It was an FABULOUS part.

It was a treat after all the intense and suspenseful parts. This little teasing update was great after the serious ones

Always Angad's little teasing comments will bring a flood of emotion between the two. First, with the pink towel clown and now this.

Aww..there romance was soo cute. Angad will still be handsome when he is old so will Kripa.

BTW: Are you planning to kill them like in Tumhari Amaanat? You better not. I was depressed for days after reading the epilogue of TA 😭

So in unconsciousness Angad figured out everyone's Pechan and their importance in his life. Good to see him take a stand up after Prithvi and Suryabhan used him for their telemarketing business. Sorry I am not partial to Suryabhan after what he did to Kripa

But everyone deserved what they got.

Suryabhan trying to keep Kripa away an Angad close as his son turned out quite the opposite. Angad will now be living in Raniket with his Kripa.

Prithvi who was always eager and ambitious to make money now is not dependent on Angad for his telemarketing business. He's on his own

Rahul who never really had a character between all his brothers helped out his brother whom he used to idolize.

Angad teased Kripa unmercifully. 😆 😆 Kinda reminded me of the morning after the Suhaag Raat in Tumhari Amanaat. Even then Kripa was teased soo much from her 'raja'

Looks like I always connect all your FF's to Tumhari Amanaat 😆

Nishant and Aradhana I guess will make a great couple.

Loved the analogy with the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Make sure to make the pot of gold special and memorable.

I love the way Angad keeps saying 'Mrs. Khanna' It sounds like an endearment itself.

Am I the only one who always comments last? 😆 Will try to comment quicker

Continue Soon
Jannat

thanks Jannat. Like me, looks like you also like TA..thanks. No, i am not planning to kill them here. Even i was depressed for days after writing the epilogue of TA i remember.

Yes, MRs Khanna sounds better than jaan to me in this case as it indirectly is a jab on Kripa who had refused to marry him and then became 'mrs khanna' without marriage when angad was injured...no wonder angad is having a field day teasing her😳
yes, most characters are turning around now. suryabhan has always gotten away easily but now he will realise that gradually everyone is moving away from him. RM already moved out, AK are moving out....let's see if KM and PA also detach themselves from their selfish dad. Gayatri is the only one who has been loyal here....lekin wo ek bhartiya naari hai😕
UR always the first one to reserve a spot but last to comment😆..but i love reading ur comments as they always cheer me up

PART 43: CONCLUSION AND EPILOGUE

I would like to end this year with the last chapter of this story. I wish all my readers a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks for all your support and comments.

ONE AND A HALF YEARS LATER: ON A CRUISE SHIP BOUND TO SINGAPORE

"Welcome aboard Mr.and Mrs. Khanna!" The captain of the ship welcomed the passengers as they embarked the cruise line for a seven day rendezvous on the high seas, "are you both celebrating anything special on our ship?"

"As a matter of fact we are," Angad, with his dark glasses on, dressed in a Hawaiin shirt and solid white board shorts walked in with his camera on one shoulder and his arm around his beautiful wife's shoulders, who looked equally relaxed and charming in a floral red and white halter dress, her arm snugly encircling her husband's waist.

"Wonderful! What are you guys celebrating?" The inquisitive captain took out his writing pad to take notes, "we would love to honor our guests who are here to celebrate a special event in their life."

"Kripa, you want to tell him?" Angad leaned sideways and grinned at his lovely wife.

"We are here to celebrate our honeymoon," she shot a smile at the captain.

"Wow! Newlyweds! Kab huyi aapki shaadi?"

"A year and a half ago," Angad replied, poker faced this time.

The captain was visibly confused, "ah….so you are celebrating a second honeymoon?"

"No…this is our very first honeymoon!" Kripa leaned her head on her husband's strong shoulders.

"Oh," the captain curved his lips and scratched his head, "were you guys living apart after marriage?"

"No…we have been together every second and minute of our lives since we got married." Angad pulled Kripa closer, "and very much in love with each other, so I hope you are not getting any wrong ideas captain."

"Oh," the captain more puzzled than ever, "so, looks like there is a story behind this? It's not that straightforward?"

"Absolutely! Where ever Mr. and Mrs. Khanna are involved, it's never a straightforward story. We have always believed in taking the road not taken."

"Interesting!" The captain raised his eyebrow, "I would love to hear that story….come with me, let's share a drink in my private suite. Would you mind sharing your story with me?"

"Why not?" Kripa chuckled, "jab 11/2 saal intezaar kiya hai, tho kuch pal aur sahi."

