PART 5

It was their second day at work since they both knew each other. Mayank was sitting on his comfortable chair with a file in his hand but he was actually lost.. he was in some other world. He didn't know what all these feelings were that had been troubling him since yesterday. Amit had been standing there in his office blabbering the details for their brazil trip and when he finally noticed that mayank wasn't paying any attention to him at all he hit him with the file in his hand on his head and welcomed him back again to reality. Amit clearly knew what was happening to his friend but he didn't let mayank know this. Clearly , except amit and samaira no one knew what was EXACTLY going on. So he continued on with his talk but this time got interrupted by mayank.

M ' so'umm ..amit'the special someone you were talking about'.

(amit raised his eyebrows hearing this and gave him a huge stare)'(mayank continued)what did you mean by special'like girl friend special or sister-special?

(mayank asked this cool-ly)

a ' I am not in a mood to answer that'.

M ' what do you mean you aren't in the mood to answer my question?

A ' well'I am going to ignore this question just like you ignored all my questions which I repeatedly asked you two minutes ago..

M ' you were asking me something..? I thought that you were giving me the details..

A ' so you weren't paying attention at all to what I was saying..?(he asked sort of angrily)

M ' (he got confused and didn't know what to say..)umm'no..i mean yes'no wait..

Amit got distracted and couldn't pull his leg anymore as his cell phone started ringing and he had to take that call.

A ' sorry dude'but I have to go now

M ' yea'ok..l8er

Mayank didn't know what to do. He was still sitting trying to figure out what to do. Finally with much courage he picked up the phone dialed the number carefully but then hung up before it could even start ringing. Why was he behaving like this. You can do this 'he told himself. Its not like she's a stranger. He picked up the phone again and dialed the number and this time he didn't hang up. The bell rang twice and the person on the other end picked it up quickly seeing 'mayank office' on her cell phone.

muskaan- mayankkkk!!!finally got the time to ring me up!!

Mayank- hey muskaan !how've you been??how's rahul?(lol)

Muskaan ' I am good and rahul is still the same'but how are you??

Mayank ' I am 'umm'good'I guess..?

Muskaan ' oh my god!!mayank are you ok??whats the matter(she could sense that he was hiding something from her '. Mayank always shared everything with muskaan..and he couldn't hide it..)

Mayank ' oh'umm'no'everything i'.is ..everything is ..umm..fine '.i guess..

Muskaan ' whats the problem?? Some tension in business??what is it tell me!!

Mayank ' no no.. business is all right'actually theres a girl'.umm(he didn't know what to say)

Muskaan ' oh my goshh!!did you just talk to me about a girl!!we cant talk like this on the phone'meet me right now in the cafe.

Mayank ' now??I cant come right now!!

Muskaan ' don't give me any excuses otherwise I'll come to your office and I don't think you want me to create a scene right?

Mayank ' no no'.you don't need to come here'I'll meet u at the cafe.

Muskaan ' that's like a good boy!

Mayank ' ok'bye then.

Muskaan ' bu-bye.

Mayank quickly grabbed his coat and quickly headed towards the coffee shop. He reached there and waited for muskaan for 10 minutes. Then she finally entered.

M ' you are late.

Mu ' hello'?yaha tere bare mein baat karne aayi hoon'.. jyada bhav mat kha.

M ' ok..sorry

Mu ' acha' so why don't you continue from the last conversation..? so you told me that theres a girl problem'huh..?

M ' shes not a problem yaar'

Mu- oh really..?hmmm

M ' cme on muskaan stop it!

Mu ' wat?..i'm not doing anything'..ok now forget it and tell me about herJ

M ' well'she just moved next door and she's amit's best friend''

Mu ' so the problem is that you have completely fallen for her!!omg!!is this really mayank who I'm talking to right now??I am in shock!!seriously!

M ' come on'stop it muskaan..

Mu ' ok fine'.so did you ask her out yet?? (she asked excitedly)

M ' NO!!this is crazy'.why am I asking you for advice..?muskaan'be realistic'you cant just ask a girl out one day after you meet..

