N: kya app mujhe thoda parsad aur deyenge?

P: kyun nahin yeh lo.

Nupur took some more parsad from the priest and headed toward college to face her challenge the Deodhar TEST.

Mayank got off from the auto rickshaw and went towards the testing room. He ignored all the people trying to get to him for last minute test help. He was kind of a guy who helped people, but he hated helping people who develop dependency and don't really care, but just want to be the wanna bees. He thought at this time nupur would say "By God! Mayank madhu makhion ka chata lag lagta hai excel mein" Mayank murmured outloud to himself laughingly as he walked to the test room.

CJ: acha! Aisa kehti nupur?

M: (still lost) aisa nahin bilkul yeh kehti.

CJ: arre wah! Lagta hain mayank sharma aaj economics ki nahin balki nupur ka exam
dene aya hai.

M: (coming back to reality and making a stern face) Very funny Cj! Waise tum test ke time par bunk karna miss nahin karti.

CJ: Kyun darr lag raha hai ke mein tumhe beat kar dongi?

M: sapno mein.

CJ: now this was really very funny.

M: toh chalein.

CJ: tu chal mein thoda aur time waste karloon.

M: as u wish. See ya.

Mayank started on his way again and started murmuring to himself. What's wrong with you mayank? CJ theek hi keh rahi thi, aisa lagta hai tu economics ka nahin balke nupur ka test dene aa raha hai. Nupur! Nupur! Subah utho toh Nupur, maa se nupur, cj se nupur, nupur se nupur, aur khud se bhi nupur ki baat. Mayank tu bilkul bhi thik nahin hai. Tujhe na nupur ka bhoot lag gaya hai. By God! By god? O MY! Mayank tu na !!!!!! Bas kar! Sirf test ke baare mein soch. FOCUS!!!! As he was saying FOCUS he was about to enter into the testing room but ended up bumping into someone since he was looking down. It was someone, that same someone, the one that has been occupying his mind all the time nowadays. It was her for some reason he was so happy to see her. His heart smiled seeing her and slight smiled spread across his face deepening his dimples.

Nupur reached campus, but in a hurry left her parsaad in the auto. The auto was about to leave when she came back running and screaming to the auto.

A (autorickshaw man): kya hua madam?

N: (Out of breath) woh '. woh'. Mera parsaad.

A: Parsaad? (The auto man looked on the back seat and saw what she was talking about
and gave it to her.)

N: Thank you bhaiya! By God! Aaj lagta hai bhagwanjee mere saath hai. Use kitna acha lage ga.

A: (laughing at nupur's innocence) Kise? Bhagwanjee ko.

N: (eyeing him with anger) thodi si help kya kar di, aap ne toh baatoon ki naadi bahana shuru kar di. Kise acha lage ga us se aap ko kya? (auto wala was about to say something when nupur just blabbered on) Jaiye, jaiye apna kaam ki jiye (saying this she turned around leaving the auto wala speechless and headed toward the testing room) she murmured to herself "By God! Aaj kal ke auto wale bhi na had kar de dete hain." As she was saying this she heard someone calling her from behind, she turned to see uday.

U: Hi, Nupur!

N: hello uday bhaiya. Test ke liya ready??

U: (saddened hearing test) ha I mean nahin. Mere stomach mein hulchul machi hui hai aur woh bhi kal se. Aaj pata nahin kaya hoga. Papa ki maar aur deodhar ki daant.

N: (laughing) aap bhi na Uday bhaiya, waise nervous toh main bhi hoon.

U: (looks at nupur's hands and notices a plastic package) yeh kya hai?

N: (intrigued) kya?

U: (pointing at the plastic bag).

N: (looking down at the bag she was holding) Oh yeh, yeh toh parasad hai.

U: parsad? (getting happy) wow! Nupur tum yeh mere liya lai ho hai na. How sweet!

N: (saddening) Nahin! (realizing wut she just said) mera matlab yeh woh ummh' deodhar
sir ka hai. Sir staff room mein woh waha par bhool gaye the. Yeh unka hai.

U: (disappointed) oh! Okay.

N: (relieved) acha toh chale?

U: kahan?

N: By God! Testing room aur kahan?

U(tensed again): mujhe darwani jaghe itni bhi achi nahin lagti. Tum jao, mein time par aa jaounga.

N: (turning away from uday heading toward the testing room) waise mujhe bhi nahin jaana par mayank toh shayad wahi par milega.

Nupur started murmuring to herself looking here and there looking for mayank, "Bhagwanjee plz hain mera yaad rakhna, especially agle ek ghante ke liya. Aur yeh monkey mayank bhi kahin nazar nahin aa raha. By God!" As she said by God she bumped into someone. That someone, that same someone, the same one who somehow ends up helping her, the one with a golden heart. It was him for some reason she was so happy to see him. Her heart smiled seeing him and those dimples were just killing her. His slight smile made her so excited for some reason. What is happening to me? Asked nupur to herself subconsciously. Why am I so attracted to this sadu, akdu, monkey yet sweet khadus?

Since Nupur is Nupur --- good at hiding feelings, ignoring her urge to just stand there and be mesmerized by his presence. She broke the slight momentary ice between them that they shared.

N: (changing her slight happy expression into an angry one) kya mayank tum focus nahin
kar sakte? Ankhen hai ya button?

