First of all...my apologies to all my lovely readers for not being able to comment back on your comments. To be honest, the reaction I received on part 27 was tremendous! I cannot believe sometimes how my readers are connecting with my FF...the thoughts and feelings that I see are overwhelming for me sometimes but at the same time it makes me proud to have a bunch like you as my readers 🤗

Coming to the update now, I can see there are some readers who are empathizing with new Nupur, very few thinking Mayank is being selfish on his behalf. It can be true from one angle and I agree. Then there are a very few who are still waiting for Nupur (Laiba...that was for you). Anyways, part 28 may be relatively shorter but is a milestone to this FF. All the cards are on the table now and a decision has to be made. So I hand it over to you now...please when you comment this time let me know what Mayank should do under these circumstances. Put yourself in his shoes and recall the facts he has in hand and the question he is facing now. Let's hear your thoughts... I am so looking forward to them

~~~~~Part 28: Confession and Confusion~~~~~~

Yet another morning in both Mayank and Nupur's life. Nothing is different or special about this morning…the sun has risen in the right direction spreading its rays with all its glory, birds are chirping in their own tune and the world is waking up to its own hustle and bustle. Everything is same except for Nupur for whom this dawn has not brought an end to the night she had with Mayank. Its all so blurry…so confusing. She is standing on the balcony of their bedroom, Mayank is still asleep and as the day begins Nupur gets more and more anxious about what this day is about to bring for them. What happened last night shouldn't have happened but it did…then again it didn't actually happen to her! It wasn't 'her' in his eyes. In fact its never been 'her'…its always been Nupur and it will always be Nupur…no one else. Then the question is ..where does she stand in his life? just a shoulder to cry on? a lifeless creature who doesn't have any feelings? Who is she? Does he even know that she exists in his life? While Nupur is battling with her thoughts and questions in her mind Mayank wakes up with a headache. As he sits up, he notices that he is in the bed! "What the Hell…" he says to himself .."main yahan per kya kar raha hoon" and then he starts recalling the events of last night. The club, the party, Riya..the drinks and then the night with Nupur. "Oh shit!!.." he jumps out of the bed and starts looking for Nupur. He sees her at the balcony staring at the sky…he wants to call her but hesitates. What is he going to say to her? He made the gravest mistake and the guilt feeling is growing inside him gradually. He goes to the bathroom instead to buy some time to gather his thoughts and when he comes back, he sees Nupur tidying up the bed.

M: (with hesitance) Nupur…
N: (Doesn't respond)
M: woh main…(pauses for a while) tum sunn rahi ho na?
N: (completes tidying up the bed and moves to the other part of the room to do some more chores)
M: (gets impatient, walks to her and grabs her by her shoulders) bas!! bandh karo yeh sab aur meri baat suno Nupur!
N: (looks into his eyes but doesn't say anything)
M: (looks away as he feels embarrassed) kal raat ko jo hua..woh nahi hona chahiye tha. I am sorry…very very sorry
N: kya! kis baat ke liye sorry Mayank ji?
M: tum jaanti ho. kal raat ko main hosh me nahi tha..aur na jaane kya kya hogaya..main bohat sharminda hoon
N: wah! kya baat hai…kal aap ne sharab piya aur phir uss Riya k saath….tche! per uss baat ki sharmindagi nahi aapko. aapko afsos horaha hai iss baat ka k aap ne humain…apne biwi ko behoshi me…ghalti se chooN liya??
M: tum yeh sab kya keh rahi ho. main nashe me tha to..
N: to kya Mayank ji? aap ne shaadi k baad pehlibaar humain chhooaN hai… to afsos ho raha hai? woh Riya jisske saath aap ka koi rishta nahi usske choonay per to afsos nahi horaha aapko? kya main itni gayi guzri hoon? boliye..(she is furious) And for your kind information, aisa kuch nahi hua hai jisske liye aap itna pareshaan ho rahe hai. aap ka jism aur aap ka dil dono abhi tak Nupur ke mohabbat se abaad hai, usse koi daagh nahi laga.
M: tum yeh sab kya bakkay jaa rahe ho. main samajh sakta hoon kal jo bhi hua hai.. woh nahi hona chahiye tha per ..
N: kyun nahi hona chahiye tha? kyun?? main insaan nahi hoon? mere koi jazbaat nahi hai?
M: tum kehna kya chahti ho?
N: nahi pata hum kya kehna chahte hain! dimagh kaam nahi kar raha aur humain yeh bhi nahi pata k hum aisa kyun soch rahe hai? yeh ghalat hai…yeh sab kuch ghalat hai..
M: (shakes her by her shoulders) kya hogaya hai tumhe…yeh sab kya hai?
N: (frees herself from Mayank and with a sudden outburst says it) Mohabbat hai Mayank ji…yeh sab mohabbat hai!
