"Armaan ye sab tum kyun kar rahe ho? Doctor ne kahan tha ki rest lo…Laado (his wife) ko pata chalega toh tum kya karogi?" Muskaan said looking at Armaan. Armaan smiled and looked out the window towards his office and Ridhimma, picking up his wedding picture and said, "Main ye sab ussi ke liye kar raha hoon…"

Part 1

Once she was home Ridhimma immediately called Nikki, who reached there in 15 minutes. "Congratulations!!!!" Nikki screamed almost waking up the rest of the sleeping Gupta's. "Shh…mummy…papa…soo rahe hain…" Ridhimma said hugging her best friend. "So…interview kaisa tha? Were you nervous??" Nikki asked trying to lower her volume. "Yeah..the interview was wonderful…par my boss is so HOT…really yaar…i mean total Greek - God…i have no clue how i'll manage to work with him…" Ridhimma said remembering Armaan. "Oye Hoye…Riddhu…got a crush on boss huh??" Nikki asked nudging. "No yaar Nikki…where he is the MD of Mallik Empire's and where i am a mamuli kA PA….you crazy…i mean its so not gonna happen…" Ridhimma said actually heartbroken. "Oh Com'on…have you seen yourself in the mirror? I mean so ugly…shee…shee…." Nikki said very irritated. She would always get upset when Ridhimma underrated herself. "Haww!! i'm ugly??" Ridhimma asked making a baby face. "Nahin…thats what you think…" Nikki said clearing her point. "So…you are Abhi sir's PA…i am Mr. Mallik's PA…they 2 best friends we 2 best friends…its going to be fun…" Ridhimma said beaming. "Oh you bet…" Nikki said smiling. "Acha tell me how is Armaan…i mean Mr. Mallik…you must have worked with him…right?" Ridhimma asked as she sincerely stared at her friend. "Aww…Riddhu…your shoo shweet…" Nikki said pulling her cheeks. "Hey…don't do that…tell na…" Ridhimma pestered Nikki. "Okay baba…well…" And Nikki started describing Armaan's likes and dislikes. And Ridhimma quietly took mental notes. By the time the girls were done talking it was about 11pm. Atul had to literally drag Nikki from the room. "Chalo baba…kal toh milline wale ho…my God…itna chapad chapad…office main kya hoga??" Atul thought to himself. Once Nikki left, Ridhimma prepared to sleep. But before she went to sleep, she stared at the Idol of Krishna and said, "Bhagwanji…thank you…" and soon she was fast asleep.

In another part of town, Armaan just entered his home. "Hey Bahiya!!" Anjili said giving him a hug. "Aaj din kaisa tha?" Anji asked. "Acha tha…nayi PA ko hire kiya…kal se shuru karengi…" Armaan went on. "Achi baat hain bro…aap kA help hoga…" Anji said as she was about to eat an apple. "Anji…hate mat lagana…chalo Armaan…khana kA time hua…" Muskaan screamed from the kitchen. Rahul was coming down the stairs, "Hey Muskaan…chilla kyun rahi ho??" He said a little upset. "Main chillaongi…problem hain?" Saying this Muskaan stared at both Armaan and Anji who quietly nodded their heads saying no. "Unhe kuch problem nahin hain…tumhara kya jata hain?" Muskaan continued turning to face Rahul. "Armaan, Anji…aankhe bandh karo…" Rahul said with a naughty smirk. Both Armaan and Anji giggled and turned their backs towards the couple. In that 2 minutes, Rahul grabbed his unsuspecting wife for a big kiss. He kissed her till she surrendered. When Muskaan married Rahul she knew she had met her match. "Oh com'on guys…get a room…" Anji said giggling. "Agar aap dono kA chumma - chatti ho gayi ho toh hum khana kha le??" Armaan said smiling. Muskaan who was red faced by now, just ran into the kitchen. There was a knock on the door, Abhi had arrived. "Abhi bhaiya…kaise ho?" Anji said. "Main theek hoon…maine kuch miss kiya??" Abhi asked on seeing Anji overexcited. "Nahin yaar…kuch nahin…chalo khana khate hain…" Armaan said as they all sat for dinner. Ammaji, their house servant, who was treated more like a mother, served all of them. The Malliks were done eating in about one hour. Armaan was just about to walk to his room when Ammaji asked, "Laado rani kaisi hain…" and the room came to a stand still. Armaan took a deep breath and smiled at Ammaji, "Woh theek hain…usne phone kiya…woh khush hain…" Armaan said and he turned and disappeared behind the doors.

