Chapter 16
PART 3
Diya's POV
I leaned back and smiled at the laptop screen.I was proud of my handiwork...Who but Diya Sharma can phrase an email which was so bloody brilliant?!
Smiling I read it again.
To:s.bose@lawchambers.net
Subject:Breadcrumb survivors dont act so smart!
Dear Mr.Bose
I start my email in that manner because I was taught to.What it actually means is
Sujoy Bose-for a man surviving on my brother's breadcrumbs you sure do have loads of guts!
The sordid woman you call a secretary called me to say that you have rescheduled our meeting at 6pm!
There are a few things I would like to clear up for future guidance!1
1)Next time you have something to say say it yourself!Diya Sharma doesnt speak to secretaries!
2)Never ever dare to change meeting timings I agreed to.Meet you at 6pm indeed-you might not have a social life but I sure do!
3)FYI-I paid you a solid some of money so I own you for the time being so dump your misplaced attitude someplace when you come to meet me at 4pm today!
Regards
Diya Sharma!
Smiling even more widely I pressed the sent button!Sujoy Bose really needed to learn how to deal with me.Honestly the man was a pain.
The email had taken quite a time to write and I was happy that I had something to take my mind off.Nowadays leisure time really ticked me off.
Life was moving at snail space.I could not do away my restlessness.
"Done Diya?"Annie called from the couch where she was giving herself a manicure.
While I was never alone,I was often lonely. There was nothing wrong with Annie. But somehow we never connected on the level I connected with Nupur-maybe that is why inspite of all odds nupur and I had stuck to our friendship.
Now I hardly get to see my best friend. She was too busy with my brother. The thought made me giggle.
I needed to find out about how their date went. And tease Mayank about it...
"I will be back Annie.."I said gracefully sliding off the bed .I opened the door to see my man servant carrying a huge bouquet of flowers.
He placed it on my side table and Annie stood up.
"Diya beti apke liye aaya hai.."the servant announced.
I nodded at him.My mind was still on the mayank teasing mode.Annie however seemed super excited at the bouquet.
"Who is it from Diya?"
I shrugged.
"I dont know babes.I keep on getting these things.Maybe from Vivek or Ajay or...
"Samrat.."Annie piped in.
My smile hardened.
"No I dont think so."
Samrat had become so remote that he was almost non-existent now.First he left for Ooty and when he came back he seemed like he barely knew me.
Consciously or subconsciously I knew I was losing him.Was it because of that I felt so lonely nowadays...that life felt so dull...
"Diya...there is a card."Annie announced.
I looked up,trying to dispel the awful thoughts.
"What does it say?"
"It says:This is almost an insult to you..."
I sat up straight.
Insult! This sounded almost like something Sujoy would say.
"Give me that."
I snatched the card and read.
This is almost an insult to you...a bouquet for a princess!I know flowers would never be a worthy present for you..but if you can forgive my mistake and come have dinner with me tonight...i will treat you just like a princess should be treated.
Always waiting
RV
"RV?!Who in the world in RV.?"Annie asked me
I racked my brains for a while before exclaiming.
"He is this guy I met at my lawyer's office. How does he know where I live?"
"Wow!He seems hot! Will you meet him?"
I scowled at her.
"Babes I dont even know him...."
There was sudden pop-up sound.I glanced at the laptop.I had recieved a new email.
Excited I quickly opened it.
From:s.bose@lawchambers.net.
To: D_doll@gmail.com
Subject:To the girl who should have never left nursery school.
Dear Diya Sharma
First of all I would like you congratulate you for learning how to write letters.Secondly I would like to say that you have definately chosen a very suitable email id ..miss d_doll!
You are indeed a doll and I am so not talking about looks here..its the brain I am talking about..You know the grey matters that you have inside your head...I cant explain it that well but do check the dictionary if you are unsure about what brain is.
Now why am I responding to insanely childish letter.Because I think someone should tell you Ms.Sharma you should have never left nursery school. That is where you belong
Also I dont survive on your brother;s breadcrumbs rather I am his legal consultant so he survives on my legal advice.
Secondly the paycheck you have given is still left in drawer untouched because I,unlike you,do think about the values of money so you are welcome to take it back when we meet today at 6pm.
We are indeed meeting at 6pm only but if you want to come and start waiting for the meeting from 4pm..you are most welcome to.I am sure my secretary would survive the encounter even though she might develop severe brain hammerage from a 2 hour contact with you.
Regards
Sujoy
My mouth was hanging open for a full whole minute.
"OH MY GOD DIYA....This isnt good..."
I shut my mouth up.This was not good ...it was so not good.
I almost ran to my brother;s room.
"Mayank...mayank Sharma..."
