Part 3

After 20 minutes of constant explaining by Natasha, Samrat was still not able to understand her logic.

Sam: I seriosuily don't understand a word you are saying, why don't you want to tell anyone im your brother, I mean im not that bad.

Nat: Bro, its not you, but I just don't want to be known as Samrat's little sister. Do you remember in school, girls used to become my friends just to get close to you. I want to make my own friends and I want them to be friends with me not because I am the little sister of the 'so –called' stud of the college.

Sam: I know. But.. …wait what do you mean 'so called', I am the stud of the college.

Nat: Uffff Byee bro.. im going to unpack. (Heads off upstairs to her room)

Sam: Wait Angel, im still not finished yet (follows her up) Look I understand you want to make friends on your own, but how do you expect me to hide the fact that my sister goes to the same college as me. Also when you enroll into college, by your name everyone will know you are my sister.

Nat: Bro, I have figured all that out already, ive already completed my transfer and enrollment papers, so I am just another girl called Natasha Shergill, and I know you better than yourself Bro, I know you have told all your friends about 'Angel' not 'Natasha' so there you go problem solved.

Sam: But what do you expect me to tell my friends, I have already told them my sister is coming from London, what do I say about that?

Nat: That is why I didn't tell you about this before bro, you can just tell your friends that I have come from London to attend a friend's wedding n I only came to meet you for a day, n that I have left for some other place, you can think of which place you wish to send me to.

Sam: Please Angel, don't make me do this.

Nat: Bro (goes up to samrat, holds his hand and looks him in the eye with her puppy dog eyes) Please bro, I need this, I have to do this, for me, please please please!!

There was no way on earth that samrat could say no to her when she was looking at him like that, and the thing which annoyed him the most was that she very well knew it too.

Sam: (sighing) Fine.

Nat: (hugs him and kisses his cheek) Thanks bro, I love you.

Natasha returns to unpacking and samrat goes to help her. Samrat takes out some prescriptions and some medicines. He reads the prescriptions.

Sam: Angel, the doctor has increased your medication and doses, he has even added some different medicines and you didn't even tell me.

Nat: (gets worried and snatches the prescription out of samrat's hand) Ummm..umm.. n.n..noo bro, nothing like that, i..i ..umm.. just.. its nothing… just with work and stress, the doctor increased the doses.

Sam: Angel, is everything ok, are you hiding something from me?

Nat: No bro, why would you think that.. im telling you its just stress.

Sam: You are sure nah?

Nat: of course bhai. (smiles)

Samrat still wasn't convinced, she never called him bhai unless there was something on her mind, but he knew not to pursue the matter further. After finishing unpacking, he wished his sister good night, kissed her forehead and went off to bed. Samrat lay in his bed and still remembered the day when he heard the most shocking news about his sister.

Flashback

A 4 year old Natasha was playing with her older brother, the 5 year old Samrat. They decided to play hid n seek. Samrat was going to count till 20, while Natasha found a place to hide.

L.S= 19..20.. ready or not Angel here I come.

Samrat looked everywhere for his little sister. After about 10-15 minutes searching, he remembered to check in the store room. He checked ion the store room and found no one, he turned to leave when he saw a figure lying on the floor near an old table, and he approached the person and realized it was his sister who had apparently fainted. Samrat screamed for his parents.

In less than a minute, his mom, dad, n Ramu kaka (the family servant but a part of the family) came rushing in.

Mum: Oh my god, what happened, Natasha are you alright? (Shaking Natasha)

Dad: Samrat how did this happen?

L.S: I don't know dad, we were playing hide n seek n then when I came here angel was like this, she is going to be alright, right dad?

Dad: She is going to be fine, quick lets get her to a doctor.

Everyone left for the hospital. At the hospital, Natasha was admitted and she came back to consciousness. After taking many, many tests, the doctors discovered the problem. Natasha had diabetes. Due to her young age, it was unsuspected and dangerous. She had to take regular insulin and medicines, and also keep a control of her diet. Also she had to make sure she kept herself away from situations she wasn't comfortable in, because any such situation made Natasha's blood sugar levels rapidly change, this was the reason she had fainted in the store room when playing hide n seek.

Samrat was proud of his sister, she never let her illness keep her away from anything she ever wanted to do, she fought it, and she never let anyone know about this illness as well. The only person besides from their family who knew about her illness was Benji. But there was only one thing that had troubled samrat, when the doctor told them about this illness he also mentioned there was no cure.. she had to live on medicines for the rest of her life.

Samrat remembered those times so clearly, that was the last year his family was together as a real family, and the last year before his parents got so busy with their work that they forgot they had 2 kids at home. Reminiscing in old memories and discreetly wiping the tears falling from his eyes samrat quietly drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, samrat got up n got ready for college. After getting ready he headed towards Natasha's room, but only to find it empty. He went downstairs only to find a note on the dining table, the note read:

"Dear bro,

I have already left for college, don't worry I caught a taxi. I knew if I waited for you, you would convince me to go to college with you, but I cant do that, don't forget our talk last night. Ohh and it is your responsibility to let Benji know of our plan also, before he reaches college. By the way, I have made your breakfast already, it is on the kitchen counter, please don't leave without eating, n don't worry about me, I'm fine.

Love

Angel"

Sam: ufff, yeh angel bhi na, chalo I should call Benji before she murders me.

Benji wasn't only samrat's best friend, but Natashas as well. In their childhood, they were the three musketeers. One for all n all for one.. that was seriously their motto

At Excel college.

Uday, Dia, Gunjan and Nupur arrive to college 20 minutes early.

Nup: Dia, why have you dragged us all to college so early today?

