^ Asmita, thank you for your honesty. It is fine for the storyline to be the same, and even scenes to be similar if you have credited the orginal story. You are not allowed to copy and paste exact sentences from it. If you have mistakenly done so, please rewrite any such passages in your own words. If you would rather have me close the FF, I can do that as well, but I would like to give you the opportunity to fix the problem first.

she has copied a scene and some dialogues so there is no way of proving it however this should be enough proof.. and besides the scene is the same

p.s that was the same book from where she had copied accidental honeymoon

p.p.s. more than 5+ words in same exact sequence is plagiarism

umm well i have a doubt...

i have used some works from FB and put it in HP forum!

my only reason was to make the forum more active so dat ppl will comment when they seee new topics! though i think i credited most of them i am not sure...! is it allowed? if u credit it? i cant ask d fb person coz i am not on fb! i am not much of a writer so i just post stuff i find interesting..! (but not all of them r from fb..i have made my own posts too ofcourse!:)

i cant believe nanna could do such a thing! i always used to wonder how she could update so quick😆 and used to feel guilty when i couldnt read all her works! hope she apoligises atleast!:)

Personally, I'd say get permission before you post something of another writer. I would hate it if my work was posted on another website (credit or not) if my permission had not been taken in the first place 😊

Turns out my work was posted on another website by someone without my permission. And while the credit was passed on to me, I still felt pretty shitty at the fact that someone was reposting my work elsewhere without my knowledge.

So yeah, definitely try and get permission before you post anything!

Taanu, although Krani's advice is good, it is actually completely okay to post someone else's work in most forums/sections (even without their permission), as long as you are crediting it and not claiming to the be author. However, there are two important points: (1) You cannot alter the work AT ALL, and this includes changing the character names, (2) They do not belong in the FF section at I-F, because the purpose of this section is for people to share their OWN creativity. Even if you do credit the author in your first post, many readers will not pay attention to this, and will just assume that it is written by you since it is in the FF section.