M: (coming out of his dazed stated) Focus hi toh kar raha tha tumse milne se pehle. Tum ayi aur mera sara dhyan bhang ho gaya. Aur waise bhi meri ankhon ka toh pata nahin lekin hain tumhari ankhon toh button hi hai, itni baadi baadi. Koi bhi darr jayega.

N: (with an open mouth with a how dare he say that look) Dekho kal ka topic phir se maat shuru karo. (Nervously) Phele hi meri buri halat hai aur tum ho ke bas.

M: (sympathetically sensing her nervousness, because otherwise nupur wasn't the kind to halt a discussion like this, he looked at her straight in the eyes which weren't looking at him but were looking down) I know thoda zayada hogaya hain na? (nupur looked straight into his eyes when he said that and by now her anger was totally melted) sorry.

Nupur thought how sweet is this guy. Ek simple sa sorry bhi kitna pyaara sound karta iske awaaz mein. Nupur was lost for a moment totally taken away by his simplicity and care. His eyes were conveying so much what she understood to be as sympathy. Neither knew that it was not sympathy but a stronger emotion that both were unaware of, mayank only read it in books and nupur saw it in movies and dreams, sympathy was just part of that emotion that nupur saw in mayank's eyes today. Coming out her thoughts that lasted for a split second. Nupur said comically "Chalo toh Nupur Bushan, Mr. Mayank ko maaf karti hai". Mayank laughed at this and saw her enter the room. He stood there for a minute thinking how cute is this innocent girl, itna irritate karti hai par phir bhi iski nautaki dil ko chuti hai, phele kabhi bhi meine kiska bhi behavior tolerate nahin kia par Nupur ka kyun? Kyun uske saath bematlaab baatein karna acha lagta hai? Leaving the rising questions in his head unanswered he followed her into the room. He didn't even stop to think further especially about the eyes that he called buttons which always captivated him, because they seem to just pierce through him. Totally unware of what he called baadi baadi ankhen of hers were very attractive to him, more so they were breathtaking because they conveyed so much cuteness, innocence, and trust. He didn't even realize that he never before thought about a girl like this, and in nupur he was noticing even the smallest things from her eyes, her words, her behavior, her dislikes, her likes, her fondness of films, her love for gunjan, her love for life, her muhawaares, simply everything.

Both sat next to each other. Nupur settled in her seat and mayank in his seat. He glanced over to Nupur who had her eyes closed and was praying. He couldn't help but admire her and smile to himself.

Nupur prayed, but she was sensing a gaze. A familiar gaze that same one that haunts her all the time, the one she gets excited about. Therefore she opened one of her eyes to follow that gaze and tried to look at the source.

Mayank noticed that Nupur opened one of her eyes to take a peek at him, he found that so adorable, but turned his face toward the front, still with a smile on his face and one hand over his mouth as if he doesn't want her to see him smiling. Nupur caught mayank offgaurd smiling. She came out of her praying position and turned toward mayank.

N: (angrily) chori chori kyun has rahe ho?

M: (turning toward nupur) kyun hasne par tax lagta hai?

N: Dekho mayank ek toh mein nervous hoon, aur upar se maine tumarhe liya bhi pray ki
aur tum ho ki karele ke jaisi baatien kar hi jaa rahe ho. Subah, subah karele ka juice pia hai kya? (softening a bit from anger) Chalo ab haath aage karo.

M: (confused) Kyun? Marne ka iraada hai.

N: (demanding) maine kaha na haath aage karo.

Mayank lazily spread his hand in front of nupur looking elsewhere. But soon felt something in his hand. Nupur saw him placing his hand in front of him. She placed the extra parsad that she got from the mandir on his hand. Mayank looked at his hand to see what was it that nupur placed on it. He looked at the parsad and his expressionless face became confused.

M: yeh kya hai nupur?

N: (sarcastically) test ke answers.

Mayank raised eyebrows at her as if saying elaborate. Nupur turned serious, but smilingly said, "parsad".

M: (questioned look) mere liye?

N: (mockingly) nahin! Pass wali dhilon aunty ke liya. By God! Mayank tumarhe haath mein
rakha hai toh tumare liya hi hoga na.

M: (thinking what a sweet gesture by nupur).

N: By the way, ur welcome.

M: (coming out his thoughts) o ummh thanks.

Right the Deodhar entered and many other students also came in and they took their seats.
D: alright everyone, gud look and lets start the test.

The test went for a hour. Uday was completely lost and kept on disturbing everyone with his weird remarks. Nupur's tension vanished upon receiving the question sheet because she seemed to have reviewed everything that was on that sheet. Mayank slightly glanced over to see nupur and felt satisfied seeing her calm, before beginning his test. Nupur constantly thanked mayank after answering each question because mayank had made her go over many of things that were on the test that she might otherwise would have not paid attention to.

Mayank had no troubling finishing the test. He was done early so he left for the library signaling nupur a thumb wishing her good luck. Nupur noticed mayank giving her thumbs to which she just smiled. After the clock hit the hour mark all test papers were collected. Meanwhile mayank in the library instead of concentrating in his books kept on thinking about nupur and hoped that nupur was having no trouble finishing the test, she worked so hard for it, he thought. After finishing the test nupur felt content she ran out of the room searching for mayank who was no where to be found. Suddenly it clicked in her head, the library.