M: (silent…in shock)
N: haan yeh sach hai…humain nahi pata ke kab aur kaise yeh jazbaat hamare dil me paida hue aur hamare dhadkanon me palnay lagey! hum to bas yeh jaante hai k jab humnain shaadi ki thee to yeh sirf ek samjhota tha..aap ne apne dil se, apne mohabbat se samjhota ki aur humnain apne bachi kuchi zindagi se. uss din se lekar aaj tak humnain ek dost ki tarha hamesha aap ka saath nibhaya taaki aapki jazbon ko hamare wajah se dhais na pohunche koi. humnain aapse vaada kiya tha aur woh vaada hum aaj tak nibha bhi rahe hai per ab hum thak gaye hai Mayank ji..ek aam sa insaan hai hum… khwahishe hai dil me, umeedein bhi hai zindagi se k koi humsafar ho jisska haath thame poori zindagi chal sake hum. ek hasta khelta ghar ho…kal jo sapna maa ki aankhon me dekha hai woh sapna hamare aankhon me bhi hai. farq bas itna hai k maa nahi jaanti k hamare woh sapne kabhi poore nahi honge. hamari zindagi ek dikhawa hai bas.… aur khud hum ek adhure insaan. yehi hai hamari zindagi ka aakhri sach jissme na koi khushi hai aur na hi khushi ka koi imkaan (she breaks into tears). per isska humain koi gham nahi...bas dukh to iss baat ka hai k hum kabhi bhi aapko paanay ki tamanna bhi nahi kar sakte. Mayank ji…hum aapke liye poori duniya se lar sakte hai per ek saaye se nahi lar sakte. aap ke jazbon ki hifazat ke liye hum sab se jhoot bol sakte hai per khud se aur ab aap se sach nahi chupaya jaata humse. humain aap se kuch nahi chahiye…per Khuda k liye hamare zaat ko apne yaadon se daffan mat kijiye…rehem khayye hum per…..rehem khayye...(she bends down to Mayank's knees weeping)

Mayank is standing there like a statue! He's overwhelmed by this revelation and is lost for words. Finding no way on how to react to this fact, he leaves the room.

After this day, both Mayank and Nupur are not in talking terms. Nupur has knowingly or unknowingly opened up all her emotions that has bottled up for God knows how long and now has nothing further to say to revert it back or to move it forward. The ball is in Mayank's court now. Mayank, on the other hand, has never been more confused in his life as if he didn't have enough on his plate! There are thoughts running in his mind like the blood flowing through his veins. Did Nupur just confess about her feelings to him? When did she start feeling like that? Why didn't he notice this all this time? Was he so blind in his long lost love that he didn't even consider that it is a possibility? This is a wake-up call for Mayank but unfortunately he doesn't have any answer for her. There is no doubt that she is a good friend, in fact his best friend, a helpful soul and above all has been keeping her promise in not exercising her rights over him. How strange can it be that she has not, in the past few months, ever questioned Mayank's decision and neither demanded anything of him as a wife. In fact she has been more than a friend for him. Because of her, his life has been saved from going to a living hell to something where he can live with contentment. But what did he give Nupur in return? He was so very sunk in his own world that he completely ignored her feelings! Never asked or even thought how her life is going with him? She has been married off to a stranger and since day one, he has been nothing but a pain in her life. There are so many times he has hurt her feelings by his rudeness and unkindness. His inconsiderate and insensitive behaviour have, in so many occasions, hurt her dignity and self respect and not once he looked back to console her and neither did she complain about it but accepted it all with a smile. Even this beautiful friendship that they have developed recently is only one sided! He is draining on her energy and craving for the support which she is constantly providing, not only just by being there, but also actively supporting him through her words and understanding. And in return, she never asked for anything but in the process of helping him she may have developed the same feelings for him as he has for his Nupur. Is it her fault? No! But what can he do about it?

One of these days, at the cafeteria, when Mayank is lost in his thoughts…trying to decide what to do he sees Samrat and Diya who join him at the table. Mayank tells them about everything…how he could never forget Nupur and the compromises they made to sustain this marriage and then the confession from Nupur…he tells them everything in detail to them so that they can advise him on what is the right thing to do:

S: hmm..dude to tumne kuch faisla kiya?
