Previous Part:
Kripa sees a photograph of Angad, her husband, kissing a girl. Kripa doesn't take it lightly. WHen she confronts him he gives an excuse saying the guy in the picture is his deceased twin brother. Kripa is not buying it thought and taunts Angad. What does ANgad do to shut her up? WEll, he gives her another captivating breathtaking kiss.
PART 13
Kripa was too astonished to do anything but stand passively as her husband cut her off. Her eyes closed of their own volition. His hands made their way around her waist and he pulled her towards himself, sealing of any distance that may have remained between them. She put her hands on his shoulders, unsure as to whether they were there to push him away or pull him closer.
Somewhere in Angad's mind registered the fact that he had managed to shut her up. Admirably. Now if only it would register why he was still kissing her, he would be okay. Unfortunately his mind had no intention of cooperating. It was too busy getting drugged by one simple kiss. One simple kiss by one Kripa Sharma.
Kripa Sharma.
That name more than anything else nudged him back. This was so not right. Kripa Sharma was not supposed to drug his mind. Absolutely not. He could drug her mind, but under no circumstances should she be able to even affect his. Yep. That's the way it should have been.
So why wasn't it?
Angad was still trying to figure out the answer to that question when he eased back from her. He was pleased to note that she was none to steady. Regrettably, he wasn't any better. He chose to ignore that.
Kripa looked at him in more than a little befuddlement. She blinked trying to clear her senses. One kiss wasn't supposed to affect someone that bad was it?
Grimly, she reflected that that was probably the reason they were married. Perhaps it was purely physical. God knew they couldn't have a single conversation with each other without it escalating into a full fledged argument.
They both took a step back from each other at the exact same moment. Kripa cleared her throat trying to think of something to say without sounding like an idiot. Then she remembered their latest argument.
The Photograph.
Of course! How could she have forgotten something like that? She smirked at him, unconsciously using the same expression that she had seen him use countless times.
"Don't think I've forgotten about our earlier discussion. I can't be distracted that easily. You're good, but not that good," she said ignoring the little lie at the end. He was more that good enough, but he didn't need to know that. If his head got any bigger, he'd probably be floating. She frowned at the realization that she knew instinctively that he was arrogant.
Meanwhile, Angad bristled at the insinuation that he wasn't "that good." He was great, dammit. How dare she insult him?
"I know you haven't forgotten," he replied stiffly.
"Well, what's the truth?" she asked.
"Our discussion is the truth!"
Kripa's eyes narrowed and her mouth thinned. He was still sticking to his story.
"Fine, I give up!" he said suddenly.
"What?" she asked disoriented at the sudden change.
"It is me in the picture" he replied with defeat, but quickly adding, "but that was when I was in college she was a girlfriend. I had that in the attic and usually Sonia goes up there so she probably saw that and brought it down. She probably thought the girl in the picture was you!"
Kripa looked at him, dumbfounded. Angad smirked.
'There happy you got the truth…." Angad added At least part of it. He thought
"I…I…" she couldn't seem to get past that.
"Yes?" he goaded, silently enjoying her discomfort.
"I would say it's a trick! I still don't believe you!" she announced.
"How so?"
"I don't know! Maybe you are having an affair right now! And that picture was from it!" she said, a little desperately.
"Oh, really?" he asked.
"Yes, when you go out for work you could be going to her for…" she couldn't continue.
"I work from home Kripa darling."
Kripa for the hundredth time that day looked at him dumbfounded.
"Uhhh…maybe you…ummm….darnit"
Angad looked at her; sensing victory was within his grip.
"You see. There is no other explanation."
She looked at him, panic hovering dangerously close. He was either oblivious to her distress or choosing to ignore it, she couldn't decide.
"You, Kripa Khanna, are my wife she was my….past." Angad managed to choke out.
************
Mishty tried to force the feeling of uneasiness that had been plaguing her for the past couple of days out of her mind and focus on the breakfast with her boyfriend.
Josh looked at his girlfriend in undisguised worry. She had been staring off into space more and more often for the past few days. He knew that something was bothering her, but he didn't want to pry. He figured that she would tell him when she was good and ready.
Sadly, she didn't seem inclined to confide her worries to him and he couldn't stand seeing her like that anymore. So he decided to pry.
"Mishty?" he asked gently.
He had to ask three more times before she snapped out of her latest daydream and looked at him. She smiled in apology.
"Sorry, Josh. Been a bit preoccupied lately."
"I noticed," he remarked dryly. "Are you alright?"
She smiled again, although it seemed a little more forced this time.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
He frowned. Whatever it was, it had to be big. He'd never seen Mishty so preoccupied in a long time. Ever since that whole fiasco dealing with Angad. He took her hand.
"You trust me right?" he asked.
She looked surprised at the question. "Of course I trust you."
"Then let me help you."
Mishty shook her head. "It's nothing really. I've just been very busy lately, what with Kripa gone and all."
He didn't look like he believed her.
"That's all. Really. I'm perfectly all right."
Josh nodded, but was still unconvinced. Something was bothering her and she just wasn't ready to let him know what it was yet. He didn't have any choice but to wait, knowing full well how stubborn the she could be.
"Okay. But of you ever want to talk…"
"You'll be the first person I'll come to," she promised.
He nodded once more and turned his attention to his breakfast.
Mishty looked out at the window and silently scolded herself for causing Josh to worry. She was probably overreacting. There was absolutely no reason for her to think that there was something about Kripa that was making her so uneasy. So what if Angad had been the last person she had seen? That didn't mean anything. If anyone could hold their own against Angad, it was Kripa. She was probably worrying for no reason. Kripa was probably getting tanned on some beach right now.
'Or, more likely, she's probably in some overseas library,' Mishty thought wryly.
Still it wouldn't hurt to check up on her, just this once. Kripa had given her an emergency telephone number in case she had to get hold of her. Then she would talk to Kripa and she would she that Kripa was perfectly okay.
With that resolution in mind, Mishty smiled at Josh and turned to her breakfast and dug in with renewed enthusiasm.
Change in plans. Mishty and Josh are going out. Also some of you may have noticed i took the character ANalysis from the first post off becasue i changed almost everything!! I will try and put an updated one soon! As i promised here is a promo and i hope you all enjoy it!!
