Diya's POV
I stirred slowly,feeling completely disoriented.I breathed in slowly and then breathed out trying to get rid of the feeling that made me nauseous.I was vaguely aware of the soft cushion underneath me.It was really very comfortable.
I was however not comforted.The voice floated in despite my attempts at suppressing it

I clenched my fists,hoping that I would become unconscious again..It was a relief when I fainted in Sujoy's office...
Sujoy's office
I sat up with a jolt,and almost swayed.
""Finally...""said a voice from across the room.I saw Sujoy lounging on his office chair surrounded by papers.
I stared at him dizzily-my head still sore.
""You should have told me you are so scared of meeting PartyFood Caterers .Then I would have tried to resolve the negotiations by myself...""
""What?""I said trying to sit up.My throat was parched.As though reading my mind he held out a huge glass of water.I drank deeply
""The meeting ...what happened?""
""We had to cancel ofcourse.""He sounded sour about it.
I felt a sudden anger.How was it my fault anyway
""I am so sorry Sujoy...Unlike you I dont schedhule my fainting spells.""
He raised his eyebrows.
""Did I say something?""
""No...But you dont have to.I can see it.Its not my fault that the meeting got cancelled.""
He shrugged slightly.
""Well...technically it is.""
My mouth fell open.He had to be the most insensitive jerk on earth.I swung my feet down and started looking for my shoes.

""Well you cant.The doctor said you are not fit to travel alone...so I...
""There was a doctor to see me?""
"" Yes..he even gave you a sedative.You have been unconscious for a while thats why.Your brother will here soon.""
I stopped moving.
""You told Mayank?!!!""
He looked taken aback.
""Wasnt I supposed to?""
""Oh..oh my ..oh!!He is going to make...oh...you just had to do that didnt you?""
""Why whats wrong?""
""Nothing is wrong...not for you anyway.""I almost screeched.
I had almost reached the door when he clasped onto my wrist.
""Diya wait...""
I couldnt believe his nerve-He had touched me -touched Diya Sharma.
""Let go of me...""I said almost calmly
""Listen you are not fit to go anywhere...""
""I said let go of my hand or else...""
He smirked.
""Or else what?""
""Or else I will sue you for sexually harrassing me.""
There was a silence-I felt proud.I had silenced the mighty Sujoy Bose that too on a legal point.
Then he burst out laughing.My eyes narrowed.
""Its not a laughing matter-""I said
He nodded barely containing his laughter .I turned to leave.I wanted to leave this jerk's office so that I could wallow in my miseries.I stopped suddenly.
Why was I hurrying back anyway?Would alone time help..could I cope with dealing the loss of samrat?
Sujoy took advantage of my temporary immobility and closed his office door.I raised my eyebrows coldly.
He still seemed to be fighting his laughter.
""I dont want to be sued.""
I sighed
""That was a fluke and you know it.""
""I do know your passion for lawsuits so I might not be surprised if you suddenly decide to sue me for negligence.""
"""Negligence...?""
""For letting you drive in such a condition.""he finished politely.
I threw my hands up in the air.
"Whatever!!!""
I sat in my cold posture for my remaining visit while Sujoy tactfully ignored my presence.Few minutes later I heard Mayank in the corridor.I closed my eyes knowing this would now reach my mother's ears for sure.
""Diya...""Mayank said rushing through the door and enveloping me in a tight hug.I suddenly had the urge to cry.The way he held me showed his tension-that he cared for me-unlike sammy!
I sniffed around his shoulder.He held me tighter.
""YOu okay D'doll?""
From the corner of my eye I could see Sujoy amusement as he heard my nickname.That made me break the embrace.
""Lets go home..""
Mayank looked at me and then at Sujoy.
""What did the doctor say?""
Sujoy smiled.
""Nice to see you too Mayank...""
Mayank laughed.
""Sorry Sujoy I was just worried about her.She is annoying and crazy but she is all that I have-""
I scowled at him.
""Stop talking like I am not here.""
They both laughed.
""She is fine Mayank-The doctor said she is suffering from weakness so she needs to be well-fed.He has our address so he will be visiting her tomorrow.""
Mayank nodded and thanked him and then we both left.
