Recap--Armaan and Riddhima meets to talk about the case but ends up having a heated argument. Riddhima quits the case.Armaan offers to drop Riddhima home as she gets stuck in rain. Riddhima finds Muskaan is back home.

Part -6

As Armaan drove away from Riddhima's house he checked his watch......it was 11:00 PM and he need to reach Kunal's place as soon as possible as its late already…….but he did not feel like going there just now…….he felt as if he needed to be alone , to sit somewhere quietly …..he parked his car at a nearby beach ……..sat on a rock there and looked at the sea………As the waves dashed against the rocks , Armaan felt as if the whole scenario is depicting just as he his feeling……however hard he may try to remain calm he cannot ignore the turmoil that's going on in his mind anymore….he had asked Riddhima not to take up the case as he himself wants to solve Rohan's case……he did not know if he has done the right thing or not ……..all he knew was that he did what his heart told him to do……the problem is he cannot tell Kunal that Riddhima has refused to work in the case ….Armaan did not want to make Kunal even more unhappy …..he needed to talk to Rahul……its only him who can help Armaan now.

"Hello" a very sleepy and irritated voice answered from the other end of the phone.

"Rahul, I need to meet you immediately"

"Have you gone crazy?…..now? ……do you realize its 2:00 in the morning ?"

"I know Rahul…. but I need to discuss about Rohan's case just now"

"Okay come over to my place then"….. Rahul sighed and kept the phone down….. he knew that Armaan really cared for Rohan and his death have disturbed Armaan a lot……Rahul knew Armaan needed his support now and he is ready to give his support even if it means sacrificing his only love "sleeping" .

After listening to everything that Armaan had to say……Rahul remained quiet for sometime and then said "so Uncle Kunal does not know anything about what happened between you and Riddhima ?"…..Armaan said " I wanted to tell him but when I returned home I saw he was sleeping and I did not want to disturb him……also I did not want to make him more unhappy"

"Then why did you ask Riddhima not to work upon this case ?……if you knew that way Uncle will be happy at least a bit"

"I had my reasons"

"And the reasons are …."

"Rahul……whatever Uncle says, Riddhima is an outsider …..Rohan's case is not as simple as it looks….its not a case where someone is kidnapped for ransom, as we never got any ransom calls…….its much more complicated…..Rohan was someone who never mixed with bad company……I knew all his friends…..then why someone who never had any enemies , who never got involved in something illegal get murdered ?…..whatever the secret behind his murder is , I don't want some outsider to interfere in our family matters….you are there to help us …..u will help me find out the murderer wont you ?

"Armaan …..I am always there to help you and I will definitely do so…….i understand your emotions perfectly well ……but I still think you should have let Riddhima work on this case as Uncle wished for that……also Rohan's murder has been already publicized…Mayfair having bagged the biggest export deal you and Kunal Uncle have become famous its only a matter of few hours that the media will flock around you asking you questions about the murder…..i think that's worse than Riddhima working on the case."

"But Rahul I can always manage the media by refusing to give interviews and by not disclosing everything about the matter …..but I cannot keep Riddhima away from discovering things about our family……you are a part of our family …I will feel more comfortable if you investigate the case"

"Armaan , why are u so worried about people knowing about Uncle's or your family?….you were never involved in any shady business…not that I know of …..then why ? …..is there something I don't know?"

Armaan hesitated a bit …… " to tell the truth even I don't know why I am behaving like this …….i just want our family matters to remain private"

"Armaan…. I am sure Riddhima will never publicize whatever she comes to know about the matter"

"You have not even met Riddhima and you are so confident about her?"

Rahul smiled and said …"Armaan, this is called sixth sense….i have a very strong feeling that she can be trusted"

" So what do you suggest ?……what should I do ?"

" I have a plan….and it might just work.."

