Hello All,
Here is the fourth part of Tera Mera Saath. Read it and then start pouring your comments. Happy reading.😊
PART - 4: Naina was sitting in an empty classroom poring over some books and notes. The first semester exams were round the corner as well and she wanted to excel in them. It was at this juncture that Huda came to her.
Huda: Busy hai Phoolan?
Naina: (without raising her head from her notes) Yes.
Huda: Tujhse kuch puchna tha?
Naina: Baad me Huda. Abhi tere se bahas karne ka mood nahi hai mera.
Huda: Sun toh le abhi. Sunne me kya jata hai?
Naina knew that the best way to avoid Huda was to listen to his words and then pack him away from there with a promise to give a reply later. "Thik hai. Bol."
Huda: Tu mere saath fresher's ball me chalegi?
Naina looked at him blankly for sometime as if trying to understand what he had said. "Kya?"
Huda: "Maine pucha tu mere saath fresher's ball me chalegi?"
Naina: (simply) Nahi.
She again started going through her books hoping that Huda would go away at her refusal. But this was like hoping against hope. She knew from her experience that what Huda needed now was a solid dressing down and she was trying her level best to avoid it.
Huda: Arey chal na yaar. Aise bhav kyun kha rahi hai? Waise bhi tujhe fresher's ball me jane ke liye mujhse acha partner nahi milega.
Naina went red with anger but controlling herself said in a slightly raised voice, "Tujhe kaise pata ki nahi milega? Tujhse behtar ladke hain duniya me."
Huda: (arrogantly) Honge. Par KMA me nahi hai. Aur agar tu mere saath nahi gayi to tujhe koi aur lekar nahi jayega.
Naina raised her eyebrows a fraction of an inch. "Kyun? Tune bakion ko dhamka rakha hai kya?"
Huda: Aisa hi soch le.
Naina had had enough of Huda and his arrogant behaviour. If she had not promised Rajveer of not fighting with Huda, she would have taught him a lesson here. She shut her books and copies with a snap and stood up facing him.. Her cold and indifferent eyes bored into the arrogant ones of Huda and a shiver ran down his spine. His brain told him to back off when there was still time, but his ego held him back. He had challenged his friends that he would take Naina to the ball. He persisted though not as confident as before.
Naina: Dekh Huda. Mujhse ye jor jabardasti mat kar. Mera para chada to tu niche zamin par hoga.
All the five were looking at Naina with apprehension. All the previous traces of an engrossed student had vanished from her persona. Instead they saw a confident and matured girl standing in front of them who was capable of putting them to shame with one stroke. They were regretting the moment when they had challenged Huda and Huda had accepted it. Only Aalekh stood calm and controlled as ever. However someone else was watching the entire drama unnoticed by them. Rajveer and Shalini were standing near the door watching a drama unfold before their eyes. Shalini had wanted to stop this but Raj held her back. His eyes were fixed on Naina. He wanted to know how far this would go and what Naina would do next.
Huda: Kyun? Maine aisa kya kar diya jo tu mujh par chid rahi hai? Tujhe ball ke liye puchna gunah hai?
Naina: Nahi. Par mere mana karne ke baad zid karma gunah nahi to kam se kam galti to jarur hai.
Her ice cold voice and attitude was too much for Huda. He couldn't react for some time and Naina turned to leave. But he caught her hand. "Kyun nahi jayegi tu mere saath? Tujhe jaana hi hoga. Tu agar mere saath nahi jayegi to kisi ke saath nahi jayegi."
Naina stopped dead. The others were shocked. Naina stared at Huda and then at his hand which were holding her wrist.
Pooja: Huda, tu'''''
Naina: (coldly) Wait Pooja. You keep out of this.
She turned towards Huda who was regretting his hasty act. Her gaze burned into him and his eyes dropped and he let go off her hand.
Naina: This is the last time I'm letting you go. Fir kabhi aisi koshish bhi mat karma, warna meri zubaan nahi haath chalenge. Aur ek baat' mai yamraj ke saath nark ki sair karna pasand karungi par tere jaise badtamiz loafer ke saath swarg bhi nahi jaungi.
Huda: What??? Loafer??? How dare you???
Naina: Don't tell me what I dare and what I don't. You started this entire scene, and now don't you DARE blame me.
Huda: I'm not letting you go so easily Naina. You will have to come with me.
Naina: Don't act rashly Huda. You so called charm will work on other girls but not on me. So don't even try. And keep out of my way..
She turned to leave but this time Huda took her forcibly by her arms and made her face him. "Either you are coming to the ball with me or else you are not coming at all."
