Part 10

Armaan-Riddhima

It had been about half an hour, since both of them were in the same car. Armaan had been driving to the shopping centre. Both of them didn't even say a word to each other, since they left the house. Not able to bear the prolonged silence, Armaan decided to start the conversation.

"so I won the bet!" he started smiling.

"hmmm?" she replied.

""I always knew, I would win!" Armaan said cheerfully.

"you just won, because I agreed, when mom asked me?" came a straight reply from Riddhima.

"and why did you do that?" he asked her in a flirty manner.

Now, Riddhima was caught red hand. She didn't know what to say, and how to reply. She herself didn't know, why she agreed for it, but she just did. She felt good doing that. There was no particular reason, but how to face Armaan now??

"I ummm?" was all she could manage.

"don't worry, you don't have to answer that!" he tried to make her feel comfortable, but at the same time smiled to himself.

Silence followed for a few minutes.

"you told your mom about our conversation last night?" he asked her with questioning eyes.

"no, not at all..! I really don't have any idea, as from where on earth she got to know about it?I need to talk to her!" she answered.

Armaan smiled at her reply.

"and why are you grinning?" she asked him.

"just like that?."

"by the way, what is your sister's name?" she asked him.

"Muskaan..!!" after a pause "she is my cute little innocent sister!" he responded, with a grin.

"nice name..!" after a pause "so have you thought about the gift?? Which you would give her?" she asked him.

"not yet!" he answered very composedly.

"are you serious? I mean, you don't have any idea, and you still haven't thought of something good for her?" she inquired.

"ya..you can say that..but that is why I asked you to help me na?" he answered very calmly.

"but how can I help you? She is your sister, and of course, you know her better?!"

"ya, I agree. But I think, women are more creative and they can always rescue a man, especially, when they need help in their favourite pastime; shopping."

Riddhima smiled at his comment.

"who used to help you before, until you met me?" she asked.

"Anjali of course! But I always felt that she just loves those presents which are quite expensive..but I.." he answered without even thinking. But stopped mid way, when he felt her looking at him with questioning eyes, it was then, that he realized, what he had said.

"who is Anjali?" Riddhima asked Armaan looking at him.

"ummmm?no one, she was my colleague in Sanjeevani.." that's all he could manage.

"your girlfriend?" she asked him.

"no, of course not! She is Muskaan's sister-in-law..that's it! And we were friends..she used to help me in shopping sometimes..nothing more!" he lied.

"hmmm?" she answered, sounding a bit convinced, but at the same time, she felt that he was hiding something from her. She was curious, to know more about Anjali, but felt that this was not the right time, so maybe sometime later.

After a couple of minutes.

"so what do you think, we should buy?" he asked her, to lighten the atmosphere.

"well, what I feel is that no matter how expensive is the present, it may not be so appealing and very simple, but if its full of love, care and emotions, then it makes up a priceless and an invaluable gift!"

"well said! Even I feel the same.." he was more impressed by her.

Riddhima smiled at his compliment.

"now stop smiling! And tell me what should I buy!" he said jokingly.

"well, for that..i need to know about your sister?" she answered.

"no probs! I'll tell you about her?"

"we are lacking short of time..! its 6:30 p.m. right now..and there is your shopping[means Muskaan's], then mine and then we also need to get back home on time.."

"chill! We have about 3 hours, and that's more than enough!!"

"more than enough?? Are you serious? Its just 3 hours!!" she answered wide eyed.

"well, for that?I can just say that, women can never be satisfied!" he replied smirking.

Riddhima gave him a light punch for this.

Finally, they reached the shopping centre. Armaan stopped the car, the two of them got up and proceeded inside.

"wow! This is great!!" Riddhima beamed with pleasure.

"what's so great in that?" Armaan asked with a confused look.

"leave it off..you won't understand..! I have an idea about the gift, but for that I need Muskaan and her husband's pics.."

"I think there might be one in my mobile!"

He checked in his mobile and finally found this pic-

Riddhima looked at the picture with a big smile.

"they make a wonderful couple..just like made for each other type!" she complimented.

"yup! They look very cute together!" Armaan said.

"very true.."

"but what are you going to do with this pic?"

"well, that's a surprise!"

"surprise??"

"ya, kind of..lets go!"

"but where?"

"did anyone tell you before, that you ask too many questions?"

Just as Riddhima completed this sentence, she thought over it once again.

"I think I said a lot too much!" she said to herself.

"ah yes! I want this pendant! And then this pic in this..ya, yes..thanks! I shall collect the order in an hour." Riddhima told the person at the counter of the photo-shop.

"wow! That would be a lovely present, you really solved this problem of mine?.!" Armaan thanked her.

"luv ya!" he just said straight away, but bit his tongue instantly, when he realized, what he had just told her.

Riddhima looked at him wide eyed, but she didn't actually mind it. However, her expressions were otherwise.

"I mean..she'll love this gift.." he replied covering up. After a pause "now lets go for your shopping!"

Riddhima nodded and the duo went straight to the ladies section.

Riddhima had actually thought of doing something creative for Muskaan's birthday present. So, she had bought a silver pendant, not so expensive, but it looked nice. Armaan had reminded her that the present shouldn't be much gaudy, but just a sweet little one. So, after buying the piece of jewellery, she went straight to a photo-shop for developing the pic of Rahul-Muskaan which was in Armaan's mobile. She asked the person there, to engrave this pic on the heart shaped pendant and write 'RM' over it.

Atul-Anjali

Atul and Anjali had also bought a piece of jewellery for Muskaan, it was a diamond necklace. This time Anjali wanted to buy something different, to do something creative, something which she wouldn't have expected, something which wasn't obvious, something of Armaan's style. But Atul contradicted her and tried to explain her that a diamond necklace can be the perfect present. So, she gave in. Now, the two are in a coffee shop, having coffee mugs in their hands, relaxing for a while. Anjali wanted to talk to Atul, about something very important. It had been in her mind, from quite sometime now, but she never got an appropriate opportunity to talk to him about it. Finding this as the perfect time for it, she started the conversation.

"ummm..Atul, I wanted to talk to you.." she started.

"ya?go on.."

"well, it had been in my mind for quite sometime..but I couldn't..ummm..well..i don't know how to say.."

"come on?speak out!"

Anjali took a deep breath and spoke straight away-

"Lets get married Atul?"

Atul started at her. He was a bit taken aback by this sudden start of discussion about them getting married. He didn't know what to say. Frankly speaking, he hadn't expected this to come up so soon.

Anjali looked at him with expecting eyes. She was waiting for an answer.

"Anjali..ummmm?I.." he started speaking.