M: nahi Samrat.. main to bas itna jaanta hoon k main usse apna nahi sakta…yeh to dhoka hai! dil me kisi aur ki yaad leke aap kisi aur se rishta kaise bana sakte ho? yeh na-mumkin hai
D: rishta to bohat pehle hi bann chuka Mayank. jab tumne usse shaadi ki to duniya ki nazron me tum dono ka ek rashta jura. jab tum dono ne milke samjhote per iss rishte ko chalane ka faisla kiya, tab bhi ek rishta bana. woh rishta phir dosti me badla aur ab woh dosti shayed tumse kuch aur bhi maang rahi hai jo usska haq hai
S: main bhi Diya se sehmet hoon Mayank. Nupur ne hamesha tumhara saath nibhaya, tumhare jazbon ko samjha aur khud apne dil se samjhota karti rahi. ab tumhari baari hain…usski jazbaat ko samjho, usska saath do. baaqi raha dhoke ki baat? apni patni ko usska haq dene ka matlab yeh to nahi k Nupur ko tum bhool hi jaao ya phir usski yaadon ko apne dil se mita do. jis tarha se tum aaj tak Nupur se apna mohabbat nibhate aaye ho ussi tarha usse nibhate jao magar kisiki dil ko taqleef pohuncha ker nahi. isse na tumhare dil ko sukoon milega aur na Nupur ki yaadon ko rahaat. aur Nupur se to koi baat chupi nahi hai. woh to tumhe ussi halat me bhi apna rahi hai to phir kiske saath kahan per dhoka hua Mayank?
M: mujhe kuch samajh nahi aaraha Samrat. shayed tum sahi keh rahe ho phir bhi…kahin pe kuch ghalat hai
D: kuch ghalat nahi hai Mayank. tum apni patni ko shayed apne dil me woh jagah na dey paao jo Nupur ki hai per apni zindagi ka hissa to usse bana sakte ho na? And then let life take its own turn…
M: hmmm…

Mayank leaves as he starts walking towards home, he is constantly thinking about the conversation he had with Sam and Diya. He needs to do something…they have both been avoiding each other for the past few days since that incident. Mayank knows that Nupur is waiting for an answer and his silence may be hurting her more than he can imagine.

Nupur is also feeling lost and confused…sometimes guilty that she confessed and sometimes hopeful that Mayank will say something to clear the air. But days pass by and Mayank remains quiet as she loses all hopes..not only of losing the only love of her life but also her best friend. She holds Nupur's photo frame and says..

N: humnain kabhi tumhe haarne nahi diya aur na kabhi denge per shayed hum khud hi khud se haar gaye hai ab *sigh*

As she is staring at Nupur's photo, she doesn't notice Mayank standing right behind her.

Anyways about ur question... hmmm...

as i absolutelyy LOve & Miss My Nupu i would suggest that mayank says No to Nupur 2... And he lives the rest of his life with the memories of His life, his love Nupur... And maybe someday destiny will make them come together again....

I don't care abt Nupur 2 I just want MY Nupur backkk...😭😒

I agree 101% with mayank.... I know she loves him alot, and he looks at her as a friend a good friend. But back to earth Mayank was, is, and will always be in love with Nupur (HIS Nupur) he will Never be able to forget her and move on because ussne nupur se jee jaan se pyaar kiya hai... Woh usse ek pal ke liye bhi nahi bhula paya to woh Nupur 2 ko zindagi baar kaise khush rakh paye ga?

I mean it's one-sided love aur agar samrat-Diya ki baat maan lo or ek samjhota kar lo... aur woh Nupur ko haan keh deiy... Lekin... woh uss ke saath na insaafi kar raha hai... Woh zindagi bhar intezar kare ghi usske ke pyaar ke liye aur woh usse kabhi bhi usse pyaar nahi kar payega apni dil mein jagah nahi de paye ga to woh usse chor de... (I know im harsh but still) Kya Nupur 2 ko jeene ka khush rehne ka haq nahi hai?? Agar woh Mayank ke paas rehti hai to woh khush kabhi nahi reh payi ghi kyunke woh usske pyaar ke liye tarastee rahey ghi aur mayank usse kabi woh pyaar nahi de paye gha..

So I agree with Mayankk... Sam-Dia are wrong agar woh usse haan keh deta hai to woh usske saath ghalat kar raha hai na insaafi kar raha hai..👎🏼

1. Nupur 2: Kyunke usse kabhi woh pyaar aur ehsas nahi mile gha jisski woh haq daar hai... mayank kitni bhi koshish kar le woh usse apni dil me jagah kabhi nahi de paye ga... Kyunke sacha pyar sirf ek baar hota hai... so her life will be ruined by this decision

2. Mayank... Woh apni zindagi jee le gay dukh mein yah gham mein Nupur ( His Nupur) ki yadoon aur biatye huye harr pal ke sdaath... Lekin usske dil par hamesha ek bhoj huye ga ke ussne Nupur 2 ki zindagi kharab kar diy.. aur yeh bhoj usse jeenay nahi deh ghi

1. NUpur 2: agar woh mayank ki zindagi mein na athi to mayank khushi khushi apni zindagi Nupur 2 ke saath guzar raha hota..

2. Mayank's: Once again agar Nupur nahi mayank ki zindagi mein aathi toh shayad woh Nupur 2 ke saath khushi khsui reh raha hota.. aur Nupur ( His NUpur) ki yadoon mein rooh to nahi hota....

So she'll feel guilty and this gulitiness will not let her live... That because of her 2 lifes got destroyed...

Anyways My answer would be NO... Mayank should say NO to Nupur 2... 😉
