Nupur was sitting on a sofa reading one of the many Nicholas Sparks books Gunjan had given her. Her head was literally buried inside A Walk To Remember. She smiled as she read the book and thought of her prince charming.
She thought of Mayank, the guy she had always had a puppy crush on. She had never thought he would save her life and bring her home. It was almost too good to be true.
Just then the wonderful scent of men's deodrant entered the room and Nupur took one deep breath. She looked up, speechless.
There she saw Mayank, standing in a sleeveless black shirt and blue jeans. His hair was gelled. He looked like a Greek God and Nupur couldn't help but stare.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked.
"Oh, nothing," Nupur said quickly, lookng away.
"Listen go change," Mayank sad, checking his cell phone.
"Why?" Nupur asked, bewildered.
"Gunjan got the assignment," Mayank paused. "AND you won yourself and audition with Samrat Shergill!"
"WHAT?" Nupur asked, totally shocked. "WHAT?"
"Yes Nupur," Mayank said calmly. "Gunjan convinced him."
"Wow that's awesome news," Nupur said, jumping up and down.
Mayank looked at her, amused. He had never seen a grl like her, so much at ease with him. She never looked at him as THE MAYANK SHARMA, but just another guy. It was nice, to feel normal and all that, atleast once in a while.
"So where are we celebrating?" Nupur asked eagerly.
"Sizzlers," Mayank said.
"Sizzlers?" Nupur asked, confused.
"The hottest dance club in the whole of Mumbai," Mayank said.
"Dance club?" Nupur asked. "Short clothes...umm."
"Don't worry, you'll look great in them," Mayank said encouragingly. "After all you do have a nice figure."
"Thanks," Nupur said, blushing. "But I don't have any short-clothes."
"Wait a minute," Mayank said.
He went inside his room and was back in a minute with a huge suitcase full of clothes.
"Gunjan's," he said.
"How come?" Nupur asked, uncertainly.
"Well you know she is my adopted sister," Mayank said. "I'll tell you that story later on, you just go and change now."
"Oh okay," Nupur said, taking the bag. She went inside her bedroom.
Mayank sat down at the same sofa Nupur had been sitting. He looked at the book she had been reading and picked it up.
"A Walk To Remember," he said to himself.
He knew it must have been given to her by Gunjan because he had heard her gush about the book all the time. It had always been A walk to remember this and a walk to remember that.
The door of Nupur's room opened and out she came. The sight that met Mayank's eyes simply blew him away. Here was that beautifully innocent girl wearing a short white dress, her hair lying simply on her shoulders, looking angelic more than anything else.
Nupur looked so shy and looked down in embarassement. Colour flushed to her cheeks as she realised he was staring at her so intriguely. He smiled and walked upto her.
"You look beautiful," he said.
"Thank you," she managed to splutter.
Mayank rubbed his thumb on her cheek and her cheeks filled with more colour.
So my presence does make her feel...feel something, thought Mayank.
Nupur felt as if her skin was on fire when his thumb touched her cheek. She moved away and he dropped his hands.
"Oh sorry," he said. "So are you ready Miss. Bhushan?"
"I'm ready when you are Mr. Sharma," Nupur said.
Samrat plopped down on his bed, looking through the list of the models he had finalised. He needed 10 more models only, but there were 200 who were auditioning over the next two days. Feeling totally stressed, he switched on his laptop and went through his mails.
Most of it were from work and this just stressed him out more. Sighing, he shut down his laptop and decided to call his bestfriend Mohit instead.
"Hey Mohit." Samrat said.
"Feeling stressed out dude?" Mohit asked.
"Yeah, 200 auditions and I can only select 10," Samrat said. "Stress is obvious."
"Don't worry buddy," Mohit said. "I have the solution to every problem."
"What is your solution to this Guru Mohit.?" Samrat asked, smiling.
"The Sizzlers," Mohit said.
"The Sizzlers and me? No ways!" Samrat exclaimed.
"Dude go there to lighten your mood and loosen your nerves," Mohit said. "I'm going there too."
"I'm not too sure Mohit," Samrat said. "I mean a dance club and me?"
"Try it dude," Mohit said. "I promise you will have fun."
"Okay Mohit," Samrat said, finally giving in. "I'll be there JUST for you."
"How sweet," Mohit said, keeping the phone.
Gunjan flung her bag in her empty apartment and went into the kitchen. She made herself a cup of hot tea which calmed her nerves. She couldn't believe her luck! Show-stopper at Samrat Shergill's show! The Samrat Shergill's show!!
Oh. My. God., she thought. This cannot be happening.
Not able to believe her luck, she washed her tea cup and went to her bedroom. She took out a black strap-less dress and tried it on.
It fit her petite figure perfectly and she looked fashionable and beautiful. She didn't do anything to her straightened hair as she liked it that way, rather than the usual curls. She took out her cell and texted Mayank:-
Just finished dressing. Leaving for Sizzlers now.

She noticed how he had put N&I close to each other without any space. It was weird 'coz Mayank always made sure there was enough space between him and girls.

Sighing, Gunjan grabbed her handbag and left the house.

I know most of you might be feeling like murdering me considering the fact that I had promised for a dance sequence in this part. It is really late at night and didn't feel like writing the sequence! I promise it will be the next part and that you'll all LOVE it :)