The rest of the dinner party fell silent. Soon they began leaving one by one. Abhi went up to see Armaan, and found him smoking in his room balcony, with a bottle of whiskey in his hand. "Usse pata chalega ki tu yahan cigarette pi raha hain toh woh tumhe mardalegi…" Abhi said. "Laado ko koi batayega tab na…" Armaan said taking a puff. "Laado nahi…humari Punjab ki sherni…" Abhi said referring to Muskaan. Just then they heard Muskaan's voice outside the door. Both the friends, were terrified. Armaan quickly burnt our the cigarette and Abhi took the bottle and hid it below the bed. Abhi was about to get up and Armaan was about to sit down, but somehow they ended up falling on each other. Muskaan barged into the room and on seeing Armaan on top of Abhi shouted, "Shee…Shee…hay rabba…aap dono kA dostana ho gaya toh main aankhe khol do??" "Kya bhabhi…aap bhi…" Armaan said pushing Abhi off. "Aap ko pata hain…ki main sirf Laado se pyar karta hoon…" "Haan…aur main…main…woh…main chalta hoon…" Abhi said as he tried escaping. "Oye Hoye…sharma raha hain…" Muskaan said as she teased Abhi "Main..chalta hoon…bye Armaan…bye bhabhi…" Abhi said and he ran down the stairs. "Bhaag gaya…"Muskaan said between peels of laughter. She then went to Armaan's drawer and took a few pills out. "Chalo devarji…" she said as she gave Armaan the pills and made him have them. "Hum aap se kal milenge…" Muskaan said as a smiling Armaan bid her goodnight. Armaan looked at the empty bed besides him and sighed, "Goodnight Laado…I love you…"

Next day at 8:45am Armaan entered the office. Everything had changed, everyone was awake. The atmosphere was light and happy. Armaan was in the midst of his thoughts when he heard Ridhimma laugh. She has the most amazing and child like laughter. He knew what had bought about the change in his boring and serious environment. Armaan went to his cabin, and right besides his cabin was the source of all the noise pollution. But at sharp 9am, everyone was back in their cubicle. Ridhimma knocked on Armaan's door and smiled like a regular person would and said, "Good Morning sir". She was already given the run down of Armaan's schedule, 9am coffee - black no sugar. 9:15am files to be processed, 10:30am board meetings, 1pm Lunch, 2:15pm more meetings 3pm coffee again and 4pm to 5pm final catching up. So she was here with his coffee, she kept it on his desk and waited for the next order. She was wearing a red and black chuddidar and looked very pretty, "Ah…Miss. Gupta…woh Mehra industries ke saath meeting…" Armaan started. "Aath baje hain sir…uske baad aapka Mr. Modi ke saath lunch aur uske baad Mallik industries ke board ke saath meeting…" Ridhimma went on like a parrot, she then realized that she actually cut Armaan off so she felt really stupid. "Am so sorry…i shouldn't have spoken when you were speaking…" Ridhimma said looking at her shoes. "It's okay Miss. Gupta…i had actually forgotten about board meeting…thank you for reminding me…i guess you can go now…i'll call you if i need something…" Armaan said smiling at her. Ridhimma found it hard not to stare at him, so she just gave a small smile and went to her cabin. The day went well, Ridhimma made no mistakes and she proved her brother right. That evening at around 3:30 when Armaan was done with his second coffee. He called Ridhimma to his cabin.

"Yes sir?" Ridhimma asked a little apprehensive. "I have one last assignment before you leave…" Armaan said. "What can i do for you?" Ridhimma asked. "You have to clean this table…" Armaan said as he stared at his table, which had always been an eternal mess. "O…Okay…" Ridhimma said finding something fishy. "Okay then…i'll leave you to this…see you tomorrow…" Armaan said almost running out. "SIr…ah…sir…" Ridhimma turned not sure if she heard him. "Yes Miss. Gupta…" Armaan asked. "Ah…how would you know where i keep your stuff??" Ridhimma asked confused. "I'll know…i mean i'll figure it out…" Armaan said "Anything else?" he asked. "Yes…please call me Ridhimma…" Ridhimma said smiling. "Only if you call me Armaan…" Armaan said smiling equally broadly. "I can't call you by your name…its disrespectful…" Ridhimma said trying to prove his point. "Well then its disrespectful for me to call you by your name too…cause no one in this world is worth less respect…" Armaan said. These words rung in Ridhimma's head, over and over again. "Okay…Ridhimma??" Armaan said breaking Ridhimma's mental noise. "Yes sir…i…i mean…Armaan…" Ridhimma said as she smiled back. Armaan then turned his back and walked away. "Arre yaar…ye table hain?? My God…ispe koi kam kaise karta hain?" Ridhimma asked as she started cleaning Armaan's table she found something and said, "Oh My God!!"
