'Who is it .... Abhi?' Nikki asked walking towards the door.

And as soon as she saw who it was.... she screamed,

'ARMAANNNNNNNN .......' and ran towards him, passing Abhi by, and flung herself at him, hugging him tightly. Armaan was surprised to see her, and was thrown off balance as soon as she hurled herself at him, but managed to lift her up, as he tightened his hug. Abhi and Ridhima stood there staring at both of them. Abhi was frowning whereas Ridhima's face was devoid of all expressions.

'NIKKIIIIII.......' Armaan exclaimed, 'I missed you so much!' he added sadly and slowly let her down and looked at her. 'But you look different .......' he said with a pre-occupied look on his face as he was trying to figure out what was different about her. And then when he noticed her completely, blood drained out of his face .......

'Oh my god! You too ..... Nikki! You too got married! And are going to have ......a baby?' he exclaimed in shock. Then taking in Abhi's presence ....'You got married to him?' ....... and then back at Nikki ..... 'What's wrong with you, Nikki? You never listen to me, do you?'

'Armaan .... Armaan ...... how are you?' Nikki went on talking without responding to his questions, 'Where were you all this time? Why didn't u come back earlier? Do you know how worried we all have been? Ridhima had the worst time to her life......?'

'Well .... I don't think so .... it doesn't look like that to me .... Apparently she has told me that .... she is very happily married' he looked at Ridhima with a sad accusing expression. Then turning towards Nikki continued in a hurt voice 'to another doctor ...... Siddhant Modi' then his expression changed to surprise as he realized something. 'Ahhhhhh, now I get it ..... Modi ..... there has to be some connection to you Dr. Modi .... isn't it? Why am I not surprised?' he said bitterly.

All this time Abhi was only observing what was going on .... frowning, not uttering a single word.

'Armaan ..... why are you here?' he asked finally in a rude tone.

'To see Ridhima and talk to her.' Armaan replied.

'Why?' Abhi asked, his tone changing from rude to angry one. His eyes spitting fire.

'It is none of your business!' Armaan replied in an equally angry tone. 'Who are you to ask me that?' he asked now moving threateningly towards Abhi. He was ready to push Abhi, but stopped as soon as he heard Abhi's sarcastic voice.

'Well! Well! Well! You will be surprised ..... but Ridhima is family now. She is married to my younger brother. So I have every right to ask!' Abhi dropped the bomb shell.

Armaan froze in shock! He did not know what to say .... he turned his hurt eyes towards Ridhima .... blaming her ..... demanding answers ..... but she just stood there unable to say anything ..... tears rolling down her cheeks.

Nikki was the first one to recover from her shock ..... and she rushed between Armaan and Abhi .... hoping to calm them down ....

'Abhi .......' she looked at Abhi with pleading eyes and then turned towards Armaan, 'Armaan ..... please' she said pushing both of them apart ..... 'guys please listen .... let's go inside and take this calmly' ... and she added softly ....'Please think about Ridhzi ..... she is already very upset!'

And both Armaan and Abhi .... looked away from each other and looked at Ridhzi. They moved away guiltily .....

'Ridhima ..... is it okay?' Abhi asked Ridhima, softness creeping into his voice, 'Are you ok to talk to him?'

He moved away from Armaan, when Ridhzi nodded her head .... and let him enter.

They all went into the hall ...... as Armaan was looking around .... as if searching for something ....

'What .....are you looking for?' Abhi asked a bit irritatedly.

' Sidhant ..... where is he?' Armaan asked.

'Why? I thought you came here to talk to Ridhima. So talk!' Abhi gave back .....

'Abhi ..... can you take me to the room ..... please .... I think I need to lie down .... I am too tired' Nikki tried to distract Abhi and take him away from the hall, so that Ridhima and Armaan could talk to each other in privacy.

'Nikki .... sweetheart ......what happened .... you okay ?' Abhi asked her worriedly, immediately rushing towards her.

'It's nothing to worry about ..... I think the long journey is taking its toll on me ..... I think I need to lie down .... my back is paining .... once I have rested, I think I will be fine.' She told Abhi, placing her small hand on his arm and looked into his eyes lovingly. Immediately, Abhi calmed down, placed his own hand over hers, and lead her into the bedroom .....

Armaan had been observing this whole conversation closely ..... and realizing what was going on ... looked at Ridhima .... and gave a sad smile ....

'Guess I have been wrong about a lot of thing, haven't I? They both love each other, right? You always told me that they did, but I was never ready to believe you, was I? I never gave them a chance, did I? It was good that I disappeared .... it has turned out to be good for so many people' he said sadly.

