This is the office space."Arti said letting Nupur in.

Nupur stared at the huge oval space and sighed.There was no scarcity of sunlight here.The huge dome was tallest building in the block and there were no obstacles to brightness.Somehow that endeared the place to Nupur.She had a weakness for brightness.

"Hi…"a voice said hesistantly.

Instantly her heart accelerated.She didn't need her eyes to see who spoke,her heart had recognized its ruler.She took a deep breath composing herself.Maybe I shouldn't look at him.She turned around keeping her eyes safely on the dusty cement floor.
"Hi.."
She waited not daring to look up or speak.The silence lengthened until at last she looked up.He was staring at her a frustrated look on his face.He seemed to be debating what to say.He saw her staring and smiled.

"I know you think…"he stopped and then said"This is so annoying."

Nupur raised her eyebrows.
"What is so annoying?"

"Me not being able to say what I want to say."he continued running hand through his hair."I know you must think of me a loser."

Nupur's jaws fell open.She was so surprised she blurted out.
"I dnt think of you as a loser.If you must know I think…"She stopped then.What could she say I think you are most perfect person I know.
He seemed pleased.
"You think?'
She looked down her nerves getting better of her.She began to shuffle the sheaf of papers in her hands.Brochures,painting patterns,interior design magazines….

She noted the colours citing them inwardly.

Blue, turqouise, royal blue, midnight blue,green….

He seemed to be waiting.Then he sighed.

"Okay I get it.You don't have to tell me.But I wish you would.I would love to know what you think of me."

She blushed,her breathing quickening.Love..the word sounded beautiful than ever when he said it.She broke her self-imposed rule at looked at his face.He had a soft smile in his face.
"Red…"she blurted out loud.

He looked taken aback.
"Red…You think I am red?"

Oh no!She had spoken aloud.He must know now.Know that she was citing colours to calm herself.

Her breating quickened.She felt tears stinging in her eyes

He stared at her fr a long moment then his eyes went wide.
"Whats wrong?"Nupur asked diverted.

"My office will be RED!!Have you lost your mind?"he asked

That touched a nerve.Maybe because it was true.
"What is wrong with red?"

"What is right abut red?"

Nupur clenched her jaw.
"Red is in.My favourite clor is red,roses are red and Katrina's dress in Coffee with Karan was red.How can you insult red?Red is…."

"Exactly my point.Red is girly.The walls should be painted offwhite."he said calmly.

"Offwhite is boring."Nupur said ,her designer instincts revolting.

"Well.I am boring."he said with an impish grin.

Her anger melted leaving a sensation of alertness.Her heart was still thumping like she had run a race.Had she just screamed at him?At Mayank…

"I…am..sorry…"she said

He shook his head.
"No!I am sorry.That night in the garden I wasn't staring at you.I was…I saw you there and you looked so …"
He stopped.She waited.Then he smiled.
"Try not to freak out okay?"he asked
She nodded smiling.

"You looked as if you were untouched by the world ..innocent and vulnerable.I couldn't…just couldn't look away."he said looking away.
She stared at him.
He bit his lip.
"You going to run away or something?"
"I…I…would have…"she said hesistatingly.
"But…"
"I seem unable to move.."she said gulping hard.

He laughed.
"So very convenient for me."

Nupur thought.She wondered what he will do if she suddenly had a heartattack.She seemed on verge of it.
