Need for a PM for updates ?

Hello my dear fellow readers and writers,

This questions has been bothering me for quite a while now . Do we really need a PM for updates?
It takes up a lot of time on writers part to send out PM for an update . On the other hand it piles up in the inbox of the reader.

Isnt it an obvious fact that if a reader like a story , they would follow up on that no matter what. They really dont need a PM to be informed about the update.

As lubna mentioned in one of the posts that commenting on a writing appreciating their work , encourages a writer.

But I have a counter part to it, some readers merely dont reply to a story they like coz they dont want those tons of pm's about updates.

I personally follow up on the ff;s i read, without even lookng at the PM inbox. I have them bookmarked on my computer , or i simply use the ff index list or update thread. I admit that sometimes i dont reply to the ff i read, just coz i dont want PM's regarding updates coz sometimes i cant make it to leave abt comments and i feel bad knowing that they spent their time on sending a PM and i cudnt leave them a comment.

Also looking out for an update in the pages does give you a chance to look at other ff's as well and who knows u might come across a really interesting story😉

kanu jaan i have to agree with you...personally i dont need the pms, cause i look through the first 10 pages of the ff section everyday to see if there has been any ff i read updated...so point being, i check anyways, regardless of pms.
or yes, bookmark them or have the links so u can chech up on them!
it is a lot of work for the writters, and i do appreciate it! but if its too much for the writters, i dont mind not recieving the pms :)

or i simply use search within forum option
yeah and for writers theres quite a no of unreplied .... why dont save time 😉

I freak out when i get pms...honestly they are a ticker for me....and it becomes obligatory for the reader to leave a comment..when at times the readers are in a fix of what to write and what not to...cuz surely.....one wouldn't always like the update...and someone like me woudlnt want to fake goody about it..!!
Personally...as i said ...i dont like gettin PMed for updates...and mostly always i tell them to skip me on those...!!

yeah even i wud letthe writer know that u can skip me on that coz i do follow up

i sometimes dont write an update fearing of the long pm list 😆