Naina couldn't control herself anymore. Her eyes blazed like red hot coals. Without any warning, she kicked him hard on his left leg. Huda felt a sharp pain shoot throughout his body. Writhing in pain, he let her go and tried to control his faltering steps. But Naina, who had lost her patience by now couldn't control herself any longer. She kicked him once more hard in the gut and Huda found himself sprawled on the floor.
"How dare you?" He began and tried to rise but found himself face to face not with Naina''' but with'' Captain Rajveer.
"Is this the way you behave with your friends and batch mates Cadet Huda?" thundered Rajveer. "If Naina doesn't want to go with you then you have no earthly right to force her."
Rajveer glared at him for a few minutes before continuing. "If I see you repeating this sort of behaviour then remember that I'll make sure that you repent for your acts. Now before I lose my temper, just leave this place and wait for me in my office. Dr Shalini, would you please be so kind to give him the pleasure of your company?"
Shalini glared at Huda with disgust and started to lead him away.
Rajveer turned towards Naina. "Are you all right?" he asked.
Naina didn't reply. She was in a trance. Rajveer noticed this and lightly shook her by her shoulders. His touch brought her back to life. She looked up at him. The warmth and concern in his eyes seeped into her and touched her to the core. She smiled at him.
"Are you all right?" Rajveer repeated his question.
Naina smiled and nodded in affirmative. Rajveer then looked at the other cadets. While Ali, Yudi and Pooja were fairly shocked and disgusted at Huda's behaviour, Aalekh had a determined look on his face. He also noticed Huda throw an angry look at Naina.
Raj: One minute Cadet Huda. Abhi abhi aapne kaha tha na ki Cadet Singh agar aapke saath ball me nahi gayi to koi bhi inke saath nahi jayega? Thik hai, ab mai aapko ek baat batata hun. Cadet Singh ball me jarur jayengi aur unhe koi nahi rok payega.
Naina: Its ok sir. Mai jana bhi nahi chahati.
Raj: Kaise nahi jana chahti Cadet Singh? Ye tum logon ka pehla function hai academy me. Tum jaogi, jarur jaogi.
Naina: Mujhe ball dance nahi aata sir.
Raj: (smiling slightly) First year me kisi ko nahi aata aur ye kaam faculty ka hai ki wo students ko ball dance sikhaye. You don't worry. Tumhe ball dance mai sikhaunga.
Ali. Pooja and Yudi looked at each other with a faint surprise. Shalini and Aalekh however didn't bat an eyelid. They had sensed that this was the beginning. There was more to follow. Rajveer was going to drop the bombshell now.
Naina: Par sir, mai'kisi ke saath jana pasand nahi karungi. I mean'''
Raj (the half smile not leaving his face) You don't have to explain. I know what you mean. Don't worry Cadet Singh. Tum fresher's ball me chal rahi ho.
Naina: Par Sir'
Raj: Meri baat puri nahi hui hai Cadet Singh. If you don't mind, may I have the pleasure of accompanying you to the fresher's ball?
Naina looked up at him in surprise. A determination was written on his face' mingled with something else as well. But what? There were many questions. But this was not the right time to discuss them. She could feel the incredulity in the air. Her friends were surprised. She could see that.. Pooja was gaping at Raj open mouthed. Yudi and Ali were probably too shocked to react. Huda was plain and simple angry' and yes' jealous as well. Only Shalini and Aalekh were silent, as if they expected something like this, or probably even wanted it.
She decided to accept Raj's proposal in front of everyone. The questions can be sorted out later. With bent head she thought all this and raised her head to find Raj still patiently waiting for an answer.
She wanted to say yes but instead she asked something else. "Kya ek student apne mentor ke saath ball pe jaa sakti hai?"
Raj started laughing. "Kis rule book me likha hai nahi ja sakti? Dikha sakti ho mujhe wo book?"
Naina: Nahi'.likha to nahi'hai'
Raj: Toh fir jhijak kyun? Are you thinking that I was probably planning to go with someone else?"
Naina nodded her head a bit. Rajveer was amused. He smiled and replied. "Actually, mera fresher's ball me jaane ka koi irada hi nahi tha." He paused for a second and continued, "Toh'ab kya irada hai? Will you give me the pleasure of your company? Chalogi mere saath fresher's ball me?"
Naina nodded her head in affirmative.
Raj (mischeviously): I couldn't hear. What did you say?
