This is the original maneet ff

This is the ff I found similar

Now the similar ff's:

Part 1- has one paragraph copied and rest of the part is modified

Part 2- more than half is copied word for word from original's part 2

Part 3- first 2 paragraphs are copied from maneet ff and rest is modified

This writer had an ff locked before because it was completely copied but this one is not copied much.

I checked through.. yes few paragraphs r copied word to word..

I had no idea abt it

I have a question. Is there anything known as self-plagiarism??? Can I lift off scenes from my own FFs and put them in another FF of mine?
And suppose I've started a show based FF and I abandoned it later. And now I wanna write the same FF with characters from a different show, is it okay?
Can I like copy paste the same story with diff character names?

I am pretty sure it shouldn't matter since it's your own story 😛

😆 I know. Sounds dumb...but was just checking cause a war had broken out earlier on one of the forums and the topic of "SELF-PLAGIARISM" had popped up. They said dat re-cycling and re-using ideas from one show to another (Production House was the same) is also a form of plagiarism. So I wondered if this applied to written works also.

I think if you were a professional writer and were re-using paragraphs from another book/another TV show then it would be a problem. But since this is just Fan Fiction, and most people write it for fun and to explore their creative side, it should be alright. This is my view of it though!

If you are still worried, you could tweak a few words here and there to make it fit better with the show you are writing your FF on :)

Hi muskanp,

We've gone through both the stories and all the FF DT members are being consulted at the moment. Apart from the plagiarism there are some other serious issues as well which need sorting and hopefully we will arrive at a decision soon.

We have closed the threads over here and similarly the concerned DT of the section where the other fan fiction exists at present has also been requested for the plagiarised fan fiction to be locked down for the time being and till the decision is pending.

Please bear with us for now. We hope to clarify everything very soon to all of you.