The club is crowded with people, yet Sameer felt he is alone ….he sat at the bar of the dimly lit club and gulped down the drink he had ordered, hoping the burning sensation of alcohol will burn away the fear in his heart ……but it didn't ….he wished the music which is so loud that people have to literally shout to make themselves heard, will become more loud, so that he can block out the voices that are whispering in his head continuously to change his decision ……Sameer could not sit at the club for long….he felt he needed to get out of here as soon as possible….will he never be able to lead a normal life again? A normal life with his wife and kid?……..how he wished he had listened to Sheila …..how he wished he had never met Rishabh ……but he was blinded by greed….greed of giving Sheila all she wanted , giving their daughter the best toys he could buy….buying the house he always dreamt of having….now he has it all….yet he has lost everything.

As Sameer walked down the lonely street leaving the crowded club behind he began to remember everything… the incident that changed his whole life….

* Flashback *

"Sheila" ……..Sameer said excitedly as his wife opened the door for him….Sameer have come back from his office early tonight…..too excited to share a great news with his family.

"what happened dear? You look really excited"….Sheila said smiling looking at her husband's excited face

"I just got a new job offer….my salary will be tripled if I take up this job.. isn't that great ??"

Sheila looked at Sameer in surprise …"Job offer??…you never told me you were looking for another job?"

"I was not looking for another job…….its just an opportunity that fell on my lap…today while I was at work….someone named Rishabh Singh came to meet me…..and he made a very interesting offer"

"What's the offer??" asked Sheila

"They have a company named Gold Rush …..and they deal in import export of jewelry…Rishabh wants me to join them….apparently he thinks I will do well in that business as I have got experience in the area of import-export"

"It is weird ……how did he get to know abt you?? Sheila asked in surprise

Sameer shrugged and said " I don't know…..i got so much engrossed in the conversation I completely forgot to ask him"

"Sameer…..how could you be so careless??" said Sheila reproachfully

"I am sorry darling……I will ask him tomorrow….i really want to take this job ….it will solve all our problems"

Sheila sighed and said " Are you sure Sameer you want to take up this job ?? I am not getting a good feeling about this……its all so sudden and weird…and it does not make any sense…..i mean why would they choose you??….i am not trying to discourage you…but there are many others more experienced than you whom they should have taken"

"May be they felt I suited the job most……why are you worrying so much honey….its just a job…..with a much better salary…come on I just gave you such a good news and you are frowning as if I told you about some murder…smile a bit …please"

" I am sorry dear…I guess I am worrying unnecessarily ……congratulations"….Sheila smiled hugging him

* Flashback ends *

Yes that was the last conversation he had with his wife about joining Gold Rush….for next day without thinking anything he agreed to take up this job….Shiela had grumbled a bit when she found out that he had joined without even discussing about this with her but she eventually relented when Sameer had apologized to her.

It was not until after 9 months since he had joined the company that he discovered….Gold Rush is not at all what it seemed to be ….there were lot of weird going on in the company…much more than he could comprehend….he found this all out accidentally while looking up some files…..he found many discrepancies in the accounts of the company….this made him suspicious…he had confronted Rishabh about this but he had only laughed this off and had told him not to worry……its just some minor mistakes which he will look into and will rectify….Sameer had not pushed the matter that time but he could not help feeling suspicious about Rishabh…..for the first time he doubted about the decision he had taken about working here.

Sameer was very right in being suspicious of Rishabh and he found that out very soon…It was very late that night and Sameer had just finished his work and was locking his office…while leaving his office he passed Rishabh's and was surprised to see that light is still on there and the door slightly ajar….. he heard people talking in low voices inside….Rishabh found himself eavesdropping on the conversation….And he was horrified from whatever he made out from the conversation.

Sameer had not been able to sleep that night…he kept thinking about what he had found out that night….it seemed to him that Gold Rush was just a sham….behind all its glitter and glory there was deceit, lies, and may be even murder….Gold Rush was just a veil behind which Rishabh and his men were carrying on illegal activities like smuggling and drug dealing…. Sameer became determined to find out all.

