Part 2

The seat belt sign was on and they were all sitting waiting for the plane to take off.

Armaan: "Hi. I'm Armaan. Armaan Malik" (putting his hand forward for a handshake).

Ridhima raised her eyebrows giving him a 'I'm so not interested in knowing who you are look' and without shaking his hand said "Ridhima Gupta" without even looking at him.

Armaan: (Putting his hand down and shaking his head) "Just trying to be polite. Kids now days… no manners. what has the world come to?? TchTchTch"

Armaan looked at her as the plane was about to take of and to his surprise found her with her eyes tightly shut muttering something under her breadth.

Armaan: "What's wrong with you? first time on a flight?"

Ridhima: (without opening her eyes) "Mind your own business" She was afraid of heights but why should she tell this guy that. He would probably tease her about it the whole way.

Armaan: (in his mind) Man does this girl have an attitude or wat! She looks really funny with her eyes closed and the muttering as if she was casting a spell or something. Could she be a witch trying to cast a spell on all of us? Hehe that's not possible. Must remember to watch less Harry Potter. Actually she looks kinda cute like a small kid praying intently for something. She's very pretty up-close. Hmmm does'nt put much make-up but still great, smooth skin. Not like that pimply Tina. Only if she could dress better. Actually she does'nt look that bad in this salwar thingy. Suits her. Seems to be nice but loads of attitude and boy she is sooo not friendly. Whoa!!!! Armaan why are you checking HER out of all the people. She's sooo not your type. Get a grip on yourself dude (shaking his head to clear his thoughts and turned his gaze away from her.)

Ridhima had been scared of heights as long as she could remember. She had traveled by flight before and it was not a problem when the plane was up in the air as long as she din't look down. The problem was while take off and landing. The sensation of climbing up in height made her very nervous and she got these weird feelings in her stomach which made her want to puke then and there. Over time she had learnt that closing her eyes and thinking about something else helped reduce the sensation so that's wat she was doing now. As the plane took off she felt a slight twitch in her stomach so she grabbed the armrests of her seat more tightly and concentrated more on the prayer that she was muttering.

Just as the plane left the ground Armaan felt a sharp pain shoot up his right arm. A slight yelp escaped his throat as he turned around to see the cause of the pain and was surprised to see Ridhima tightly clutching his arm. Her nails were digging into his wrist and her eyes were shut even more tightly.

Armaan: (trying to free his arm from her grip) Ouch!!! Leave my hand… your digging holes into it. Ahhh! leave it or I'll shout for help. How can you take advantage of a young handsome innocent boy like this??? Do you have no shame? Leave my hand….

Seeing that Ridhima was not reacting to anything that he was saying or rather she seemed totally oblivious to the fact that he was saying anything he finally gave up trying to free his hand.

Ridhima slightly felt the feeling in her stomach subside. Realizing that the plane must have stopped gaining altitude she opened her eyes slowly and looked around and was shocked to find that guy Armaan staring at her.

Ridhima: What?

Armaan had not realized that he had been staring at her this whole time so he was taken by surprise and was really embarrassed when she suddenly turned and asked him what he was doing.

Armaan: "I was just wondering whether we should just hold hands and sit through out the flight or should we take this relationship to the next level? I mean if you wanted my hand you should have asked my father for it instead of grabbing it yourself"

Ridhima gave him a totally confused look as she had no idea what he was talking about. With his eyes he indicated that she should look down.

Looking down she saw that she had been holding his arm tightly all this while.

Ridhima: (withdrawing her hand quickly and with a very embarrassed expression). "I'm really sorry..I had no idea..I'm so sorry."

Armaan: You should be (rubbing and blowing his hand where her nails had cut him)..Look at the injuries you caused. I'll have to take tetanus injections and God knows what not. Who will pay for all my medical bills huh???? And by the way have you ever heard of a great invention called the nail cutter? Its amazing. You should use it sometimes.

Ridhima: (looking really guilty) Arre I said na I'm sorry. I din't know.. Show.. is it that bad? (taking his hands to examine it as Armaan winced)…She examined her nail marks on his hand to see if it had caused any cuts.

Armaan: (seeing her examine his hand so professionally) You a doc or something?

Ridhima : Well..I'm a medical student. So not a doctor yet. But on the way to becoming one. Ok..There are no cuts on your hand. I have an ointment in my purse. You can apply that for the nail marks.

Armaan: No its ok I'm fine…

Muskaan: Hey Ridzy…

Ridhima: (Looks at muskaan) Ya just a min. (Looking back at Armaan) Are you sure you ok??

Armaan: Ya.. ofcourse I'm sure..

Ridhima: ok then..sorry again

Armaan: Its fine. I've forgiven you. .No need to apologize so much. It's not like you cut off my arm or something. Though I did get scared for my izzat for a minute there (pretending to hide his chest by closing the buttons of his shirt).

Ridhima rolled her eyes thinking God this guy is never going to improve.

It had been 1 hr since the flight had started and Ridhima was busy chatting with her friends when the airhostess served breakfast. Noticing that Ridhima had not touched her food and was not even paying attention to it an idea struck Armaan's mind. He quietly removed a keychain from his pocket and lifting the lid of her dish placed it inside.

After a few minutes Ridhima turned and opened the lid of the dish in front of her.

Armaan: (muttered under his breadth) 1..2…3

Ridhima: (just as he finished counting 3) AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Cockroach. Cockroach….There is a cockroach in my food. Shoo..Shoo..somebody remove this roach .AHHHHH!

In her attempt to shoo off the cockroach she ended up toppling her food tray. The sandwiches and cutlet fell down on the floor. The juice and the bowl of fruits fell on her clothes.

Sapna: Ridhima calm down… what happened?? (staring at the mess her friend had created)

Ridhima: (Breathing heavily) Cockroach in my food.

Sapna: Where? (looking down and picking up a brown object) Is this what your talking about? …This is a rubber cockroach keychain Ridzy..Atleast look properly before you start screaming your head off. (laughing at her friends stupidity)

Ridhima: What???? No way. (snatching the keychain from her to have a closer look)

Armaan could not control his laughter. He had wanted to scare her but he did not know his prank would have such funny repucursions. Oh God the way she screamed and dropped everything.

Armaan: (putting on a straight face and very innocently as if nothing had happened).AH! There's my keychain. I've been looking for it the whole day. Wonder how it got there?? (Taking it from her hand)

Ridhima (Bubbling with anger) YOU!! I should have known…I. (but before she could complete)

Air hostess: Is there a problem maam?

Ridhima turned around to see two air hostesses and almost all the people around them staring at her. She suddenly realized what a mess she had created.

Ridhima: No.. I..huh..I..(highly embarrassed and not knowing what reason to give)

Armaan: (to the airhostess) I would like to apologize for my friend here. There's nothing wrong with her. She must have dozed off and seen a nightmare..Can you please clean the mess?

Airhostess: Sure sir.

Ridhima just smiled meekly and apologized to the airhostess. She felt so humiliated and embarrassed that she did not even have the courage to look up.

Armaan: You should go clean yourself up too..Or you'll start stinking (pointing at her clothes)

Ridhima just glared at him. She had never been this angry with anyone in her life. She could just kill him right there.

Ridhima: You just wait …I'll kill you..I swear I'll kill you..

She got up and went to the bathroom to get the mess off her as Armaan congratulated himself for successfully completing the prank.

As Ridhima walked down the aisle she could feel everyones eyes on her. With the corner of her eye she even saw people laughing at her. She had never been this humiliated. I swear I'm going to make him pay for this . I swear Armaan Malik just wait and watch what I do to you now she thought angrily.