Naina looked at him in wonder. Raj was smiling wickedly as he said this to her. So he wanted to trouble her. She never knew her Rajveer Sir was capable of such mischief as well. "YES." she said loudly enough so that the rest could hear her.
Raj: Thik hai. Then report to me at 1900 hours in the mess'in casuals. Tumhari dance class hai.
"Come on Shalini. And you too Cadet Huda." And he strode out of the room with Shalini bringing Huda behind him.
RAJVEER'S CABIN:
Rajveer stood silently near the window with his back towards the other people of the room. Doctor Shalini stood some distance apart leaning on the wall. In front of her stood Huda with his head bent down. He knew Shalini was glaring at him. The silence weighed heavily in the room. Shalini finally broke the silence.
S (in an ice cold voice) So Cadet Huda, kya kehna hai aapko? Jo aapne kiya, wo hum sabne dekha hai. Apne aap ko bahut smart samajhte hain aap? Jo aapka dil kare aap karenge, aur har koi aapki baat sunega, hai na. Yahi lagta hai aapko? Kya samajhte hain aap apne aap ko jaan sakti hun mai?
"Ek bahut hi handsome, smart aur dilchasp naujawan, jise ladkion ke piche padne ki aadat hai. Seedhe sadhi angrezi me kaha jaye toh ek flirt, yahi definition hai Cadet huda ki. Jiska charm aaj tak har ladki par chala hai. But unfortunately, Cadet Singh par inke charm ka koi asar nahi hua. Na aaj hua, na aaj se pehle hua tha, aur na hi aage kabhi bhi hoga. She is a challenge for him. Isliye usse fresher's ball par le jane ki zid ki thi. Aur unke mana karne par ye bardash nahi kar paye. Koi ladki Cadet Amardeep Huda ke charm ko mehsus na kare??? How is it possible? It is a blot on his flirtatious career, isn't it?" Raj now turned towards Huda, his eyes cold and distant. "Answer me Cadet Huda, am I right or not?"
H: I'm sorry sir.
"Am I right or not?" Raj thundered. Huda went cold with fear. Raj's temper was famous in the academy. Nobody dared to face him when he was angry.
Huda knew that his best interests would be to keep quiet in front of Raj.. So he kept his mouth shut. Raj shook his head in anger. "Useless. Aap yahan ek soldier banne aaye hain, Casanova nahin. Aage se aisi galti nahin honi chahiye. Aapko pehli baar pakda hai, isliye sirf warn kar ke chod raha hun. Is that clear?"
H: Yes sir. Sorry sir.
R: Sorry my foot. Shakal se to aap bilkul bhi sorry nahi lag rahe hain. Fir bhi, ek chance de raha hun aapko. Now leave."
Huda quietly went out of the cabin without a backward glance. Once outside, he broke into a run as if thousands of monsters were behind him. He ran and ran until he was safely in his room. "OOffffff!" He released the breath he had been holding till now. "Baap re. Bach gaye.."
CUT TO RAJVEER ' SHALINI:
S: Cadet Huda ko aaj raat ko nind nahi aayegi. You have given him a good dressing down. Waise bhi jab Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat ko gussa aata hai toh kisi me bhi unka samna karne ki himmat nahi hoti.
R: (To himself) Siway Naina me. She somehow always knows how to handle my temper. God only knows how many times I have been on the verge of losing my temper with her around. Somehow she always cooled me down.
S: Captain' Captain Shekhawat. Kahan kho gaye hain aap?
Raj came out of his thoughts and smiled. "Kuch nahi. Khair bataiye, Brigadier Sareen ko ball me kaise layen?"
S: (smiling mischeiviously) Wo aap mujh par chod dijiye. Mai sab sambhal lungi. Bas itna jaan lijiye, iss bar Brigadier Sareen ball me jarur aayenge
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS: I know it was a bit far fetched, but I don't remember if it was said anywhere in LRL that the cadets couldn't go to the ball with their teacher. Even if something like this had been there and I have forgotten it then please forgive me. Because Naina going to the ball with Raj was necessary for the further progress of the story. Also this can be treated as a special case because of Huda's misbehaviour.I have taken the liberty of sending RN together and even though it may not be possible in reality but I would still ask you all to accept it and then forget it if you don't like it. Your comments are welcome.
Another important thing is that I'll be going on leave from the 18th of this month to 6th of october. So there may or may not be any updates for this period depending upon the availability of the net. So I request you all to please post your comments so that I can post the next part as soon as I come back. And please don't kill me for this. This is a long update. isi ko dekhkar maaf kar dena.
Wishing everyone a very HAPPY DURGA PUJA.