'Armaan .... please don't say that! You have no idea how much we all have suffered when you suddenly disappeared! ' Ridhzi said sadly, 'But you are right about them, Nikki and Abhimanyu are very happy together... they both love each other like mad. He loves her more than anything in the world and would never let anything happen to her. He will always keep her happy .... do you know Nikki is expecting twins?' Ridhzi asked with a sad smile. 'They both are elated ..... you should have heard them when they found out about it. Nikki had freaked out completely ..... Panicking ..... worrying about how she will manage not just one kid but two of them. And Abhimanyu was so calm .... pacifying her .... assuring her that he will be there for her always .... helping her ... changing the diapers....feeding them ....giving them bath .... cooking .... cleaning ...whatever it takes '

Ridhzi's smile widened as she remembered their conversation ..... when they had called her and Sid to let them know about the happy news ..... and she had heard Nikki screaming at Abhi ......

'Abhi ..... this is all your fault .... oh my God twins .... imagine me carrying 2 of them .... where is the place .... and stop grinning ..... this is all because of you .... you are never satisfied with just once ..... are you? Now look where it has landed me!' she exclaimed.

'Nikki ... sweetheart .... don't worry .... everything will be fine!' Ridhzi heard the laughter in Abhi's voice.

'Dr. Modi .... you just wait .... I am going to kill you for this' Nikki exclaimed. Ridhzi and Sid could hear some rustling noise at the other end. Then there was a sudden silence .... and all they could hear was heavy breathing sound ....

'Guys .... guys ....you there .... Nikki .... are you okay?' Ridhima asked with concern.

'Bhai .... stop making out with Bhabhi .....' Sid teased Abhi as Ridzi nudged him in his stomach. 'Ouch .... Ridhzi , what wrong did I say? That's all he does all the time, anyways, and now we have a proof too!' Sid replied laughing.

'Shut up, Sid!' Abhi thundered in the phone. 'You have a very lousy timing ... do you know that?'

'Nikki ..... what happened? Are you very tired? Do you want something to eat? Here lie down, I will ask Ridhima if she has something to eat in the house' Abhi said with a worried look.

'Jaan .... come here .... I am fine ....and I don't need anything to eat. Just come and sit here next to me.' Nikki told him as she patted the bed next to her indicating Abhi to sit down as she lay down on the bed.

Abhi sat down facing her, holding her small hands in his ......

'Abhi, please listen to me ..... promise me you will trust me on this one ..... you will not get angry at me .... promise me' she asked pleadingly.

Abhi nodded still worried that she was going to tell him something about her health.

'Jaan .... we have to let them be .... we need to let them sort this out among themselves ..... we cannot interfere .... it has to be their decision .....please Abhi understand ..... imagine what Armaan is going thru .... he had just returned after a year .... we still don't know where he was or in what condition he was ..... and why he took so long to come back ..... but he had just come back to find that Ridzi is married to someone else ..... can you imagine yourself in his shoes?' Nikki asked him sadly looking into his beautiful brown eyes, with all the love she had for him, holding his hands tightly, as if she would never let them go.

Abhi stiffened ..... and then his expression changed to that of fear .....

'Nikki .... never say that....again..... you know what all we have gone thru.... and now finally we are together .... I cannot imagine a life without you .... I'd rather not live' he said emotionally, lifting her from the bed, close to his chest, and hugging her tightly. Nikki's hands went around his waist and she also held him tightly. Nikki felt a slight shiver passed thru her body when she thought about separating from him even for a minute.

'I love you .....Jaan. And I also cannot live without you for one second .....' she whispered softly into his ears.

Slowly they both released each other and Abhi's hands moved to cup her face gently. His eyes were full of love as they poured over her as he took in each and every feature of her. Slowly, his thumb moved over her jaw caressingly .......

'Fine .... I will let them be .... only because you say so ..... but Sid....?' he said sadly.

'Abhi ..... I know you cannot see Sid getting hurt ..... but I am sure Ridhzi knows exactly what Sid feels and wants .... so just trust her to take the right decision' Nikki pointed out to him.

'Ok fine, but I am doing this only for Sid and Ridhima ..... you know there is no love lost between Armaan and me, don't you?' Abhi told her mockingly.

'Abhi ..... how can you say that? You know what Armaan means to me. He is the only family I have. And you just go on and on and on ..... about him ..... criticizing him. Chodo mujhe .... I don't want to talk to you, jao ....' she said sulkingly, placing her hands on Abhi's hands which were holding her face, trying to move them away from her.

