Part 8:
Recap: Samrat requests Gunjan to put herself first and start doing things for herself more. Nupur challenges Mayank to not answer a single question asked by the professor in class. Nupur and Mayank see Uday and CJ sitting together and are surprised.
After about five minutes of Mayank and Nupur staring at Uday and CJ sitting together, CJ breaks the silence:
CJ: DUDE!! Tum kuch bologe bhi ya aisse hi ghoorte rahoge?
Mayank and Nupur stop staring and look at each other one more time. Then Uday says,
Uday: Tum dono itne surpised kyun lag rahe ho? Woh kya haina, CJ aur main ab friends ban gayen hain.
As he says this Uday grins puts his arm around CJ to which CJ returns an angry glare back to Uday. With this Uday's big grin disappears and his arm goes back to where it came from.
Uday: O…sorry CJ. (He looks down all disappointed and scratches his head while CJ sneaks a smile)
Mayank: (shocked) CJ? Kya yeh sach hai?
Before CJ replies Nupur stands up and jumps, gets all excited and says:
Nupur: Waah Waah Uday bhayiya yeh to kamaal hi hogaya!! Aap toh bade hi sayane nikle hain (winks at Uday while he blushes). Maan gayi apko Uday bhayiya!! Issi baat pe do taali!!
Uday and Nupur high-five each other excitedly while CJ holds her head. Mayank looks from Uday to Nupur in disbelief and makes Nupur sit down.
Mayank: Tum kyun itni kush ho rahi ho Nupur?
Nupur: Arrey Mayank kitni kushi ki toh baat hai!! Haye kitni cute jodi hai by god! (Does the "nazar na lage" gesture)
Mayank: (looks at Nupur in disbelief) Kya!
Nupur is still gazing dreamily and happily at her "jodi" so ignores Mayank. Mayank shakes his head at her and looks back at Uday and CJ. He is about to question them again when CJ interrupts:
CJ: Dude, chill, aur Nupur tum bhi relax karo, jaissa tum samajh rahi ho waissa kuch bhi nahin hai ok?
Nupur scowls as she hears this and Mayank relaxes a little. Just then Devdar Sir enters the class and everyone settles down.
While Devdar Sir is writing something on the chalk board, Nupur whispers to Mayank:
Nupur: Mayank tumhe woh challenge to yaad haina? Toh bus hojayo tayaar.
Mayank: (whispers back) Nupur, maine haan kab kaha tha?
Nupur: Mayank, tumne na bhi toh nahin kaha tha.
Before Mayank can reply Devdar Sir turns around and tells them to open page 435 of their textbook.
…
Meanwhile in Samrat and Gunjan's classroom, Samrat looks at Gunjan for an answer to his request:
Samrat: Toh chashmish kya kehti ho, tum apne dost ke liye itna to karhi sakti ho na?
Gunjan: Samrat…main woh…
Samrat: Main woh kuch nahin chasmish. Main jaanta hoon ke tum dil ki bahaut achi ho (He says seriously). Par log iska fayda utha saktein hain. Isiliye tumhe humesha pehle apne baare mein sochna chahiya phir doosron ke baare mein. Ab dekho, woh ladka (points to a guy in class) humesha class mein sota rehta hai aur phir tumse notes banwata hai. Woh notes jo tum apne liye kitni mehnat se banati ho haina?
Gunjan: Haan par…
Samrat: To bas. Aaj meri tumse yehi request hai ki jab woh tumse class ke baad notes maange, to tum ussey manna kar dena. Main chahta hoon ke tum logon ko na kehna sikh pao aur sabse pehle apne baare mein socho.
Gunjan looks up at Samrat.
Samrat: Bolo chashmish, karogi na mere liye aissa?
Gunjan looks at him but doesn't know how to respond. She feels trapped as on the one hand, this was the first time Samrat had asked her to do something for him and she didn't want to let him down. But on the other hand, she loved helping others and couldn't let that poor boy who was counting on her down. Gunjan was just thinking of what to reply to Samrat when Ms. Aha enters the class and starts teaching. Seizing this opportunity, Gunjan opens her book and starts writing down notes, whereas Samrat sighs, shakes his head as he looks at Gunjan through the rest of the class.

Back in Mayank and Nupur's classroom, Devdar sir asks the class:
Devdar Sir: So class, koi bata sakta hai ki bharti ubharti new technologies se humare desh ki media par kya effect hua hai?
Mayank is about to raise his hand when he looks at Nupur who smiles sweetly at him motions him to go on. He imagines all the things that Nupur could make him do if he lost this challenge. For example, he imagines Nupur making him dress like Salman Khan and coming to college. He shudders as he thinks of this and keeps his hand down.