"Let's make it quick captain, because we need to celebrate our suhaag raat also." Angad replied as they followed the captain to his private suite.

"Suhaag raat?" The captain turned around, astounded, "so you guys are really newlyweds?"

"Nahin captain, my husband is just kidding," Kripa elbowed Angad, "we had our suhaag raat two years before our wedding."

"Oh..I see!" The captain smiled mischievously, "aha! Premarital suhaag raat?"

"That was not an official suhaag raat captain," Angad complained, "now we are entitled to an official one."

"Please have a seat…what can I pour for you?"

"I will have a Margarita!" Angad nodded his head.

"I will just have a glass of water," Kripa sat down next to Angad. She snuggled close to him as he placed his arm around her possessively.

"So suhaag raat two years before marriage and honeymoon a year and a half after marriage?" The captain settled on a couch across from his guests, "looks like you have been busy doing other things in between?"

"Not really," Angad replied, "well…yeah…sort of."

"So, how was the wedding?"

"We had a wonderful wedding," Kripa circled her hand around Angad's arm, "it was a fairy tale wedding at Angad's ancestral home in Nainital. It was the most beautiful moment of my life," she gazed at Angad longingly.

"I can imagine you both looking your best that night. You make a very good looking couple as it is," the captain admired the handsome couple.

"Yes captain….Kripa was the most gorgeous bride one could have ever seen," Angad kissed her hand, "dressed in a pink lehnga and my mom's antique jewelry, she was my Miss Universe that night…and still is," he winked at her.

"Tum bhi tho kuch kam nahin lag rahe the….your black sherwani had all the other girls swooning over you, but I was the lucky one that night….and I still am."

For a moment they were lost in each other's eyes; the captain as if nonexistent in that room.

"*Cough*Cough* If you guys want, you can check into your cabin now. We can resume this story later," the captain cleared his throat.

"No captain….kahani abhi baaki hai," Angad sipped on his drink, "after all the wedding ceremonies, we were finally declared husband and wife. I couldn't wait to hold my wife in my arms that night. Finally, we were alone in our room. It was beautifully decorated by our sister in laws, Muskaan and Aaliya. Even the most unromantic person would have turned romantic that night in that bridal suite. With tons of hope and desire, I entered the room, hoping to find my bride curled up on the bed coyly with her ghunghat on her face…..but."

"But what happened?" the captain gave him a curious look.

"I started feeling queasy and tired," Kripa became serious, "so had to rush to the bathroom instead of the bed."

"I found her hunched over the sink, throwing up big time! Her wedding lehnga and all her jewelry were a mess," Angad made a sour face, "even the floral and candle scents did not help."

"Eeew," the captain scrunched his nose, "I guess that's life- not always as rosy as we envision it."

"Yeah, you got that right captain. I got worried when I saw her at the sink. I rushed to her but before I could say anything, she passed out into my arms. I carried her carefully to the bed, removed her clothing and jewelry…now don't get any ideas captain….not in that sense. While she moaned and whimpered I cleaned her up, dressed her in a pair of clean clothes and then…"

"Then she was fine? It was probably the exhaustion of the wedding that did her in," the captain conjectured.

"No captain. Angad called the doctor as I was still pretty incoherent. I was pregnant!"

The captain almost spilled his drink, "oh…so you found out that you were pregnant on your wedding night? Wonderful…I am sure you were both excited."

"We were elated!" Angad smiled, "in seventh heaven."

"But you were saying that y-ou had your suhaag raat two years before your wedding? Tho yeh bachcha…..????" The captain paused.

"CAPTAIN! Please don't have any ideas. We had our unofficial suhaag raat two years before our wedding….but that doesn't mean….ehem…ehem…you know what I mean?" Angad sat up and frowned at the captain.

"Sorry…I didn't mean it that way Mr. Khanna. So, I gather your official suhaag raat was spent cleaning up and visiting with the doctor."

"No captain. I felt better after the doctor gave me some injections. Then we also spent that night celebrating our impending parenthood. Being a mother was like a dream come true for me. Ek hi raat mein mujhey jaise saari khushiyan mil gayi ho. Angad and I spent the whole night talking. We talked about our unborn child ….bachche ka naam kya hoga? Ladka hoga ya ladki? Bas inhi baaton mein poori raat nikal gayi," Kripa smiled at Angad, "I am the luckiest woman in this world captain….koi aur pati apni suhaag raat ko sirf apni biwi ki seva mein aise nikaalta hai?"

