See that's why I'm always confused with spelling. I used to be a good speller when I grew up with British English but now I'm always so confused. The date drives me bonkers. Ugh, if I put a u in favor or color or neighbor, the computer corrects me. Oh well, have to adapt to wherever we are.

😆<font face="Verdana">The computer does the exact opposite for me. If i forget to put a U in colour or whatever then either the computer corrects me or it automatically switches to the US spelling correction system..😆</font>

The joys of different types of English. I was actually used to litres, not gallons. Yeah and metres and km not miles! And we were taught aluminium in school but over here they say aluminum.

Yup, that is true. I know East Africa has British influences as West Africa has French influences. And it manifests itself in some way shape or form.