Devdar Sir looks over at Mayank and is surprised at his hand not being up. He looks over at the rest of the class. When no one else answers, he shakes his head and assigns the class more readings for homework. The class moans and Devdar Sir silences them. He then moves on to his next question:
Devdar Sir: Acha, toh kya koi mujhe bata sakta hai ki pichle paanch saalon mein bharat ki media mein kya changes ayein hain?
Again Mayank is about to shoot his hand up to answer this question when Nupur taps him on the shoulder and makes a "kya" gesture. Then Mayank once again imagines the outcome of raising his hand. This time he imagines Nupur making him play a guitar and sing a song for her during class!! Mayank again fears this situation and puts his hand down while a surprised Nupur looks on.
Devdar Sir again is surprised at Mayank not answering the question and looks at the rest of the class. Again, receiving the previous response from the class, he gives everyone an angry glare and again assigns more readings. After once again silencing the class of their moaning, Devdar Sir moves on to his next question:
Devdar Sir: Toh students, ab kya koi mujhe bata sakta hai ki woh kaunsa factor hai jo Indian media mein bahaut common hai?
Devdar sir again looks around the class hoping that maybe this time someone will raise their hand. He looks over at Mayank who is busy imagining what Nupur would do if he dared to raise his hand. He feels disappointed and fed up when he looks over at Nupur sitting next to Mayank and says:
Devdar Sir: Lagta hai aaj mere academic champion ki tabiyat kharab hai. Toh isiliye aj puri class shant hai. Par shayad main bhool gaya tha ki iss class mein ek aur academic winner bhi hai. Toh Miss Nupur, stand up and tell me the answer to this question.
Nupur who is busy looking at Mayank suddenly hears her name and jumps up. She stands up quickly and starts fiddling with her dupatta. She gives Devdar Sir a nervous smile and says:
Nupur: Jee sir….main?
Devdar Sir: Haan tum, ab batayo iska answer aur please remember ki mujhe baar baar nirash hona pasand nahin hai.
Nupur gulps nervously and looks at Mayank who gives her a sly smile and motions her to go on. She makes a face at him but is interrupted by Devdar Sir:
Devdar Sir: Nupur please humare pass pura din nahin hai! (smacks ruler on desk) Please mera time waste mat karo aur jaldi batayo.
Nupur looks at Devdar Sir nervously as she wonders what to say. She says under her breath:
Nupur: Hey bhagwan, ab is prashn ka kya uttar doon…na question samajh aa raha hai na answer…by god! Mujhe bhi aaj ka din milla tha iss monkey Mayank se punga lene ke liye. (She fiddles with her dupatta some more)
Mayank hears her mumbling and smiles as he shakes his head at her. Just then Devdar Sir again bangs his ruler on the desk:
Devdar Sir: NUPUR!! Kuch kehna hai to zor se kaho takki hum sabko sunayi de.
Nupur: (nervously) Woh…
Just then Mayank slips a note in her hands under the desk. Nupur looks at the note and finds the answer to the question on it. Surprised, she looks over at Mayank who gives her a smile and a wink. Nupur's nervous face suddenly beams up and she returns the smile to Mayank. Clearing her throat, she confidently answers Devdar Sir:
Nupur: Sir, is kathin prashn ka uttar hai: High Dose Factor!
Devdar Sir looks very pleased at finally receiving a correct answer from his class and replies:
Devdar Sir: Very good Nupur! Dekha class. Ab mujhe yakeen ho gaya hai ki humari class mein ek nahin balki do do brilliant students hain.
Hearing this Nupur beams at herself while Mayank looks at her, smiles, shakes his head and says to himself, "Ek number ki nautanki".
…
After class Gunjan rushes out the door while Samrat goes after her. However Dia catches him with her "Hi Sammy". Samrat looks at Gunjan and sees her talking to the sleeping guy in class. Gunjan looks back at Samrat as she is talking to the sleeping guy and Samrat understands that he is again asking for her notes. Samrat shakes his head at Gunjan who looks worried and goes back to talking to the guy. All this time Dia continues her talking to Samrat while Samrat watches Gunjan's reactions and thinks to himself:
Samrat: Please Chashmish usko na bol dena…
Dia: Sammy!!! Tum sun rahe ho na?
Samrat: O haan Candy, of course main sun rahan hoon.
Dia: Good, toh tum aoge na?
Samrat: (Although he hasn't been listening, he takes a risk and assumes Dia is talking about what she usually talks about): Of course Candy, main tumhare new cheerleading outfits mein tumhe practice karta dekh zaroor aunga.
Dia: (beams) O thanks Sammy! See you then!
Samrat: Bye Candy.
With this Dia leaves and Samrat breathes a sigh of relief. He looks over to find Gunjan and sees her gone. He doesn't see the sleeping guy either. Samrat then runs towards the library direction and spots Gunjan just about to enter it:
Samrat: Chashmish!
