Part 9-

In the last few days there had been alot of changes in the firm. Mr bakshi had quit, nupur had come back, she had got the proposal, though she was still working on it with mayank, and mayank and annes relationship had started going to the dogs.

Anne had started hanging out a lot with benji which pissed mayank like hell, he felt a hole being carved into his heart slowly as he saw anne getting obsessed with benji a little too much.

Same was with nupur. All her friends were suddenly busy. Gunjan with samrat, anne with benji, madhav with nidhi, that she didn't understand what to do. She would call up mayank late at the night just for a little comfort, and when she called to discuss madhav he felt strangely guilty knowing that it was because of him that madhav wasn't getting time for nupur.

Frustrated mayank finally called up nidhi to ask her to stop going around with madhav.

Mayank- yaarr nidzzz i need to talk to you man!

Nidhi- what happened fatty?

Mayank- yaar about this whole madhav thing-

Nidhi- yaar even i wanted to talk to you about that only!

Mayank- really? What?

Nidhi- mayank i like madhav a lot!

And he had cut the phone.

A few minutes later he got a call from nupur.

Mayank- hi. Whats up?

Nupur- you heard?

Mayank frowned in confusion- heard what?

Nupur- madhav and nidhi are going out!

She said in a voice so pained that he dint understand what to say. In an effort to control himself he dropped the phone and felt himself go numb.

He quickly picked up the phone and asked her in the most concerned tone ever- how do you know nupur?

Nupur- i just got a message from madhav. And i called up samrat and gunjan and they confirmed that they have made their relation public.

And as she said this her voice started breaking.

Nupur- i don't understand mayank. Achanak no one has time for me you know. I feel so disturbed and alone. I mean mujhe... main kabhi aise nahi rah-

And suddenly mayank cut the phone.

She was so surprised. Why had he cut the phone? Did he also find her irritating now? Oh god maybe this is why i don't have any friends! Because i whine too much. Gosh i hate myself to the core. Why cant life just leave me alone! She thought when suddenly she heard the doorbell ring.

She quickly wiped off her tears and kept a file on the desk to act like she had been working and opened the door.

And to her suprise it was mayank standing in front of her in a white kurta and blue faded jeans looking at her with quite resignation.

Nupur- mayank tum.. tum yahaa?

She asked trying to straighten out her white sleeveless top and her black khakees.

Mayank- can i come in?

He asked in a low whisper as she quickly moved aside giving him way.

They slowly walked up to the sofa and sat down side by side as mayank took a deep breath framing the confession in his mind.

Nupur- mayank tum itni raat ko yahaan?

Mayank- nupur main kuch confess karna chahta hoon tumse! Aur main chahta hoon ki ye baat tum bina kuch bhi bole suno! Okay?

Nupur nodded slyly expecting to hear the worst possible news next, but what she heard next made her laugh her arse off.

Mayank was confessing to her that he, mayank Sharma had set up nidhi with madhav because he thought madhav liked nupur and he didn't feel him to be the right guy for her.

Nupur smiled slightly wondering what to say next!

Mayank finally finished and figited nervously.

Mayank- tum... tum gussa ho kya?

Nupur after a long time laughed her heart out as she hugged mayank tightly giving him the butterflies.

Nupur- you crazy loser. I don't care even if you did it on purpose! You know why?

At this mayank looked utterly confused.

Nupur- because madhav has had a huge crush on nidhi since 5 years!

She said breaking off laughing!

Mayank gave her a look of utter disbelief as he shook his head violently.

Mayank- god NO WAY! Maddy sala! Paanch saal! Shitt dude!

Nupur- i know!

She said hugging him again in an impulse, as she lost her balance, falling over with mayank on top.

mayank cradled his arms around her to protect her but in vain. They had already fallen. Mayank looked up at nupurs moon like face and felt his heart flutter. Strands of hair was washing over her moom like face adding charm to her face, a charm to die for.

He slowly traced the strands of her hair across her face behind her ear, as he noticed nupurs eyes shut tightly.

Before he knew what was happening he was inching closer to her neck blowing on her neck as she gripped his shoulders tighter.

Taking this as a positive sign he inched closer and started leaving a trail of kisses starting from her neck. When he was done with her neck, he kissed her on her cheeks as he noticed them going from red to scarlet. And without his own conscience he inched closer to her face, looking continuously at her lips. When his lips were just brushing hers, she turned and covered his lips with her hand.

That was when mayank realised what had just happened. He quickly got up and started fidgeting with his watch trying not to look at nupur.

Nupur- ummmmm mujhe lagta hai ki hume.... hume presentation par kaam karna chaihye!

She said quickly walking upto the desk where she had lain the file before opening the door.

She quickly picked up the file and took a seat on the sofa avoiding mayanks eyes.

There was a strange new aura around her, what that was mayank didn't understand. But there was something new about nupur tonight!

Mayank looked at her wavy brown hair which was shadowing her angel eyes making him feel dizzy. Why did she have this effect on him?

Mayank quickly got up to avoid her eye when suddenly the lights went off.

And before he knew what was happening he felt those same strands of hair tickling his neck, the same warmth surrounding his body, nupur was hugging him tight.

Mayank slowly slid his hands across her waist to calm her down only to get even more carried away then he was already.