For the next few days Sameer found himself snooping around the office, going through the company files on the sly….he always made sure that Rishabh does not find him snooping….what he found from all his little investigation was really shocking and also very dangerous……it seemed Gold Rush was not the only company that has been built to protect the shady business of Rishabh and Co. but they have different other companies registered under various names all over the world….which means that a very large network was working …Rishabh was only a part of it.

Sameer wanted to leave Gold Rush but got sucked into the black hole more and more…Greed, one of the most powerful sins, is very difficult to conquer….yes, Sameer had become greedy, greedy of having all the comfort and luxury that the job was giving him, greedy of seeing that contented smile on the face of his wife and daughter…. So he kept quiet …..kept quiet till he overheard Rishabh asking one of his accomplice to kill someone.

To Sameer this seemed to be the last straw…….he decided it was now or never…..and he made a terrible mistake….he confronted Rishabh…it was foolish…and now he realizes that….Rishabh threatened to finish his family if he uttered a single word…leaving Gold Rush seemed impossible.

Thus began the nightmare of his life….he could not share this with his wife….he could not leave Gold Rush……and he lived in constant fear for his wife and daughter.

But today he has decided he cannot take it anymore….that he will end this nightmare….he pulled a pistol from his pocket and placed it on his temple….a cool breeze was blowing….the night is dark and silent….Sameer closed his eyes…..he saw a beautiful picture…..her little daughter running on the beach of Goa towards him , and there standing at a little distance is Sheila laughing…….picture of a perfect , happy family, a family which must get destroyed now…Sameer closes his fingers around the trigger and was about to pull it when he again saw the smiling faces of his wife and daughter….Sameer sighed and kept the gun down….no he cannot ….he cannot end his life…he cannot be selfish….he cannot leave his wife and daughter helpless…..they depend on him…..he cannot make them cry…he cannot die….but he can fight ….he can refuse to remain a coward.

yes he will fight…fight against Rishabh…its dangerous…its risky…he will not let them kill the innocent….he doesn't know how…..but he will do it.

She ran faster and faster……the houses in the lane blurred as she ran …..she looked back and saw he was coming closer and closer towards her……she knew today she cannot escape….she tried to scream but no sound came from her throat……just then she heard a loud ringing sound….the sound would not stop it went on…

Riddhima woke up from her sleep with a jerk ……again that dream……how she wished these dreams would stop …….but she knew they wont……haven't she tried to put an end to these dreams?….took slipping pills, talked with a doctor……but nothing helped….Riddhima saw that the alarm clock beside her bed was still ringing , it was 6:00 am already….she stopped the clock and got up ……she went to Muskaan's room and saw she was still sleeping soundly. Riddhima smiled looking at her.

She will never forget the expression on Muskaan's face when she had told all about the case….but just like Muskaan's usual reaction, she had found Armaan more interesting than the case or the fact that Riddhima has turned into an investigator from a lawyer….when Riddhima had told her she had left the case because of him Muskaan yelled at her saying "do you know what you have done??"…..Ridz had replied "yes….i have left a very interesting case but I am sure I will find a better one"…..to that Muskaan rolled her eyes and said " you have lost an opportunity to date a cute guy"

Ridz smiled remembering the conversation with Muskaan

"Ridzzziiiiiiii"…..yelled Muskaan….Ridz said " Wow sleeping beauty is up ……why are u screaming??"

"I just remembered I have to go shopping" said Muskaan smiling widely.

"Muski I have got other works ……so if you are thinking that I will accompany to your shopping u are wrong"

"Ridz…you are so boring….u are my friend since childhood and I cannot believe I could not make you feel interested in shopping??"

Just then the bell rings….Ridz gets up to open the door and sees Neha standing.

"Neha??…come inside"

"Ridz, You look surprised?"

