Muskaan rushed over to Rahul, in his bid to grab someone's attention he had somehow managed to push his upper half off the bed, Placing him back on the bed Muskaan rang down to reception.
'Jaldi se Dr. Keerti ko bulao Room 325 wala patient jag gayya hai!' she shouted down the phone.
Dr. Keerti was there within minutes, bringing Niki with her.
Dr. Nikita please carry out a general check-up on Mr. Grewal, inform me of any abnormalities IMMEDIATELY' she ordered.
After instructing Niki, Dr. Keerti turned her attention to Rahul.
'Mr Grewal I'll be back in a few hours to check up on you, as of now I'd advise you not to talk too much.'
Rahul nodded.
'Miss Chaddha please ring Mr. Grewal's next of kin and inform of the improvement in his condition.'
Muskaan stood there shocked, she couldn't believe he was finally awake.
'MISS CHADDHA!' Dr. Keerti shouted, causing Muskaan to snap out of her thoughts.
'Oh... Er... J... Jee... Dr. Keerti?' Muskaan stuttered.
'Please ring Mr. Grewal's next of kin and inform of the improvement in his condition.' She
stressed once again.
Muskaan was confused, what should she do? Rahul's parents were clearly not interested so who could she ring?
'Ummm... Maam...'
'Miss Chaddha! What are you still doing here?! Go! Now!' Dr. Keerti was practically fuming.

By the time Muskaan returned everyone had left. Rahul was now sitting up in bed, leaning his head (back) on a pillow with his eyes closed.
Muskaan coughed loudly not knowing whether to wake him or not.
'I am awake you know, you must be Muskaan' Rahul grinned lazily, Opening his eyes.
'You remember me?' Muskaan's heart did a cartwheel in her chest.
'Remember you? He looked at her as if she'd grown two heads. 'Ummm... Dr. Niki told me about you before she left...'
'Oh...' Muskaan's face fell.
How could she have thought he would've remembered her... Woh toh coma may tha, stupid she thought to herself.
'Sorry...' Not knowing why, Rahul felt the need to apologise.
'So you should be, main koi bhulne wali cheez hu kya?' Joked Muskaan
Rahul couldn't control his laughter. It sure would be fun getting to know her he thought. Rahul's laughter suddenly turned to violent, racking coughs. He groaned in pain.
Muskaan rushed to his side immediately.
'Water...' He croaked, in between coughs.
Hands shaking, she poured the water and held it up to his mouth. Drinking from the glass Rahul looked up into Muskaan's eyes, Muskaan stared back, the worry clearly visible in her eyes. Rahul had the most mesmerizing hazel eyes, she felt her worry slip away. A strange sense of comfort overtook her.
'Should I come back some other time?' Atul grinned, his voice breaking their eyelock.
Placing the glass back on the table Muskaan smiled sarcastically.'Chup kar kankhajure! Pata nahin kya bak bak kiya ja raha hai' She punched him playfully on the arm.
'Kya yaar Muski tune kabse boxing shuru kardi?' He moaned. 'Ab toh meri baatein tujhe bak bak he lagein gi Rahul jo jaag gayya hai' He teased her knowingly.
Muskaan blushed.
'Looks like you've met your match huh Champ?' Rahul laughed lightly, his eyes dancing with amusement.
'Rahul, mere bhai... Mere dost... Tujhe toh main dekh lunga, aik baar tu teek hoja... Phir dikhata hu tujhe' He joked, walking over and hugging him.
Dragging over a chair to Rahul's bedside he sat down.
'Wow Muski! Yeh Phool?' Atul pointed to the roses on the windowsill. 'Kisi secret admirer ne behje hai kya?' He winked. 'Dekh na Rahul, jaldi se kuch kar warna teri dulhaniya koi aur lejayega' He teased.
Muskaan shot Atul daggers from across the room.
'Oh come off it champ, hum dono toh ek dusre ko jaante tak nahin aur tu hai ki...' Rahul smiled at Muskaan.
'Faint heart never won fair lady' Atul grinned.
'Ummm... Actually guys... Yeh phool Rahul ke parents ne behje hai...' Muskaan looked nervously from Rahul to Atul.
A deafening silence fell over the room. It was so quite you could hear a pin drop. Atul opened his mouth to say something only to be interrupted by a knock at the door. Getting up Muskaan walked over to the door and pulled it open.
'A delivery for Miss. Muskaan Chaddha' A gruff voice said. The guy wore a baseball cap which covered his eyes, so only his mouth could be seen.
'For me? Mujhe kaun kuch behje ga...' Muskaan whispered under her breath, looking confused.
'Please sign here' The guy handed Muskaan a clipboard.
Signing, Muskaan held out her hand waiting for the guy to hand her the package. Instead, he removed his cap and looked at Muskaan.
Muskaan screamed.