"You are lucky indeed Mrs. Khanna."

"The next day, after the doctor gave a clearance, we left for our honeymoon," Angad continued, "to Darjeeling…in the mountains."

"Oh…so you did have a honeymoon then?"

"On paper-yes," Angad became serious, "but as soon as we reached Darjeeling, Kripa started having some cramping."

"Oh-Oh….more doctor visits?"

"Yes captain," Kripa became serious, "this time they told me that I was carrying twins."

"Twins? Wow!"

"Yes, twins," Kripa blushed slightly, "but I was put on strict bed rest as there was a danger of me miscarrying them."

"STRICT BED REST? For how long?"

"POORE 8 MAHINE AUR 14 DIN CAPTAIN!" Angad interjected, "strict bed rest for a full 8 months and 14 days."

"Oh…now I understand," the captain shook his head, "so at the end of 8 months and 14 days, I assume you became parents to two cutie pies?"

"Aditi and Rohan….hamari jaan hain dono," Kripa's eyes lit up as she thought about her 9 month old twins, "here are their photos," she took her phone out and proudly displayed pictures of their babies to the captain.

"So cute! Inhein bhi laana tha na ship par," the captain couldn't help admiring how adorable the twins were, "we love having babies on the ship."

"Idea achcha hai Angad. Abhi ship chali nahin hai. Should I ask mummyji to bring them?" Kripa was excited at the thought.

"Captain….you don't know how difficult it has been for me to tear my wife away from our little ones. Please mujh par thoda reham karo….can I have my wife to myself for these next seven days?" Angad pleaded.

"Oh, I understand Mr. Khanna. Mothers have a hard time leaving their children."

"The kids are quite happy with their dadi dada right now. Don't get me wrong, I love Addu and Rohan….they are my lifeline too, but they are little rascals who never leave my wife alone for even a second, or rather she never leaves them," Angad teased Kripa.

"Angad! Tumne mere bachchon ko rascal kaha?" Kripa frowned at him.

"Sorry….rascal tho unka baap hai jo un masoomon ki mom ko kuch din borrow karke laaya hai," Angad touched his ears, pretending to be apologetic.

"So Aditi and Rohan have kept you both very busy?"

"Yes, captain…do you have kids?" Angad asked.

"No, not yet," the captain chuckled.

"Then you should plan on having them soon," Angad winked and then pulled Kripa closer, "because they bring more joy to your life than anything else, and we have 152 kids….we are surrounded by happiness every second of our life."

"152 kids?" The captain's eyes popped out of his head.

"Besides Aditi and Rohan, we have 150 kids at Ashirwaad, an orphanage which we both manage. While I was on bed rest, Angad and my sister took charge of that place. Since then, Angad is like their father figure. He's really good to all my 152 kids," Kripa leaned her head on Angad, "now you know captain, why we have been so busy over the last 1 and years. Angad's parents insisted on us taking a break…the kids are really fond of their grandparents, so I know they are in good hands."

"Be assured that both of you are in good hands for the next seven days," the captain got up, "hope you have a memorable honeymoon. Because I have never met such passionate couple in my life, I would like to upgrade your suite to the premium honeymoon suite, usually reserved for the couple with the most fascinating love story on board. I think you both deserve it more than anyone else….here is the key card."

"Oh, so that's why you were interviewing us?" Angad shook hands with the captain.

"You are a smart man Mr.Khanna!" The captain winked at them and guided them towards their premium suite.

……………………………………………………………………………………………

Angad and Kripa were awestruck by their new dwelling. A large stateroom with a huge window and private balcony overlooking the Arabian Sea, a large king sized bed, Jacuzzi, shower and elegant dcor took their breath away for a few moments.

"So, Mrs. Khanna….do you really think we are really that passionate?" He circled his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.

She whispered teasingly, "I am not sure Mr. Khanna. After having two kids, my memory cells have not been that kind to me. Perhaps, you can refresh my memory."

"That would be my pleasure Mrs. Khanna," he bent down and kissed her tenderly, his fingers crawled gently over her bare shoulders and undid the knot of her halter dress behind her neck "mmm…looks like I am finally getting closer to the end of the rainbow."

Her fingers worked on his shirt buttons, "I think your hard work and patience will yield the biggest pot of gold….or rather honey as you prefer it." Her hands explored the bareness of his chest as they drew closer to each other, his firmness melting with her suppleness.