With this Gunjan turns around to find Samrat smiling at her.
Samrat: Mujhe pata tha tum library hi ja rahi hogi. (winks) Kahin mujhe avoid toh nahin kar rahi na?
Gunjan: Nahin Samrat...aisi koi baat nahin hai...woh mujhe kuch kaam tha.
She is about to leave when Samrat holds her by the wrist and comes close to her. As he does he notices slight tears in Gunjan's eyes behind her specs. A concerned Samrat asks:
Samrat: Chashmish? Tumhari ankhon mein ansoon?
Gunjan looks up at Samrat and seeing his intense and concerned look towards her, she looks away and says:
Gunjan: Kuch nahin Samrat…woh mujhe kaam hai to main chalti hoon.
With this Gunjan tries to step away when Samrat runs up and stand in front of her, thus blocking her path. A surprised Gunjan tries to go the other way, when Samrat blocks this way too. Gunjan tries again from the other side of Samrat but Samrat is too fast for her and doesn't let her escape at any cost.
Samrat: Nahin Chashmish, jab tak tum mujhe nahin batatin ki tum ro kyun rahin thi main tumhe yahan se jaane nahin de sakta. (He says earnestly)
Gunjan: Samrat…aj tumne mujhe itni badi problem mein phassa diya. Ek toh main tumhe na nahin kar sakti aur uppar se woh bichara ladka, mere notes bhi nahin le paya.
Samrat: (surprised) Toh iska matlab tumne usse notes nahin diye?
Gunjan: Nahin Samrat, sirf tumhare kehne par maine usse mana kar diya par ab main…
Samrat: Kya Chashmish? Tumhe yeh kar ke kushi nahin hui kya? Tumhari mehnat ka phal koi aur na le saka isse tumhe kushi nahin mili kya? (He asks seriously, meaning every word)
Gunjan: Nahin Samrat! Mujhe logon ki madad karna acha lagta hai! Toh kya hua agar woh meri mehnat thi! Agar main kisiki help kar sakti hoon toh isme mera kya bigad jayga. Dooron ki madad karne se hi mujhe sukoon aur kushi milti hai.
Samrat: (surpised at Gunjan's confession) Kya? Lekin maine toh socha ki…
Gunjan: Nahin Samrat…tumne galat socha. (Gunjan looks dissapointed and hurt and looks earnestly at Samrat as he too feels hurt at her reaction.)
…
Back to Mayank and Nupur where they're class ends and Mayank takes his books and leaves from the class. Nupur looks at him surprised as she follows him outside.
Nupur: Kya baat hai Mayank!! (slaps him on the shoulder) Tumne toh mujhe ek dum chauka diya!! By god! Jab Devdar sir ne mujhe woh sadiyal sa question poocha na toh ek second ke liye toh mere hosh hi udgaye!! Par tumne ek dum ek filmy hero ki tarah mujhe bachaliya!! Hayeee (looks at Mayank lovingly) Aur kiss style se haan? Manna padega! Challenge bhi jeet liya aur mujhe bacha bhi liya? Waah Mayank waah!! Tum toh bade hi tez nikle! (slaps him on the shoulder again)
Mayank rubs his shoulder as he says:
Mayank: Hogaya tumhara? Thank god! Mujhe laga ki tum shaam suraj dhalne se pehle chup hi nahi hogi. Shukar hai abhi bhi suraj uga hua hai. (checks out the window and makes sure it is)
Nupur: By god Mayank! Main tumhari tareef kar rahin hoon aur tum mujhe hi sunaye jaa raho ho? Kher Chodo...ab yeh batao ki tum mujhse kya karwa rahe ho? (Nupur sways back and forth as she says this)
Mayank: Ab…kuchnahi.
Nupur: (surprised) Kya? Tumhe yaad hai na challenge ke rules? Agar tum jeete to…
Mayank: Haan mujhe yaad hain…lekin mujhe tumse kuch nahin karwana.
With this Mayank starts to walk away and Nupur follows:
Nupur: Mayank! Tum aissa sunhera mauka haat se kaisse jaane de sakto ho bhala? Tumne shayad achi tarah sunna nahin...tum mujhse kuch bhi karwa sakte ho! Kuch bhi Mayank!
Mayank: Mujhe pata hai par...
Nupur: Mujhe pata hai main kya kar sakti hoon!! Pata hai Morena mein na mujhe tedi medi shaklein banane ke kitne compliments milte the! By god sabko kitna hasaati thi main aise shaklein banake ki poocho mat! Tumhe wishwaas nahin haina? Yeh dekho! (she makes a really ajeeb face)
Mayank indeed gets surprised but tries to make her face back to normal.