'Me .... I am the one who is always criticizing him?' he asked angrily, 'Hello ..... are we forgetting something here? Who was the one who was always against me .... when I was trying to woo you?' he exclaimed.

'Woo me? When? I remember clearly, that you were the one, who was always waiting to start the World War III! How come my mind goes blank when I try to think about 'romance' and 'Abhi' together?' she asked now smiling sarcastically at him.

'Accha ..... and what do you think I could do? You and your friends successfully managed to ruin each and every romantic evening I planned for you. I have to curse my luck for falling in love with the most unromantic girl on this earth!' Abhi retorted.

' Hain hain .... I am the one who is to be blamed always .... hai na? Fine, why don't you just leave me and go if I am so bad .....if you think I am so unromantic ...... if you think that it is your bad luck to be stuck with me ...... if you ......' she said sulkingly making a baby face, but Abhi cut her off half way.

'Because .........' Abhi's eyes were now shining with mischief, 'you are the most enchanting ...... ' he swooped his head down and gave her a peck on one corner of her mouth, 'most sexy.........' he gave her another peck on another corner of her mouth teasingly, 'unbelievably delicious ....... ' and covered her lips hungrily with his, before she could say anything further. He knew very well how his kisses affected her. She would just melt in his arms, giving herself completely,. Slowly, as he realised how helpless she was against the onslaught of his mouth, he moved his hand down from her cheeks, caressing her neck, shoulders and then moving down further to ......

He felt good when he heard her moan with satisfaction ....... and slowly lifted his head to look at her eyes which were now filled with desire ......

'Should I go on? .... And give you some more reasons .......' he asked her naughtily.

'Hmmmmmmm......' replied Nikki, and pulled him close to herself once again, and opened her mouth welcoming him eagerly to show her, how much he loved her and desired her. She smiled to herself for she knew Abhi's weakness .... and shameless took advantage of it ....... all the time.

'Basket ...... where is Sidhant?' Armaan asked as soon as Ridhima finished talking about Nikki and Abhi.

'He left!' she said sadly, avoiding to look at Armaan.

'What? Loser ..... just because he found out about your past ..... he left you and disappeared .... that bas.....d!' Armaan exclaimed angrily.

'ARMAAANNNN .... stop it, will you? Don't say such foul things without knowing the complete truth! Why do you always jump to conclusions? Anyway, now tell me why you are here?' she said.

Armaan .... was silenced by her reaction .... the way she jumped to her husband's rescue .....even though she claimed that he had left her.

'Ridhima .... I came to apologize to you .... for leaving you the way I did .... but you know that it was not my fault ..... I would have comeback earlier if I could have ...... and now for barging back into your life ..... expecting everything to be the same as before ..... unable to accept that you would have started a new life ..... moved on ..... started loving someone else ..... Ridhima, please believe me I did not come here today to create trouble .... to mess up your life ..... I always wanted you to be happy .... and today also I want .... whatever you want. Ridhima, Tumhari khushi mein hi meri khushi hain!' he said with tears in his eyes.

Ridhima was also crying .... with tears in her eyes .....she got up .... and got the letter which Sid had written to her ..... and the divorce papers which he had left for her. She walked back to where Armaan was sitting and held them in front of him ......

Armaan surprised, took them from her hand and started reading the letter ...... which Sid had written to Ridhima ..... Armaan was shocked to read that Sid was leaving Ridhima because he knew that her happiness was with Armaan. He also knew that Ridhima would never leave him how much ever she loved Armaan ..... because she was bound by their marriage vows to stay with him .... so that's why he was signing the divorce papers and leaving them for her to sign and submit it in the court. And the last words in the letter were,

'Tumhari khushi mein hi meri khushi hain, Ridhima!'

'Ridhima..........' Armaan said sadly, 'now I can see ...... he loves you a lot, doesn't he?........maybe even more than I do!' realizing the sacrifice Sid was ready to make for Ridhima.

'Armaan ...... you only tell me...... where did I go wrong? What is my fault in all this? It was not my fault that you disappeared! It was not my fault that my Dad forced me to marry Sidhant! It was not my fault that once I married Sid, I wanted to give my marriage a full chance for it to succeed! It was not my fault that I wanted to show him by getting married to him again, how much this marriage meant to me, and I was trying to forget you! It was not my fault that you walked back into my life when things were getting better between Sid and myself and I was beginning to feel something for him! It was not my fault that he was not even ready to listen to me, but decided himself that my happiness lies with you!' Ridhima kept on speaking and crying at the same time.