Mu ' oh yea 'I forgot! You are still 'indian' at heart'keeping the Indian culture alive(she said sarcastically)

M ' oh come on muskaan'.and now plz do u mind helping me rather than making my problems bigger..?

Mu ' ok fine..i'm sorry'.so when you go to brazil then look for the perfect moment at a really romantic spot and ask her out then!it'll be so much fun and I can guarantee that she will say yes!

M ' what..?but shes not going to brazil'L

Mu ' so then..take a step ahead and make her go with you'and its not like u two will be going alone'I mean theres amit and theres samaira.

M ' wait'I have heard of her..samaira'shes nupur's and amit's best friend'she's going too..?

Mu ' yess!!I mean I know more than you about this trip than you yourself do!

M ' I guess amit prolly told me'(thinking about the morning incident)

And yea thanks for the advice' I'll try and convince her to go'J

Mu ' that's like a good boy!now I need to go.. rahul must be waiting for me..

M ' good bye

And with this they both gave each other a friendly hug. But from a distance nupur was watching both of them from a distance with one of her colleagues'and she was fuming with jealousy..

C ' cute aren't they(pointing towards mayank and muskaan)

I hear they'r going out with each other(which was a rumor as they were so close friends and very few ppl knew about rahul)

N ' what??!! Are you serious??

C ' oh yea.. everyone knows!

N ' but'it cant be'.(she was heart broken)L

In the evening'

Mayank walks up to nupur's door at around 8:30 in the night and rings the doorbell.

N ' oh..mayank..come on in.(she said it in a very friendly manner)

(they both sit down in the living room)

M ' hey nupur'hows it going..?

N 'pretty good'wat about you..

M ' umm 'pretty good here too..i just dropped by to say hello and '(he hesitated and instead of telling her what he had come for exactly he ended his sentence with a '.yes..)

Nupur was totally blank as in what to say'.

After a few seconds of complete silence.

N ' umm would you like some tea or coffee?

M ' oh no..don't bother..unless you want some.

N ' infact I was going to make some before you got here..

M ' oh really'go ahead then..

N ' are you sure you don't want any..?

M ' ok .. I'll have one cup if you are making some.

N ' sure 'I'll be back.

She went into the kitchen to make some coffee ' mayank followed her after a few seconds and watched her from a distance. He was totally enjoying this view and his heart was filled with joy!

He started to walk close to her. Just then nupur slipped because of the water which was spilt on the ground. But mayank didn't let her fall and he held her with his protective arms and they both shared an eye-lock. It created that tingly feeling when his hands held her waist. She had her arms around his shoulder which curled around his neck. They both continued to stare'

M ' will you come to brazil with us nupur

N ' (she was terribly confused as in what to say and plus the position in which they were standing in made her feel extremely awkward)wo'..mayank actually..

M ' please nupur'.(he made a really cute puppy face)

They were still in that position'.mayank didn't know what he was doing'he was so lost in her eyes..

Nupur hesitated a bit and didn't know what to do as she thought that he already had a girl friend so she started to look left and right hesitantly..

Mayank finally realized what was going on so he delicately pulled nupur up and helped her to stand still. They both shared an awkward silence . mayank finally broke the silence'.

M ' so you are coming right..?

N ' wo mayank' its very difficult. I don't think my boss will let me'I have just started working there.,,

M ' why don't you and try to talk to your boss about this'?please(and made the puppy face again)

N ' my boss will get really personal and ask me all sorts of questions'.idk mayanak'

M ' its ok'you tell your boss that you are going with me..please please please nupur!!

N ' ok'I'll try(after seeing how hard he was trying..)

Nupur talked to her boss and then hung up with a disappointed look on her face.

M ' what did your boss say..????????

N ' he said that I (changed her disappointed look into an excited one and said) can go!!

M ' that's great!!!

And they both gave each other a bear hug!!
