Part 12-

Mayank quietly sat there on the caf seats with dia, samrat and gunjan. Suddenly everything gunjan did made mayank suspicious. Was nupur right? Had gunjan really deceived him? Had she fooled him? And if she had what was the aim? To separate him and nupur? if yes, then why? What had he and nupur done to gunjan ever to make her do that. Odd, he thought.

He looked at gunjan from the corner of her eye, a slight redness in the lower part of the eye, her dark circles more distinguished, her cheeks pale than ever. Was this just his imagination or was gunjan looking pale and low? Something was definitely wrong, he thought. I am goonna make sure to keep an eye out on gunjan about things.

Gunjan- guys main darsal kuch kehna chaahti hoon!

Samrat- hun? Kya hua?

Gunjan- guys main darasal-

Dia- oh my god. Gunjan wahaa dhekho.You were so right, nupur is looking so guilt less.

At this mayank noticed gunjans face lost a tiny bit color.

Gunjan- haan.

Samrat- god dia. Haan gunjan tum kuch keh rahi thi right!

Gunjan hesitated for a minute then she smiled and said- main bhi darasal yahi point out karna chaahti thi.

Dia- see sam. Dud head. God just look at her. itne araam se ghoom rahi hai. Usme sharam naam ki cheez to jaise bachi hi nahi hai.

Samrat- holy god. She's shameless. Dheka tha kaise looks de rahi thi hume. I mean do teen naye friends kya mil gaye. Wo to wapas udne lag gayee hai.

Mayank- I wonder why shes carrying so many books in her hand?

Dia- who cares.

Samrat- array books ki taraf dekh rahi hai. Wahi badi baat hai!

Dia- and you know what when nupur told mom and dad about her not being in the top 5, mom and dad didn't even scold her. and dad to put his hand on her shoulder to comfort her instead of scolding her.

Samrat- banaya hoga ek stupid sa puppy face, jisse wo hume itne baar deceive kar chuki hai.

Although the conversation rattled on and on between dia and samrat, but mayank seemed more interested in how gunjan was acting. It was disturbing, really. I mean the girl who used to openly bitch with dia about nupur was now mutely staring at the fries that she was eating. Not a word from her. and her face had no expressions, just a far away look.

Mayank- gunjan….

No replies.

Mayank- gunjan?

He slowly placed his hand on her hand. As he did she suddenly started coughing.

Mayank- hey you ok?

He asked when gunjan had stopped coughing.

Gunjan solemnly nodded.

Mayank- kya hua? Are you fine?

Gunjan – ya ya. im fine. Kyu?

Mayank- nahi aise hi.

Samrat- chalo guys main jaa aha hoon. Not hungry at all. Thike?

Gunjan- ill come too.

Samrat- chal.

And they both headed of to the library.

Mayank who was sitting there with his head relaxed on the table top was woken up by the peon.

Peon- mayank baba, apko tamanna maam bhula rahi hai apne office.

Mayank quickly got up and headed off.

Dia who was sitting there alone was about to get up to leave when raunak came from behind.

Raunak- can I join you?

Dia- please do.

Raunak- hey. im raunak, raunak manchanda.

He said putting out his hand to her. she took his hand and said- im dia. Dia bhushan.

Raunak- you are nupurs sister, right?

Dia- ya but I am not….

Raunak- why do you hate her?

The question was so blunt that for a second, she was caught off guard.

Dia- I .. I just… you know…

Raunak- I mean ive heard her part of the story, and I was hoping to know yours. Coz I guess that's how id be able to pass a better judgement over the situation. So you wanna tell me?

Dia- before that I wanna know what nupur told you?

Raqunak- oh damn. No cheating maam.

Dia- okay… fine… so here goes…….

Mayank seemed to be waiting for the past 10 mins in tamanna maams room, for her.

It was only 10 minutes later that tamanna maam entered with nupur close behind.

Tamanna- sorry to keep you waiting mayank.

Tamanna- take a seat both of you.

Very reluctantly mayank and nupur sat on the 2 chairs beside each other in front of the teachers table.

Tamanna- ya so mayank and nupur. mere paas tum dono ke liye ek kaam hai. Since in 2 weeks you first years are going to be having your first ever fest here. So you both are incharge for it. Make committees, clubs, divide people into groups and help them in doing what they can. I'm counting on you both as you both are the most creative people ive known my entire life. Since the fest will held after 2 weeks, so the countdown begins. So start getting things ready. And secondly before the fest takes place this colleges boards and class decores need to be seen to. That I want you both to go ahead with. Make them as interesting and neat as possible. I want this work done today. Because the board members might be coming around. So here, take this and get to work this is a note saying that im giving you permission to bunk classes. And please do it quickly. It's a request.

Nupur- maam but I have to work on the projects-

Tamanna- don't worry take todays day off, ill give you one extra day for it. Okay?

Nupur nodded.

Tamanna- now what are you both waiting for? Get going.

They quickly got up to leave when-

Tamanna- and ya guys, start from the shaanti block. Theres no one there, so you can do your work quickly. Then after school you can do this main block okay?

Nupur- alright.

Tamanna- chalo then get going.

They quickly left.

Raunak and dia who were walking now, seemed deep in conversation.

Raunak- so you're telling me that nupur messaged gunjan that she and mayank had it?

Dia- exactly. Me, mayank and samrat read the message directly from gunjans cell. Why else do you think we hate her?

Raunak who was in deep thought as to why nupur had messaged gunjan that, and why she didn't mention it to him kept walking. Suddenly something striked him.

Raunak- hey, mana nupur shouldn't have messaged that. But tell me was it fair of mayank or you guys to not to even listen to nupurs part of the story. What if gunjan was wrong? And above all that us time pe nupur ki halat to itni kharab thi. And mayank slapped her then. And then to you know she ended up in the hospital because of extensive bleeding and low blood pressure.

Dia- dude, I don't know ki nupur ne tujhe kya sunaya but let me tell you one thing. Nupur ko kuch nahi hua tha. Wo kisi hospital vagera mein admit nahi hui thi us din. Alright?

Raunak- what?

He said suddenly confused by the turn of events.

Dia- this is ridiculous raunak. I mean im her sister. wouldn't I know if that had happened?

Raunak- so you are telling me that nupurs lying about the whole thing?

Dia- god! She always lies. That freaky liar. No wonder. That petty loser.

Raunak- why would she lie to me?

Dia- may be because shes a little too desperate to have atleast 1 friend. May be that's why.

Raunak seemed lost in thought. could this all be true? Was she really lying or was there a loop hole thay hadn't noticed before!

Raunak- anyways im free now. Lets go for to the ice cream parlour. What say?

Dia- ya sure.

Raunak- chal.

He left deep in thought.

Would raunak be able to figure out the truth or would he believe dias story blindly!😭
