Im glad u all liked Mayur's first 'official' meet...I see many of u r eager to noe who da guy is who changed Nupur into who she is now...But if ill tell u dat, wats da fun den??😉😆

And about Mayank's immoral act, he's just a curious fellow...😉😛 Besides, it was Nupur Bhushan's diary in question...U dont expect him to leave it just like dat? :D

Thnx again...As promised, here's da next part of Chapter 6...Also, this is not a conventional 'love' love story...Its more of a fun-filled college tale n hw different ppl's lives get intertwined...So u'll hv to wait a lil bit for da 'romance' to actually start... U'll wait na??😃

Chapter 6 (Contd):

Samrat glanced at his watch. It was almost 3 PM...Students were almost beginning to leave the college... He sat on the stairs along with Benji and drummed his fingers impatiently on the book kept on his lap as he looked around for that one guy who would willingly agree to take Nupur Bhushan out on a date... So far, he and Benji had met more than a dozen desperate boys who had assembled near the basket ball court when they had been told that they would get to go out on a dinner date with a beautiful girl... They all gathered happily to compete with each other for that one date – until they found out WHO that girl was!!

One guy had actually screamed out so loud, with fear and panic evident in his eyes, that Samrat had to stuff a finger in his ear to block the shrill sound... Another was ready to take her out if she was the last girl left on Earth and he even asked Samrat if there were any sheep left in the World or not!! Samrat doubled up with laughter yet again as he remembered the pathetic sight of all those guys... What was so wrong with this girl anyway?? Benji, who sat next to him, gave him a curious look, which seemed to say "Have u lost it??" and that seemed to sober him up.

"Dude, it's not gonna happen... Just forget it and let's go home... Im tired of all this running around!" Benji repeated the same sentence that he had been churning out like a tape recorder from the last 5 hrs.

Samrat looked at him dejectedly. Somehow, his optimism was also now on the brink of extinction. He sighed. "I'm beginning to get what you mean!! I mean isn't there one, for heaven's sake, ONE guy in the college who would be brave enough to – "His sentence broke off midway and his eyes lit up with excitement as they followed someone behind Benji. "I think we have found him!!" He smiled broadly at Benji and stood up.

Benji followed his gaze and gasped loudly. "Have you COMPLETELY lost it???? MAYANK SHARMA!!??" He looked at Mayank and then back at Samrat, as if pleading with his eyes to say that what he was imagining was just that – his imagination.

Samrat smirked at him as a confirmation. "No way!! There is no way – I mean, do you even know – Are you – " Benji shook his head vigorously as he tried to put into words the enormous danger involved in what was going on in Samrat's head. Samrat simply pulled him to his feet and literally dragged him as they followed Mayank stealthily.

They peeped from behind a pillar as Mayank made his way to the Biology lab. As soon as he entered the lab they followed suit, Benji whimpering in defeat as Samrat shushed him.

Hiding behind a rack, they could see Mayank setting up a dissection board on the table in front of him. Samrat tapped Benji hard on his head as he exclaimed "Frog dissection? Eww" loudly, attracting Mayank's attention to them. They ducked as soon as Mayank turned his face their way, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion. On finding no one there, he got working again as he pulled out an already-chloroformed and dead frog from the nearest jar and arranged it on the board.

Slowly coming out of their hiding place and feigning sudden interest in the specimens lying around in the shelves nearby, they walked around casually, as if they were unaware of Mayank's presence in the lab. Moving to a table across from him, they sat down as they pretended to read their books when Mayank looked up at the sudden intrusion in his privacy. He narrowed his eyes at the two of them. He went back to dissecting the frog with the scalpel in his hand and looked up just when Benji was looking at Mayank and whispering to Samrat "You go and speak to – ". His words died in his throat as Mayank looked straight into his eyes and stabbed the frog hard with the scalpel, not breaking eye contact.

Benji coughed and spluttered as he got up from the bench and made a dash for the door. Samrat called after him but he didn't stop. He looked back at Mayank, who was still glaring at him the same way as he had the first time they had met in the office. The scalpel was still stabbed hard into the frog and Samrat slowly got to his feet and smiled politely at him. Mayank took out the scalpel slowly from the frog but before he could make another movement, he too made a dash for the door. He only stopped once he was sure he was at a safe distance from that guy, who actually looked homicidal!!

He made his way to the canteen and found Benji sitting in their usual spot. He pulled a chair beside him and sat down. Benji looked up, startled, and then heaved a sigh of relief as he saw it was only Samrat. "See... Now you know why I said what I did... That guy is murderous... I mean he's actually..."

"He's the guy we have been looking for... I am absolutely positive now!" Samrat broke in, calmly as he ordered for a juice.

"WHAT!!?? Even after THAT? You still think - ? Seriously, you need to visit a psychiatrist, to get cured of your suicidal tendencies!!" Benji rolled his eyes as he leaned against his chair.

"Tomorrow, we'll catch him early morning... I'm sure no one can be in that rough a mood early in the morning, right??" He winked as he took a sip of his juice.

Boy. Was he wrong!!

The next morning saw them following Mayank again, this time into the Physics lab. They thanked their stars as they concluded that a sharp object could not hinder their resolute path this time, as they walked in, only to find Mayank plugging in the drilling machine to the socket, as he got to work on a Wooden Electric circuit box. Benji pushed Samrat towards him, wishing him all the luck in the World and disappeared behind the nearest shelf, to watch the fun.

Samrat clutched his lab manual tightly in front of him as he hesitantly walked towards Mayank and cleared his throat loudly when he was about two feet away from him. Drilling machine still on full, Mayank turned in his seat and as Samrat walked even closer, he drilled a hole through his lab manual. Watching the machine drilling through his book with a horrified expression, he backed away swiftly, pulling his book away, as he went back quickly, leaving Mayank behind, before the machine could reach him.

Benji was sitting behind the shelf, clutching his stomach tight, as silent laughter bubbled through him, making his eyes tear up. Samrat gave him a killing look to shut him up and they left the lab hurriedly.

They took refuge in the empty classroom nearby. Peering through the hole in the manual, Benji laughed out again but shut himself up as he saw the look of total frustration on Samrat's face. He became quiet as he waited for Samrat to speak up.

Samrat sat in silence for some time, deep in thought. "The guy is impossible to get through to!! I mean we could pay him, but we don't have any money!! But most importantly, who will bell the ferocious cat??" He finally spoke up.

Benji looked thoughtful for a minute before he finally spoke up. "We need a backer!!"

"A backer?"

"Yes...A backer...that is a person who has money and is stupid!!"

"And that would be - ?" Samrat raised his brow.

"I know just the right person..." Benji smiled, suddenly looking optimistic.

disection of frog, wow, even i remebrered the disection that i have done, uff its a very difficult task........