Mayank: Nupur tum yeh…
Nupur: Nahin pasand aya? Chalo koi baat nahin. Kuch aur karke dikhaun kya? Haan! Yaad Aya! Morena mein na mujhe best sharmane ka award bhi mila tha!! (does a sharmana act) Bilkul aisa! Kyun lag rahi hoon na main asli heroine?
Mayank: Haan…very good. Par…
Nupur: Offo!! Isse bhi kush nahin ho tum kya? Bhagwan jaane kya karwana chahte ho tum mujhse!! Arrey Mayank, iss bichari par kuch to reham karo!
Mayank: Nupur tum samajh nahin rahi ho…
Nupur: Mayank!! Yaad aya!! Please tum mujhe koi motti kitaab padne ko matt kehna haan? Please please please!! (Nupur closes her eyes and folds her hands)
Mayank looks at her pleading and can't help but think how adorable she looks. Here he was trying to tell her that he didn't want to make her do anything and here she was pleading him not to! Mayank smiled as he looked at her cutely.
Mayank: Nupur…mujhe toh believe nahin ho raha hai? Kya tum sach mein chup ho gayi ho? Ahhhh….itni shaanti!! (Mayank looks around smiling peacefully)
Nupur opens one eye and then the other and looks at Mayank with her hands on her waist.
Mayank smiles as he sees her and says:
Mayank: Nupur…kabse main tumhe yehi kehne ki koshish kar rahan hoon ki mujhe tumse kuch nahin karwana!! Ok?
Mayank smiles and shakes his head as he watches a surprised Nupur.
…
Samrat feels hurt that he brought tears to Gunjan's eyes so he says:
Samrat: Chashmish, meri taraf dekho.
Gunjan: (looks up at him)
Samrat: Kya tumhe sach mein aissa lagta hai ki main tumhe kabhi hurt kar sakta hoon?
Gunjan: Nahin Samrat…par woh…
Samrat: Chashmish woh to maine tumhari hi kushi ke liye kiya tha. Main kabse dekh rahan hoon ki kaisse tum humesha auron ko apni achayi se kush karti ho. Aur mujhe laga ki aissa insaan jo sabke chehre pe smile la sakta ho…kabhi uske chehre pe bhi smile honi chahiye. Isiliye maine tumhari mushkil kam karne ke liye yeh kaha tha. Kyunki chashmish tum meri ek bahaut hi special friend ho aur main tumhe humesha kush dekhna chahta hoon Aur agar tumhe doosron ki help karne mein hi kushi milti hai, to I'm sorry ainda main kabhi tumhe nahin rokunga. Kyunki Chashmish mere liye tumhari smile se bad ke aur kuch nahin hai.
Samrat says all this seriously and hearing this Gunjan looks up at him surprised and through eyes of gratitude, understanding and admiration.

A surprised Nupur says to Mayank:
Nupur: Kya? Toh waqayi tumhe mujhse kuch nahin karwana?
Mayank: Finally! Aur nahin Ms. Nupur Bhushan mujhe apse kuch nahin karwana.
Nupur: Acha? Tumhari marzi...itna acha mauka gawa rahe ho ab isme main kya kar sakti hoon. Acha Mayank, agar tum kuch nahin chahte to kum se kum main to tumse kuch karwa hi sakti hoon na?
Mayank jumps as he remembers all his imaginations.
Mayank: Kya? Nahin nahin Nupur...
Nupur: Mayank tum mere saat Appu Ghar chaloge? (Nupur asks excitedly)
Mayank: (with a surprise of his life look) APPU GHAR??
…

Precap: Mayank and Nupur go to Appu Ghar and have a hearty talk. Samrat plans two surprises for Gunjan.

Toh I thought I'd make everyone happy with a balance of both!! I really hope you liked the Sajan part as well as I really wanted to show how Samrat explores Gunjan's character further. O and the Appu Ghar part, I really hope you all know what that is! So those of you that don't, when I was a kid and used to live in India I used to go to Appu Ghar all the time!! It's an amusement park in New Delhi and I used to LOVE it as a kid!! Especially the water rides in the summer!! And I remember they just brought on this winter world with fake snow and ice and everything and I remember thinking ki it was so cool!! Ahhh....it brings back so many memories so I couldn't resist using it!! Even the name's so cute na? Appu ghar!! 😆😆 Hehe...if any of you are from New Delhi please do tell me if it's still there and how is it!! I miss it soo much yaar!! 😆😆
Sorry the FF is not as promised on friday or thursday!! But I made sure I wrote it before I went to bed tonight (it's now 4 am here on friday) Par please mujhe maaf kardo as today is my birthday guys!! Toh ab to maafi banti haina? 😳😳 And I had such a tiring day today I had a dance performance and I had to finish an assignment and I had a group meeting and I had to drive my friend to the train station so she could go home (kyunki I'm such a good friend 😳) Toh I can'tt wait to go to sleep!!
