Suraj First Day at School

Santu Sad

Part 18

Santu comes out of her flashback, looks at the clock and its already 7.30am and Suraj walks into the room eating a chicken drumstick and Santu is feeling sick of the smell 😵

Suraj: Maa, when are you going to come and help me get ready for school?

Santu: Suraj, I'm coming beta, just let Maa finish sorting this out this clothes before Pappa comes. Suraj why are you eating chicken drumstick so early? Are you still hungry?

Santu has started to feel all woozy and the smell is getting to her, Santu looks at Suraj and then holds her stomach 😵

Suraj: Maa, Champakali was putting away yesterday's leftovers in the fridge and I was hungry to eat your yummy chicken, hmmmmmm taking a big bite.

Santu: Ok beta but quickly go and get dressed, we have to leave for your new school in half an hours time, hal, hal, hal!

Suraj: Ji Maa but can you help me get dressed.

Santu: Tickche, you go, I will come.

Santu's head starts to spin and she feels like she is going to throw up. She hears Champakali talking to herself coming towards her room and calls Champakali.

Santu: Champa, can you take Suraj and get him dressed into his school uniform, I have laid it on the bed, I need to put this clothes away, Suraj tum jow Champa ki satt.

Champa: Ji Malkin, Malkin are you ok? You look pale, should I call Malik or Baa?

Santu: Nai Champa, I'm ok, this heat and the smell of the food just got to me. You take Suraj and I will open up a window.

Champa takes Suraj from there who looks unhappy wanting his Maa to get him ready. Santu gets up and walks over to the window to let in fresh air and takes a deep breath feeling alot better. Minutes later DM comes into the room humming to himself.

DM: Santudi, have you seen my file, I left it in my study last night but its now not there? Ey Santudi?

DM sees Santu at the window wondering why she is not answering; Dm walks over to Santu and puts his arm around Santu's shoulders wrapping her up in his arms 😳

Santu: Malik upp, did you call me?

DM: Ha but mere Priya Santudi's mind is elsewhere, kya bhatt heh?

Santu: Kuch nai essey heh.

DM looks at Santu and says

DM: Tere tabiyat tickheh? (Is your health ok?) You look pale? Turn around and let me look at you!

Santu turns round slowly and looks at DM trying to hide the pain she is feeling, she did not want DM to worry as he would not go to work if he knew she is not well. Santu looks at Dm and to distract him she notices that DM's buttons have not properly been done up, she moves closer to DM reaching up, does up his buttons and smiles shaking her head 😉

Santu: Malik, Suraj starts his school today and I was wondering you come with us for this first day at his new school?

DM: Meih ajj nai ahsukti (I can't come today) I have to get to the office to sort out important paperwork and then I have meeting, I will come with you tomorrow, I promise.

DM looks at Santu with his puppy eyes to make Santu smile which he manages. Santu smiles and tells him that the files he is looking for are right on the table as she brought them up last night just in case Suraj decided to draw on them. DM kisses Santu on the head and tells her what would I do without you and that he will be home a bit late today. Santu even more upset tells him to come home as soon as he is finished work and that she will cook his favourite dishes tonight DM happy touches Santu's face affectionately and tells her to take care of herself and leaves the room to go and wish Suraj good luck and give him his blessings for the day.

Santu is in the car with Suraj who is excited about school, chatting away like there is no tomorrow, Santu excited for him and also worried as Suraj will be at school the whole day now not just the morning. She was going to miss not having him at home with her following her around needing her to take care of him

Santu: You're going to make lot of new friends and you'll have fun but then you will forget about me.

Suraj: Maa your coming with me?

Santu: Nai beta, school is for little children and I was teasing you, your going to love school and your teacher Mrs Walia is very nice. Make sure you listen to your teacher, behave and be a good boy and show her how your Pappa's son is a good boy and just like his Pappa. Tickcheh?

Suraj nods his head. Santu gives Suraj a hug and wishes him a good day, she watches the children line up, one by one all the lines go in, Suraj follows his classmates into the building but turns round, waves to Santu, Santu walks closers, waves back and blows him a kiss with tears in her eyes, once she wiped her eyes, Suraj had gone, sad Santu turns round and walks back to the car thinking to herself how will her days pass without Suraj, she will not only be waiting for Malik to come home but she will also be waiting for Suraj. In the car, Santu picks up Suraj's teddy and gives it a tight hug 🤗

School - Home time

Its nearly 3pm, Santu has arrived at the school early and sits down on the bench watching the other mothers with their children. The day had been such a long day getting on with the housework without any interruptions as everyone was out, the seconds seemed to last a minute, a minute an hour. The Bells rings brining Santu back to reality, children running and skipping out the door, Santu gets up looking through the crowd for her Suraj, a child calls out Maa and Santu instinctively turns round with a smile on her face, Suraj comes running up to her jumping into her arm and talking non stop, Santu hugs him and kisses him laughing at him not knowing how much she has waited to hear his little voice and his little kiss on her cheeks made all the sorrows of the days separation just wash away in that one second. Santu puts Suraj down and holds on to his hand and as they begin their walk to the car, Santu feels a sudden rush to her head, her head is spinning, everything feels like its going round in a circle, the sun is up burning the sky, screaming laughing children everywhere and all of a sudden Santu loses balance and falls clutching her head, Suraj in horror sees this and screams:-

Suraj: Ma, Ma, Ma, Pappa! 😭

Suddenly a pair of hands come out from nowhere and catches her in time.

DM: SANTU!!!!!

DM catches Santu in his hands, she falls into his arms, a couple of women come rushing to help.

DM: PANI, someone give me water!

A lady comes running with a bottle of water and opens up the lid and pours water into DM's hand, DM sprinkles the water onto Santu's face.

DM: Santudi Akeh Kulo, Akeh Kulo!!! (open your eyes)

Santu: Malik, ahhhhhhhhh!

DM: SANTU! 😲

Shahara the FF rocks would have loved seeing this scene in reel life but atleast we got to see SanRaj visiting Nandini in the school. Hopefully the doctor in hospital says it is good news and their latest addition will be with them in nine months😊😛