Armaan went close to her, and gathered her in his arms, and slowly stroked her head,

'Basket .....please don't cry ....everything will be fine ...I promise'

'I don't even know where he is .....he is not even picking up his phone .... he has not come back home for past 4 days.... even Abhimanyu has no clue where he is ..... they have been so worried that they both rushed to India....even though Doctors had advised Nikki not to travel long distances.....what if something happens to her now because of all this .... I will never be able to forgive myself' she continued sobbing and saying.

'Ridhima, one thing at a time ..... Nikki will be fine ... don't worry we will not stress her anymore....and her Dr. Modi is there to take care of her, na?' he said with a smile. 'And we will find Siddhant soon, promise!' he told her, trying to sooth her down .... but his mind already working on how difficult it was going to be to trace Sidhant.

Ridhima and Armaan walked inside the room where Nikki was resting after knocking on the door.

'Nikki, are you feeling better? Can I talk to you for a few minutes before I leave?' Armaan asked.

Nikki looked at Abhi .... with hopeful eyes .... and Abhi just nodded. Abhi walked out of the room without another word, but gave a look of warning to Armaan as he passed him on his way. Ridhzi also followed him out ......

'Armaan .... I am sorry .... I don't know what to say .....' Nikki started with tears gathering in her eyes and trying to get up and sit.

'No Nikki ... you need to rest ..... just keep lying down.' He said moving next to Nikki and sitting down, gently pushing her to lie down.

'So .... congratulations! Not just once, twice but three times!' he said with a smile.

'Why ......?' she asked smiling thru her tears .....

'Well the first one is for your marriage to Dr. Sadu Modi, the other two for the twins ....' he teased her. 'Nikki, I cannot imagine you being a mom ....you are such a kid yourself ..... I pity the kids ....I wonder who will be taking care of whom' he teased her and twitched her nose playfully.

'Armaaaaan .... how dare you? Ofcourse I am not a kid anymore ..... I am married now ..... I can take care of myself ..... my husband .... and my kids! That is when they come .... and you just wait for 5 more months and see .... how well I do it ....and anyways I will also train Abhi by then .... so no one needs to worry .... he will take care of everything .... house, me and the kids ' she said with a mischievously smile .....

'Nikki, you know something, first time in my life I feel really sorry for Dr. Modi ......' Armaan said laughing loudly at Nikki's comment, and both giving a high five to each other.

'Armaan ... I have missed you so much. I am so glad that you are okay .... and you are back.' Nikki said emotionally. 'But about Ridhzi and Sid .......what are you going to do?' she asked him.

'Nikki, don't worry! I told Basket .... that we will find Sidhant first ..... then, to me, her happiness is all that matters ..... her decision will be final .... and I will accept with love whatever she wants to do!' he said sadly. 'I have thought about this for a long time .... when I came back I did not expect this at all ... and so had reacted badly .....but now that the reality has sunk into me .... I know what I need to do.'

Nikki sat up, seeing the pain in his eyes, realized how much he was hurting. She gave him a hug, trying to ease that pain.

'I am so sorry, Armaan, I don't know what to do or say! I have no idea what kind of game fate is playing with the three of you.' Nikki said emotionally.

Outside in the hall, Abhi and Ridhima were sitting silently. Finally Abhi could not stand the silence and asked Ridhima,

'What are you thinking, Ridhima?'

'Abhimanyu' she said softly, 'you know I was wondering why my 'Kismet' is playing games with me like this. I do not know why all this is happening to m. What does my 'kismet' expect from me? First, it brought Armaan into my life. Then when I fell in love with him, it snatched him away from me. Then it brought Sid into my life. I did not love him. But accepted my fate and made a compromise, slowly, started to care for him. But then my fate strikes once again ..... bringing back Armaan and snatching away Sid!' she looked at Abhi with sad eyes and continued, 'All the decisions in my life have been taken by 'kismet'. I no longer know what I should do.'

'You want to know what I think of this whole situation? I think ..... Ridhima, your 'kismet' is giving you this chance to make your own decision .... between Armaan and Sid. You say, until now, you have not taken any decisions, it was always someone else taking those decisions, so now your kismet is giving you this chance, to decide whom you love more, with whom you want to spend the rest of your life?' he paused giving some time to Ridhima to think about what he was saying, then continued, 'Very few people get such an opportunity, so, you should be glad that you have got this chance, and, you do not have to accept your fate as it comes. Your decision now is going to shape your future .... so take your time and be sure of what you want and then go with it with full conviction. Then see, you will have all the happiness in the world.'