Dia: Nupur, you don't know today are the cheerleader tryouts, and I am organizing them. Oh my god, I have so much work to do.

Uday: Di, I was thinking kyun na, I help you with the tryouts, I mean the girls who don't get a spot on the team will need a shoulder to cry on..and guess what di, I have 2 shoulders.

Dia: DODO!! This is not the time to joke around.

Uday: (whispes to gunjan) U know what faviourite sister, I think di na pichle janam mein Hitler thi (gunjan n uday giggle)

Dia: DODO!!!

Gun: Dia, don't worry im sure everything will be fine and if you need any help, we are all here.

Dia: Thanks a lot babes.. ill see all of you later.. bye. (Dia leaves)

Uday: Chalo lets go to the canteen and have something to eat.

Nup: Lekin uday bhaiya, we just had breakfast.

Uday: hehehe.. nupur that was over 20 minutes ago, I think mera next meal ka time ho gaya hai.

Nup + Gun: Uday Bhaiya (laugh)

Then all 3 head off to the canteen.

Dia is carrying all the papers for the tryouts in order, she is in a hurry. A girl from the other side is walking and she is in a hurry as well. They both don't see each other and bump into each other, Dia drops all her papers, and they all get mixed up.

Dia: Ohh SHIT.. cant you see where you are walking.

The other girl turns out to be Natasha.

Nat: Im so sorry, actually im new here and I got lost, so I was in a hurry, im soo sorry, ill help you.

Dia: no THANKS!! I don't need your help, ive got so much on my mind already n now this.. are you blind or something.

Nat: Excuse me, I said im sorry but it was your fault as well.

Dia: MY FAULT?? Nothing in this college is my fault.. do you know who I am, im the dia bhushan… Im the queen in this college… next time (points at Natasha) watch your back… if you ever come in my way again.. ill make your life a living hell in this college.. Understand?

Dia doesn't wait for an answer she just picks up her papers and leaves. Natasha just looks on.. wondering how many mad people attend this college.

Uday, Nupur, gunjan are sitting in the canteen and they get joined by samrat n benji who have just come to college. They all start talking.

Gun: By the way samrat, angel kahan hai? How is she?

Samrat n benji look at each other.

Sam: Actually chashmish, she has come for a friend's wedding, and she left this morning only for Nainital.

Nup: awww that's too bad.. we all wanted to meet her.

Sam: Yah anyways, where are candy n mayank.

Nup: well mayank toh as usual library.. by god yeh ladka bhi na.. books ko kabhi nahin chore ga.

The gang laugh at nupurs angry face.

Uday: Aur di girls ke audition le rahi hai, for their cheerleading squad. Talking of girls, sam, I need some help, there is this girl, and she has agreed to go out on a date with me, but kuch samaj nahi aa raha.

Benji : (laughs) samaj toh mere bhi nahin aa raha who tere saath bahar jaane ke liye kaun tayaar ho gayi?

Uday: For your information Benji, last week I had 4 dates.

Sam: haan.. and he forgot to go on one of them. (everyone laughs)

Uday: haan who actually who ladki mujhe pasand nahin thi, otherwise I would have gone, its not like I fell asleep and forgot to set the alarm, so I slept through my date.

Everyone looks at uday.

Uday: It wasn't like that, I just didn't like the girl. Anyways samrat kuch tips please.

Sam: Sure

Samrat, uday n benji start talking amongst themselves. Nupur n gunjan talk to each other.

Library

Mayank as usual is in the library reading up on the material which he knows is going to be taught this week.

Girl: Excuse me, can you please help me, do you know where I can find the book 'Media is propaganda' by J.S Matthews (A.N.: I made up the book).

Mayank looks up to see a non familiar face. It is Natasha.

May: yah of course (he shows her where the book is) how come I have never seen you here before?

Nat: Im new here, I actually just joined today, I have transferred from London. My name is Natasha.

May: Hi, im Mayank.

They shake hands.

Nat: actually since the syllabus is a bit different from London, im trying to get information on the things I haven't covered yet.

May: Umm if you want I can help you.

Nat: Really, that would be great.

And they both get down to studying and at the same time getting to know each other.

Lunch

Samrat, Nupur, Mayank, Gunjan and Benji were sitting together at lunch in the canteen. Nupur was
telling everyone how Uday managed to get himself lunch detention with Shukla.

Nup: And then Shukla Sir saw Uday bhaiya passing the note to Alisha, he was asking her out on a date.. n Shukla sir made Uday bhaiya read it out loud. (laughing) and then the funny thing was Alisha actually wrote a note saying yes and passed it to Shukla.

Everyone burst out laughing.

Nup: So Shukla kept Uday bhaiya n Alisha behind to do some extra work for him. Im sure he is going to give them a LONG lecture as well.

May: Yeh uday bhi nah.. he is definitely your brother (to nupur)

Nup: What is that supposed to mean.. are you trying to say that..

May: ok, ok Im sorry..peace peace.

Nup: (crossing her arms) hmm its ok.

Natasha enters the canteen. She heads towards an empty table when Mayank sees her.

May: Hey Natasha.

Samrat n Benji get a bit surprised by hearing the name. Natasha turns around and sees Mayank
and smiles, she heads towards the table and sees 2 other girls, and 2 guys' backs.

Natasha comes to the table, and Mayank introduces everyone to her.

May: Guys this is Natasha, she is new to this college, she has come here from London. Natasha,
this is Nupur, my girlfriend, Gunjan, Benji and Samrat.

Samrat n Benji turn around and come face to face with Natasha. They looked shocked and whisper
'hi' Natasha gives them a sweet smile and says hello to everyone. Nupur and gunjan invite her to sit down with them, so Natasha does so.