"Now that you have killed me with your words, slaughtered me with your hotness, slain my soul with your beauty and aroused me like never before, I am ready to be laid to rest Mrs. Khanna," he murmured in her ear, nibbling it gently.

"Laid-yes. Rest-no." She moaned back.

Angad lifted her in his arms and carried her to bed, "now that you have challenged the lion inside me Mrs. Khanna, I will make sure there is no rest involved in this voyage."

"That would be my pleasure Mr. Khanna," Kripa surrendered herself completely to her husband, the man who had given her all the happiness, changed the course of her life and given her, her 'pehchan' as they consumed each other with passion and fervor never experienced before.

As the ship sailed towards it's destination, Mr. and Mrs. Khanna's destination was a bit different- destination-each other! The next seven days were spent drinking the pot of heavenly marital bliss in their premium honeymoon suite; the high seas and warm salty winds adding to the flavor of their spicy, tangy and sweet love story.

EPILOGUE:

HAMARI PEHCHAN KYA HAI?

GAYATRI & SURYABHAN SHARMA:

Hamari sabse badhi pehchan ab hai 'dada-dadi.' Despite all our differences and shortcomings, God has blessed us with the most adorable grandchildren in this world. Kavya is the oldest but the responsible 'big brother' to Muskaan and Rahul's, one year old boy, Rohit, Prithvi and Aaliya's adopted three year old daughter, Aashna and of course our most precious 9 month old Aditi and Rohan.

Suryabhan: Perhaps taking care of my grandchildren, spending time with them, being their 'gang leader' in initiating all pranks at home is my way of giving back to my family what I had deprived them of, for decades- unconditional love. It's through my wife, Gayatri and my son, Angad that I have learnt what true love is- being selfless and giving in a relationship is what holds us all together. Despite my weaknesses, they have forgiven me time and again. I know I don't deserve their forgiveness, but they deserve everything I have to give and that is my unconditional support and love to them.

Gayatri: Being a dadi has given me back much more love than I had ever given to my children. Being there for my children and grandchildren is my mission in life. I also spend a lot of time volunteering at the local women's shelter. Helping these battered and betrayed women has helped grow as a person and taught me that even though I have seen a lot of ups and downs in my life, I am still a privileged and lucky woman that I have a loving family around me. I pride in myself for helping Kripa find her true love and happiness in life. Not all of us get a second chance in life, but by letting Kripa find herself once again has helped me heal my own wounds of the past. Suryabhan has changed a lot; his unwavering dedication to his grandchildren is perhaps his way of redeeming himself of his shortcomings as a father and a husband. Who says we don't learn anything from our children and grandchildren?

KARTIK & MISHTI

Hamari pehchan hai hum, hamara parivaar aur hamara restaurant business. We have moved to our own place now, a mile away from mom and dad's house. This gives us the independence to be ourselves but at the same time we are close enough to our family. Kavya is busy with school now, but still the center of our little universe.

Mishti: thanks to a new experimental treatment, some doctors from London have helped me learn how to walk again. Even though, I am still clumsy and need a cane, I have said good bye to my wheel chair forever. Kavya, Kartik, our business and our family is my life. Kripa and I are good friends now; I no longer see her as a competitor, but a good friend and little sister.

Kartik: I am a content and happy man now. Alcohol and my other weaknesses are all behind me. Kavya ko sahi raasta dikhana ab meri sabse badhi manzil hai. Hope he grows up to be like his chacha, Angad who I have tremendous respect for and to this date credit him for helping me be, who I am today.

PRITHVI & AALIYA:

Hamari pehchan hai hamara rishta aur hamara chota sa parivar. Last year, we adopted a two year girl, Aashna from Ashirwaad. She has changed the meaning of our life forever. As a couple, we have gone through a lot of turbulent times together, but it's Aashna who has been the stabilizing factor in our lives. We still live with mom and dad and are their immediate support systems.

Prithvi: I am a changed man thanks to Aaliya, Kripa and foremost Angad's influence on my life. Our telecom business is not as big as it used to be- it's just perfect for us now. I am the managing director of our company but have adopted a new style of management now- it's based on honesty and merit now. Rahul helped our company from sinking into bankruptcy and I will always be indebted to him for that. My life revolves around my work and my family now. Other women and transient pleasures don't attract me anymore. I am a content man, happy with his life, not interested in feeding my ego anymore, rather being there for people who care about me.