"Yeah!…it Sunday…..and you usually go out of town on Sunday don't you?"

"Yeah you are right…I go to my brother's place….but he had to leave today for some work….so I thought of coming here and discuss the case"

"Oh! But don't you know Ridz have quit that case"….Muskaan barged into the conversation grinning.

Neha looked at Muskaan in surprise…."Hey Muskaan…..you are back ??….. Ridz, is Muskaan telling the truth??"

Ridz nodded at Neha….. "Yeah ! well apparently Mr.Armaan Mallik does not want me to work on this case…..he was extremely rude to me…and so I decided to drop the case"

Neha heaved a sigh of relief…."I am glad Ridz …that you quit this crazy assignment…it was risky"

"Now why is Muskaan pouting may I ask ??"

Ridz looked at Muskaan and answered Neha …."oh unlike you she is really disappointed that I am not risking my life"

"Just kidding Neha" Ridz added hurriedly seeing Neha's shocked expression and Muskaan's murderous glance, "Muskaan is really disappointed as she wont be able to meet Mr. Armaan Mallik"

Neha said "Oh I see…quiet understandable"

Ridz laughed seeing Muskaan's furious expression.

Muskaan quickly composed herself and smiling sweetly said " Neha, you were worrying unnecessarily ….the assignment was not that risky …and anyway I would have been with Ridz always"

Neha rolled her eyes and said "Yeah right …you are Superman and you will punch the goons and they will fall dead "

"Neha…. Firstly I am not "Superman"….i am "Superwoman"…….and secondly you don't need physical strength u need mental strength to outwit those goons…and I think I am very intelligent and so I can protect Ridz"…Muskaan said crossly

Ridz smiled and said,"Ok now stop quarreling both of you, lets ….",but before Ridz could complete her sentence…her phone began to ring…she looked surprised seeing the number and after debating for sometime whether to take the call or not she decided to answer it.

Ridz kept the phone down, still trying to make sense of the conversation she just had over the phone…She looked at Muskaan and Neha ,who were still happily arguing with each other.

Ridz cleared her throat and said "Neha, Muski, …guess who called??"…but those two were so busy in their argument that they paid no heed to Ridz.

Ridz repeated her question now yelling , both Muskaan and Neha jumped and turned to stare at her.

"Wha..What happened Ridz..why are you yelling?" Neha said

"No, nothing you two continue with your lovely discussion, I am done"

"We are sorry Ridz, please tell what happened, someone called you right?" Muskaan said apologetically trying to pacify Ridz.

Ridz melted a bit at Muskaan's apologetic tone, "Yeah, you wont believe it , Armaan called"

Now Riddhima got the expected reaction from both of them

"WHAT !!!!" both Muskaan and Neha shouted together

"Why did he call??"

"What does he want now??"

"Did he call to apologize?"

Ridz put up her hand to stop their shower of questions at her, " Girls, wait…I am answering to all your questions"

"Armaan wants me back on this case"

"Ha..i knew it…he realized he cannot solve it on his own", Muskaan said proudly

"You are wrong Muski, he has made a weird deal with me."

"Whats the deal?" Muskaan asked impatiently

"He said he will not provide me with any help on the case as he does not trust me, and that he will continue his own investigation with his friend. Only if I can accept these two things then I can work on the case "

"That's so rude" Neha blurted out "Off course you did not accept the deal"

"But I did Neha"

"Why Ridz?" Neha exclaimed. "He is so rude to you"

"It does not matter if Armaan is rude with me…I am not working for him, i am working for his uncle who is a very nice man. Mr. Armaan Mallik is as good as non-existent for me. I cannot break Mr. Kunal Mehra's trust"

"So I guess we are back on the case?" Neha sighed

"Yes Neha ..we are"

Muskaan's eyes glittered with excitement as Riddhima said this.

I could not go through the whole part..so there might be some mistakes..feel free to point out the mistakes 😳
