-Muskaan-Rahul stop talking and stare at Riddhima who looked lost in her thoughts and upset as well.
Nikki: Um, Ridzy why do I feel something isn't right.
Riddhima's eyes are getting moist by her friends concern. They have known each other over some months and yet she fails to understand Sid when she knows him from college days.
Muskaan: Ridzy what are you thinking?
Riddhima doesn't reply
Muskaan looks at her husband (with her eyes she tells him to do something) Rahul nods his head and leave.
Rahul goes looking for Sid.
Atul: Ridzy we are friends and you can tell us anything if you trust us.
Ridzy just burst into tears and hugs Atul "I don't know why Sid is acting strange lately and Papa yesterday asked me weird questions regarding if I love someone and" couldn't finish because Muskaan interrupted.
Muskaan: What else did Uncle say?
Riddhima doesn't reply but cries on Atul's shoulder....
Rahul finds Sid in the locker room...
"Hey Dude" Rahul tap Sid's shoulder
Sid: What's sup?
Rahul: Nothing much and you
Sid: Down the hill
Rahul: What's wrong?
Sid: Nothing that I feel like talking about
Rahul: Why?
Sid: Because just don't feel like it.
Rahul: Is it about Riddhima?
Sid: It's my personal matter and I don't feel like talking about it.Preview - Sid over thinking about what Riddhima told him today in the canteen regarding her father knowing about them.
Sid throwing his basket ball aside and pick up his cell phone... without hesitating Sid dials Riddhima's number.
Riddhima's phone shown on her bed ringing while Riddhima is in the kitchen making dinner for herself and her father.
Shashank picks up Riddhima's phone "hello" Sid disconnect.
So what do you think about the first part? When I was writing this part I was having difficult from which angle should I write from... anyways I hope you enjoyed it.