Aaliya: Aashna, Prithvi and my psychiatric practice keep me content and happy now. Being an orphan myself, I am proud to be a mother of a girl who could have been labeled as an orphan all her life. Since Aashna has been with us, Prithvi has not required any of his medications either. I had no idea children can have such healing powers in our lives.

NISHANT & ARADHANA:

Hamari pehchan hai- hamara ek jaisa gham aur hamara akelapan.

Shayad hamara gham humein ek doosre ke kareeb laaya hai. Even though an unorthodox match, we have found comfort and happiness in each other's company. Hopefully, one day, we will take the plunge and tie the knot just like Angad and Kripa have.

RAHUL & MUSKAAN:

Hamari pehchan hai hum do aur hamara ek….soon to be do! We still live in Bangalore but visit Ranikhet and Mumbai frequently. We want our Rohit to know his family and cousins well, so he would grow up to be as close to them as we are….away but still attached to everyone!

ANGAD & KRIPA:

Hamari pehchan hai- hamara pyaar, hamara saath aur hamari pyaari se yeh zindagi.

Aditi, Rohan and our 150 kids from Aashirwaad are our symbols of our dedication and love for each other.

Angad: I am still a famous singer, just like my mother wanted me to be, but I sing and record for myself rather than sing at the tunes of my music producers. My one album a year satiates my appetite as a musician and generates enough sales to run Aashirwaad and take care of my family. When I had moved to India, I had just asked for a little acceptance and 'pehchan,' but thankfully, I have been blessed with a bottomless pot of happiness, love and recognition. I owe it all to one woman- my wife, the love of my life, Kripa. She defied all traditions and boundaries to accept the man she fell in love with. I will always admire her for her courage and love her like no man has ever loved a woman on this planet.

Kripa: Main kya kahoon apni zindagi ke baare mein? Yeh ek chota sa sher likha hai…a dedication to the man who changed me, my life and my pehchan forever…

Main nahin hoon apne wajood mein, mujhe jaaney kis ney chura liya...
Mere saath rehta hai ek shakhs, koi jadoo usne chala diya...
Meri rooh mein Wo samaa gaya,Meri Zindagi Wo ban gaya...
Mujhe jeena usne sikha diya, Main to khud se bhi thi na aashna,
MUJHE MUJHSE USNE MILA DIYA...

….anonymous

Both Angad and Kripa: By the way if you are wondering if we ever went back on another honeymoon after the cruise? No we didn't need to! As Aditi and Rohan grew older, we found ways to convert different corners of Aashirwaad into our 'premium honeymoon suite'- more exotic and romantic than any luxury cruise line could have offered us.

"Hello! Is this Mrs Khanna?"

'Yes, doctor, this is…report aayi kya?"

"Congratulations! Aap phir se maa ban ne waali hain!"

"YES!!!!" Angad jumped five feet in the air as Kripa stood still with her jaw wide open, "from now on, stay away from me Angad!"

"Sorry Mrs. Khanna! That's one command I refuse to obey." He pulled her into his arms and twirled her around with ecstasy.

"Tum kabhie nahin sudhroge Mr. Khanna!" Kripa laughed out aloud.

"You are right Mrs. Khanna….aur main sudharna bhi nahin chaahta!" He bent down to kiss her, rendering her defense less once again.

…………THE END………………

I would like to dedicate this song to my favorite couple before I sign off on this one….

'sau janam' from 'what'syour rashee'

original song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFfA3chiNxY

[Sau janam haan lenge hum,
Tere hi pyaar mein aye sanam] – 2 times
Har ghadi aur har kadam,
Hoo rehna hai saath mein aye sanam,
Yaad aa gayi bhooli hui wo daastaan,
Tum kaun thi, main kaun tha,
Hum the kahan…

Sau janam haan lenge hum,
Tere hi pyaar mein aye sanam,
Har ghadi aur har kadam,
Hoo rehna hai saath mein aye sanam..

Kismat ko bhi hum hara ke mil gaye,
Har doori ko hum mita ke mil gaye,
Wo gum ho ya wo khushi wo,
Wo maut ho zindagi ho,
Hum saath hai saath hai ,
Hum saath hai

Jo khwab soye the saare, jaag uthe,
Beete hue lamhe saare, jaag uthe,
Hoo gunj uthi hai saari vaadi,
Jo dono ne yeh sada di,
Hum saath hai saath hai ,
Hum saath hai…

Sau janam haan lenge hum,
Tere hi pyaar mein aye sanam
Har ghadi aur har kadam,
Hoo rehna hai saath mein aye sanam…
