How I Met Your Mother: AR - Part 2; Page 2 6/21/09 - Page 2

"Fine, Radhika. So back to the story, Her name was Radhika. We had been going out for one year. I had first met her at a party. My best friend from college had introduced us. We had it off right from then and had been going great for one whole year until I got a great job offer in New York City. I had convinced Radhika that I'll be back in two months, but she still wasn't completely convinced. She thought that I would change and wouldn't remain the same Armaan. I had told her to come with me then but she said she wanted to stay back. Though, she did say that she would come to visit. I told her I would wait for her and then left for New York – the city of my dreams."

"But before leaving, Radhika had given me a package to give to one of her best friends in New York. She said it was the only person she knew in New York and wanted to give her something special. The name on the package was Sanjana Kapoor. I told Radhika that I would call Sanjana once I reached and would personally deliver the package to her. She thanked me and said good-bye."

"Once I reached New York, I was amazed by how lively and energetic the city was. It was just so beautiful. I couldn't wait for my first day at work. I would start work the next day after adjusting into my new apartment the company had gifted me. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable for me. After settling in, I called Radhika to tell her I had reached safely. She was still scared I would change a whole lot in such a big city, but I told her I wouldn't and changed the topic. She then asked me if I had given the package to Sanjana to which I had told her that I had called her and left a message. She said okay and told me that I must be really tired and that I should go to sleep early so that I can get up in time for work tomorrow."

"The next day at work was really hectic. I was introduced to all of the office workers. I had training the whole day. My boss was really nice and caring. It felt as if a blessing to work at such an office. I had made really nice friends including this really nice guy, Rahul Garewal. I could say anything to this him. I talked about my past and future and especially, Radhika. He would listen and be very understanding. He even helped me out with projects and adjusting to this completely new city. He was a true friend."

"Really? Did he also help you out with your other girlfriends?" Aditi said laughingly.

"Aditi…you are too much." Armaan said with a chuckle.

"But yes, he did help me in those kind of scenarios, too. But we'll get back to that later." Armaan said.

"Hmm…what about Sanjana? Did you ever give her that package Radhika had given you?" Aditi asked.

"Sanjana? I did actually go to her house personally as I had promised Radhika that I would. When I reached her home, she was out but her housekeeper told me she would be back in about 30 minutes. So, I decided to wait. The housekeeper let me in and said that she also had to go out for a while and that Sanjana would be back before she did. I was amazed at how the housekeeper let me, a stranger, all alone in Sanjana's house. But anyways, I still was curious about what exactly was in that package." Armaan said.

"Dad, you didn't open it, right?" Aditi said slowly.

"Well…" Armaan said.

"Well what? You did open it, right? How could you? Radhika had sent it with you with so much trust. I am pretty sure she didn't want you to open it." Aditi said shockingly.

"Aditi, beta, come on. You know, what else would I do. I knew that if I opened it, I could easily seal it and Sanjana would never know. You know what I mean and stop acting so shocked. You know your dad, right?" Armaan said with a grin on his face.

"But what if something personal was in there. Then?" Aditi said innocently.

"You're just like your mother, so innocent." Armaan said.

"But who is my mom?" Aditi whimpered.

"That's the million dollar question for you to figure out. Now can we get on with the story to find out what was in that package." Armaan said with a smile.

"Yes, but first let me go and get some Mott's apple juice for both of us. I am getting thirsty. Aren't you, dad?" Aditi asked.

"Yes, yes, with so much talking, obviously, I'll be thirsty!" Armaan said with a chuckle.

"Ok…I'll be right back." Aditi said as she sprang up from her bed.

In about 2 minutes, Aditi was back with the two apple juice cans.

"Dad, I'm ready now. So, what was in that package now that you have already opened it?" Aditi asked as she sipped on her apple juice.