Ridhima was surprised with Abhi's analysis. But she realized that he was 100% correct. She had been so emotionally upset, that, she had not thought about the whole situation rationally. But when Abhi put it this way, Ridhima saw some hope, and felt happy. She smiled feebly and said,

'Thanks, Abhimanayu. When you put it that way .... I feel so much better. I feel that I am free to make my own decision .... and I am not going to blame anyone else for it in future .....thanks a lot.' She said with a genuine smile. And that made Abhi feel a bit better too.

After about 5 months .......

Nikki was lying on the bed ..... in the hospital ..... her eyes closed .... looking completely exhausted. Abhi came into the room .... carrying ..... Abhiyaan ..... wrapped in a blue blanket ..... and .....Anushi .....wrapped in a pink blanket. He was carrying each one in the crook of his each arm. And he had the biggest, happiest, proudest smile on his face.

He went next to Nikki and lowered both of them next to Nikki and put them on to the bed. As soon as she felt their warmth next to her .... Nikki stirred from her deep sleep and groaned .....

'oh no not again .... Abhi .... you promised me you will let me sleep ...... it is not even an hour .....they cannot be hungry so soon' she said, turning on her side, hugging both the bundles of joy, and going back to sleep.

Suddenly, she was zapped out of her sleep, as she heard a loud scream. She knew this had to be Anushi ......

'Abhi ..... you promised me .... that you will share all the responsibilities ...... what happened?' she asked sulking, as Abhi was trying to pacify the screaming Anushi.

'Nikki ..... sweetheart .... how much ever I might want to help you ..... there are some things ....that just cannot be done by me ..... come on, baby .... please get up .... sweetheart .....you know how much I love you .... I know you want to sleep .... but .......' he kept on cagouling Nikki so that she would listen to him.

'Ok .... fine ...... fine .... it is always your darling doll ..... you never care about me ..... how tired I am .....' she said sulkily, making faces at him, getting up to feed the baby 'and just look at my darling ..... he is so understanding ... he doesn't even make a sound .... he knows how tired his mom is ..... Is he screaming like this little brat? .... She is ready to bring down the whole hospital ...... who would believe she is only a day old with amount to noise she makes ...... no wonder you love her so much ..... she is just like you ..... has to have her way all the time.'

'Nikki, sweetheart, ..... I love her so much .....only because she is just like you ..... always hungry .... always screaming ...... and most of all she knows how to twist me around her little finger. And you love Abhiyaan so much..... because he is just like me........ completely 'lattu' over his mom .....' he said twitching Nikki's nose, as Nikki pulled out her tongue and making faces at him, and then turning towards Anushi to look at her loving as she settled down to have her feed.

The next time, Nikki woke up, it was to find Armaan holding Anushi in his arms and Sid holding Abhiyaan. Abhi and Ridhzi were observing, both of them, with a smile on their faces..... Armaan and Sid both had this scared look on their faces ....as if they were going to drop the precious bundles of joy anytime now.....

'Guys ..... you look more nervous than how you looked when you did the rectals for the first time ..... relax ..... nothing will happen ..... you need to enjoy the feeling of holding the baby in your hands ... don't worry ....they are my kids ....they are very well behaved' Abhi laughed at both of them.

'Oh my God, Nikki, she is so small .... look at her hands ... her feet .... and her nose .....and look at those big big eyes .... they are just like yours, Nikki!' Armaan exclaimed in awe ...... now going and sitting next to Nikki on a chair.

'Bhai .... when do you think Abhiyaan will be able to play football with me?' Sid asked seriously to Abhi.

'Idiot .... tu kabhi nahi sudharega ..... tujhe kabhi bhi akal nahi ayagi ..... he is just a couple of days....and you want to play football with him. Nikki remember .... never to let Sid baby sit my kids .... he will kill one of them for sure!' Abhi retorted.

'Abhi ......' Nikki exclaimed, 'Why do you scold him all the time? Just leave him alone! Abhi toh woh ......' But she was interrupted by Anushi's scream. But before Nikki or Abhi moved, Ridhzi moved to take Anushi from Armaan's hands and rocked her, then when she stopped crying she kissed her on her forehead.

'Nikki, she is just like you .... so beautiful .... and her hair is also so soft and silky like yours. Abhimanyu ..... you are going to have a tough time keeping all the boys away from her when she grows up!' she said jokingly.

'By the way, congratulations, to both of you!' Abhi said looking at Ridhima and him, 'I am so happy ..... Nikki told me the good news. So now, even you guys, are going to be proud parents soon!' Abhi said with a smile.

Ridhzi blushed feeling shy, and they both repled at the same time 'Thanks' ....... then turning and give each other a lovingly look !!!!!!!
